481  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Is WinTomato casino SCAM? on: December 24, 2023, 08:05:17 PM
I came across some complaints of users here on the said casino before, and idk if they were resolved or not. Never really followed the casino, though they've had a signature campaign here I believe. Anyway, just ping their support continuously and ask for an explanation. Don't bother if they eventually block you or not, but update here if they do so other people avoid them. No shady casinos deserve to operate here in this space. Hopefully they make it up to you, but I highly doubt it.
482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to ride and stop! on: December 24, 2023, 07:16:40 PM
It's very easy to really avoid losses if gamblers just know when to stop. Most of the people I know tend to overdo gambling because they are tilted if they not get back what they lost in a casino. It's understandable, but if you do not recognize that you're already playing for and at a loss, your money will eventually run out without you having a clue as to why it happened. I completely agree with testing the waters on a win streak, and immediately stopping after a series of losses. Better to go home with something rather than go home with nothing.

Week#14 has been sent- https://mempool.space/tx/1fec3bc82efb43f3f20e89a71180a395255cdd836fee59bc20a0724d1ef8488b
Not yet confirmed, may take some times.

Just made a transaction last Monday and it took me 3 days to have it confirmed, even with a fee recommended by bitcoinfees.net. It's crazy how 120 sat/vB fee won't get your transaction confirmed even within a day, when it used to have any transaction confirmed within the next block for 20 sat/vB or even less. Anyway, thanks for the update, LM. I hope everyone enjoys the holidays or vacations they are in for the next two weeks.
484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have any one had experiences with banned bank/providers because of gambling? on: December 21, 2023, 11:52:56 PM
I have that happen to me before but it was not a bank, but a local exchange. To sum things up, I deposited some money from my gambling account to this exchange. They asked me for a lot of evidence on whether or not I have the capability to deposit such sum, and even though I showed them the winning slip and the transaction ID from that gambling provider, they still proceeded in banning my account that still has some couple hundred dollars sitting on it.

Some banks or exchanges are very sensitive when it comes to receiving transactions that originated from gambling platforms. I don't know what's the deal with it, but more often than not it's just their AML policies kicking in and you have to be compliant in order to clear you of any suspicions they may have on you and continue working with that bank/exchange.
485  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If there is a war between the US and Europe, Bitcoin will hit $1 billion on: December 21, 2023, 11:48:29 PM
And with that, $1B will also be worthless. Have you really realized the repercussions of a war in the grand scheme of things? It's not only the economy that is at stake but also millions of lives. People have always been theorizing about a possible 3rd world war, but in reality, no one will ever want that to happen, nor would there be anyone who's really willing to fight a war that isn't really needed.

Bitcoin could be the least of your concern if US and EU were to declare war with each other. It should be your survival.
486  Economy / Economics / Re: Are fast-fashion shopping apps hurting local economy? on: December 21, 2023, 11:33:19 PM
If you can't beat them, join them.
If you're still want to force yourself to sell local product when there's a better choice or cheaper solution from the competitor, don't hope your business will last long.

You need to accept that, the current generation is fast developing, so you must able to catch up with the new trend instead of using conventional/old school strategy.

Exactly. There are a lot of clothing retail stores here that are big and are the go-to places for fits and clothing, but since the advent of online shopping apps, they have since shifted to live streaming their products and getting orders from viewers and that works pretty well for them. One such place even moved to a smaller location, but are active in Facebook and TikTok live with over a thousand viewers everyday. Their social media accounts already have over 30k likes and if that doesn't scream a good business decision to you then I don't know what will.

Brick and mortar stores will still be there for a long time, sure. But with the comfort and ease of access that online shopping apps offer, it's hard to overlook the fact that everyone is already shifting towards the digitization of everything.
487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: December 21, 2023, 11:17:55 PM
Now, here is something a bit different: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? Either you make enough income to call it "adult play", so you do not have real problems, and/or you simply stop for a long time. Then - months or years later - it gets worse again and you are in trouble.
If a gambler can stay away from gambling for a long time, then they can actually stay away from gambling forever. It will just take some more discipline and constant reminder why you stopped.
Is it that easy?
I was able to see several people directly in the area where I live and there were quite lot of gamblers, most of whom had become gambling addicts.
They make various efforts to stop gambling activities and try to truly recover from addiction, indeed some are successful in recovering from addiction but not in stopping forever.
After recovering, they still return to gambling sites to gamble, but there is significant difference, namely that they can be more controlled, they can have limits and of course they can manage the money and time used for gambling.
This is the reality that I know so far in the life of gambling addict.

