1101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Miner Support/Tuning on: March 20, 2014, 11:39:25 PM
I have attached my Gridseed back to the computer where I had the COM: open failed problem.

I still can't figure out exactly what does the magic, but here's exactly what I did:

  • My Virtual COM: port was COM11: so I tried again with COM11: => same problem as before
  • Re-mapped COM11: to COM2: using the Device Manager (go to Advanced...)
  • Tried again with COM2: => same problem as before
  • Disconnected the miner, reconnected the miner, waited for about 2 minutes
  • Tried again with COM2: => this time, it worked  Shocked  Huh

So it might be worth trying this, although I'm still not getting it 100%

This worked for me. Had the OpenCom error, unplugged, replugged, everything works. Thanks guys! Cool

Ive also had to disconnect/reconnect the USB cable to get GSDs working...
I kinda wish I had a "switched" USB Hub, kinda like a switched PDU, so I could disconnect/reconnect remotely while im at work...

Have you tried plugging your power supply for the powered hub into a switched PDU and tripping the outlet on and off to reset the hub?

I have had 23 Gridseeds running off a PC for over 3 days straight no crashing. Ill posted a picture with this thread as proof. Cgminer is a little messed up and doesnt show more than 13 of them but i can confirm my pool hashrate matches what my cgminer shows

1102  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer support and OverClocking thread on: March 16, 2014, 03:32:48 AM
It's getting a little warm outside and my ants are going up in temps. Most of them are between 41C and 46C "BUT" fans don't seem to spin any faster. Maximum fan speed I've seen is 2040 in the GUI. What gives? Should they be running faster to keep things cool? Is there something I can do other than pulling the blue wire?

Just an Idea I installed a second fan on the back side of all my ants to pull the hot air out since the other one blows in. I powered it off a molex plug on the 1000W PSU I am sharing on 2 ants. Its pulling 778 at the wall with 2 OC'd ants and the additional fans. This helps keep my temps lower but I have also experienced a few warmer days and had my temps rise a little at the hot point in the day

those vouchers are not transferable you would need to make the purchase in your account to use them I already tried to send mine to someone

I just received them today. Although wouldn't you know it some stuff is missing  Cry I have it coming overnight so I will be able to get out everyones miners Friday.

Damn customs holding packages.

So what was missing the extra parts we need to use them?

Nothing now. Ya got custom power cables made by me. usb cables. and the miners. those that gotten more than 10 miners got a PSU and a controler.

PACKAGES has been sent out.
I will be sending out tracking numbers here soon.

Note: If i can stay awake.  Shocked

BOTH BATCHES HAS BEEN SHIPPED.  Cool

Great News. Thanks

Do you have any plans to open this Group buy up to the US in the next batch?

I also havent been able to dual Mine I have tried doing both independently and it works fine I have 10 units hooked up to a 600W 12V power Supply I bought from my own sources. It can handle all 10 at the higher draw of up to 60W each I haven't yet measured it with a kill-owatt in BTC mode to measure the actual draw. I know you need to run the old CPU miner in order to do dual mining but I cant seem to get it to connect to the port after converting them from COM ports to USB drivers
1108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Miner Support/Tuning on: March 08, 2014, 07:04:24 AM
I have been able to get 10 Gridseed units fully operational

Now tell me that isnt awesome!  10 Gridseeds hashing 3+ MHs at some merely 70 WATTS.
It is, in a sense, the miracle of the cfl bulb, if not the LED.
Congrats on your success, Mindtrip!

Its really awesome I am so ready to start buying more they also run so solid no HW errors like other sics I have used. Very consistent speeds I really cant wait to get another 20 and see how many I can get to run together I have heard anything over 20 units I might start having issues but I suppose I can start hooking them up to my rigs that are GPU mining to make best use of what I already have.

Absolutly hey it was a good solution to get us working out of the box but I personally am using CGremote to monitor and control all my rigs and now I can pull the data from my Gridseed rig. Still cant remotly switch pools since i need to juggle the USB hub every time I reboot the software but I will try seeing if i kill the power to the USB hub and reconnect if that works I can remotly trip it with a Managed outlet. Just thinking out of the box here Grin

I bought my 1 set miner & accessories from badman/kelly.
I tried wiibox controller, but its seems tough, so found out how to mine in pc with windows 7 & cgminer.
Downloded the new cgminer 3.7.2 gridseed & changed  - hotplug 5.
Connected 6 miners to 1 12v,30A power supply & connected output of miners to hub & connected the hub to pc.
Installed zadiag driver for usb to com.
Run cgminer, it identified everything & mines.
Kill-o-watt meters says 4W when idle & ~57W drawn from wall mining with 6 miners, where the power supply connected.

For those who cant makes cgminer identify, change hot plug from 0 to 5 & start cgminer first, wait for cgminer to run & say no device found, then connect the usb from miners. Everything works fine.
Have to try 10 miners in cgminer soon.

Did you update the driver for the ST driver. I tried this last night no miner found. But the one part I did not try was running cgminer first then attaching gridseed. Thanks

You need to run miner first then plug in the USB hub or another method I found was to re-insstall the driver once cgminer was running then all the other units showed up in cgminer

I have mine clocked at 850mhz I am getting 361 per Gridseed I have had 4 hardware errors n 12 hours on 6 units so its still super stable. Using this new CGminer is so much more consistent and give you more details then using the CPUminer first given to us all. I highly recommend everyone switch to this new cgminger 3.7.2
1113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cgminer 3.7.2 5 chip gridseed on: March 07, 2014, 04:01:55 AM
Hey guys I also got this to work today playing the same game as him plugging unplugging i couldn't get more then 2 working for a while
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=482352.new#new

I suppose we can get a patched version in the future to let us run 20+ minners on 1 PC then well have some serious power Smiley

If anyone needs any help with this let me know I have it down pat now
1114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Miner Support/Tuning on: March 07, 2014, 03:42:18 AM
So I did more experimenting and if i run 2 Instances of modified Cgminer I can get more working so I think this might be able to be fixed with a patch to cgminer so far i got 4 up and running so were gettign closer Smiley

I have succeeded in getting 6 running under 1 instance Tomorrow ill bring my other 4 home from the office and see if i can get all 10 up on 1 rig:)

Here are some pictures as proof:

I have been able to get 2 Of the Gridseeds to Hash in LTC only mode using the modified cgminer 3.7.2 But Some how I cant get any more to detect. When I pug another one in it knocks out the first unit. I suspect its some sort of internal conflict 1 device conflicts with the other and boots it off. has anyone been able to get multiple units say 5 or 10 all hashing at once with the modified CG miner?

I have tried removing the driver and reloading them but i keep having the same problem
1117  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 1.16 BTC for 180GH/s on: March 06, 2014, 12:19:47 PM
The last few I ordered were in really poor shape looks like they were used. I logged in today and found I was given discount coupons for up to 2 more units so I just ordered 1 more. I hope this one is in better shape then the last 2 I got. If it is ill sell the beatup one and replace it with the new unit. Ill keep my fingers crossed Bitmain if you read this please ship me a good unit I have ordered over 6 from you now Smiley

I need a solution for 50 with or without fans

Three of these would be pretty darn compact:
...
... stackable and then .. you just designed what I was looking for ...

Here you go (pictured w 20-inch box, for those in the US):

Thats a beautiful thing Ill take one just like that Smiley
