not sure exactly what happened there but I dont really care I just wanted to show everyone that it is indeed hashing at 1700GH as they claimed it would while also mining scrypt at 50MH now If I could only get my hand on about 100 more of these I might be able to make some substantial gains. My most recent attempts to contact SFARDS on organizing a group buy or bulk order have gone unanswered
Doesn't matter how many more you buy at the current price you would never see an roi, 1200$ a unit isn't going to produce anything profit.

that all depends how you calculate ROI at current LTC and BTC prices you might be correct but I am a believer that both will gain some substantial value especially LTC after the having coming soon. Also I am most concerned about having the most efficient mining gear as my electrical costs aren't as low as others, and I also like to have at least 1 of the latest gear for testing and reviewing for others here on the forum Wink

What do you get for power running both modes?

970 watts?

I think its close to 1,000 with the power supply overhead on a platinum rated PSU I friend my last kill A watt so I have another one on order I will take a picture of it when i get it Monday

So Now the ETH is officially listed at both Poloniex and Cryptsy and the first few days have been a wild ride up what are everyone's thought on the long term outlook of the coin?

Agreed. I think they are always one step ahead of what they offer to the public  Grin
848  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5+ is available to order, 7.722TH/S 0.445J/GH on: August 15, 2015, 09:54:08 PM
You guys have to understand this unit is designed with Density in mind. So for all the guys who have rack space to fill you can fit these S5+ Units nicely in a 4U Rack space compared to S5 units, obviously the small efficiency bump was due to under clocking and better cooling. In light of bitmain offering PacMic V3 and the S5+ unit at the same time this is an indication that the chip is end of life and the PacMic is to fund there tap out of there new chip for an S7 coming sometime in the next few months. Obviously the sale of all there second hand S5's is a clear sign they are cleaning out there farm to upgrade to the newer miners. Most other companies KnC, Spondoolies aren't offering any new miners to public I still think bitmain is a good company even though there focus is shifting to making gear for themselves with a side market of selling to enthusiasts around the world but make no mistake there top priority is having the most efficient gear for themselves first

I agree I think $50-$75 max price

One day at 5.49Th/s? On a single unit? How's that possible?

something weird happen i had a spike to 30TH out of no where

That's not a spike - that's a whole day, 24 hours. According to that screen shot, your 1.7Th miner was churning out 5.49Th for 24 hours - that's impossible.

he had someone point ~30th to his address! it was pointed for so much time that it gave the average per day at 5.49Th. is that hard???

Well....yes - because that's his miner username, not a payment address. If you are asking me if ghash or someone else accidently entered exactly the same miner name as his, after presumably entering exactly the same password/2fa in order to do so, then accidentally pointed 30Th at it for however long - then yes, that's pretty hard.

I don't use ghash, for obvious reasons, so I'm not really familiar with their (lack of) security measures though.

If I post my 24hr graph ghash had there web server crash at some point I was unable to login when I did it showed my average hash rate of 30th which is wrong all that work was on that one specific worker although my block payout for that time Fran was higher then usual so it's all bizarre to me not possible for someone to accidental use exactly the same worker so it must have had to do with the pool issues in the last 24 hrs now it's normal and stable

Screen shot of the web interface its all managed from the cloud using there website cant figure out how to login to local machine and OC yet

saving space

Are you saying there is not a local interface to manage miner?   It is all done online?

I hope it is not all done online without local.   That would be different to say the least.

if you go to login to the device's local IP it has a web server but I haven't figured out how to login the password I setup for the website wasn't working for the local interface I have to try and play with that a little

Ahh ok thanks!  If it was only online that would scare me as if service goes down then miner might be a brick.

Hopefully they will release username/pass so we can see local.

getting it to "bind" as they call it to your account is a little strange you need to login to there website then from the browser it scans your LAN and reports back any miners it finds. You then bind it to your account it reboots then you can manage and configure it from that web interface. It is definitely not intuitive at all it took me over an hour to get the thing working and I have had hands on experience with pretty much every type of mining hardware produced in the last 2 years, it kind of reminds me of the original ZenCloud Pi Devices before GAW turned that to shit
853  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer R1 on: August 15, 2015, 07:39:30 PM
this could definitely work maybe its a way for them to get rid of the remaining chips from S1 and S2 units used in the U2 USB sticks by dumping them in something like a TP link router

Noise level of the miner is Lower than an S5 but higher than an S3 id say its in between only has 1 large fan but it has run solid for 5 days now no issues no rebooting

My SFARDS unit is working just fine at the speeds advertised. The software interface is a little confusing to setup, and I haven't figured out how to overclock but I am getting 1.7TH SHA256 and 50MH Scrypt running on a 1200 Watt Evga Platinum PSU and power draw is about what I expected. I can post some screen shots of pool stats or the web interface for the controller for anyone that is interested

please post lots of shots  and please show power usage if you can.

Screen shots from Ghash of my hashing speed
