Monero features an opaque blockchain (with an explicit allowance system called the view key), in sharp contrast with transparent blockchains used by any other cryptocurrency not based on CryptoNote. Thus, Monero is said to be "private, optionally transparent".
Every Monero address has a private viewkey which can be shared. By sharing a viewkey, a person is allowing access to view every incoming transaction for that address. However, outgoing transactions cannot be reliably viewed as of June 2017. Just checked my cold storage and noticed that I've recently received two very tiny amounts on one of my addresses (same address for both). The last transaction to my wallet, apart from these two, happened more than one year ago...
What is this? Anyone noticed it too? Should I be worried?

Yes, they dusted one of my addresses too. They used 547 sats deposits and many addresses received the same amount. When you check the tx in the explorer it says something about "use full power of anonymity" and blah blah. I checked the "dont spend" in coin control tab in Electrum and forgot about it. Yes, exactly. Same amount on mine too. I guess someone wanted to "mark" our addresses... I haven't seen a "Don't Spend" option in Trezor. Will check it out. Thanks. You want to do 'coin control' to not lose privacy. If you for example consolidate addresses (even unknowingly because the balance of two addresses needs to be combined to do a single payment), the dust attacker now knows which other address(es) you own. Nice to see some exchanges doing the right thing I don't like exchanges deciding for their customers what to buy, it is a slippery slope. Even when total scamcoins a red flashing banner it is not Bitcoin but a shitcoin would suffice as well. |

- Create a wallet on the PC named julia
- Purchase a Trezor Model T
- Restore the wallet Julia on Trezot Model T
- I have two Julia wallets (one on the PC and the same wallet on the Trezor)
If i wanted to restore a wallet on a Trezor device which was initially created on the PC, is that possible?
No, because your Trezor uses a different seed. You need to transfer the XMR from the 'PC wallet' to the 'Trezor wallet'. |
