Hey,
Next time, feel free to use our company, BitInstant.com which has a fantastic reputation.
-Our fee is 4.49% - 4.99% (Depending on volume) -Most deposits are verified within 30 minutes as the process is completely automated. -Besides for Bank of America, we have accounts in CitiBank, Chase, and Wells Fargo.
-Charlie
I will try you guys next time. I like testing out all the various services. What I really want, tho, is MtGox to reinstate cash deposits. Then there is zero deposit fee, just the 0.6% trade fee.

I ended up using get-bitcoin.com It was fast and easy. 5% fee on $50 = $2.50

with a $15 fee? No thanks.

ExchB is sadly gone. MtGox has suspended their cash deposits. What exchange will let me get USD in by making a cash deposit at a US bank?

I have purchased BTC with paypal from both gusti and astana. They were both great. quick and no problems, great communication.

MtGox withdraws to Dwolla and then to your bank can take over ten days.
I do it every month to pay the power bill, and it's never taken more than 3 business days, usually 2. I have seen posts stating that a particular withdrawal took a while, but it's not happened to me.

On the other hand, I just bought 10 1 BTC coins from Memory Dealers to give to co-workers. Those f**kers only deserve 1 BTC each anyway.

I find myself wanting to give bitcoin for the holidays this year, but 25 BTC is too much, and 1 BTC is too little. 10 BTC would be perfect. I know I can "charge" a 1 BTC coin up to 10. (I already have 5 1 BTC coins from you ) but that seems like it would require too much explanation to a noob like I'd give these to. Your options for coins / bars over 1 BTC are too big, in my opinion. I'd love a 10 BTC coin made of brass.

Bad news, 'In order to make Euro deposits you need to have a "verified" or "trusted" account status.'
"In order to apply for the “Verified” account status please attach a copy of your government issued photo ID"
What's the problem? I'm verified, it took me 5 minutes to scan and send the documents, and they had me verified the next day.

I'm not a big fan. Let me qualify that: The functionality seems to be the same, and that is the important part. So no complaint there. It IS better than the old site. It just seems a little "hippie" and not at all profesional like a bank site. But then, most bank sites suck. The calculator and the circles seems a bit frivolous. But then, it IS better than before. Like I said, tho, I could really care less how it looks. I care about how it works. Speed up cash deposits at Chase bank. Speed up response time from support. Those are my main 2 issues.

I withdrew to Dwolla on Nov. 23rd, and it showed up in Dwolla in less than an hour. I've never used Paxum, but I see people complaining about MtGox withdrawals to Paxum all over these forums.

Well, *I've* certainly gone through the Trough of Disillusionment and have entered the Slope of Enlightenment. But that's just my personal attitude.
However, I suspect bitcoin will not follow these established trends too close. We could have another bubble any day with the right press.
I do agree that, eventually, the USD price of bitcoin will be on a more traditional path, like described in the linked article, but for now, for the next year, at least until the block reward goes down to 25 BTC, anything goes.
Hold on, it's going to be a wild ride!
|
|
|
I suspect bitcoin will have a few more bubbles rise and burst before we settle into the the "Slope of Enlightenment" and "Plateau of productivity". Right now we have Max Keiser going nuts on twitter pushing bicoin all of a sudden, plus the Wired article hit just before the (american) long holiday weekend. I predict a bubble next week.

I would be interested in the exchange, but the $15 fee for withdrawals and deposits makes it not worth it for me. Even with $500, $15 is 3%.
I also am seeing only a slight premium to mtgox right now, not enough to cover the $15. I pay .25 cents to withdraw to Dwolla on mtgox and zero for a check at Tradehill and a slightly lower trading fee at mtgox or Tradehill.
Again, I always like alternatives and would try, but the $15 fee makes it fail for me.
I agree completely. The $15 fee makes it a non-starter. It costs me $0.25 to withdraw from MtGox to Dwolla. Why would I pay 60 times that to withdraw from CryptoXChange?

evoorhees, there are so many trolls and asshats on this forum, that sometimes I despair and don't come back for days. But then I see your posts and I have hope. If we had just a few more forum posters of your quality and reasonableness, and a few less trolls, this forum would be a MUCH more enjoyable place. Thanks.

I've been using it for a few days now. A few things I didn't like at first now seem fine.
One thing still bugs me a slight bit. I'd like to have the total balance on the transaction screen. Right now it's only on the overview screen.
Overall, as I said before, great job. Love to be able to sort address by address or label, love to be able to export the transaction list. Love the search transactions.
Thanks!

Very nice job guys. I wonder though what happend with the amount of confirms on transaction? Why did you guys remove this little piece of handy information?
Edit: Also, I get these black rectangles popping up when i hover over my recent transactions. Not sure if its just me.
I get a green check if it's 6 confirms or more, and a "clock" icon that progresses as that trans. gets more confirms. The exact number of confirms can be found by mousing over the check or "clock". I like the new interface a lot. Thanks, developers!

The press ALWAYS gets the details wrong when they have an article about anything even remotely technical. When I started working in tech (1998) I was appalled by the coverage of the new "world wide web" and how wrong they got everything. I made me wonder how much they got wrong in fields I know nothing about, like medicine.
So, I learned to just take the suface info from a news article, and research for myself if I wanted the real details.
In that light, a reasonably positive article like this is great news.
It seems like Bitcoin is getting more and more coverage in this vein. That's great news. A constant trickle of small, positive coverage is what we really need. Huge splashes like the Silk Road news only cause a bubble.

I don't understand what the "sentiment indicator" is. Unless it's that flash thing on the right side that I can't see because I block flash.

So, on the deposit that took 2 weeks, did you contact Mt.Gox? I recently made a deposit that had not posted for more than two business days. (They say it will within two business days.) I contacted them via email and within a few hours I had the credit.
I did, and they did eventually resolve it.
