Any updates Novak on recompiling your cgminer build to work alongside some regular U2 sticks? I got a bunch laying around now I guess I could build another pi just to run the old legacy miners but I have that 1 stick that won't play well with my others so I was going to put it with my old U2's

i would be interested in 2 or 3 of these once you have everything finalized let me know

Ok, Im gonna call a vote... Who all would be ok w/ readonly api access from *any* ip address... (all subnet ip's & any external ip's that are allowed access through firewall)

Not me.  Just do some checkboxes, dude.

I think a check box might be a good idea for anyone looking to leave there miner locked down to remote access

I can vouch for mindtrip, I have bought miners for him and vice versa.

Honest guy, straight shooter.

thanks!

Thank you buckrogers, that being said I still have a few S5's left for sale at $325

i am drawing about 91 Watts at the wall with my 2 USB fans and the 9 sticks and the pi running of the power supply
727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 15, 2015, 11:01:50 PM
i can test it with my management software once you seed me the new copy and give you feedback
728  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: September 15, 2015, 10:59:19 PM
I have 2 USB fans blowing on them but next time i get my laser temp thermometer I can check that for you

Small update:
My next release will ALSO have upgraded bfgminer 5.3.0 in it and some minor monitoring script code tweaks I found =)
Oh and also --api-network added to bfgminer.sh

Awesome Thank you Smiley

Quick Update on MY progress

I have 9 Compacs Running 281.25mhz on a EyeBoot USB hub with 60AMP power supply running on Raspberry Pi 2 I am up to 138GH

731  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: September 14, 2015, 09:17:40 PM
Yeah  a compiled version that supports both would be a huge help for me
732  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: September 14, 2015, 08:27:54 PM
Trying CGMiner now. Getting a "Failed to initiate device" error. It recognizes the devices.

Using ./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://peercoin.ecoining.com:3336/ -u blackbird.2 -p 12345 --compac-freq 150

I would like to help, but I have not seen that error specifically.  Can I get a little more info about your setup?  What OS, How are you powering, did you rebuild cgminer, etc?  Maybe get a little more cgminer output?

I posted a question for you on another thread do you know if I can run older U2's in the same instance of cgminer or can I only stick to the compacs id like to fill the rest of the hub with my older U2's and ahve only 1 pi 2 running them all Smiley

I don't know if they will detect correctly, as the icarus driver specifically can detect anything with approximately the correct chips.  You can try, you'd need top build with --enable-icarus and --enable-gekko.

Novak can you provide a diagram showing the voltage adjustment position in relation to voltage I use the flat surface as a guide and with it directly flush with USB port I have been able to get to 250 mhz or so no HW errors I dont have a volt meter handy to test what voltage that brings me up to

Here you go:

So flat edge flush with bottom would be what voltage about?

One of them needs a little more voltage
I just got it up and running Minera modified edition on raspberry Pi 2 running great with 10 Sticks Clocked at 256.25 Screen Shots of setup below

Nice rig! Thanks for sharing the pics.

I think I know why this happens and of course it's related to the balance option I never tested with Minera stats.
Please can you tell me the exact "Manual options" you are using?

Thanks for getting back to me. Here's the options I'm using:

Code:
--compac-freq 150 --balance

Note that the frequency option is for the Compac stick. I'm also using cgminer-gekko as a custom miner. As you and I have talked about previously, this is just cgminer with Novak's changes for the stick.

edonkey I got your build working on my Pi 2 with the compacs is there anyway to run old U2 Miners and compacs together? when I had them in the same hub the cgminer just ignored the U2's Id like to keep my whole USB hub filled all running on one pi2 if possible if not I can always setup a second one
735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 14, 2015, 05:35:37 PM
not at all Grin Thank You!

So, theres 1 caveat to allowing access to bfgminer from other network devices. This is easy to do for read only commands but privileged commands would be denied. I dont see anywhere in bfgminer documentation that allows easy full access to the local network.
As far as monitoring goes, would the read only be fine?

Yes read only is all I would asking for Id like to be able to monitor my remote rigs via the VPN without using the webpages Any changes to pool etc id login to the miner web interface and do it manually

Has anyone tested to see which is best on RPI Minera or Raspbian running cgminer?  I thought I would get it today, but looks like Tuesday I'm getting a RPI model B.

Just wondering if anyone has tested both.

You can run minera on all editions of the Pi I tested the cgminer-gekko on a Mac runnign windows 7 Vitual Machine worked great today I built out a fresh pi image on a Pi 2 and its running more stable also using a much beefier USB hub with 60AMP of 5V power

I haven't run cgminer-gekko without minera, but my guess is that there would be no actual difference (other than usability). The mining itself is handled by cgminer.

Minera is just the management application. It makes it easier to change the config (if you like GUI interfaces over config files) and it provides a nice summary of statistics in a nice looking web GUI. It also takes care of things like starting the miner at boot, auto starting if it crashes, and stuff like that.

But under the hood it's still just cgminer running under screen.

Just a heads up to all who use my firmware:

Next release is already planned and in testing...
New features:
1. implimented KNCminion webgui interface extension w/ link on status page
2. Auto bypassing of dies that cause soft / hard reset spamming
*note: once a die is added to the list for auto bypass that means its "health" will no longer be monitored. MEANING... no further attempts to reset it will be made if it stops hashing.
*note: when a die makes it on the auto bypass list a message will appear in webgui ADVANCED page showing you which die and offer an option to clear all the dies in that list.
*note: when issuing the clear command, those dies very well may make it in that list again, the clear is mostly designed for those who swap around cubes on their controllers.

3. other misc fixes n stuff =P

one request this goes with your first item here can you modify the bfgscrypt to allow monitoring of the stats via software i think by default its only open to a loopback address so it can only monitor itself. I have a vpn and i monitor my offsite miners using cgwatcher i am able to monitor all my antminers and my A2 without issue but I think by default the KnC's are only set to allow access for monitoring to there own IP and not open to the entire network this should be really easy to change i just don't know where to poke around. Maybe something you can allow to be enabled from the web interface as an option where you disable the writing to the SD card?
