661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be used as a donation to the church on: July 29, 2018, 07:58:03 PM
I like where this is going, I never really thought about what blockchain can provide for charity. The church of the future just may pass around the collection plate digitally! I can see the attendees receiving a crowd/group text, asking to make a secure donation through the crypto payment option.
662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NO! Do Not Invest all you have on Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies on: July 28, 2018, 11:59:29 PM
I am not a licensed expert, nor am I qualified to offer financial or legal advice. I'm just stating my opinion.

Never make an investment with any amount you can't afford to lose. Only use what might be considered as disposable income, that is to say, any amount in which you feel comfortable with and won't lose sleep over if you lost it. This goes for any investment you may decide to make, not just cryptocurrency.

Remember to practice your due diligence.
663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung announce to accept crypto and blockchain payment on: July 28, 2018, 11:56:24 PM
There is good news to customers in the Baltic nations of #Latvia, #Estonia and #Lithuania,as #Samsung (one of the largest technology company in the world) has annouced to accept crypto and blockchain payments in the region using the Lithuanian-based payment platform, CopPay
I hope more major platform continue to accept digital currency payment.
If this news is true, then that seems like good news. It means that people are beginning to put a little bit of faith in cryptocurrencys. Samsung is a household name, this just may be the small start of a big step that will lead to greater adoption of cryptocurrencies.
664  Economy / Economics / Re: What happens if bitcoin price falls below the cost of mining it? on: July 28, 2018, 08:46:13 PM
Would bitcoin be able to recover? Are we safe since 80% of bitcoin has already been mined?

I remember it happened once in 2011 (https://www.themarysue.com/price-bitcoin-falls-below-mining/amp/).
If Bitcoin ever falls short it might not necessarily be the end. There are numerous alternatives on the market that offer a plethora of utilities that supersede Bitcoin's. Though I feel that a true successor (Bitcoin 2.0) has not yet arrived, instead, the market has many platforms which offer completely different options from Bitcoincoin's blockchain, solving the scaling, speed, and other issues plaguing the network.
665  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the most influential factor that triggers bitcoin prices to fall down? on: July 28, 2018, 08:40:36 PM
Bitcoin is very volatile. It goes up and down at no time. But I started to think what causes its values to go down. These past few days, its prices are notably lower that last year's values. Last year, I believe, during the first few months, its prices are likewise low. Do bitcoin prices go down every January to February? Does it have a logical association?

Price is determined by supply and demand, long term supply is relatively stable so the changes are all due to falls in demand. Short term there are a variety of reasons for the recent slump:

Uncertainty over regulatory changes in South Korea and China
Bitcoin futures expire (today I believe)
Chinese lunar new year

The last one is perhaps the one that you can draw the most on in terms of a recurring pattern. The last 4 years the market has crashed a few weeks in advance of the Chinese Lunar New Year, presumably as people look to sell crypto to fund travel and expenses, it is the single biggest holiday in the world.

There are other reasons you could argue as to why the market crashes each January, other holidays like Christmas would also come in to it, as in January people are generally tight for money many may sell crypto or many may just not be in a position to buy more.
Excellent analysis, many overlook the subtleties when it comes to determining which factors are triggering the fall. It takes brilliant assessment skills in order to come out on top, I for one, need to continue to educate myself, in order to become a wiser and more successful investor!
666  Economy / Economics / Re: Be greedy when others are fearful... on: July 28, 2018, 08:36:34 PM
I agree, it takes the skill of discernment in order to make an accurate forecast in such a volatile market. The slightest bit of stimuli can cause fluctuations, which if one is not careful, could prove to be costly. He has made his fortune, so I personaly take his words to be precious like gemstones. Men like him are usually two to three steps ahead at every turn.
667  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-28] SEC Commissioner: Bitcoin Is Regulated And Mature Enough To Have An on: July 28, 2018, 12:41:58 PM
It would be great if they could pass it through, the excitement would certainly cause the market prices to soar. This potential to rise at the slightest bit of stimuli is one of the very reasons for the proposals rejection.
I believe that in the fututre, a coin of Bitcoin's magnitude will emerge, solving this very dilemma that's hindering any progression from cryptocurrencies being adopted by the mainstream general public.

668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FAKE ICOs Bounties. What to do? on: July 27, 2018, 09:18:49 PM
I am a newbie just trying to grow on this platform. Within a week of participating in altcoin bounties, 2 bounties I participated in have been reported as Scammers. I get a lot of reads on my articles and Social media pages. I cannot keep encouraging people to invest in these altcoins if they would eventually get scammed. How can new bounty hunters like myself differentiate between a genuine bounty and scammers bounty?
In order to differentiate between the good and bad bounties, you have to practice your "due diligence". If a bounty sounds too good to be true, it just may be. You must study the company thoroughly,  checking their track record if possible, reading their white paper and research any information you can find about the company's team and backround.
With the emergence of opportunities like bounty campaigns, which provide incentives for completing tasks, one must also expect to see the emergence of likely scammers. Go back and retrace your steps by reviewing all of the campaigns in which you feel you have been cheated. Read their whitepaper, check their site, look for any cracks in the sediments, any which may end up crumbling your trust a later time.

