i'm so sorry if my attempts at humor offended anyone, truly sorry...

The problem is that all Classic supporters see Chinese people as a zerg that their action will be evil. And among core supporters are and Bitfury and slush pool.

where do you get this?

isn't slush pool allowing miners to vote for themselves?

Slush himself supports Core. And voters supporting Core overtook Classic voters on the pool.

Bitfury is very obvious if you pay any attention. Bitfury and BTCC will definitely not support any fork without consensus. Kano indicated they also would not be flagging for Classic unless it achieved consensus.

Thats about 30% of hashrate give or take. Hopefully Classic will eventually lower threshold to fork, maybe 51% or 65%.

The best solution for them is to lower fork hashrate to 5% and then create their own altcoin and leave us alone forever Cheesy

meh at that point it would be far better for classic to simply start a new coin, no need to fork.
Gavin backing a altcoin whose catch line is "I'm taking everything i learnt from bitcoin, and making a new coin from scratch " i'd buy that...

if they did fork with 5% i bet 90% of that 5% would go back to bitcoinCore mining.

FYI racist comments not helping Classic's image. Classic already has a black eye from Olivier Janssens's anti-muslim bigotry.

its not like all classic supports have the same views on muslims?

are you racist against classic?

Implementationism!

Can anyone inform me why Classic followers are racist to the chinese people? I am very sure that if this miner was white people from Usa or Zurich they will have not problem at all.

lol what?

we sit around waiting on a few Chinese miners to decide our fate.

i am very sure that this white guy if the same miners was white people will not have any problem at all . The same racist story like Hearn. Do you vote and Trump for president?

if the miners were white they would have the BALLS it takes to fork off already.

I am very sure that you are KKK supporter. You are racist!
i do not support the KKK....

if miners were canadian they would apologies every time they mined an empty block.

if miners were american they would 51% the shit out of altcoins.

but the miners are chinese so we play a very mysterious games trying to figure out their next move will be.

No one need people like you to Bitcoin. Human actions are not based from their skin color. Bitcoin is not a place for you and not a place for persons like you. Bitcoin is about freedom and not about racist and hating other ppl.
oh lighten up.
you appear to have a stick up your ass, where are you from? london?

will bitcoin be able to compete with datacentercoin? I dont think so...
because pools allows miners of all sizes to play on a leveled playing field, i dont think there will ever be "too much centralization"  that datacentercoin will have all the benefits bitcoin has with the addition of unprecedented capacity.
Nobody would give a damn about a centralized coin. Without decentralization you are just left with an inefficient network that is unable to process a large amount of transactions in comparison to the already established systems. Additionally it is worth saying that anyone who is willing to sacrifice some/all decentralization in order to accommodate more users (i.e. hoping for a higher price, ergo because of greed) is here for the wrong reasons.
anyone who wants to win is greedy?
well then GREED IS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!
heehehhehe

also is there such a thing as too much decentralization for one's own good?

i would argue that yes of course, for example trying to make the world financial settlement layer run on a blueberry pi would be considered too much decentralization for one's own good...

1271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Classic or Core? Which one is better? on: March 24, 2016, 11:47:19 PM
your opinion is perfectly valid.

let it be known by running a classic node.

also consider buying some classic hashing power if you feel strongly about your opinion  http://nodecounter.com/mining_donation_fund.php

Thanks for your reply. I was only asking which of the protocols would be better to run, in which I think that it might be Classic but I am not sure if it will be supported for long term. But other than that, I should choose whichever I'd prefer to support the Bitcoin network I guess.  Roll Eyes

long term core and classic will continue to operate on the same protocol.
regardless of if segwit or 2MB "win".
so dont worry about having to switch back to core anytime soon.
it is important to understand that by running one client over another you are endorsing there roadmap, choose whichever you feel is best for YOU not what you think is best for the network or what you think will win long term.

when the block size will be changed?
Maybe in 2017.

would you be for or against such an increase in 2017?

'principles' have cost us 10% market share in 3 months!

