This sounds to me like the  Electric company pulling some funny shit and backing out of a agreement they had because they are using to much per KWH but following the rules and paying the bills .Or the Electric company is using there power to do wtf they want to regardless of contacts , BG And E in my state does some of  the same stuff from time to time . contact or not . are very rude at times over the phone etc .. tell  you to hirer a Electrician when you ask for some basic info you know they know . i had  some rude ass  lady hang up on me One time after I  asked her what my house service was, she said they don't keep that info on file go hire a Electrician to find out then hung up.

I all most called back to tell her what to do with her self . but two wrongs don't make a right .

IF the clouding mining owners are on the level.

I feel for them the power company's  in most states, not all, have to much power and push there weight around to much, at times . if there based in the US.

Ive been using this service sense Jan this year I think the most i have invested to start out was maybe 20 to 30 bucks i started low with few a  KH  I'm now at 61 MH without putting no more then 20 to 30 bucks into it . i would recommend this type of cloud mining over any of the others any day of the week with a warning go slow don't invest to  much at first see how it goes etc . most i will ever lose is 20 to 30 bucks and some time, if it ever goes under.

I'll keep buying more hash till I reach maybe 500 MH then start taking  some of the coins and keep investing.  it's maybe to slow for some this way but it's steady and guaranteed, if it keep going and no one gets greedy, in the long run they will make more by keeping it going then taking it and running.
2542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: hashra.com asic scrypt.... scam? on: January 23, 2015, 09:49:46 PM
Since my post was lost in the forum crash I will point out again how odd it is that they have equipment that mines SHA256 and equipment that mines Scrypt and both of them have the exact same delays and both of them conveniently now have hashrate increases despite the fact that they cannot possibly be based on the same chip.

Use S 5 I now have two and two more coming next week i did  the math with 4 S5 i will do ok  one more in two weeks I l have 5 total in three more weeks then Ill  hold off and get 2 to 3 more . but if these ever appear I'll be pissed . you can do more doing it this way if the hard ware is there . key hardware that doesn't cost a arm and leg I'll reword what i mean its there but im not paying 1200$  or more for 88MH or 2 K for a 300 MH miner that might not work up to speed and bitcoins have gone up some.

you have to work at it this way but that's the whole of fun of it imo.

wow nice prices i just have to make a joke about them a lone yea 26 BTC for 400 GH really unless i see it wrong . and  BFL at that . Smiley  Shocked Roll Eyes

Can someone look over these numbers please?

I upped the frequency to 375 and the temp is still low. I checked the cables on the PSU and S5 and nothing is hot. Hell not even warm. I have everything in an unheated garage and the ambient temp is -3ºC right now.

Are the HW errors, rejects, and discards normal?

Can I keep boosting the frequency up until I hit a temp of 40-50ºC?

Thanks
Looks great! I didn't notice higher H/W rate till I took mine to 400 so I had it sitting at the next freq below 400 and it preformed great!

I got some really sweet deals on two of these PSU, two months back, i got two for 90 bucks each as used but thy weren't used when i got them and are still going strong.
2545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: hashra.com asic scrypt.... scam? on: January 18, 2015, 08:58:24 PM
Lol, how you guys cant understand - mining is not profitable in 2015. Only big daddy's will survive. And it is sad...

If you are a miner that just wants to turn the unit on, plug in a multi-pool address, sit back and forget -- then yeah mining is not profitable.

But - if you do some decent research, mine specific coins and sell them somewhat at the right time then there is definitely money to be made.

Is there a lot of money to be made?  I guess it depends on what "a lot" means to you.  I certainly don't see mining as a way to get rich, but I do see it as a way to seek out new business opportunities and it is just a great hobby.

Yup, you hit it  to the point nothing free you have to work for it .
2546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: hashra.com asic scrypt.... scam? on: January 18, 2015, 08:57:05 PM
whats the  low down on this no ship yet i take it, i don't know i got my money  back . bought and buying  some S5 Smiley . just Wondering whats going ? .

tip don't  use coins base unless you like delays if you use 2-Step Verification  with them they won't help  you and tell you to go to the third party vendor for help .  so i went back to using Cryptsy at least Cryptsy if there is a 2-Step Verification issue  they will  remove it from my  account with in mins after I  prove it's me  it takes  hour to get any kind of help form coins base then they told me they couldn't, just a friendly tip . i was able  to sell it all back to my bank with a 4 day wait time so i can't buy any more S5 till it's back in my account . which made  no sense if i can sell it back to my bank  without 2-Step Verification asking for Verification then there is something wrong with them.

well any way I was just wondering did anyone  get one of these miners yet ? .

