81  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you feel that the global economy is declining? on: April 18, 2024, 09:57:35 PM
The value of your friend's salary has declined, that is a fact. Even though its face value is continuously increasing due to appraisal, bonuses, and promotions, the things that can be bought with it has surely diminished over time. The prices of goods are continuously rising, and it does not match the salary increases across all economies. This is why it's important to have a hedge on what we receive for our salaries, perhaps gold, crypto, or other investments that are outperforming the inflation on our own countries.

If we're looking at 5 years, then I agree that in many countries, including mine, things are getting worse. Salaries are higher in local fiat, of course, but the purchasing power is lower than it used to be, so to improve your life, you need to be in active career growth to outrun these changes.

Even promotions no longer provide security against inflation. Unless you're promoted into an executive position, most promotions only increase your responsibilities but not the reward based on my experience. Companies no longer value their best performing employees, they just use them for their own benefit.
82  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever Projected how to spend gambling profits while the game has not played yet? on: April 18, 2024, 08:45:49 PM
This is why you don't count your chickens before they hatch. It could lead to a lot of disappointments and frustrations, especially if you have already planned to do something on your winnings. It's not uncommon for people to visualize and allocate their winnings right even before they have it on their hands. I did this before and boy it was a bad experience for me, as I was already hoping that I could something the next day should I win the bet that I placed now.

Funny how most people still have not learned from gambling lessons; they still feel like they are in control of the game, and as such, they just want every game to play the way they predict it to, which is one of the worst expectations for anyone to have and put their hope on.

At the end of the day, the odds are always stacked against us in gambling, no matter the type of game we are playing. Gambling is created as a form of entertainment to those who can afford it, and to make money to those who run it.

It’s obvious that your friend overrated himself with his too much confidence in the game, which ended the other way around. The only luck that he had was that he had not even preordered anything, hoping to pay once he cash out of the game, because that could have been a total different case here.

If I were that friend and I had pre-ordered anything, I'd definitely go into hiding and disconnect all my numbers and socials for at least two weeks after the expected delivery! It's embarrassing to pre-order something you don't have the money to pay for, especially in front of your friends for the sake of bravado Cheesy

83  Economy / Economics / Re: bots and AI on: April 17, 2024, 02:19:52 PM
People are trying to integrate and use AI for everything. If advanced AIs for coding handled by the giants in the field are failing to do a simple program, what more if the task is to create a working coin with tokenomics and all the prerequisites to make it feasible for the public to buy? The problem with AI is that it needs to be trained with the correct data set and just the right bias in order to be successful. If those data sets and biases include even a slight error, your AI will result into something that will also produce errors.

Obviously, human inputs are still needed to make sure that the AI will work properly, be it search indexing or coin creation. These things aren't ready on its own and will always need the guidance of Man to work smoothly.
84  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Rise of eSports Betting on: April 17, 2024, 04:50:41 AM
A lot of people still don't consider esports as something serious because they are still into the mindset that traditional sports are far superior and should be the only one to bet on. Little do these people know that esports have already caught on in terms of viewership and sponsorships from huge companies, and it's only a matter of time before it becomes bigger than it is right now.

Dota 2, CS:GO, and LoL tournaments are the only recognizable esports games for a lot of people today. This is quite understandable because these games are the staple for esports for a long time. There are other games out there like Valorant and Starcraft that aren't receiving the same support because most of the money funnels into the three games above, and there isn't a huge market for the latter games just yet when it comes to esports betting. Hopefully in the near future it grows into something like the big three, but at least there is a start in the gambling scene for these games right now.

I think right now we are experiencing the fall of eSports betting rather than the rise of it. Though 2019 to now so many good players resigned, became free agents or entire teams disbanded. It's ridiculous to see that for them there is better money in streaming rather than being in a team.

The sponsors and the gaming companies have reduced the money they invest in tournaments too much. Of course now there are more tournaments but the quality has reduced drastically along with the budget and the rewards. Many tournaments these days even don't have any rewards. The golden era was around 2013 to 2018 probably

You can also blame the organizations and the tournament bodies themselves with such a decline in the esports scene. Most of them have resorted to greed, and only a small portion of the profits from these events actually go into the pockets of players. Even I as a player would surely be demotivated if this is what's happening in the scene wherein I spent hundreds if not thousands of hours just to be good at.
85  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥🔥 HugeWin.com Presents Mega Jackpot and Bonus Deals for Casino Lovers 🔥🔥 on: April 16, 2024, 05:06:42 AM
Welcome to the community!,

I guess I want to give a small feedback on the website, first with the login, i guess there's another word suitable with your register, seems like its too long to read for newcomers in short it's just a signup. Ideally, use a universal design if possible.

Next is with the registration ideal to use a "Re-type Password" rather than having the word "Password (Again)".

The rest with the navigation panel to me is good, but the user profit i guess its quite an old design. For the deposit and withdrawal, I haven't tried yet.