It is, but you have to be consistent with it, and that's the hardest part that people often not acknowledge. It's extremely hard to be consistent at not doing something especially if that something used to take up the bulk of your time before. My advice is to take up a hobby that consumes a lot of time as well that will steer you away from gambling. Making yourself busy and not allowing any free time for yourself to gamble is one good strategy to lay off the degeneracy once and for all.
488  Economy / Economics / Re: Setting up financial structures before going into the family way on: December 21, 2023, 10:52:44 PM
Even if you're not married, you need to have a good financial to fulfill your needs, now if your financial isn't settle yet, how it's make sense to marry someone when you can't fulfill yourself first?

I think the government need to tighten the rules to marry someone, it's either at least 25 years old for male or he don't need to be 25 years old but he has $1 Million. Tongue

That takes away a lot of freewill and emotional freedom that is written in the law. Perhaps a lot more education regarding finances and coming to age for the younger generations will work. I'm sure this will be met with a lot of resistance from people who we know complains about everything under the sun. Heck, if gender issues are prevalent and there are dedicated groups of people advocating against 'discrimination' and 'equal rights' nowadays, how much more with issues related to preventing human emotions to develop into deeper connections (marriage)?

I'd say just educate people more about it, and perhaps they'll get swayed to not marry or birth another child until they have sufficient money. If the government can do mass brainwashing before, I'm pretty sure they can do it now for a positive result.
489  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does anyone find the spate of online casinos a bit uninspired? on: December 21, 2023, 10:45:52 PM
As for me, online gambling is very inspiring, entertaining and refreshing as long as we know what we are doing, gambling have to do with understanding, as from the way i understand it, such gives us the avenue to enjoy gambling at every comfortability of our choice, this easy access alone is very impressive on many gamblers because online crypto casinos has made all things easy for gambling at any time or any where.

It's obvious that you have not read even some contents of the discussion thus far. It isn't about the value people are receiving from online casinos; it's that most of these new casinos popping up contain almost the same template with different themes applied to it. There's nothing refreshing nor inspiring with that, and it just shows that this formula works since there are a lot of people like you who continuously support such casinos who never bothered doing their own stuff before promoting it to everyone else.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard Rock to Hire 400 People Ahead of Rockford Casino Opening on: December 21, 2023, 10:19:21 PM
Pretty sure there will be a lot of requirements to the jobs they will offer. Nonetheless, it opens up a lot of opportunities for people who are living the area. This is one of the positive impacts of gambling that a lot of people often overlook. There's more to it than just addicts ruining their lives to gambling - there are also people who are being helped by it.

If they offer remote positions, I'd be glad to give it a shot and be happy with doing the boring back-end stuff, though it seems that the openings are only for US citizens.
491  Economy / Gambling / Re: Joya.Casino| Rewarding Casino| Huge Welcome and VIP Bonus| 20% Weekly CashBack on: December 20, 2023, 11:58:32 PM
The KYC process at this casino is rude, we will find requirements like:

Notarized documentation: Your documents may need to be authenticated by an appropriately qualified Notary/Solicitor, signed and stamped as proof of legitimacy upon our request.
This is the only second casino I have seen asking for a notarized documentation during KYC verification. In the other case I saw before, the casino was trying to prove whether the person in question had forged their documents, leading them to lock up his funds and ban the account but in the end the complainant won the case.

I hope this Notarized documentation comes on only in specially cases and not everyone that is trying to verify for KYC

I think this will be part of the standard documentation that a lot of online gambling platforms will require soon. Hopefully not, but with a lot of people being able to forge their documents with ease for verification purposes, it's not far that a lot of casinos will soon require this. I still think that this is too much for standard verification, and that a simple photo of an ID would suffice in most cases. But yeah, this is not under our control, though hopefully if we submit such sensitive information to these platforms, they also handle these documents with utmost care to prevent leaks.
492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: December 20, 2023, 11:19:57 PM
Just going back to this thread again as this was brought up by a friend yesterday. This type of win doesn't usually happen, and you have to be extremely lucky to have all of your bets align and win. One bad leg and your bet is over. It's true that you can be a millionaire with bet builders and parlays, but how much money will you be able to burn before you get to that amount? It takes a lot of time, effort, money, and luck before you get substantial gains from sports betting, that the same effort you spent working yields more consistent results.
493  Economy / Economics / Re: Setting up financial structures before going into the family way on: December 20, 2023, 10:45:46 PM
I won't blame the current generation if they don't want to bother themselves  in things such as marriage, having kids, and things that forces them to spend too much continuously. It's one of the things I also try to avoid since I know that while I'm already financially stable, I still don't have enough money to raise kids or even spend on a marriage. Truth is, no one will ever be financially ready for such big things if they never inherited generational wealth. You'll have to grind your way to the top and that takes a lot of time, and maybe by then you're already in your 40s before you will want to settle down and build a family.
494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Michael Jordan a gambling addict ? on: December 20, 2023, 08:30:18 PM
He's enthusiastic about it, but certainly far from being an addict. If he is an addict, he would have easily lost his fortune and be put into rehab. Fortunately, he has a lot of assets and investments working for his personal wealth that saves him from succumbing to gambling completely. I would say that being a high roller doesn't necessarily mean you're addicted. It just means that you have the money to fund your activities that other people without the financial capacity think is irresponsible. They don't understand why you spend so much because they were never in a position to use that much money anyways.
495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin create an opportunity to reduce poverty? on: December 19, 2023, 11:58:11 PM
This question has been asked far too many times. Short answer is, no, bitcoin cannot end poverty nor poverty can ever be eradicated. So long as there is money, there will be poor people and there will be rich people. There has to be a working class in order to ensure that things get done. If everyone has the same amount of wealth, no one will work another day in their life again and will just consume goods with what money they have.

