421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In The Span Of six months what will make you trust a new casino on: December 26, 2023, 11:21:45 PM
Having no scam accusations and a responsive representative here in bitcointalk would certainly gain my respect to these casinos but certainly not trust. Trust is something that I will never really give to any platform at all. And that means I will not leave any money in the platform when it's not really needed. I'd just deposit something when I want to play and get it when I'm done. I'll entrust these guys to run the casino business smoothly, but not 100% with other people's money. There are some established casinos that just went down without any explanation with people's funds, and if that isn't something that one should be wary about, then I don't know what will.
422  Economy / Economics / Re: Pay discrimination on: December 26, 2023, 11:02:09 PM
There are tons of blue collar job that pays well. The problem is, not a lot of people want to take the job. There are tradesmen that makes as much as a good software developer does, and there are some white collared jobs that pays as much as an entry-level electrician. It all boils down to experience and location where these jobs are offered, and the amount of effort that is exerted for that job to get it done. At the end of the day, there's a lot of factors at play that affects the pay rate of these jobs. Everyone can be a driver, but not everyone can be a tech expert without proper education; and everyone can be a receptionist, but not everyone can be a steel worker. You get the idea.
423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should security be employed in local bet shop? on: December 26, 2023, 10:37:28 PM
That is within their discretion. Most of these local betting shop know everyone, and they alert each other if there are people whom they do not know about that linger within the betting shop grounds. There might be regulars that cause a ruckus every now and then, but since they almost know everybody in that shop, that usually goes away -- at least based on my experience in these small bet shops. Security would be a plus, perhaps for the protection of the owners and not necessarily the bettors there. The standard casino setting that you see in huge casinos are usually not applicable here.
424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It is you who can't stop betting. on: December 26, 2023, 03:08:03 AM
If people really wanted to stop gambling, they'd be the ones who will recognize that they have a problem and do something about it. The first step in breaking free from the curse of addiction is to realize that you have a problem and doing some baby steps to curb it. You need not go to a professional for intervention the first time around, but that will certainly help.

The thing with gambling is that it offers a lot of rewards to the common gambler. While most of the time gamblers face losses, the promises of jackpot and huge wins are what keep gamblers grinding for more up to the point that it no longer is healthy for their own minds. Like any other hobbies out there, gambling offers pleasure to your brain, and if it becomes uncontrollable, it's hard to break free. The only thing that you should do is to realize that you're in too deep and try to limit your budget and hours for gambling. Start small, and eventually go for more 'daring' numbers until you take it off your system. It's not a one-time process, and consistent efforts are needed to remove it completely from your life.
425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lack of proper knowledge on casino games increases chance of loss and reduce fun on: December 25, 2023, 11:52:34 PM
I usually head on to a casino's demo page on the games they offer before I deposit anything. I'd like to get a 'feel' of the games and whether or not they're up my alley. Oftentimes, I already know how the game works, it's just that I need some confirmation before I do anything. Doesn't really hurt to spend a couple of minutes exploring rather than diving head first with things you don't understand. I think this is a solid advice to a lot of newbie gamblers out there. It doesn't hurt to ask or do a quick search before playing. It helps, and certainly helps a ton in saving a lot of time and money.
426  Economy / Economics / Re: Will they ever be able to afford a house? on: December 25, 2023, 11:33:18 PM
Even if they can they shouldn't, it's not an asset it is a liability and will do no good for you and your future but just make you trapped in paying mortgages for 20-30 years. Making money isn't easy but the ways to make money is more than before so one who figure out what way they can make then they can start living the luxury life they want in a short time like even in 5-10 years of complete hard work is enough.

I'm on a same dilemma too. I make more than enough for my self and have good investments accumulated over time. There are some lots and houses to be bought south of where I live, but the problem is the place is full of criminals and traffic is very hard. I can move to the provinces and live a comfortable life, but that also means letting go of my job which is impossible to shift to a full time remote position. I mean, there are opportunities and choices out there for us Gen X and Gen Z people, and you really have to choose the right options and you'll be fine.

I might have to transition full-time to tech and leave STEM behind if I really want to own a house and live comfortably, or make do with renting until I make enough money to retire early and not work a single day anymore.
427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have a question about cancel a transaction on: December 25, 2023, 10:48:01 PM
That's true, so plan your transactions and pay what's being required and/or use viabtc's help as long as your transaction is suiting the requirement of it for being accelerated.

