321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Dogecoin? on: November 18, 2017, 06:00:32 AM
I think majority will choose bitcoin we all know that bitcoin keeps rising rapidly every year. Grin

The main driving force behind the Crypto scene is Bitcoin and just a couple alts like Ethereum.

But ... if Bitcoin becomes mainstream some of the fad alts with enough cultural significance may increase along with it in price.  Kind of like collectors items. I doubt Dogecoin would be able to grow much on its own beyond Reddit.

For shits and giggles maybe I should buy ten bucks of every coin and put it in like a collection and forget about it in the attic.

322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Visualizing shilling. on: November 18, 2017, 03:57:21 AM
Hey guys.  I do work with data mining and visualization and have come up with a fun way to visualize and detect shilling, at least for our toy data set.  We look forward to using it to analyze BCT threads.

First we trained a Naive Bayes classifier to predict the sentiment of movie reviews using a corpus of movie reviews which were tagged as either negative or positive.  It basically establishes the probability of texts being negative or positive given the frequency of different keywords.

We can use this to establish the probability of some unknown text being positive and the probability of it being negative.

Then we wrote a toy data set of movie reviews to simulate the introduction of shilling.  The first six were positive and then the next six we simulate the entrance of a shiller by alternative positive and negative.

         "wonderful wonderful wonderful",
         "real neat ",
          "best movie of the year",
"the movie was great I loved it",
         "best acting favorite",
         "awful",
         "the movie was amazing",
         "terrible movie",
         "favorite actor",
         "worst movie bad acting"
         "most amazing movie ever",
         "sucks bad"

Then we used our classifier to predict the negative and positive sentiment scores which were then visualized.  The scores for reviews were visualized as points where one axis represents the probability of the text being negative and the other the probability of it being positive.  A third axis represents time.

Thought some of you might appreciate this.  If you are interested in the script used send me a message and I will send it to you.

323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading or ICO on: November 18, 2017, 03:40:00 AM
You should definitely start with small amounts when trading.

There is a lot of profit there but you need so much practice and training.  The majority of day traders actually lose money.

As an alternative to ICOs which are very risky try to find coins which are undervalued because they are still under development but have a great development team.

And of course put a little into ICOs...
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DCORP Venture Capitalism on: November 18, 2017, 03:34:59 AM
We would really like more progress updates outside of Telegram.

Can we get a Thanksgiving update please?  I really want to know how the venture capital system is coming.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Dogecoin? on: November 18, 2017, 02:52:53 AM
Bitcoin has lasting utility.

Dogecoin was a meme.  It was cool and exciting for awhile.

Like the fidget spinner it had its day, and like the fidget spinner will fade into memory.

We had a huge rebound of Dogecoin but that was only because the altcoin market in general rebounded.  I wouldn't invest in it.  It was great if you got in on it early like fidget spinners but now the hype is gone.
326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats so special about IOTA? on: November 18, 2017, 02:48:26 AM

There is a lot of potential for crypto technology in emerging paradigm of the 'internet of things'.

These things will need to communicate securely, store and manipulate data, and other things.  The network should be reliable and adaptable in case parts of the network go down.

The problem with Ethereum is that it just costs too much.  IOTA wants to offer a scalable and super cheap service providing decentralized communication and storage.
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO Breaks NEW HIGH on: November 18, 2017, 02:27:09 AM
NEO Coin is on the launch to the moon now

May we know the reason of this?

Other altcoin is reaching the high also

Hsahare & Bitcoin Cash, im confused now

There was some news regarding Chinese ICO regulation which put NEO in a favorable light.

I can't wait until the technology takes off - partially because I want to program smart contracts in C# and Neo taking off would mean someone would make better tutorials for it. Tongue
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best bounty campaign to join? on: November 18, 2017, 02:25:33 AM
I would not suggest to join the above bounty campaign that the other used told you to join, they are paying with their tokens, it means that they dont have enough budget to pay their advertisers with real money, they are going to pay you probably in a month or two with their fake tokens that we dont even know if they are going to get listed on an exchange as soon as possible.
Try to join only those who pay on bitcoins, but honestly, i would not join a campaign, you are still a Member and you can only be paid $10 a week, and you need a lot of time.

Can you list some of these?  Almost every one I have seen pays in tokens.  I don't mind too much as it keeps me on my toes myself as I don't want to promote a coin with no future.  Because of this I am holding my bounties and just trying to be real careful.
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DCORP Venture Capitalism on: November 18, 2017, 12:03:48 AM
Yeah I totally don't get the sell off of a venture capital coin. There's some weak hands here. It's not an ICO coin flip, it's an investment.