669  Economy / Economics / Re: When will smartphones used for bitcoin mining? on: July 27, 2018, 08:49:12 PM
As we all know that smartphones are just like computer nowadays that has strong storage capacity and processor. This I think could be enable to mine bitcoin and this is what I am waiting for if there are any smartphones company that would offer their smartphones for bitcoin mining or even as a smartphone that works as digital hardware wallet for bitcoin and other crypto. I am waiting for it to happen. Do you think that it will happen?

Unfortunately mining is a resource intensive operation, requiring constant upgrades to mining equipment, a luxury that many miners can't afford. It becomes a Rich man's game after a while. Only those with the proper resources end up coming out on top!
670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $Millions in Investment. Why Did Investors Choose Coinbase? on: July 27, 2018, 08:18:22 PM
There are so many Bitcoin address, wallet and merchant providers out there so how did Coinbase manage to get hundred of millions of dollars in funding?

Even as recent as August 2017 Coinbase raised another $100 million in investor funding: https://blog.coinbase.com/coinbase-raises-100m-series-d-led-by-ivp-f5f25cb51019

So why is Coinbase considered such a viable investment for investors rather than other similar products?

Because Coinbase single handedly provided a solution to the money transmission issue that at the time was plaguing "LocalBitcoins" users, simply by the taking the proper legal procedures and carefully following the regulations at the time.
They created a legally compliant Bitcoin exchange that brought the availability of Bitcoin to the common public. The average Joe (with a little know-how) could easily create a Coinbase account and purchase Bitcoin, giving him access to the other coins within the market. Any open minded venture capitalist would have jumped at the chance to be apart of history, had they understood what opening Coinbase would mean!
671  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-27]SEC rejects Winklevoss’s Bitcoin ETF, BTC Bull Loses Momentum on: July 27, 2018, 07:57:13 PM
I think they may not pass any ETF proposal of Bitcoin anytime soon because of the ability of manipulation of the the market through the Wales, or other high stakes holders. It would have been groundbreaking if it they did pass it through though!
Eventually someone will work out all of the regulatory kinks that's preventing any expansion of crypto reaching new heights.
672  Economy / Economics / Re: Mastercard Patent for Speeding Up Crypto Payments on: July 24, 2018, 04:43:00 PM
I came across this information from last week. Looks like Mastercard decided to join the movement. Not by investing but by proposing payment solutions using crypto.
The patent (here)says transaction and storage need to be improved. People will get a user account which they will be able to use with cryptocurrencies
Quote
The transactions themselves would use the fiat currency's payment rails and security features, but each transaction would represent a cryptocurrency.
Look like it will be something like a balance converted automatically. Also I think it can reduce the supposed "illegal activities" and "anonymity" because from what I understand you will have a crypto address linked to a fiat account. Hence "we know who you are".
If a major player like MasterCard starts to implement such solutions I am sure that the crypto will know one of its biggest boost.
Wow, this is great if this turns out to be true. Mastercard is a household name. If they really are deciding to contribute to the crypto economy, then other companies may possibly try to compete with them and eventually follow suit, issuing their own patents for Blockchain tech. It is good to see that people are starting to adopt the blockchain more and more. Could crypto be here for the long run?
673  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-23] Coinbase Prime Snags a $20 Billion Institutional Investor on: July 24, 2018, 04:28:35 PM
News like this just might be groundbreaking, creating the kind of sparks that start wildfires! The fact that institutional investors have taken privy to the Bitcoin ecosystem and all that blockchain has to offer.
If some bigwigs are putting their faith in Coinbase, then it surely must mean good news! With all of the regulations rolling out, the path begins to shape, as investors start to blaze a trail. Exciting times for crypto this year, from the crash to the push for mandatory regulations and governmental guidance, every moment is interesting.
674  Economy / Speculation / Re: What factors make Bitcoin rise again? on: July 22, 2018, 07:57:53 PM
Bitcoin prices rose sharply today, climbing past $7,000 and rising to their highest since June as strong momentum drove gains.
The digital currency's price hit $7,440.25 on the CoinDesk Bitcoin Price Index (BPI), up 11.7% gain from the daily low of $6,663.03.

Link: Bitcoin surge: multiple factors contributing to the rally?

