261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Demand for bitcoin exceeds supply by a factor of ten? on: February 20, 2024, 04:17:24 AM
You forgot to take into account the existing coins that are being traded in the market on the daily.

That 900 being minted daily is on top of the circulating supply, too, so there's no undersupply or overflowing demand happening as the circulating supply kind of fills in those demands. It also goes up and down every single time, and you can't expect a bear market to keep a consistent demand similarly to that of a bull run.

Now if demand somehow overshoots and most bitcoins in circulation already belong to a lot of hands, you know what's next. However in the mean time that's not happening, as there are still loads of bitcoin available for grabs in exchanges and people are still not having that extreme FOMO that occurs during bull runs.
262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Owner of 8K bitcoin lost in landfill threatens to bankrupt local council on: February 20, 2024, 02:29:41 AM
What drives him is not logic nor reason but rather his insanity and regret. I don't understand how it would be the local council's fault if he trashed his hard drive knowingly. If he were to be granted rights to dive into the landfill and possibly get the hard drive, what are the chances that it's not severely damaged by corrosion and other elements? It's been years, and even the strongest metal, when exposed to the chemicals, moisture, and other such things in the landfill, will corrode or possibly even disintegrate. It's time to give up that 8k bitcoins. This dude is just moved by false hopes.

Post some vods or replays in YouTube and send it here then perhaps people might be interested if they think your content is the right one for them. Selling yourself in a forum wherein people would rather just play themselves than to watch other people do it is hard. If you have the charisma and the natural ability to entertain people, one post of your vod will have people be instantly interested in your content.

Plz anyone help plz

I don't know how being a girl will help with your case but that transaction has very low fees (6 sat/B). Either you will have to wait for a long time (surprise) or have a paid accelerator do it for you. Also, there is a possibility that this transaction is already dropped by some nodes and only a handful remains holding on to it. In essence, your bitcoins still lie on where it was sent from. You can try and import that wallet to another wallet and raise the fee from there. That's what I did with the same issue as you have. Accidentally placed a very low fee when the mempool is filled with transactions over 30 sat/B while I have mine set at 13 sat/B.

266  Economy / Services / Re: 3 Jobs available on: February 19, 2024, 01:33:30 AM
It says there that I will need to bid at least 1 eth in order to secure a job that is supposed to give me money in exchange for my skills alone. Why is this so? If I'm looking for work, I don't want to pay money upfront to receive said work. How is this site named working for bitcoins when I have to have some money first before I can start working? Huh

Also, that 15 ETH posting for a data entry job is sketchy.

You are Bidding on the Job, when bidding on a job, you are indicating how much you'll charged to do the work. This is different than bidding for an item/product/service, where you are indicating how much you will pay for it.

That makes sense. I tried sending my bid and see what comes up with the offer. I'm interested in knowing what kind of jobs are there that is legitimate and is worth of my time since I literally just work 20 hours a week and have a lot of time to burn somewhere else.

268  Economy / Gambling / Re: What would you like to ask a crypto casino owner? on: February 17, 2024, 06:40:18 PM
What fascinates me with casinos is how can they stay liquid and profitable in a sea of crypto casinos vying for the same customers? There's just tons of crypto casinos out there that it's hard to be on the top unless you spend a lot in advertising and promotions. How do they stay on the positive side? Even if casinos are purposely built to always win in the long run, if the space is cutthroat, I guess it will be hard to make some money off it. Like, how do they do it?

Another thing is, why do most casinos hire shitty customer support representatives? I worked in that field, and even I know that one can easily respond to emails within an hour, and I used to handle 3 different live chats plus 1 email support on the side, and I can close out tickets and respond to everyone within 15 minutes. Where do they source their people?

270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do people truly risk their money on bets for profit? on: February 17, 2024, 11:30:55 AM
You're a hypocrite if it never crossed your mind to make money off of gambling.

Most of the gamblers I know are in it for the money, and not for the entertainment that other people seek. It's possibly because they saw other people making money off it, and they want to be in a similar position to escape their boring day jobs or just make money doing something that they think is easy.

They truly risk their money, in the false hopes of making more than what they originally staked for.
271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most challenges faced by gamblers on online casino platforms? on: February 15, 2024, 11:58:32 PM
Most of the issues I have with casinos of recency are how fucking assertive they've become with forcing gamblers to deposit money in their gambling accounts. It's not like they'll lose access to these wallets anyway cause as far as I know crypto wallets are immutable and would remain existent regardless if it has crypto in it or not. But the way these casinos just force their users into depositing money by means of including it in the sign-up process is quite an audacious move if I do say so myself.

I wanna have those old casinos which are just chill and are more honest when it comes to taking care of their gamblers. Those who don't force you into depositing money from the get-go and are okay with you not depositing money for months on end cause sometimes it's just that slow and it's not like you're gambling everyday.

That is how they make money, and they don't know that it's also one of the reasons why people just turn their backs on them.

