779 is definitely from "batch 2". Strange that its voltage was set low. Every stick we've run out got tested at 200MHz, so the voltage was set to 640-650mV by either Novak or I before sending out. Maybe someone messed with it? Looks pretty good now.

no not really now it worked for maybe two mins the hard errors shot up to 774 and then it died . it still works , i know more of what i have to do now . i won't give up and won't return it . it fun time now just getting it right .

thanks some what . but no lie i have yet to touch any hard ware setting, i'd rather use Software for me that's easier if I over clock my PC or video cards i use Soft ware . it's cool

Thanks and even if it bad don't worry about it, it's not a hundred or more bucks i d say some thing then . no no one has messed with it in my house .

fixed the dead stick thing it over heated i put a fan on it, now it's running great, but not in BFG. no big deal .

cya.

What's the core voltage on that guy? To run 200MHz reliably it should be 640mV or higher.

it sets to --compac-freq 200 up from 150 and no hard waree error now i adjusted what you said i had them mixed up i marked each stick so i know which is which, BFG still doesn't like it but it is more stable  with CG, i won't  give up. I never touched any hardware settings on the stick i guess that's why so many errors so fast my bad  in my defense thu not a excuse i did read that but don't like adjusting what i don't understand to well , i do now . now to figure out why no bfg . and batch one works prefect. i did know the stick i thought was b1 i would have to adjust .

it might be bad ? that it i had them mixed in minera .i had to start it at 150 down from 200 to stop the hard ware error from going up to fast.I see why you wanted to see that screen from CGminer.

Thanks it looks like it might be a bad stick that only wants to work with CGminer

i did this for my raspberry pi and it is working just fine

i have it running on a Rpi Rpi b+ rpi 2 , banana pi , cubieboard 1 and 2 and sent back a firefly i just bought it wasn't what i thought, i had minera running on with bfg 5.4.1. and 3 other boards i don't use much i for get the names they are in a box some place .all custom built minera images.

I'd actually rather see the cgminer screen, which gives me the name, serial number, and hashrate info.

ok , the new hub came sane thing BFG only see one and CG sees both but with b1 and bfg no hard ware error at all . so i guess I use both cg and bfg just run them separate on two different hubs and the same PI type.

i need a few mins and I'll post that screen , remember like i said before it's really no big deal not like it's a 1000 $ miner then it would be but i won't give up , it's fun.

compac 1 is batch one the top one is batch two that's with my build of minera using a CB2 or cubieboard 2. i know the first batch has lot of error's but that's know big deal i have it set at --compac-freq 175 even under the command line  I see the same thing. why i think it's my hub those hard ware errors just started with batch 1. if you want the bfg  screenie i will post it and that is with cgminer-gekko-rev2, i guess i can recompile version one of gminer-gekko and see if the hard ware error go down on batch one , I'm gonna try my new Hub first then say, Maybe. batch one had no hard error till i got batch 2 but i don't care about b1 i can fix that. I'm all most sure my Hub  is the Problem.

hey

Mich  marry xmass and May this new year be a grand one for you..

I know minera needs no updates ,  im asking more to make sure you still care ..  if there is ever a need for one will it happen ? . atm for me it's awesome how it is .

 cya.

Hi my friend! Thanks! Well, I had that project about MobileMiner clone, but I'm really busy with my job so I put it on hold. I released the 0.6.2 but it has only packages updates no new code, but yes I still take care of my baby Minera Wink

Let see what this 2016 will bring to us.

To all of you have a great new year and may the force be with you! Smiley

BTw the new Starwars movies is awesome, more like the very first one, but they had to please everyone, the first time around or it could have been one big flop and very costly , JJ abrams makes awesome movies and knows just what everyone wants .

new star trek move is due to hit this summer , i watched the trailer to it the other day looks good, same main cast as the first two JJ put out  etc .