What factors make Bitcoin rise again? Will it continue to rise?
Regulations are the main factor behind the crash, once clear laws and policies become established,  then the price will naturally rise. It won't hit $20,000 again this year, but if the governments are willing to reach a middle ground for the crypto community, then we will most likely see better market prices with organic growth, not artificially manipulated pumps and hundreds of scam ICO's.
The more regulatory action we see, the safer investors will begin to feel, but the more centralized the initiative becomes. It is really a constant tug of war. Be a hero long enough, and you will begin to see yourself become more and more like the bad villain.
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what to do when the market is weakening now on: July 22, 2018, 07:32:57 PM
the current crypto market is so weak, there is no increase in the price of crypto, even the price of crypto is getting down, what should we do when the market weaken at this time?
Revaluation is needed, so self reflection and introspection is key. Compare and contrast investments in your portfolio, research what could be effecting the prices on the market. Many move blindly off of the strength that crypto is the latest get rich quick scheme, shorting their investment cutting their losses. Really think before you sell any shares, or begin investing.
There is no right answer to this question because of the nature of its broadness, it leaves room for nothing but subjective answers. What ever your choice will be, don't forget to practice your due diligence friend!
676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is there still future for digital currency? on: July 22, 2018, 07:22:44 PM
As of now the price of each coin is very unstable, and the price of it just keeps going down. Ive seen a coin last year, that the price of each coin goes rapidly high. Its opposite as of now, almost below expected. Is this the end for the digital currency?
Yes, of course there is. You must first learn to understand the objective, and potentially subjective factors that influence the market and take them into fine consideration.
The market has crashed because the regulators are cracking down on crypto across the globe. With the U.S leading the forefront, several alphabet agency's such as SEC, CFTC, etc, have been passing judgement this year something fierce. The SEC considers many Ethereum related tokens to be securities. For a  while there the community though Ethereum and ripple might be classified as securities. It is a really tough call, there is no choice but to await guidance on the legal matters. Until the regulations are set in place, people will remain unsure and doubtful, which ultimately affects the supply and demand of the market. The jist of it is simple to grasp, yet the details tend to waiver and can be quite sophisticated.
677  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-21] Bitcoin (Almost) Everywhere: 5 Crypto Debit Cards Worth Checking on: July 22, 2018, 01:16:32 AM
Thank you, this article has been bookmarked and is very informative. I am familiar with only one of the cards, I didn't know there were other debit services available besides Conbase-Shift. This is awesome news!I It is nice to see that there are many more alternative options available for everyday commerce.
678  Economy / Economics / Re: Government regulation on cryptocurrency, GOOD or BAD? on: July 22, 2018, 01:07:50 AM
For a scene that emerged from damn near scratch online, to be being a global platform that is starting to see major recognition around the world, Bitcoin has come a long way! With all of this news on regulatory bodies issuing statements and some countries outright unleashing the ban hammer on crypto, the price is somewhat stabilizing.
I'd say these regulations are needed in order to establish compliance, in what seems like an almost lawless frontier that many say resemble the old wild west (metaphorically speaking).
679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: All Airdrops and Bounty campaigns are a scam on: July 22, 2018, 12:53:29 AM
Hello!

Guys are all Airdrops and Bounty campaigns are a scam? any source for trusted ones? or any way to make crypto for free?

Most Airdrops websites are paid by the owners of the projects they don't care if these projects are scam or not since they get their payments in ETH or BTC so I don't trust them!

Thank you!

That's a pretty bold title and say that every campaign is fraudulent, also a pretty bold claim. Now don't figure me wrong, there are numerouss Altcoins/tokens scams rising up what seems like every week now. It really takes patience and a good exercise of your due diligence when investing your time and energy into a bounty campaign.
As with any investment, it is good to research your potential prospects carefully, many enter the scene with the idea that they will get rich quick overnight, but the truth couldn't be any further. While it is possible to make lucrative income investing in crypto coins, coming on to the scene with a mindset of looking to cashout on Ferrari's and Lamborghinis is ludicrous.
680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao on Promoting GCOX Exchange! on: July 22, 2018, 12:34:15 AM
Have you ever heard about the Eight Division World champion Manny Pacquiao who currently beats Lucas Matthysse in Kuala Lampur. I've heard he is one of the notable investor of GCOX ( see https://gcox.com/ ) . Manny Pacquiao is popular in the Philippines and even around the world. What do you think this crypto-promotion/exposure will impact the mass adoption. Do you think this has an effect or just my illusion?
Is there any reference material on this subject and it's possible constituents? The SEC has already warned to be wary of celebrity endorsed crypto related projects. Though he is a superb boxer and proud leader in his country, when it comes to the crypto scene, there are a lot of legal gray areas and uncertainties. If it turns out to be legit, then it sounds like great news, as it could turn out being quite successful.
