Fing bullish again

lots of volume, with relatively no big movement on itBit. candles clearly show a large amount of support for this price. It looks as tho someone is dumping into a bottomless pit. (maybe bottomless pit is the wrong wording... ) However we aren't seeing the same increased volume on bitstamp or coinbase.

last night i reply to a thread titled -Bitcoin at $574.06 where are we heading to?- with this:
i think a bit of a down turn at this point would be healthy and normal, considering the circumstances...
but if market paints a couple more of these and i'll be Fing bullish again

So ya... I am now "Fing bullish again", but will carefully and slowly incress my cheep coin target & prediction.

Last time i though the halving might bring a second leg down. This time i was thinking bitfinex exploding would bring a second leg down. I suck at predicting the future, but i believe we might see some movement when bitfinex returns to  full operations, which i now believe can and probably will happen soon. To all tho that had funds on bitfinex, sorry for your 36% loss...

Adam's prediction: chances of another leg down seem to be getting lower and lower, we may be in the clear and ready for the push back above 599, and then >690 in 3-8 weeks.
Adam's Cheap Coins Target: 520

will bitfinex users accept a generalized loss percentage of 36.067% across all accounts and assets. or will we see a class action soon?

bitfinex says:
Quote
This is the closest approximation to what would happen in a liquidation context.
which seems like a fair statement.

plus with their proposal bitfinex is fully back up and running soon, allowing users to access their funds right away.

i'm betting this arrangement will stick.

Roll Eyes
i can't quite tell if this is NLC

IMO a fully successful bitcoin fork that brings about change and progress, and displaces cores monopoly, would be ultra bullish.
the chances of this thing succeeding are very slim
but why not take a min to answer some polls
click it -> https://btcfork.consider.it/ -> make accunt quiclky show your approval or disaporval

You are pretty delusional if you really believe any kind of contentious hard fork is bullish in any kind of way...

Such a proposal is not logical, and that is one thing that the Ethereum hardfork should teach - especially, when you calculate something to be less controversial/contentious than it ends up being.
2D thinking is fine. but think outside the box for a min
if bitcoin is better off going  that direction and the fork does end up becoming bitcoin
then we are better off with it.
and if bitcoin isnt better off going that direction, this fork is about as meaningful to us a new pointless altcoin.
now I've repeated this over and over... i do not think they will success at delivering a better product then core and so will not be able to convince poeple that it is indeed better, when it clearly wont be. but we'll see i could be wrong about that.
It has always been my opinion that forks are good, and an important aspect to bitcoin's development / evolution.
Its wonderful how a user could be afk for a year, bitcoin could completely change without his knowledge and then he could come on the network and do a TX as he has always done and it will be accepted.

thinking long long term:

bottom line blockchain is the future
bottom line bitcoin is the first blockchain based currency
bottom line it will be much more valuable in the future, if for no other reason then its of its limited supply along with its historical property.

"mooning" is only a matter of time and degree of success bitcoin archives as staying #1 crypto

i'm starting to loss confidence in that bearish prediction

can't be too long now.

Finex should announce their plan sometime in next 3hrs
good to know.

i can't help but think "whatever they say it would stop the class action law suite."   or idk... i guess it all depends on how big the loss will be their customers and how bitfinex chooses to handle it.
155  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 05, 2016, 05:41:13 AM
hehehehehe
this fork is set for 3-6 months form now.
so in bitcoin land that mean 9-infinity months from now, aka SOONTM!

idk why but i think they will fail. right now they seem extremely disorganized, no real solid plan, everyone has there own ideas.
its interesting to watch tho.

We are still working out the details so nothing is set in stone, however we are leaning towards a socialized loss scenario among bitcoin balances and active loans to BTCUSD positions. The numbers being quoted are erroneous as nothing has been decided as of yet and we are still in the process of settling positions and balances. More details are to follow tomorrow along with a FAQ answering most of the questions we have been asked over the past couple days.

erroneous loss or erroneous amount of bitcoin available to "socialize" the loss.

if bitfinex held ~230K BTC everyone gets a 50% hair cut

We NEED a rough estimate of bitfenix's total BTC holdings
this info is simply not available
here we go some conjecture....

Coinbase is now storing 'about 10% of all bitcoin in circulation'.

you'd think bitfinex had a similar amount of coins? right?
so like ~1.5million coins
everyone gets a ~10% hair cut?
wouldn't that be lovely

An ibtimes story quotes Charles Hayter estimating that 20% of all funds were lost, provided it had double the coins on deposit compared to last year.

The story says the hack in May last year lost it 1,459 BTC which represented 0.5% of all customer deposits.

If Bitfinex had the same number of coins deposited this year then the hack might have lost it 41% of all customer deposits.

http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/hong-kong-bitcoin-exchange-bitfinex-reports-65m-btc-stolen-by-hackers-1573968

Charles Hayter, CEO and founder of CrytoCompare told IBTimes UK: "It is not clear on what the capital buffers are at Bitfinex, although if we take last year's figures of 300,000 bitcoin and apply a generous doubling, we can speculate that 20% of all funds have been lost.

Quote
Bitfinex was hacked last year in May when 1,459 bitcoins were lost. Their hot wallet system for customer deposits was breached, which at the time represented 0.5% of all customer deposits. Bitfinex subsequently teamed up with BitGo to implement individual multi signature wallets for users.
if weekly USD/BTC volume is any indication of the total amount of BTC they held  i'd say a doubling from last years 300K BTC total holdings(600K BTC) is beyond generous
past few month of USD/BTC volume seems fairly consistent with last years USD/BTC volume.

from a reddit post
so market was moving hours before or after the coins moved?

i'm not sure i see a correlation

coinbase fud was full on during the selling

also bitfinex said they lost 119K not 180K

the two smaller moves are probably just normal random movements and unrelated?
