141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will China's Ban on ICOs increase the price of anon coins? on: September 05, 2017, 09:37:40 PM
The Chinese people are incredibly skilled at working around what their government constructs to mess with their lives.
They'll find that there are crypto's like xspec out there that will suit them just fine.

Full time Dev
It isn’t very often that you see  a community come together like ours when the donations were made for jbg. Now he can continue full time through the end of 2017! Goals are set, plans made and coding is furious.
Thank you all.

Big London Meeting
I am happy to report that, this past week,  jbg….our head developer/project manager  was able to meet face to face with Mandica , the dev/manager of Spectrecoin. She continues to deal health issues but, it making progress.

Current wallet development was discussed. The upcoming v1.3.1, that cleans up some annoying bugs (large wallets,win10) and v1.4 that is to be the start of the wallet @jbg envisions.

“Yesterday (Friday) I met with the lead dev @jbg (Slack, he is not on this forum) and we discussed the roadmap in detail and also outlined some additional features and ideas for the medium term. We also discussed hiring a cryptographer / programmer full time to work on the project. I am positive and confident at this stage that we can bring a stable and anonymous crypto to the users as promised and that once we are past 1.4 which will have a completely new UI people will see that we are serious about what are aiming to achieve. We have a very supportive community, highly competent developers and now funding to keep it going.” - Mandica

This is great news especially for many of us that have been around the project for a while and I know we all wish Mandica well.

Developer nuts and bolts
@jbg reports that v1.3.1 is nearly done and he extends apologies for being a little scarce. He’s moving full steam ahead on Spectrecoin. Also, v1.4 and its new User Interface are taking shape and work will begin soon.

Also translations that have been turned in should be up on the website this month! Russian,Korean,Portuguese and Chinese are in @jbg’s hand. Turkish is due the end of this week. Any others...let @jbg or myself know.

Some Final Words
We are a growing community from many backgrounds and cultures. Everyone arrives with enthusiasm and a desire to contribute. We understand!

Please try to understand though….you are probably not the first nor the last to have what you think is the next great idea for an exchange, an article or a promotion.

We could write a book about exchanges...YES, we work on communicating with exchages….YES we know they’re important….the of exchages we currently have is a servicable group exchanges and Spectrecoin will have more.
I shudder to think though what we would face today in enlisting any exchange.
There are things to do though….translations, code to verify and other details….please have patience.

To promote Spectrecoin. The most helpful thing the community can do is use what each of you already has available. Your network of crypto-currency like minded friends. This is a powerful tool that showed results when the community reached out in our respective areas. Let’s do it again!

Before you jump on the Slack Channels and start  posting away…..be sure you’re on topic....LOOK at the channel lists...be sure you’re ON topic and not just spamming the channels. Your neighbors will appreciate it….it also save me removing posts and hurt feelings if or when I do.

Speaking of Channels….announcements_news, general_xspec_only, support_client, offtopic_random are the default channels when you join.

ALL channels can be found by highlighting “Channels”  in the upper left corner …..you’ll see ”Browse All Channels” light up. Then you can choose channels that you may want to add.

In closing...we love you all and look forward to great week!

Until next Monday

Off topic. We're sorry for you. But, this belongs in the Cryptopia thread. Deleted
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: September 04, 2017, 11:12:52 AM
Ok splash and max.....edit that stuff down. If you don't know how to do it ask me.
There is no reason not to have a clean discussion with out seeing the same stuff over and over. 12 hours or its gone

