1101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DeepOnion TOR Integrated, No ICO/Crowdfund, Free Airdrop 2nd Round Jul 28 on: July 23, 2017, 04:10:19 PM
I would like to buy 1000 Deeponions, PM me offers

I would also like to buy 1500 Deeponions... Is there a trading thread so we can start to trade it with escrow? thanks

i doubt if anybody that is currently participating in the airdrop would offer to sell his coins.

The rule said that if you move more than 10% of your airdrop out of your wallet, you are disqualified from participating in airdrop

Miners may offer to sell, but who knows what the price would be at exchange, which makes it difficult to speculate whether you are buying it cheap or expensive

Exactly my friend, only time will tell until we know for sure how much the exchange price could be. I think the 10% system is an excellent choice. It allows partial selling or moving without having to completely sit on your coins, at the same time providing reserved admittance to the signature campaign.
I'm very excited for this project, as many projects on this discussion board are sketchy as far as being legitimate.
1102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are Tokens illegal in the USA? on: July 22, 2017, 08:09:34 PM
Everytime when I want to buy there is a small box I have to tick to confirm that im not a US Citizien.
Could someone explain me that? (EOS Tokens are a good example)

SEC: Securities & Exchange Commission
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Securities_and_Exchange_Commission

ICO's operate similar to securities. The owners of ICO's (usually foreigners) don't want to jump through all the legal hurdles of the United States and it's many regulations. These regulations are in place to protect us investers (from broken promises). Initial coin offerings promise tokens that supposedly secure a profit/reward/guarantee of benefits. The U.S requires receipts (proof & registration) if you want to sell these securities.

Are ICO's securities? Yes & No (quantum state of superposition)

You have now entered the twighlight zone (Legal Gray Area of Law) where things are never quite what they seem. The only way to navigate this zone, is to strap in, put on your extra dimensional space helmet, and proceed with caution. These are shark infested waters. You'll need an elite fisherman (financial lawyer) to navigate this sea of complexity.

All satire aside though! Read this below

Good luck, God speed, & Stay safe!

1103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are there any Scam coins? on: July 22, 2017, 10:54:09 AM
Unfortunately, yes there are many scam coins as of today. That's one of the many downsides to having an open decentralized marketplace and open sourced codes. The very same system, founded on honesty and innovation, is bound to have it's negative drawbacks. The only error of course, is human error. Exploiting seems to be our human nature, intentionally, and unintentionally. They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions!
Overall, I think in the long run, many of these scams will fade into obscurity as more people become hip to the process in which the scams operate. Right now, we are in a digital gold rush. People are lunging at any coin, in hopes of it risng to the moon. It's the .com boom and bust all over again.
Just be sure not educate yourself in order to reduce risk of being scammed yourself, as the scams are growing to become more consistent and complex.
1104  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Cryptocurrency regulation? on: July 21, 2017, 06:32:22 PM
No doubt about the future of fiat money: it's gonna be replaced by cryptocurrencies.
But does virtual money need a REGULATOR?
Fiat being completely replaced by cryptos? Not likely...
The current model of cryptos is too sophisticated for the every day consumer. Crypto currency would have to work seamlessly and be implemented into a user friendly interface, so that every one, from children to grandparents can operate successfully without hassle.
Sad to say, but the average joe can barely operate a computer without trouble.
Also, regulation is needed, because freedom without order is anarchy, while order without freedom is tyranny. Centralization on the other hand, is quite complex and debatable.
The core of these same types of problems, centralization, and regulation have plagued civilizations and their societies for over a millenia.
1105  Economy / Economics / Re: How long could bitcoin last? on: July 21, 2017, 02:39:22 AM
I think the question of, "how long can bitcoin last?" is too broad of a question. Bitcoin itself is stable because of it being backed by a fairly strong community, and is constantly adopting new users. Altcoins are the result of inspiration conceived through Bitcoins model and system. It is highly possible that an altcoin may very well surpass Bitcoin in everyway, shape, and form in the future.
The reason why bitcoin is open sourced isn't strictly because of the fact it is decentralized.  It is open source because it's an idea meant to help create benefit to all. Bitcoin is just a tiny seedling, that when fully ripe, will yeild a harvest like never seen before. It's a world changing platform the leaves room for people to build off. An archetype , and example that paves the way.
Bitcoin may disappear,  but the dynamic of the coin will continue to expand and evolve for years to come.
1106  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase and the Fork on: July 21, 2017, 02:18:05 AM
I too received the same email this morning. I think the best bet, depending on the value of coins held at coinbase is to 1: transfer coins to a private wallet whereas you have access to both public and private keys. The safest bet is cold storage, but if your bag is small and your not too concerned about the potential risk of lose, then leave them in place.
I have less than $30 worth of bitcoins in my account, chances are I might leave them there, but again, thats my opinion. As far as explaining segwit and the hard / soft fork, I was hoping some one would enlighten me as well, concerning the implications, and potential impact of these changes.
1107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DeepOnion TOR Integrated, No ICO/Crowdfund, Free Airdrop 1st Round Jul 21 on: July 21, 2017, 01:34:14 AM
hello, first thank you for airdrop (.008) secondly my rank has changed from full to senior member.   ive re read some posts but cant find link for updating signature.

