Yesterday there was the second largest Grayscale unlocking, and see what happens to the price. Either they didn't sell as much coin as they could, or the market is getting hungry for corn. I very much like the look of this.

They're letting people buy up the price on this Dorsey/Elon nothing burger so they can sell it all at a higher price and get out while the gettin's still good.

quit your bitchin and suit up    Tongue

this is fine

Quote
Since March 2020, governments have spent $16 trillion on fiscal support and central banks have increased their balance sheets by a combined $7.5 trillion, Okamoto said. Deficits are the highest they have been since World War II and central banks have provided more liquidity in the past year than in the past 10 years combined, all of which was “absolutely necessary,” he said.

Had this not happened, the 2020 recession -- the worst since the Great Depression -- would have been three times worse, Okamoto said, citing IMF research.

yup Wizards was animated in a very distinct animation style (rotoscope? not sure)

i think Wizards and Heavy Metal were released within a few years of each other. it was when i was in my tripping phase so i saw both while wasted at some point.. fun times. left a lot of brain cells in the late 70s/early 80s heh.

Watching Heavy Metal in the theater on Mesc with my GF is one of my best memories. Smiley

Wizards...didnt that release with Heavy Metal?  If I am thinking of the right film anyway...animated right?   One of the best trips of my life...a midnight showing at the Del Ray...epic

Wizards.1977.1080p.BluRay.x264-CiNEFiLE.mkv

1048  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 20, 2021, 10:55:54 PM
Space Cowboys ... That was a decent movie.

Yes..I liked that movie as well..thought it a good role for Daniel Craig      Think there was a couple of sequels...maybe without Craig...but I havent seen em

youre thinking of Cowboys and Aliens, different movie. both were fun.

@jjg  I thought they preferred the title of Wizards rather than Sorcerers

Wizards.. another cool movie.

+1 WOsMerit

You are correct...totally conflated those films

Wizards...didnt that release with Heavy Metal?  If I am thinking of the right film anyway...animated right?   One of the best trips of my life...a midnight showing at the Del Ray...epic

Space Cowboys ... That was a decent movie.

As for predicting the future of bitcoin prices, mine are overly long-term and conservative. It's going up. It's going to $100k, then to $500k, then to $1m. But the time scale is much longer, like a few years or decades even, to the point some people think it's bearish.

Yes..I liked that movie as well..thought it a good role for Daniel Craig      Think there was a couple of sequels...maybe without Craig...but I havent seen em

About pricing...I agree with you that the long term outlook still seems an asymmetrical bet to me

marcus had some nice thoughts about synthesising some different data points into a price indicator...sad to say I have only fiddled with his concept in the most rudimentary fashion...nothing remotely conclusive yet

I was looking at a 4x theory in halving vs price resistance but I think I just have cognitive bias unfortunately  ie  250-1k-4k-16k-54k ect    Perhaps with those numbers adjusted a bit...dunno

Kinda in a lets just wait and see what happens mode honestly

Wondering if there will be an attempt at dumping on Dorseys and Musks head tomorrow at the B conference...again just have to wait and see

Also thought there was going to be something from the SEC on the 27th or 28th...maybe got that wrong...might be something in August   heck..why not both

My best guesstimate is something will start to change between September 6th and October 4th

@jjg  I thought they preferred the title of Wizards rather than Sorcerers

A couple of my buy orders have triggered too... I am not so excited about having them triggered, but sure.. there does come additions to the stash with such moves downity.... still does not cause me as much citttteeeee as if we were to go UPpity.. which might take a few days to get some stability and comfort back in order to get the possibility of UPpity and stop testing the current local bottom of $28,600 or whatever is currently being tested... how low will she go?  how low will she go?

