Bitcoiner  Cool
782  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the free market the answer to everything ? - Craig thinks it is - I'm worried on: May 10, 2016, 02:13:35 AM
How will IPv6 +ipsec help ?

IPv6 will facilitate peer to peer connections.

IPsec "Internet Protocol Security (IPsec) is a protocol suite for secure Internet Protocol (IP) communications by authenticating and encrypting each IP packet of a communication session."

will allow these P2P connections to be totally private.

From Peter Todd's chinese AMA, https://www.bikeji.com/t/3831

So no segwit until HF code is released (Blockstream considers "released" a pull req, apparently). Wake me up in 14 months grentlement.

Cheesy

so some chinese  miners said " no segwit until 'HF to 2MB next year' code is released  "

fuck ya, good for the miner.

shame on core for interpreting "released" as the code is available with a pull-req.
no you little dumb fucks, it means the code is PART OF THE FUCKING BUILD!
you shit heads!

sorry i sometimes lose my cool when i get worked up about core devs.

0.5 MB blocks now!!

that would be so cool if the damn core devs forked off to a 0.5MB chain

finally we would get rid of these control freaks.

Everyone knows we're heading for the moon as soon as we climb.

What's the deal with just sitting around and waiting? Get us up dammit
Margin trading means you can sell bitcoins without having a single bitcoin. Banks with unlimited access to freshly printed dollars by Fed printing press can sell bitcoins and manipulate price as they wish. It is the same price manipulation of gold and silver we see for many years. This is why derivatives books of leading banks are of gigantic proportions. This is the way it will be until corrupt fiat system collapses. And collapse will be spectacular.

Is there a single exchange that offers margin that would ever be legit enough for a bank to have a play? I don't know of one. All the fancy ones in the US with proper licences don't offer it.
There re many bitcoin exchanges that offer margin tarding. Not sure what do you mean by 'legit enough'?

there is not enough liquidity in any of these exchanges for banks to start margin trading.

try and open 5 million$ worth of shorts, you'll drive up the cost of borrowing to astronomical levels.
Why do you think borrowing 11000 bitcoins will drive up the cost of borrowing to astronomical levels?

looks like i was wrong.
there seems to be pretty damn good liquidity for margins on bitfinex.

Segwitt + halving + lightning network or other sidechains + those other bullish news from the pas 1-2 years. All of that wil trigger a new massive bull run.

i think these things are not priced in properly
with the classic vs core war that had been ( and i guess continues to ) playing out.
poeple are not so much pricing in Segwitt and LN as they are pricing in the bearish classic vs core war thing.
ex. when mike herrin rage quit saying" bitcoin is busted " that was a pretty big blow, there have been many many drops caused by this big block vs small block thing.
despite this "war" market has managed to keep its head above the water.
I really dont think the positive effects segwit +LN will have on the network have been considered by market.
once we see segwit get adopted and sundly blocks aren't crazy full anymore and useful applications of LN start being used ( ex  payment channels creating an instant way to transfer bitcoin to and from all exchanges? )
we're going to have a MASSIVE bump, possibly break ATH, and fly away.

790  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 08, 2016, 10:48:59 PM
this is ridiculous, pop over 460 already.
791  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 08, 2016, 06:23:46 PM
here we go about to pop over 460 again.
market is bullish as fuck, and with good reason

we must be bold, target 3200$! not because it is easy but because it is hard.
792  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 08, 2016, 06:22:13 PM
ive said this many times, halving is priced in, those that want to buy already have. There is not enough buy support to maintain a pump. Theres waaaay to many people hoping to dump on noobs at $600+...problem is even the noobs now use google and have access to a wealth of information unlike 2013 when everybody was a noob, lol.
BTC is gonna dump real hard in the next month or so..probably back to $300s over summer...then watch out for oct ( good times begin again)
BTC will pump but only after the scalabilty issue is solved ( cmon dr wright, make that super computer do sum magic ) 2017 btc will be $1k+

bear logic: it will crash so i can buy back lower and THEN it will rocket to the moon. duh!
793  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 08, 2016, 04:12:15 PM
charts looking good. looks like it was fairly easy for market to bounce back to 460. as it should be.
we must be bold!
target 3200$

also take a look at this video its pretty good, best part:

its going to 520 with 2 legs up in <48hours.

i can FEEL IT!

shits about to get real.