I remember back in the days where only a few crypto casinos were existing, they just simply let you be and even have a faucet integrated in the platform just to let users try their casinos when they're out of balance. Gone are the days wherein casinos are proactively wanting to let you stay without those intrusive ads or notifications of making a deposit by providing you the best experience even when you're out of funds.

Those email notifications as well - even if you don't subscribe to it, they'll continuously send you promotional emails to get you to deposit even when you don't want to.
272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be very careful and attentive when selling your bitcoins on: February 15, 2024, 11:48:54 PM
This is why you should always check the order books, see whether the exchange is liquid enough to take on your order, and double check everything before commencing the trade. I'm not sure whether Binance is available on that part of the world, but if it is, then he will not have any problems regarding liquidity. Or he can even try and do a P2P to make sure that he's paid a somewhat fair market price. Ultimately, the neglect is on the end of the seller not checking things before executing the trade. An unfortunately expensive 'charge to experience' moment for this man right here.
273  Economy / Economics / Re: Some persons lacks financial sensibilities on: February 15, 2024, 11:41:40 PM
Ha, Valentine's Day is a product of consumerism and exposure to the fakeness of social media. Back then, if you have a flower and a handwritten letter, that's enough to celebrate Valentine's day. Nowadays, people become so materialistic and addicted to social media that they want to receive gifts and post it for other people's validation and affirmation. I do have a partner and I made it clear that we're not going to spend on fancy dates just because everyone does. Thankfully, she understands and insisted on us going for a quick ride in the mountains with packed lunch. Also, men shouldn't be pressured to always spend in a relationship. If you don't have the money, be honest and sincere about it. If she doesn't accept it, then better find yourself another partner whose capacity to understand your financial status is greater.
274  Economy / Economics / Re: Food security might not be a priority for younger generations. (2) on: February 15, 2024, 11:21:08 PM
I see this as becoming a reality. A lot of millennials and Gen Zs in my workplace are always talking about investments in the stock market and cryptocurrencies. None of them are really interested in acquiring lands or real estate anymore because they believe that it includes a lot of work which, in their opinion, is not worth it since you'll be spending time that equates to money. Buying farmlands is one of my ultimate goals eventually because it will always have value. You will always have the land even if harvest season doesn't go well. Plus, you'll get to help solve the food security issue that most of the younger people don't know about.
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do cryptocurrency increase the standard of living on: February 15, 2024, 11:03:16 PM
News flash: it doesn't. Only those who are smart and lucky enough to get in before everyone else did are the ones who have the chance to increase their standard of living. Most people still think that bitcoin will improve the quality of lives of people, when in fact it's another investment tool that you need to buy before it performs for you. Bitcoin is another currency, not a cure for the disease of poverty. For economic conditions to be better, a lot of things has to change, and bitcoin isn't one of those in the equation to bring the said change.
276  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy pressure on: February 15, 2024, 10:48:03 PM
Other people are forced to find side hustles or a second job. You can't really depend on the government to provide aid or even help those who are in the poverty zone all the time. That's why this day and age is a curse to all the up and coming adults: you can never really raise a family with these wages unless you work double shifts or have another stream of income. That's also why most young adults are choosing not to bear kids, and with it comes declining population. Choose your poison, I guess. You can't have even the most basic of things if you have these people in power running things.
277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Difference between afford to lose and can't afford to lose. on: February 15, 2024, 10:23:46 PM
The difference is that the former can lose and will still have some money to live comfortably and normally, while the latter is hanging by a thread and, once lost, will have more problems than what they initially have. This is what I don't understand with people who are staking their last money into gambling with the thought that they can always win. With this line of thinking, they have wasted the chance to slowly but surely attain their goals by purposely hampering it with losses from gambling. If you can't afford to lose, don't gamble. It's that simple.

279  Economy / Economics / Re: Not easy times in the world but how the goverment will improve? on: February 15, 2024, 09:32:01 PM
There's not a one-solution-fix-all the governments are hiding from their citizens. If it is the case then we'll have no problems when it comes to inflation and unemployment. The best thing governments can do is to try to lessen the negative effects but not to eradicate it as that would be impossible. There are different ways to achieve this, such as QE and other such financial techniques, but most of them are inefficient but somewhat 'useful' to an extent.
280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: February 15, 2024, 07:47:57 PM
If it's something you can 'control' for years, then I don't think it's something you can call a problem in the first place.

Things only get to be a problem if it becomes uncontrollable and managed to become one continuously. If you have a negative trait that you can turn off for some reason, then it's not something that can bring problems to you. In the case of gambling, if you can control it for years and not have the urge to play it if you really don't like to, why would it be considered a problem?

Then again, I know that there are instances wherein people just 'snap' out of what they're doing regularly and just be in a period of chaos. It's a possibility, but if you can control something for a long time, then I'm sure you will have the ability to control it too when you enter the time of that said chaos.