I posted this question as well and didn't get an answer.  Inevitably many of us will rank up as this airdrop proceeds.  I don't want to risk changing the signature if it could potentially disqualify for future airdrops.  Hopefullly we can get some clarification on this.
My sentiments exact, as I'm only 10 posts or so away from reaching member status. I've been a member of the forum for a few years, but only recently as of this year, have started to become active again.
Another thing that has been urking me, I just signed up for the campaign this morning. I'm pretty close to the 10 required posts needed to receive the airdrop. Is it too late to receive this weeks airdrop by tommorow? I wonder how they keep track of it all? Hmmm  Huh
1108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DeepOnion TOR Integrated, No ICO/Crowdfund, Free Airdrop 1st Round Jul 21 on: July 21, 2017, 01:24:33 AM
No bounty campaigns, just profit? Wow, nice. DeepOnion will be a good coin, I suppose. How can I in?

There are bounties for the campaign. The front page lists in complete detail, the requirements to successfilly qualify for the signature campaign. The minimum rank needed to receive airdrop is jr. Member status. The higher your post rank for this forum, the higher the amount of onions received.
Also, your bitcointalk account must be aged maturely and in good standing (no negative feedback) before july 14 2017, any date after the fact "if I'm not mistaken" may not qualify.

Then again, please refer to the front page of the thread for complete details.

1109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How the future of bitcoin will look like on: July 20, 2017, 10:58:11 PM
I made a video trying to show what the future of bitcoin will look like.
Since the altcoin market in totally blowing up upwards, I'm getting a bit scared that it will go down again soon. It's not a healthy growth, is it?
So, for me a safe harbour of wealth and stability is bitcoin, that's why I keep up the weight at ~30% in my portfolio.
Do you guys agree on how the future will look like? Any remarks? I tried to be as objective as possible.

Cheers,

Yes it is wise to stay loyal to the flagship brand of bitcoin, as it is the lead and founding coin. It serves as the archetype for cryptos now and soon to come. I'm afraid I might be speculating here when I say this...
Bitcoin is the model on which a better idea will arise. That is how (I believe) it was designed, the reason for it being an open source project, with De-centralization being it's key theme.
In a world where old systems are on the verge of teetering,  a rebirth of a new system or idea that may take the old systems place or at least become a beacon and model to learn from.
So, I don't think it is bitcoin itself that is the staple of our financial future, but in fact the very model on which it was built upon.

However

Only time will tell...
1110  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Why hasn't any government stopped Bitcoin? on: July 20, 2017, 04:46:38 PM
At the early stages Russia ruled it as illegal, China outlawed all withdrawals and some other country also spoke against it. But now everything seem to be smoothing up at least on the government side. Surely Bitcoin must be seen as challenging their authority. Is there something I am failing to see? All it would take is a 51% attack or a new law.