With this tip, I recommend using ViaBTC's paid service. I tried using their free service once and it takes an awful lot of time to have one free chance to accelerate your transaction. There is Binance's transaction accelerator, too, though they use flat fees most of the time and it's a lot more expensive to use than ViaBTC's service. There used to be tons of free transaction accelerator services out there, but apparently most have disappeared or become paid once the problem with high transaction fees began to linger bitcoin recently.
428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one did you use to gamble with more on: December 25, 2023, 09:39:41 PM
On any sport that I stake some bets on, I prefer betting before the game starts and analyzing the teams playing. This way, my brain is somewhat getting trained in doing some analysis that might help me recognize and build some patterns on my own to be a lot more profitable. In NBA though, live match betting is what really is the real deal IMO. There's just a lot of value on betting in in-play games, especially if it's in the second half of the game. But yeah, most of my bets are still before the match starts, and never have I tried betting on virtual matches.
429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between Physical and Online Gambling which makes a person more addicted on: December 25, 2023, 09:30:34 PM
It doesn't matter which avenue does the gambler takes on. If he's exposed to a certain activity that is 'rewarding' to his brain, he'll go back to that activity over and over again, regardless of the medium. I personally dislike brick-and-mortar casinos due to the smell of smoke lingering in the air, plus the fact that it might get crammed sometimes and the unbearable noise within the place. However, if I happen to find a small slot machine that is relatively undisturbed and without anyone nearby, I might spend hours on that little machine just because. I enjoy the game all the same, but certainly not happy with an environment that is loud and smells of tobacco.
430  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ Shuffle.com | The next generation of crypto casinos | Sports, Casino + token on: December 25, 2023, 06:13:08 PM
Are you a streamer looking for a challenge this Christmas? 🎅 💻

We've got you covered with our Max Win Stream Bonus promotion - Hit a max win on stream, send it to us, and earn $5,000!

Details here- https://shuffle.com/promotions/streamer-wager

This sounds like an exciting opportunity for streamers. I am sure a generous reward would attract best online streamers especially not all casinos create this type of events.
The Max Win Stream Bonus promotion seems like a fun way to spread some holiday cheer while showcasing some impressive gaming moments. I'm sure there are talented streamers out there who would love to take on this challenge and earn a chance to win $5,000. Good luck to everyone participating, and happy streaming!  Smiley

Thanks LM for keep updating this thread abut all the new contests announcements.
It was sell calculated advertisement investing from shuffle. As getting that actually happening while streaming to group of people, and ability to share the video it in their social media is worth way more then $5000. Those videos were one of the the main attractions to got me playing slots. Me winning being the major reason for playing more.

It's extra money and cool so i don't think anyone would complain, but it's as likely as opportunity to win the max win especially when change to win this promotion ends tomorrow.

I'm curious whether someone got the hit. There has been no submissions in Shuffle's twitter account for the past couple of days and I really just want to see any max wins on slots. I've been following local slots streamers and it's satisfying to see them win big with small capitals and free bets.

And you're right, seeing other people win often in a platform is really an inviting thought to us who are just looking around at first. I'd probably get hooked up really easily if I see that people can post consistent wins in this platform. With this promotion, you know that people are sharing genuine wins because there is a prize on the line, plus the possible winners are not yet affiliated with Shuffle based on the terms they have implemented for this particular contest.

Speaking about Kuroky then it would be just the right time to have that coaching kind of line or career? but well if he do really love Dota that much then there's nothing wrong with it.

At this point, kuroky is not really helping his team by playing. His decision making on the fly is no longer as sharp as what it used to, though one can argue that his drafting is still good in this current meta. He's just not as sharp as Puppey in leading the team mid game and making sudden shifts in their strategy to not lose. Also, most of the time he's just feeding anyway.

I guess when you grow up playing as a captain for years, leading different people to victory, you'll have that ego to not quit until you prove that you still got it, even though you're not really doing something beneficial anyway.

.
I did have some good read up about 3 months ago on this reddit about retirement of kuroky.
https://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/164052k/when_will_people_admit_its_time_for_kuroky_to/?rdt=58062

Believe me, people know that Kuroky's time as a player is up. A lot are suggesting him to go on a coaching position. He's not a Ceb or a Puppey; his mechanics suck even though his pre-game tactics are good on paper.
432  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Is WinTomato casino SCAM? on: December 24, 2023, 08:05:17 PM
I came across some complaints of users here on the said casino before, and idk if they were resolved or not. Never really followed the casino, though they've had a signature campaign here I believe. Anyway, just ping their support continuously and ask for an explanation. Don't bother if they eventually block you or not, but update here if they do so other people avoid them. No shady casinos deserve to operate here in this space. Hopefully they make it up to you, but I highly doubt it.
433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to ride and stop! on: December 24, 2023, 07:16:40 PM
It's very easy to really avoid losses if gamblers just know when to stop. Most of the people I know tend to overdo gambling because they are tilted if they not get back what they lost in a casino. It's understandable, but if you do not recognize that you're already playing for and at a loss, your money will eventually run out without you having a clue as to why it happened. I completely agree with testing the waters on a win streak, and immediately stopping after a series of losses. Better to go home with something rather than go home with nothing.

Week#14 has been sent- https://mempool.space/tx/1fec3bc82efb43f3f20e89a71180a395255cdd836fee59bc20a0724d1ef8488b
Not yet confirmed, may take some times.

Just made a transaction last Monday and it took me 3 days to have it confirmed, even with a fee recommended by bitcoinfees.net. It's crazy how 120 sat/vB fee won't get your transaction confirmed even within a day, when it used to have any transaction confirmed within the next block for 20 sat/vB or even less. Anyway, thanks for the update, LM. I hope everyone enjoys the holidays or vacations they are in for the next two weeks.
435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have any one had experiences with banned bank/providers because of gambling? on: December 21, 2023, 11:52:56 PM
I have that happen to me before but it was not a bank, but a local exchange. To sum things up, I deposited some money from my gambling account to this exchange. They asked me for a lot of evidence on whether or not I have the capability to deposit such sum, and even though I showed them the winning slip and the transaction ID from that gambling provider, they still proceeded in banning my account that still has some couple hundred dollars sitting on it.