Max the main difference between xspec and the onion patch....xspec is a coin been around for almost a year.
The other is some kind of ...you can have it....whoops nope you're banned.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: September 03, 2017, 03:18:16 PM
Is there anyone that tried to stake the coins on a rasperry pi? I thought about staking some coins with a debian and i think one of these coins will be XPSEC Smiley Very nice to see that the most stakingcoins growing up slowly. Maybe I should add some more long term positions.
I would think you would need to build the wallet from its source code until spectre_jbg finishes a linux wallet. He's the dev at our Slack group...link found in sig.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: September 03, 2017, 03:12:36 PM
Much appreciated....I have some housekeeping above to do to.  Grin
Have you thought about coming to the Spectrecoin slack channel?
Link is in my sig below.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: September 03, 2017, 02:41:30 PM
@ti460 -  We like the format of Gandalf86's coinwiki alot. It's much more versatile and informative.
And in the end....what's the difference? What you call it?
Oh, and  please edit your quotes down to no more than 3....thanks.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: September 03, 2017, 01:32:08 PM
Why when Bitcoin goes down Spectre follows the same pattern? Verge and Crave don't follow this pattern which is nice in my opinion. Most investors don't want to lose their marbles if Bitcoin loses $1.000 overnight

So now you're thinking Bitcoin is going down?
And that one abandoned project and one pump and dump coin are the way to go?  Roll Eyes
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: September 02, 2017, 06:24:01 PM
I think you're getting carried away with your self.
The topic here is xspec....not ramblings.  Roll Eyes

@Cryptohunter @3x2 - Moderator here....I posted about these endless walls of text some folks seem to feel necessary to make a point.
They're distracting, serve no useful purpose and I will not have them in this thread.
Please
clean them up and reduce the size.
You have 12 hours or I will clean them up for you.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: September 01, 2017, 05:22:17 PM
There's plenty for sale on exchanges.
Also. ,  Gandalf86 drew up a great coinwiki.
Easier to update to.
Xspec is pretty wide distributed too'
Its been out almost a year.
So its your call.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: September 01, 2017, 04:57:27 PM
Our tech works....unlike "giveaway" coins.

153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: August 31, 2017, 09:29:26 PM
The Deep Onion moon is one of my reasons for still holding. If that can moon 15x then XSPEC will be at least $5-10.

Deep onion isn't mooning...its dumping at the moment and people are getting blacklisted.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Spectrecoin[XSPEC] TOR+OBFS4, Ring Sig, Stealth! on: August 31, 2017, 09:26:43 PM
You need to edit the links.
I made a sticky in the slack channel with edits too.pinned in marketing
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I have decided to invest in Spectrecoin (XSPEC) now on: August 29, 2017, 09:26:38 PM
......Time will tell, but their airdrop is perfect.
ummm....18,314,055 total supply premined by dev....3,208,936 distributed so far. Lot of strings attached about participation and maintaining post count etc or you miss out of some airdrop....and stirngs about what you can do after you get it. If it ever completes.

Quotes below in "" are direct from the OP on BtCT.

"all accounts receiving distributions will need to keep 90% of the coins received on the account during the whole distribution/airdrop period. Any movements greater than 10% of the airdropped amount will disqualify the account from receiving future distributions."

And.....last but not least....there's this...."Genesis block, premined coins, breakdown; 70% will be air-dropped to the community, while 20% will be used for bounties, rewards and other promotions. Remaining 10% will belong to the dev team."

Wait what??? But, there's NO ICO. So maybe xspec's ico and 5% retained by the devs doesn't look so bad after all.

That's not even counting the so-so tech but, I  have to admit....good marketing.....folks are lined up to get their freebies and have NOTHING invested other than their time posting and annoying everyone....
They're the talk of Bitcointalk for now....like SDC once upon a time.

156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I have decided to invest in Spectrecoin (XSPEC) now on: August 28, 2017, 01:03:58 PM
.....Spectre devs seems greedy for making an ICO!

Last November the ico was launched and over looked by many. Only 5% of the ico proceeds went to three different devs+promotion+ other expenses. That's not exactly greedy and other projects retain(ed) far more. Including the one you're shilling.
Maybe you should check into things before you make off the cuff statements like that.

Xspec is here NOW and fully functional as a TOR+OBFS4 coin on five different exchanges.
Cheers!
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Spectrecoin & XSPEC - Privacy for the Future....Here Today! on: August 28, 2017, 12:35:11 PM
why did you created a new thread?