Prove it. What have alt pumps got to do with bitcoin? The only thing that matters is making bitcoin as viable and robust as possible. It doesn't matter what alts are doing. Go buy alts if getting rich quick is your intention here. But you may find that doing that right now will be a bad decision in hindsight. Cool

its a doge eat doge world out there buddy  Cheesy

Yes let the forks and alts cannibalize one another as they all try in disagreement to fix bitcoin's problems. Cool

yes of course, they dont posse a threat, there silly competition with no merit

they'll never crack the >1MB "problem"

Nobody said alts have no merit (although most of them don't on their face)......what I said was do what is best for bitcoin regardless of them. Competition from alts is not a legitimate reason to force hasty/untested software changes that much of community does not support

And whether they crack the problem of scalability is years off. Easy to claim scalability when a network is barely used by anybody (whether ethereum or whatever else)......some eth devs have said that they are already realizing that eth is not more scalable than btc

a self imposed limits ( like 1 block every 10mins or 1MB max per block) is not a problem other alt are subject to.

i hope we dont actually have an alt PROVE it can handle more TX than bitcoin.

If you use the default fees you are more likely to get your first confirmation with the first block i.e blocks are not necessary full at least in most of the time when there is a spam attack.
That's the way that the system was meant to be used. What happens is that people include fees that are not adequate and then they complain about it. Usually it is not a problem with the network but the user.

an adequate fee one day is inadequate the next.
also anyone running an older wallet client, that client's default fee is probably wrong.
thats the source of confusion.

One look through old threads when SatoshiDice used to spam the fuck out of the blockchain until they were priced out via fees makes you understand that the chain can fit way more legit transactions if businesses optimize their transaction policies.
It is worth nothing that a nice percentage of transactions could be labeled as spam of sorts (even today). There was some statement about it in the recent roundtable but I can't remember exactly what it was.

these "spam" tx produced fees, not exactly a bad thing for miners.

datacentercoin is coming, bitcoin will perish!
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoM!
I Imagine a future where individual states, universities, governments, corporations, banks are the ones running bitcoin nodes.
China and USA may not agree on a lot of thing, but they will be made to participate in nakamoto consensus!!
I simply do not care if there individual citizens can't run a full node without a 10,000$ investment.
Welcome to the future of money, its a BIG DEAL.
Again, either very foolish or stupid. Bitcoin was always about individual sovereignty and now you're talking about turning it into a government/corporation coin. Nice viewpoint.  Roll Eyes

you understand the distinction between controlled by 1 cooperation Vs decentralized amongst all cooperations. right?

the idea of bitcoin running on home computers while its only use is as a settlement layer only large corporations can afford to transact on is either very foolish or stupid.

maybe my point of view isn't "Nice" but at least its realistic.

lets not forget large corporations and banks have already said PASS on the bitcoin bandwagon, and they are on the Bitcoin bandwagon. weather you like it or not the idea of a decentralized "datacentercoin" as some like to call it, is coming. IMO, bitcoin will NOT be able to compete if it hodls desperately to maximal decentralization idealistic roadmap.

Probably one of the most dangerous dynamics in recent bitcoin discussions and publicity is when issues are framed as an "us" versus "them" manner, and causes more difficulties in compromising and more likely to go down the road of a forced hardforking, which if such forced hardforking were to occur would likely bring bitcoin prices back down into the below $200s and possibly even into the below $100s (or even single digits), which is not a positive development in terms of getting cheap coins.

It could take bitcoin some time to recover from a forced and/or contentious hard fork if it were not resolved within a short period of time... I think resolutions that define governing or mining consensus as 75% would lead to higher likelihoods of such potential contentious hardforks....   that is why resolutions of higher levels of consensus and softforks would likely be better for inspiring confidence in bitcoin.

the fork towards the view depicted in my post is not optional it will happen.

either in the form of bitcoin itself forking off this way
or
a new coin destined to fulfill bitcoin's original promise of nearly free TX's globally in a decentralized manner.

sooner or later you WILL be made to choose between high decentralization with high fees / second layer ?coming soon? Vs lower decentralization system with near 0 fees that everyone TX on equally

i believe its inevitable.

there's too much good to made from a global TX network that operate at little to no cost. if its not bitcoin that achieves this it'll be somthing like it.

So fork off and create your datacentercoin. Just stop calling it bitcoin and go back to pumping DASH.

i mention dash once and suddenly i'm pumping it.

Seems a theme among bitco.in crowd. VS loves to pump DASH in here while trashing bitcoin. Fortunately I saw that he recently has given up on bitcoin, as well as some others in frapdoc's cult. Don't worry: you guys always have DASH to fall back on. Satoshi's true vision:

he's not the only "retard" pushing buttons...
i would guesstimate the "retard" out number the "geniuses" 10,000/1
its worth keeping that in mind as you watch core cling to their principals

A quick search of the page shows no one called VeritasSapere a "retard" but you. Happy to support Core as long as they are supporting my principles and bitcoin's principles.