I have two S5 coming this week  my question is i can use two of these on each S5 I hate noise I'm 58 .  I have two of these fans right now on  one of my S1 I'm  replacing with S5 .I'll either junk the S1's save the heat sinks for some thing later on or sell them super cheap on Ebay.

I have two deltas similar to the ones you have on an S5 that runs very quite. There is a link to a video here it has 15 seconds of SP20s and 15 seconds of the S5. Not a very scientific approach but a quick and dirty comparison: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=902305.1240. I like both unit types as they both serve me well.

I knew a guy that worked for Intel. They would actually have the latest processor chips sitting on shelves, never to used yet because they wanted to milk more out of their current technology. So when you see Intel processors saturate the market that usually means some new chips are coming out on the market. The public has no clue about this, and just like bitcoin manufacturer's, they with-hold information from us on purpose for financial gain. Why do you think all the manufacturers were pushing the hell out of their inventory, having big sales and trying to sell as much as they could right before bitcoin dropped below the $400's. Usually when you have and use inside information for financial gain it is illegal, but since this bitcoin market is unrelated, apparently anything goes.

I know + the gov some times gets stuff that due to be released a year before it's released or 6 month to a year before hand . I remember one time a friend that worked for the GOV showed me some thing that wasn't even on the drawing board so we were being told but it was the GoV had it . that's was a few years back i thought that was a lot of BS till he showed it to me. i think it was a  CD Rom player they wasn't  suppose to be on the market or in DEV,  the GOV had it . if they had it im sure they have stuff we wouldn't believe.
2548  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S-5 review. It has arrived some info is in! on: January 14, 2015, 08:07:39 PM
man i love these S 5 just got my fist one today with  two more on the way . the fans are not that bad  but yea I can see were 6 or more going at once would  drive me up a wall i just sold all but two Zeus miners the noise levels form them are as bad as 4 of these to one of those,it forced me to sell, they use way to much power and i get nothing in return . at least with these i can lower the noise  to were 7 or  so in one room won't be bad and use way less power and get more maybe not a real  good RoI  but some thing worth the effect to me . so all in all  the S 5 are really really nice  for me so far expect the sound over time will get to me so I'll fix it or am as we speak and gonna get 7 to 8 , in time.

Wednesday.

By their own admission Hashra doesn't even have the chips yet:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=441296.msg10104439#msg10104439

They are not shipping anything.

I know i was just hoping . That was it but it's not . o yea some one on E bay is tiring to sell one of these again with a ship date of the end Jan . i was told batch 2 is sold out why they took down any sales for now.

sigh . excitement got the best of me that time.

I love the fact that Bitmain always comes through with product and is always working on a new product just as they are releasing one.
I have always believed in home mining and am addicted to it's nature.
But truth be told hardware in the last year hasn't seemed to make the significant leap to pull ahead of the difficulty.
Yes, we can all buy the latest and sell in 2 to 3 months and buy the new hardware.
This just seems to benefit the manufacturers since they always have the hobbyist willing to buy.
I wish from a hobby only standpoint I could keep miners running, but I usually don't have the overhead
for electric costs vs just buying btc outright.

Short story Long, just wish Bitmain could step ahead of the minimal gains in new hardware only to
be  obsolete next month.  I know this is the way it just is, but can't help think they're r&d has the funds to really
help the home miner and the decentrilization.

what is your power cost?
It's low compared to everywhere else at $.09 kwh but running 7 - 8 S3+'s with btc being low made it tough to keep going.
S1's faired better at the start of last year.  Just trying to keep the btc mined without trading it in to pay expenses.  I don't mind paying
additional $250 or $300 in pud costs but why when you mine less than that in btc.