This is also some of my gripes regarding Hugewin's website. During my sign-up, I was confused as to why the username field has that similar text on the top of the box. Also, for non-English speakers, the sign-up button would be confusing as they wouldn't know what kind of 'privilege' are they signing up to. It could be anything that they are not aware of, and might even deter new users from signing up.

The background of the site can also use a little bit more transparency or blur just for it to not hurt the eyes when users are scrolling. The games displayed on the front page is a lot easier to understand for common casino folks but it won't hurt to show featured games from providers at the top of the page, too.

IMO, the site needs som little tweaks here and there and it would be a cleaner, more professional-looking gambling platform--at least for me.
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making bets with my stupid friend on: April 15, 2024, 08:29:46 PM
Ah, we sometimes do this too whenever we have something that we can't agree on, and the risked amount usually just goes towards something that we enjoy, i.e. drinks at a bar or food on the go. Idk, I never really took my friends' money when I win a bet against them, as I don't think it 'counts' as a real gamble. We just risk something in order to prove a point and that's it. Sometimes though, the conversations become a bit too much heated that bets no longer matter but rather who is right or wrong in the end.
87  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest on your dependants if you too must grow further on: April 14, 2024, 10:01:09 PM
It's equally important to let those who depend on you know how to make their own financial moves as well. If they know how to make use of the money they have and make it work for them, it will ease the burden of your financial responsibilities to them in the long run. This way, they will learn how to be financially independent from you and not depend everything on you as the breadwinner since they are making their own money anyway.

People who only know how to provide material things but not provide knowledge are usually the ones who end up as exhausted in what they do. Since those who are depending on them only know how to receive but not work for themselves, they will end up depending on these providers for a long time which might eventually turn relationships sour.

A lot of avenues and resources are available nowadays to learn a skill or two. It's best to spark their interest in learning how to make money and teach them everything you can, and it's up to them if they'll do something about that knowledge or not.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Neymar being addicted to online poker on: April 14, 2024, 08:18:07 PM
I think most of the athletes have their not so dark secret in terms of gambling. When they're still a dreamer and wanting to give the best life for their family, they're able to achieve that by being a star or by just simply signing a contract.

Now after that comes the harder part and that's about how they can contain and control themselves not to be spendthrift with their money. Because when you have the money, everything is accessible and easy to do.

We've got athletes, celebrities and even a commoner becomes addicted so, it's not surprising to see such news about one has seen gambling on some random videos.

And it's quite alarming to see that it has become so commonplace that a lot of people have become desensitized to it, even thinking that what these athletes do are something to be idolized and in turn, people will also do it even though they don't have the means to do so. The youth is who's the most affected from these activities by these athletes and superstars - and no, this doesn't mean they shouldn't do it, but perhaps people like Neymar should do it privately or not let other people document him doing it.

Then again, it's up to those who watch these guys if they will follow their footsteps even in that direction or not. IMO Neymar isn't doing anything wrong apart from prioritizing his gambling activities over his daughter's birthday, but still it's going to translate to a lot of youths thinking that gambling is cool just because their idol is doing it.
89  Economy / Gambling / Re: AVIATRIX | NEXT GENERATION OF CRASH-GAMES | EARLY BIRD BONUS on: April 14, 2024, 07:35:47 PM
I won 19 euros and the wager requirements are x50 to unlock it... but it's a bit strange, my plane level is going up, but it looks like I am playing with demo money. A bit confusing, but I will play around a bit more and see where it takes me.

Lol. I was confused as well with the free bets.

I initially thought they'd let me deposit money after the free bets were all used up however there was nothing and all I could wager was the demo money. So yeahhh, it's all demo.

Same thing happening here. I figured maybe I need to lose all the demo money, but when I try to bet all in I just win again and again. I just stopped playing a while back and would wait for other people or even OP himself to clear the confusion.

Overall, I like the design of this crash site - with planes (lol). It makes for a somewhat engaging platform though a bit dark when you think about it (planes = crash Grin)
90  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [GUIDE] Best Crypto Investment Opportunities for Passive Income -2024 on: April 13, 2024, 11:40:30 PM
The problem is that you have to be lucky to be included in the number of investors, since there are many more applications than there is a need for. And those who once managed to become an investor hold on to their places, so it’s difficult for new users to get a slot.

If this is the case, then shouldn't its ratings be lower if there's some element of 'luck' that is involved in securing your slot alone? They have a very good business model to be able to provide that kind of returns to their investors, then again not everybody will ever have a shot in putting their money into the platform.

