I've played at Bitjack21.com in the past, and all was fine.
This past Friday, I deposited 6 BTC, and emailed them to get my .1 BTC deposit bouns. I got an email back right away.
I ended up playing for a while, and won. I withdrew 12.39 BTC.
The withdrawal page said it might take up to 24 hours.
36 hours later, no BTC. I emailed them. No response.
2 days later I emailed them again. No response.
It's now several days later. No BTC, no response to email.
Learn from my mistake - don't play there,

I have also not gotten my withdrawal. It's been several days, and he's not answering emails, either.
When I deposited, I sent him an email, because you get a .1 bonus for depositing 5 for more BTC. He answered that one right away.
When I withdrew, the page said it may take 24 hours.
After 36 hours and no BTC, I sent him an email. No response. The next day I sent another email. No response. No BTC.
It's a shame. His site is great, and I had no problems with him in the past. But now he's taken my BTC and is not answering email.
I wish I had seen this thread earlier.

I got to thinking that not many people (myself included) actually realize how close we are to block reward halving.
The poll is when do you think people will wake up and realize bitcoins aren't going to be any easier to mine nor buy for that matter (at low prices)?
You are right my friend. Fucking right. I just cancelled my sell orders at 12, 14, 16. I'm a miner and I've been waiting to sell for 6+ months, for the price to get to 12+. But you are right. 6 more months and the reward goes to 1/2. 1/2 as much BTC being sold by miners should reduce the downward pressure on the market. The current price upswing seems to be real, on real support. When the selling rate goes down, then price should go even higher. I've waited a long time to sell. I can wait a while longer.

Thanks! And thanks for the donations!

I have the same problem. --rescan didn't help. I just deleted the blockchain. It's re-downloading now.

The QT version won't run on my minimal linux machine. I've been running 0.4.0 forever. Where can I find this 0.4.6 backport you speak of?
Nevermind, I got it to run.

In Hillcrest, we go to City Deli & Busalacchis.
On 5th right? A little pricey but also a good choice. I’m not sure the owner would be able to get the idea of Bitcoin though. The Busalacchi family owns several restaurants in San Diego. We used to go the the old one on 5th, but there's a new one, also on 5th, that's not quite as good as the old one. Or maybe that's just my nostalgia talking. Anyway, the only kind of food the wife and I DON'T eat is Thai & Vietnamese. The wife also doesn't like Indian, but I love it. Good luck. Any place you convince to take bitcoin, I'll try at least once.

I live in San Diego and my wife and I eat out all the time. We're in Ocean Beach, so we walk to The Joint, Blue Parrot, Village Kitchen, Pomas & Pepe's all the time.
I also work in the Mira Mesa area, and I eat lunch at a restaurant in that area 5 days a week. Sima's, Tem's BBQ, Regent's Pizza, Uptown Delight approx twice a month each.
I have the MtGox app on my jailbroken iPhone to pay with.

I bought physical Bitcoins from Memory Dealers in early December to give as gifts to co-workers. I paid via credit card. Because of the CC fees, shipping, etc (all of which is fair for MD) they cost about $6.10 each. Bitcoin at the time was about $3 (my memory may well be wrong).
But it was awfully cool to pass out those coins and say "Bitcoin was $3 when I bought this, but now it's $6".
I see that many of those co-workers still have that coin on their desk. But we're a software shop, they know what cryptography is, what peer to peer means, and we use LOTS of open source, so I hope that at least 1 or 2 of them will "see the light".
As far as MY workplace goes, if we could get some Magic The Gathering tie in, we'd get them all!

Can it be a perfect storm? In the midst of a rally, mass market America gets their first word about Bitcoin?
I know the episode casts Bitcoin as an "illegal" currency, but I say any press is good press, especially when it's to people who never heard of Bitcoin before.
This can only push the rally higher.

I'm pretty good at losing BTC playing blackjack. Then I have to buy more, and lose them again. That's good for the BTC economy, right?

Oh come on, I predicted two contradictory things and SAID IN ONE OF THE THREADS THAT IT SUPERSEDED the other thread. This means that the other thread is an earlier prediction, but based on later information, I changed my mind. You didn't even bother to read the entire thread.
Yes, this is a was a stupid thread to create. Amusing, tho. It made me laugh. especially the 3rd post. Holy shit! It's geek-trader, coming back to the troll's nest! I've been lurking. reading almost every day, but not posting too much.

the question is "why"?
I suspect the answer is somewhere along the lines of "banks suck". But we all knew that already, right? Isn't that why we support bitcoin? My wife does payroll / HR, and she has problems with banks all the time, and that's for "traditional" businesses. You add bitcoin and it's shady reputation into the mix, and I'm surprised crap like this doesn't happen more often.