Oh boy you can FEEL IT Grin

As I am highly sugestive I bought just after your post.  That makes it 11 of the last 15 days.  As my daily/weekly limits are small that's how I have to do it.  Also good for dollar cost averaging if that even matters.

Adam what sort of guarantee does the $520 in under 48hours have?  Oh wait it doesn't say $520 it says 520. Embarrassed  I guess like many people I am gullible Tongue

yes i can FEEEEEEL it.

yes i meant 520$ < 48hours

100% guarantee!
if your not happy with the price incress that fallows
or you no longer want your bitcoin for WHATEVER reason
you can send your bitcoins back for a full refund at current market price
a small trading fee may apply

Well I'm glad to see Craig didn't manage to destroy the value, maybe we'll be seeing a few people coming to Bitcoin with a new interest in it, or just out of plain curiosity.

Maybe we can get more people coming out of the woodwork and start claiming they're Satoshi, I wouldn't mind seeing this trend continue  Cheesy

I just love that picture of satashi nakamoto, even if he's not the founder of bitcoin, it's just such a nice picture.

i do not approve, of anything. lol
I think that that Satoshi Nakamoto was probably one of the chillest people I've ever seen in the Bitcoin economy, and I'd glad he didn't try to snag power for himself by claiming he was something he's not. He seems like a man of integrity, and I wish him well in his life.

As for Craig, however...

what a load of shit.
Satoshi Nakamoto's personalty is a totally unknown, and not really knowable.
personality doesn't come through very well in post's and email.
scammers seem "chill" and seem to have a very respectable personality, until they scam you!
Satoshi may or may not have been chill.

who am i kidding.....

Satoshi was ( and still is ) the chillest.

so chill
797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is my fee ok ? on: May 06, 2016, 02:35:21 PM
Thank you

I found out the number of inputs and output after sending the transaction (unfortnately)

size: 37181 bytes

my fee was 0.0007BTC (which seemed ok at the time)

But it seems it has not been confirmed after a few blocks....

============

in theory:
minrelaytxfee   0.00001 (BTC/kB)

so my Tx being 37kB, my fee should have been 0.00037... but it's nearly twice that ! So shouldn't it have been confirmed quite fast ?
yes you got lucky i guess, dont feel special it happens often.

thats such a big TX
normally TX are <1KB
how did you manage such a massive TX? lots of tiny inputs? why?
798  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Craig White Appreciation thread on: May 06, 2016, 02:24:57 PM
I counted 5x Craig White including the title.

If the mispelled name is intentional then I dont get it, and if not, then I dont get it as well (maybe you should list all Craig Wright contributions to Bitcoin then as I know of none)
i copied someone else's mistake in another thread.

not sure i should change it...

Craig Wright
Craig White

pfff, whatever the SOB's name is.
799  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The Craig White Appreciation thread on: May 06, 2016, 02:05:29 PM
Craig White has been part of bitcoin since the very beginning, was he the first miner? does he have keys to the very first block? did he have the POW idea? did he take part its first Impl. does it matter?

Craig White may or maynot have lied to us, tried to pull a prank, but who cares!? it was a silly thing to try and "prove" he was satoshi such a thing CANNOT be proven, simply having access to early blocks keys isn't enough, we'll never know who had the original POW idea.

Craig White is very smart and talented, maybe he's an asshole, maybe his ego is too big for his own good, but this doesn't really matter... what matters is he has a strong skill set that bitcoin can benefit from.

Craig White, I Appreciate everything you did in bitcoinland, and would hope you continue to work toward our common goal.

We are all satoshi.