get some S5 sell off the S3  it will be i was talking to some one from Canada he ( hes a home miner ) told me he has to upgrade to S5 from S3 the power is not worth it any more with S 3 and 8 S5 should give you 901.13 $ A month  before deductions and Next Difficulty [estimated] @ 835.69 $ at stock speeds if did the math right . at 9 cents per KW it wont go that much higher .but i wish the Miner would last a little longer may be 7 to  9 month over 3  go try  alt coins its worse im glad there is a company out there like bit main. most the lite coin miner are way worse and very little of  them beyond KNC i have nothing good to say about them . and A2. I know one or two who mine and pay there power cost each month with the sell of bitcoins they told me it  works out for them that way no real money out of there packets they said they are still able to keep a nice amount of BTC on hand even after paying there power cost each month

I have them in a isolated basement Grin

cool ty i just bought one of these to i gonna test it, i read some place if you use  this one with just one 3 pin plug it can be controlled by a fan controller while the other, same one with 3-4 plug can't be unless you  mod it all most same price gonna see.

there we go

Connector : 4 pin male molex and 3 pin female. There is a 4-pin molex power connector and a 3-pin TAC connector. The 4-pin molex power connects to a power supply and the 3-pin connects to a 3-pin header. You won't be able to use a fan controller to control the speed of this fan. If you want to be able to use this fan with a fan controller, please purchase the same fan with only the 3-pin TAC connector

That is this fan for 4  bucks less im just testing things so i know what way to go for me .

to be honest I'm using what i was using on my S1 and S3 and its looks like they will work just fine with my S5 once i have them .

but i use these

According to the video on face book with the CEO of bit main the ^  should power two S5 with no issues. the ones i linked on amazon I got deals on as used  but were really new and if you know how to you can use the 6 or 7 year warr they come with  no question asked if you have to  . but right now i can't say i would  recommend any thing, waiting for my S5 to come.
2558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: hashra.com asic scrypt.... scam? on: January 11, 2015, 02:01:32 AM
Kind of suspicious that every item on hashra.com went "sold out" at the same time.  Not all of those are even hashra branded, like the zeus miners.  And then some of those are SHA256 miners.  But they all sold out at the same time?

I don't know il get my money back either way i just have to wait till the ship date if it's  not shipped by then i ask and if i  get refused I'll  take it up with pay pal but i have to follow the rules first . But I want the miner so i won't worry to much till the 19th later this week im gonna resell it for alot more then I paid , scrypt mining is not gonna work for me they want to much for all most  non working miners that use to much power and give very little in return, over the next 7 weeks or less I'm gearing back in to SHA 256 mining.  i won't bad month any one or complain lose or win .I'll just move on, i learned a lot from the  whole XP.

BY learned i dont mean the business or ripe off end of it . i learned a lot about coding  and what not just by doing these few weeks of nothing but scrypt mining etc etc .

GL you all I'll keep a eye out hope everyone gets every dome back on this deal or the miners.

Hello there,

I'm from Russia and have ordered 1 x ANTMINER S5 BATCH 4.
Now I need some advice from you ...
I have a new out of the box PSU Fractal Design NEWTON R3 80PLUS® Platinum
http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/power-supplies/newton/newton-r3-600w
and I'll going in anyway to connect it to S5.
Which are the potential minuses I'll get if use the PSU NEWTON R3 with Antminer S5? Please list all if it possible.
Thanks.

This might help you https://www.facebook.com/Bitmaintech.Antminer  : face book   and on bit mains  site under batch 3  it says somerthing aobut what you asking  so that PSU should  be fine if your not worried about speeds .

When better power efficiency is needed in the future due to higher network difficulties, you may want to buy some special PSUs 9V DC with more than 10A output, which will allow you to have a 0.2J/GH mining efficiency, but at lower hashing speed.

but they are right you will need a higher PSU if you plan to over clock i used that as a example nothing more.  just to make a point that it should be ok under clocked by what the tech's  say on bit mains site i think i need to stress that and what others say here before some one take what i said in the wrong light.

I have Six of batch 4 coming  over the next 7 weeks or sooner  two this week and two more the next week then two more maybe three weeks later. selling stuff on E bay .

I like to think why Life force did it was to not take any more order because it is easier and takes less time to just not take any orders then refuse them and send it back.

My thought on it or how i would handle it .

if I'm not mistaken  the life force merchant has and will give back any refunds if you ask him.

I M NOT TAKING UP FOR HIM I DON"T KNOW HIM ETC ETC.