Freebitco.in has been an active player in the space for over a decade now. Their investment program is not the 'best' when it comes to returns, but they still offer good returns on one's investment and is consistent to it. Of all these investment opportunities listed here, I think freebitco.in is the only one who, IMO, could provide someone with a consistent return on their deposits. The scam accusations against them are also not that severe unlike other names on this list, which could also boost the confidence of investors wanting to try them out.
91  Economy / Economics / Re: Counting the cost of a ww3. on: April 13, 2024, 11:30:23 PM
I wouldn't be concerned about inflation going rampant or recession being just around the corner with all these armed conflicts between nations. What I would think about is whether or not it could escalate into a more severe conflict that could cost more than what the world economy is worth - existence of humankind. The Iran v Israel conflict right now might just escalate into a more severe conflict and not just a series of retaliation. Should that escalate into a more serious war, I'm pretty sure other countries with conflicting ideologies might just pick sides just to have a reason to go to war with each other.

Bitcoin's price and value will not matter if at the end of all this, technology is rendered useless and we're back to using primitive technologies just to get by. Hopefully that doesn't happen, but with all of these conflicts happening here and there, I couldn't help but think that chaos is just right around the corner.
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Neymar being addicted to online poker on: April 13, 2024, 10:34:07 PM
Neymar has access to hundreds of millions of dollars. He can practically do anything he pleases with the money, unfortunately he chose to use the money to his enjoyment and not spend time with his kid that celebrates her birthday. Poker is always there, and you can pretty much just go back to it anytime you like. However, birthdays happen only once a year. That single day can make all the difference to a growing child's memory between a good father and a father that prioritizes his enjoyment over the child's.

This man is great in a lot of people's books, but this simple event that happened is enough for a lot of those people to think that Neymar might not be someone who they think he is. On the field he's a beast -- a legend, many would say. But in real life he's just like a lot of people whose priorities are not straight when it comes to their family. Sure, he can provide and can basically give his family a good life. Then again, money isn't everything when it comes to raising a family.
93  Economy / Economics / Re: Governments and their irrelevant projects just to steal public funds on: April 12, 2024, 09:12:50 PM
At this point, any project that a known corrupt government presents will always be deemed as something negative. I can't blame the people as they're the ones experiencing poverty and hardships in the first place. They know the struggle more than anyone else.

These simple projects often line up huge money for those who are in charge especially if there is a system to which they can siphon the public funds effectively. I often see such projects here in the Philippines as well. They don't really amount to anything for the public, but they are done nonetheless to make people think that the government is using the public's money for the public.
94  Economy / Economics / Re: Will inflation become big challenge for retired people after 10-20 years? on: April 11, 2024, 06:36:33 PM
It sure will. If these retirement funds aren't put to use as investments, they will surely get screwed over by inflation over time. These funds stay as it is on their fiat values and isn't adjusted in any way by the banks that hold them. Even if you managed to hold $1M during your career, expect that it will go down by value by at least 10% in a decade. Better hold your assets in precious metals, crypto, or other such assets that can hold value over time if you want your retirement fund to really work out for you.
95  Economy / Economics / Re: When your Fiat currency fail, reboot and launch a new one -Zimbabwe ZiG on: April 11, 2024, 09:50:42 AM
This will just be the same as before. Nothing will happen to this 'rebranding' of their currency and it will still end up in massive inflation if they don't cut the problem at the source. Apparently, it seems like the Zimbabwean officials themselves are the problem and not their currency. Rampant corruption, mishandled economy, and a lot other problems they aren't talking about since they are busy passing the blame on their failed currency and not themselves who, by the way, are the policymakers and enforcers of the rules they create.

Give it a month or two and they will have the same problems all over again. Their own citizens have lost faith to their own currencies a long time ago, and launching a new one every X amount of years isn't the solution to this problem.
96  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is lack of proof a problem for you or not? on: April 09, 2024, 03:52:40 AM
Having a license to operate does not guarantee the legitimacy of a gambling platform.

There are tons of gambling platforms out there that carry Curacao license. A lot of them have also went under after scamming people or just can't continue operating due to issue in funds. For me, I'd probably check what licenses does this casino have, and I might still play in them if they have Curacao license or even no license at all, but surely not in a long time.

For a lot of gamblers though, they seem to not be bothered if a platform has a license to operate so long as a lot of other people play on the same platform. Confidence in numbers perhaps, but that is too flawed of a concept that will surely bite them back sooner or later.
97  Other / Meta / Re: What should be done for this kind of useless topic? on: April 08, 2024, 06:30:06 PM
I guess the main point of this post is to funnel people's attention towards 1xbit, which is at the end of the whole post just so you read all what the OP is to say. The best thing to do to these posts is just report it and the mods will pick it up from there.

I see that there has been some kind of 'resurgence' to anything 1xbit related. It could have been that they're trying to promote that scam site again thinking that our hate against the said platform has since died down.

If you are unable to do this, you will need your staked bitcoin address or the address that you have used before on this forum for the recovery.

Recovering hacked/lost accounts
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5089777.msg48896084#msg48896084

This is what I did when my account was hacked back in 2015 due to an attacker gaining root access to bitcointalk's server. It was a pretty straightforward process that only took only a day for theymos to check and my account was back after that.

It's a good thing that users stake their bitcoin address on this post because it can be handy whenever someone got their account hacked and the attacker changed the email address on the said account.