Well it has never been under ICO price right? In these times, this is an accomplishment :-)

It's near the ICO price now, depends on which stage somebody has participated. About an hour ago there was a dip, maybe below ICO price (in $, not BTC).

It’s actually under Ico price!

FYI ICO price was betwen 50 and 70 cents. Its currently on .78

Once they release the venture capital system it will skyrocket.  I will give them until the end of the year as I am a developer myself and know that development takes time to do right.
If we are using a web based user interface to 'vote' then we want to make sure it is secure as it will deal with our keys.  It shouldn't take more than 6 months though.

I will hold at least until the end of 2018, if they deliver the promised derivates exchange with an high-grade platform, then the price will skyrocket and I will definitely not miss that flight.

I dont know if "just" the voting platform will cause skyrocket, but I hope so.

For me it will show they can develop software.  Both projects involve a large amount of security considerations.  They are not small projects.  If they release the venture capital system and it looks good then it will really bolster confidence with a number of potential investors.
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Altcoins really have a future? on: November 17, 2017, 11:59:52 PM
You are lumping a whole bunch of things into 'altcoins'.

Some will succeed. Some will change how the internet works in the future.  Some will fail.

331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [AIRDROP RUNNERS] - Best practice and tools on: November 17, 2017, 04:58:03 PM
Could you elaborate on 'Script to automate profiles check would be welcome.'

You don't say much.  I am curious what sort of requirements the script would entail.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is $8000, ICOs MUST increase our token/coins on: November 17, 2017, 04:50:49 PM
A lot of ICO's convert a lot of funds to fiat because of its stability.  The other major portion of their funding comes from their own token supply.  If they choose to keep the funds in bitcoin or eth, the only way you could argue you should get more value, then they would be gambling just as you are.  We don't want that, right?
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins activities on: November 17, 2017, 04:47:35 PM
That is pretty neat.  Don't know much Ruby but still enjoyed skimming through parts of the source code.  I will refrain from putting my QA hat on..

Do it myself in Python using Beautiful Soup to parse various fields.  It is so simple and easy to use but a tad slow and I can't multithread it when web mining.
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XCoinPay is coming! on: November 17, 2017, 06:07:17 AM
I am not dissing on the project but Bitcoin is the PayPal of the Crypto digital currency industry...  (followed by a long string of others)

Bruno,  will those who participated in the bounty campaigns be paid their tokens given that the ICO end date has been moved forward?

The bounty manager stated the 14th which was the intitial ICO end.

337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does it make sense to invest a bit of money on all altcoins? on: November 15, 2017, 04:53:32 PM
Put together a diversified portfolio containing the top however many coins on coinmarketcap and invest part of your funds.  Pretty safe, especially if filtering for volatility.

But also try to find coins with promising technology and solid development but are undervalued and invest part of your funds in this.  Buy low and sell high.

338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]🔵🔵 OYSTER 🔵🔵 Anonymous Storage Generates Revenue for Websites on: November 15, 2017, 04:43:56 PM
Looks like the sale was extended for 15 more days! Why is that?

I rushed to get all my funds in order when I could have held for today's uprising in price in crypto.

Plus the site said, "Crowdsale lasts until 400 million PRL* hard cap is reached or Nov 14, whichever comes first". This was a good time frame as it keeps the supply down.

Same here kinda annoying that it was extended two weeks. Would like to know the decision as to why.. Coin Schedule said over 97% of the 400M was reached?

There is no way that many 97% was reached. There are at most a couple hundred Ether invested.   Where is this Coin Schedule thing you are looking at?

Personally I don't mind an extended crowdsale to get more funds to the devs though I want to see development progress kick up.
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] [ICO] 🔵🔵 OYSTER 🔵🔵 Anonymous Storage Generates Revenue for Websites on: November 15, 2017, 04:37:09 PM
Has this campaign ended?

Ended. Already here very much we wait for charge of tokens for bounty)
when will the token tokens PRL for the bounty will be distributed, is not it time the managers announced will share the date of 14 november, but what we see until now there has been no distribution, even this has crossed the line and now it is the 15th.

According to the website the sale has been extended to Nov 30.

We should still get our tokens for the campaign though..  today should be the day if anything.

Sorry for asking this but has dcorp coin listed to any exchange?I remember having bought some Dcorp during ico but could not follow up

It is but it the  price is dropping like a coin thrown down a well .You better off not looking ( save your self the depression  Undecided) .It is listed on https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/ at the moment .Best advice would be to just HOLD and corm back and look again in 6 months

The more it drops the more I will grab.  I can't wait to see the venture capital platform.  Cheap Dcorp tokens!  We will see though.  We will see.