It isn't so easily answered. Bitcoin is fairly new technology. To completely shut it down would be to impede technological innovation.
Before any decision to remove it completely (less likely to happen), it would have to go through a series of heavy regulation first.
Bitcoin and blockchain technology opened the door to a digital alternative financial system, free of centralization. It is a gateway that could lead to decentralizing almost everything. Bitcoin operates in a bit of a legal gray area for certain instances. Most of the regulation comes from turning it to fiat, which is regulated. Bitcoins value is determined by a combination of  supply and demand, and the system it's built upon.
If everyone were to drop bitcoin today and move on to something else, it's value becomes nothing. The system in place is collectively agreed upon, the more people that adopt and contribute, the bigger the expansion of system and it's value.
You can most certainly believe that the big boys (governing bodies) are keeping their eye on this movement and a few are most likely making a profit from it. It is interesting to watch nonetheless, but even more so to participate. Exciting times we are living in my friend.

1111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alt Coins on: July 20, 2017, 03:53:50 PM
What other coins are worth buying that may go up in price??

The best way to find that out is to check the marketcap, and volume on exchanges. Studying the charts, graphs, timeline, and community of a crypto coin can give you a more accurate insight on the potential movement of a coin.

 Cool
I have successfully downloaded the windows client, registered with the airdrop, and received the bonus.
At first I had a bit of trouble, but the tutorial for the .conf creation solved everything.
I will try to be more active posting in the forum to meet the requirements for the airdrop.

Thank You
1113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Comprehensive list of Upcoming ICOs on: July 19, 2017, 11:58:43 PM
Are there any U.S based ico startups? I think most are based overseas.
I've been researching alot and am trying to stay within the legal bounderies of U.S regulation (even though ico's operate within a bit of a legal grey area). I don't want to make an investment until I fully understand how to navigate the waters.
Could any one provide any help?

 Thanks!
1114  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Making a living off of bitcoin faucets, is it actually possible? on: July 19, 2017, 11:44:51 PM
Fortget about it. Bitcoin faucet are time wasting.
Post on this forum, become a member and then register for a signature campaign, you'll make way much more.
Thank you, you have been very inciteful. I too have been considering using the faucets for a few satoshi. I've always wonderd about the signatures people displayed. This micopayment sub section is awesome!

Cool I can't wait. This will hopefully be my first airdrop. Still not sure what im supposed to do exactly?

Hello everyone,
I would like that each one participates in sharing the different sites shopping online (International) that accept the bitcoin, as well as different ways to spend BTC, thank you.

You can make purchases on Amazon with BTC.

Duly noted,  Cool

1118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of so-called "anonymous" coins (XMR, SDC, AEON and DASH) on: October 02, 2016, 01:36:17 PM
Monero broke number of records (price, trade volume), but it looks like many people believe that SDC and AEON will follow its trend. One can argue if the XMR growth can be called "organic", but my personal opinion is that this is a pure speculation. Both ShadowCash and Aeon have never reached such prices and volume (you can check their history) and I think that investing in them at this point could be called dangerous.

Dash on the other hand is in decline (imho, it could not be called "price correction", because these dumps followed the Monero news).

I'm not sure who is going to "win" the "war" between anonymous digital currencies, but you should think twice before deciding to invest in some of them.
P.S. Personally I don't really care about any of these coins (i.e. if they succeed or FAIL).

Cheers,
Spartak

Darksilk will be on the market in the weeks to come, but that seems like a coin that will require patience and long term support, I guess it's still too early to speculate. We should strive to keep this thread alive. People always flock to the latest trend, the problem lie's within identifying the pattern, organic v.s hype.
1119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Japanese TV Show “BitGirls” launches with a girl group ICO on: September 29, 2016, 04:07:39 PM
Though it may seem like a bad idea, it could end up being a quick flip for speculators. Lord knows, how many coins I've missed out on that was an easy profit. Reminds me of an old 90s cartoon skit, "Good idea, Bad idea". Best of luck though, on your business venture.