Bitcoin offered a chance at wealth redistribution, but with only a handful of people believing in it, plus the highly technical requirements it had prior to being widespread, it didn't have that much effect in today's economic landscape. It may have made new millionaires, and have changed the lives of some people who were once stricken with poverty, but that's just a little drop compared to the sea of poverty that a lot of people are still swimming in.
496  Economy / Economics / Re: Are fast-fashion shopping apps hurting local economy? on: December 19, 2023, 11:27:59 PM
It hurts, but also creates some jobs on the side if you think about it. Here in the Philippines, online shopping apps are more preferred nowadays than people going to the malls to buy stuff. This demand increased the number of delivery men needed to deliver the packages. In turn, it created a huge job opportunity to the people, which will then have their salaries spent back to the local economy to provide the needs of the family. For the first part of the equation, it may seem that online shopping apps are hurting the local economy, but the packages have to be delivered somehow, and that's where the riders come in, and get paid for their service.
497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one you are good at? on: December 19, 2023, 11:06:30 PM
Definitely managing my bankroll. I think having full control of your money, while also knowing where each penny goes to, will force you to really manage everything and get the most value out of every cent. It's something that comes to you naturally especially if you see that you have already lost X amount in just a short span of time.

I personally still rely to the analyses of other people before locking my bet, but I know that I can maximize $100 into multiple bets and still have some leftovers for other bets. I can squeeze that as much as I can if I wanted to.
498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has gambling ever whispered you with different strategic prediction measures? on: December 19, 2023, 09:50:51 PM
There are times when I was met with continuous losses, I believe that the next bet I have will be a positive one, especially if I change the bet amount and the multipliers. It's crazy how I used to think that variations on your betting habits will do something to alter the algorithm to favor you somehow. Well, it was worth the shot anyways, though more often than not, I just pull all my hairs out due to frustration since I'm not winning anything.

It all boils down to superstition IMO for these things. We cling too much on the supernatural to help us with our current struggles, even with gambling.
499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does match fixing concern you often? on: December 18, 2023, 11:59:53 PM
When I was still actively betting in Dota 2, match fixing always occurred in Division 2 and lower tiered games. As time went on, these match fixing issues were resolved and was completely gone, or so I thought. I started betting on a lot of Chinese matches during qualifiers as the teams involved are only one of these two: very good or very bad. Most of the time, the odds speak for themselves, and it's a no-brainer to not gain 20 or 30% profit just by placing something on these games. Unfortunately though, near the end of these qualifiers occur some of the match fixes. Imagine a team who barely struggled to get to the semis managed to win against a team that won all of their games with no defeat? Totally insane. It's not really a convincing game either, as the elite team can clearly be seen throwing the game for something.

Since then, I just avoided Chinese dota scene, and moved forward with my sports betting adventures. Once you know which leagues or games often have these problems, you'll just avoid them and look for a more honest league elsewhere.
500  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: December 18, 2023, 11:45:07 PM
-snip
They make event according to the date until we reached 25th December.

No need to surprise @AHOYBRAUSE these events already running every year, last year we had the same things. IMO, every Christmas for first 1-2 weeks is really worth to be chasing wagering. You can get a total of 100-150/weekly from Code Drop, Weekly and Weekly Stream.

Up to 15th, feel free to skip and just chase a minimum 6000-8000$ wagering for stream code can get up to 50$-70$. So, even you're complaining these the event is yearly event ~XD

That doesn't seem to be inviting at all even if you put it like that. Even if it's a yearly thing, do you think that it's worth wagering $20k, even $8k, to get a minimum of $150 a week? Maybe I'm just not really into chasing the bonuses that entails wagering, but if you ask me, just by plainly looking at the figures, it isn't worth it chasing those numbers at all. And again, that's just for me.

Still, Stake has been generous all-year round with several promotions and other prizes for their gamblers. Perhaps it came off as pretty underwhelming when the actual numbers received by these high stakes players are far less than the advertised and highlighted amount.