With all the exciting developments with the Spectreproject and xspec ...the community and the dev felt it was time to "turn the page".
Its now almost a year old and no longer a "new" coin.
A new thread emphasizes this.

Because mandica was missing in action and we had to update (and moderate) the ANN. Now she is back!  Smiley

Just to clarify a little our original dev/mgr Mandica has had a tough time healthwise since April. Our lead dev spectre_jbg took over in June and continues to head the Spectreproject. Mandica is still sidelined with her health issues but is able now to check in from time to time.

Everyone in the community hopes for the best as she deals with her health issues and recovers.

Grin Isn't that a polo trick?
Seriously though, new friends are coming into the Slack so quickly its a little bit of challenge keeping up.

Spectreproject Weekly update
Week ending August 26, 2017

Short of when xspec was distributed to us ico participants....this may have been the most exciting week ever for me.

Slack Update

New Members – Our Slack channel membership is as of this writing  571 Members up from 540 the week before.

The better definition of channels and cooperation of members is starting to work, more and more posts are going to the proper channels making it easier for everyone to follow conversations on the channel topics. Thank you for this.

A reminder.....when posting something with a “link' to an article, pic or video , look for the small “x” to the upper left of the preview. Your link stays but the space grabbing preview closes.

Spectreproject

@jbg mentioned that as a contract developer he was having to balance his dev work with paying clients and the time he could devote to the Spectreproject. Keep in mind all his work since he returned early June has been his own. There had been some donations during theat time as well.

He gave the community a figure of 50k~60k xspec as the amount that would allow him to devote ALL his time until the end of the calendar year.

Within days the Spectreproject community responded by meeting this goal!! Congratulations to all and remember the "donations page"
for any additional you may want to share with @jbg and the Spectreproject. It will always put to good use.

Spectreproject Marketing
It seems everyday we gain ground in this department. Finally the old Spectreproject BitcoinTalk thread is closed and the new thread started a week ago has enjoyed  4900+  views.

Xspec was added to the “Featured Market” scroll on Cryptopia
along with correcting and updating their information.

The “announcements” link on CoinMarketCap now goes directly to the new Bitcointalk thread.

The community has been busy in their respective parts of crypto universe and that's producing results as well. This “grassroots” marketing is the work each of us can to get the word out about Spectreproject......and its definitely is giving us momentum.

Some new members are bringing their abilities and contacts to the project and we'll cover their launches and results next week. We're really looking forward to that!

Spectreproject other news
To be international, a coin and its website must have translations. This past week....Russian,Portuguese, Chinese and Korean are done and submitted to @jbg.

A fine tuning of the website fonts to be more eye pleasing was drawn up by @rkh and voted on by the community, approved and submitted to @jbg who has agreed to update the look.

Xspec Valuation
To repeat...WHAT A WEEK!..The “historical data” tab on Coinmarket cap tells it all. Last Saturday the 19th...xspec was here.
Open  high    low     close    vol    market cap
Aug 19, 2017
0.171003
0.263060
0.170969

And by Friday here.

This past week xspec started a run on the 23rd and has established a new floor in the lower to mid 45 cent range and briefly touched its ATH....64 cents.

Today, the 26th , our market cap is well on the way to 10 million.

Xspec seems to be responding to the combined efforts of @jbg and his crew, a dynamic out reaching community and increasing interest in proven established privacy coins.

Last... but not least, the original dev/manager Mandica has made a few brief appearances after being absent for quite sometime.
We all wish her well as she recovers her health.

 Until Next Week!

Tried it out....now all my coins are gone.
Edit: went back to v1.2.0.0-g and they are there again

Just stay on v1.2 until @jbg announces the official v1.3 for mac.....its a disconnect between the front end and the data folder. Your xspec was never gone.....the ui just couldn't see them. it's all ok.
Stay calm and keep on staking. Cool