Some banks or exchanges are very sensitive when it comes to receiving transactions that originated from gambling platforms. I don't know what's the deal with it, but more often than not it's just their AML policies kicking in and you have to be compliant in order to clear you of any suspicions they may have on you and continue working with that bank/exchange.
436  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If there is a war between the US and Europe, Bitcoin will hit $1 billion on: December 21, 2023, 11:48:29 PM
And with that, $1B will also be worthless. Have you really realized the repercussions of a war in the grand scheme of things? It's not only the economy that is at stake but also millions of lives. People have always been theorizing about a possible 3rd world war, but in reality, no one will ever want that to happen, nor would there be anyone who's really willing to fight a war that isn't really needed.

Bitcoin could be the least of your concern if US and EU were to declare war with each other. It should be your survival.
437  Economy / Economics / Re: Are fast-fashion shopping apps hurting local economy? on: December 21, 2023, 11:33:19 PM
If you can't beat them, join them.
If you're still want to force yourself to sell local product when there's a better choice or cheaper solution from the competitor, don't hope your business will last long.

You need to accept that, the current generation is fast developing, so you must able to catch up with the new trend instead of using conventional/old school strategy.

Exactly. There are a lot of clothing retail stores here that are big and are the go-to places for fits and clothing, but since the advent of online shopping apps, they have since shifted to live streaming their products and getting orders from viewers and that works pretty well for them. One such place even moved to a smaller location, but are active in Facebook and TikTok live with over a thousand viewers everyday. Their social media accounts already have over 30k likes and if that doesn't scream a good business decision to you then I don't know what will.

Brick and mortar stores will still be there for a long time, sure. But with the comfort and ease of access that online shopping apps offer, it's hard to overlook the fact that everyone is already shifting towards the digitization of everything.
438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: December 21, 2023, 11:17:55 PM
Now, here is something a bit different: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? Either you make enough income to call it "adult play", so you do not have real problems, and/or you simply stop for a long time. Then - months or years later - it gets worse again and you are in trouble.
If a gambler can stay away from gambling for a long time, then they can actually stay away from gambling forever. It will just take some more discipline and constant reminder why you stopped.
Is it that easy?
I was able to see several people directly in the area where I live and there were quite lot of gamblers, most of whom had become gambling addicts.
They make various efforts to stop gambling activities and try to truly recover from addiction, indeed some are successful in recovering from addiction but not in stopping forever.
After recovering, they still return to gambling sites to gamble, but there is significant difference, namely that they can be more controlled, they can have limits and of course they can manage the money and time used for gambling.
This is the reality that I know so far in the life of gambling addict.

It is, but you have to be consistent with it, and that's the hardest part that people often not acknowledge. It's extremely hard to be consistent at not doing something especially if that something used to take up the bulk of your time before. My advice is to take up a hobby that consumes a lot of time as well that will steer you away from gambling. Making yourself busy and not allowing any free time for yourself to gamble is one good strategy to lay off the degeneracy once and for all.
439  Economy / Economics / Re: Setting up financial structures before going into the family way on: December 21, 2023, 10:52:44 PM
Even if you're not married, you need to have a good financial to fulfill your needs, now if your financial isn't settle yet, how it's make sense to marry someone when you can't fulfill yourself first?

I think the government need to tighten the rules to marry someone, it's either at least 25 years old for male or he don't need to be 25 years old but he has $1 Million. Tongue

That takes away a lot of freewill and emotional freedom that is written in the law. Perhaps a lot more education regarding finances and coming to age for the younger generations will work. I'm sure this will be met with a lot of resistance from people who we know complains about everything under the sun. Heck, if gender issues are prevalent and there are dedicated groups of people advocating against 'discrimination' and 'equal rights' nowadays, how much more with issues related to preventing human emotions to develop into deeper connections (marriage)?

I'd say just educate people more about it, and perhaps they'll get swayed to not marry or birth another child until they have sufficient money. If the government can do mass brainwashing before, I'm pretty sure they can do it now for a positive result.
440  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does anyone find the spate of online casinos a bit uninspired? on: December 21, 2023, 10:45:52 PM
As for me, online gambling is very inspiring, entertaining and refreshing as long as we know what we are doing, gambling have to do with understanding, as from the way i understand it, such gives us the avenue to enjoy gambling at every comfortability of our choice, this easy access alone is very impressive on many gamblers because online crypto casinos has made all things easy for gambling at any time or any where.

It's obvious that you have not read even some contents of the discussion thus far. It isn't about the value people are receiving from online casinos; it's that most of these new casinos popping up contain almost the same template with different themes applied to it. There's nothing refreshing nor inspiring with that, and it just shows that this formula works since there are a lot of people like you who continuously support such casinos who never bothered doing their own stuff before promoting it to everyone else.