2x would almost be $60k... not sure if it will happen, but seems possible.... 1.5x would be $45k

There is no guarantees in bitcoin, and if we have to start measuring 6% per year from here, then maybe we are not keeping up with inflation, but $30k x 1.06 = $31,800.....   Hoping for more, of course... especially because we had seemed to have had been in a bull run that has been challenging the extent to which we are still in such bull run. and surely I am still inclined to believe that we are still in a bull run.. so the next two weeks may well be critical. tm

CT seems to think $27.5k could be a local bottom    dunno...these heatmap charts look like gobbledygook to me...well..the second one anyway     ymmv

Went back and looked at PlanB's original 2019 stock-to-flow paper.  Here is the chart I generated when I tried to replicate his math.  You should ignore the curve before the first halving, it's kind of arbitrary, depends on what you set as a starting date.  I used pizza day, but it doesn't really matter because the choice of starting day has no effect on anything after the first halving on November 28, 2012; that stuff is set in stone once you settle on your parameters.  I used PlanB's original equation,
ln(marketcap) = 3.31954 * ln(stock/flow) + 14.6227
Anyway, if there's anything to this s2f stuff, the next year or two should cheer us up.

+1 WOsMerit

I like that first curve..it has a certain elegance..I also think arbitrary points are fine..this is what we are doing..speculating     Of course it is a little concerning that this take on s2f is looking more like a resistance level instead of a support level

Below are a couple of charts showing basically the same perspective tho a week or so apart that illustrate what I believe has happened   We have seen a blow off top... actually a double top...but it was followed by a surge of retail and institutional FOMO

Its not terribly clear sad to say on the chart but I believe everyone will get the gist    I am not bearish...far from it in fact as I think you all know...but think it a good idea to remain realistic and keep a open mind  #dyor

Hello gentlemen!

I've been trying to spend time away from here, and trying to forget about bitcoin for a few months. These periods are depressing for me if my mind remains bitcoin-centric. Better to spend time outside, enjoying the beautiful weather.

Hello sir

same here...but I have to admit something...      hello...my name is toxic204 and I am an addict...   I am addicted to this thread and the wonderful personalities that inhabit it

didnt even make it a month before falling off the wagon  Embarrassed

anyhoo  hope your family is doing well infofront

I am feeling like I am being "used" as a ChartBuddy breaker-upper..

 Cry Cry Cry Cry

seen a few four baggers over the last dozen pages or so...you are lacking in the breaker-upper department juansnowgee    Kiss

that and all the other bs going on...makes one wonder if this timeline needs to be pruned or not...

Hey ToxicMoxic!!!!

You are back!!!!

-----------

I dont really know what is going to happen...nobody does...and even tho i say that quite often i can still make a few educated guesses...if investors keep looking at bitcoin as if it were a legacy stock..they will get burned...badly imo

anyway...carry on

p.s.  old hat for many but many good questions asked and answered   #dyor

Not just BTC that looks a bit shit, legacy markets are having trouble too. I wonder if we'll be getting a broad correction soon, or if the FED will preempt it with some more brrrr.

In a coordinated announcement, the White House and governments in Europe and Asia identified China's Ministry of State Security, the sprawling and secretive civilian intelligence agency, with using "criminal contract hackers" to conduct a range of destabilizing activities around the world for personal profit, including the Microsoft hack, according to a senior US administration official.

You know, everything seems to be heading in a real shitty direction. I was going to move into the rural area a little when I buy a house, no more than 45min out from the city, but I feel I should move much further out now and become completely independant on my land. The world is heading towards a dark place and has been for a good while now.

i hear you..its ugly...has been for awhile now   two choices really...and i guess i should be happy that there are...bury your head and wait for what comes or get out there and affect what positive change you can

i have been at that crossroads time and again   for me personally there is no choice really...i have to keep trying and just do the best i can

It's funny, I consider these crossroads all the time myself too, maybe everyone does and we are just waiting for the right moment and movement to come into being. I consider trying to start something like this myself sometimes, but I'm getting older now and my hatred of the world keeps growing so I also think why bother. I guess that's just depression with the world talking though. When Bitcoin goes up again, I'm sure my motivation will return, but will it make a difference? Probably not.

I think the word 'start' could be replaced with 'continue doing' somac. A butterfly flapping its wings does not seem like much...but it IS something  You are here...on the most important bitcoin forum in the World...advocating for it...it is not nothing imho