You shouldn't have said may the force be with you, JK ..

great that we won't have to worry about Minera not working because the DEV dropped it or lost interest.

to you and everyone May your next year be better then this year .

cya .

would it still work with CGminer if that is the case ? and why not with BFG ?. i can post logs once again with screen shots if needed, of everything, i have tried , I even tried for about three days after i got the stick before i said anything. if it works with CG with out issue is the stick bad ? if so can i get it replaced . not sure i want to thu shipping , sorry not being rude, I think I'm being really cool, I want it to work with BFG and gonna keep trying , just getting a little annoyed, right now .I keep getting the feeling, I'm wrong, every time i hear Batch 1 works and Batch 2  for me, not sure why it doesn't for you , it's like they don't believe me or I'm making it up .

That image i tried,I'd  rather make my own . he set it up different, then i do and the new version or you all fork works better to me, then the first one or seems to.

it's not worth the trouble to return either, to me , i feel better knowing i help out by not returning it so you can keep going but at this point it just how annoying it's getting . and not that it doesn't work either .

you can try it this way

Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

git clone https://github.com/luke-jr/bfgminer
cd bfgminer

sudo apt-get -y install git-core build-essential autoconf automake libtool pkg-config libcurl4-gnutls-dev libjansson-dev uthash-dev libncursesw5-dev libudev-dev libusb-1.0-0-dev libevent-dev libmicrohttpd-dev

sudo ./autogen.sh
sudo chmod +x ./configure
sudo ./configure CFLAGS="-O2" --enable-broad-udevrules  # < this is not enabled by default the others drivers you need are, it might help.

sudo make

sudo make install  #> may not need

Ubuntu trusty 14.03 for my cb2 with minera, i custom build. . on my rpi i have used it to, off RPI site. my problem is i can't get batch two to work with BFG but B1 does, will let you know once the Hub, gets here to day, if it's my hub .

If you want how i custom build minera for Ubuntu,it's not the way Mich says to. i can PM it ,won't here .

anybody with some info on how to get a sidehack gekko miner to work with bfgminer?

I have batch one working with BFG have asked luke a question or 2 i guess, I'm being ignored for the most part which is ok life does get in the way , I hope that's why . I'll let you know tomorrow if i get batch two working with BFG , i have a nice usb 3 hub coming others claim does work with Rpi 2 and bfg  and batch 2 . I say claim because yea I don't believe it but why I don't is not what they may think.

Little annoyed right now sorry .

With My set up atm i have two running with cgminer only one with bfg and those running with CGminer make me think it is my hub they do some strange stuff  like it's a lack of power even if the meters show different.
1815  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: December 31, 2015, 04:44:56 AM
Long, rambling, sorry.  TL;DR - logistics assistance requested to initiate 4xCompac mining on a cheaply powered CPU without incurring too much more in the way of additional expenditures.  See below for what has already been purchased and where the bottleneck is (hint - UK cheap computer for $5)

I hope this hits the right thread. (fingers crossed)

NOOB here to mining, Gekko Compacs, and PI..  Yes there will be no ROI, not looking to make a profit, but looking to sink as little as possible into it even tho its fun.

So I found the thread, and while I can't afford an S7, I found the Compac here in the states for my son for Christmas.  And getting it running was a hoot, drove her up to 17.85GH/s and have made a whopping 12 cents in my 48+ hours of mining lol.  So, I got bit by the bug, and dropped for three more, two USB fans to cool them with, and an Anker 60w 7port USB 3.0 powered hub with an extra three charging ports.  YAY!  But of course I have to have the computer on 24x7 to keep her mining, which decreases what meager profit there might be, etc etc etc

Then I found the PI 0.  $5 NBD right?  Got the HDMI and USB adapters for another 8, bought a nice wood case with heatsink for another 8, bought a 128gb SD for 65 for the blockchain, money's flying out the window at this point.  I think I'm approaching the cost of the XB1 my son got for Christmas because *I* have been bitten by the bug.  Anker works fine on the laptop, not so much with the Pi 0.

Yes, have searched, googled, bing'd (I feel dirty, but at least it wasn't yahoo) and searched this thread.  And all over the 'net RPIs are notoriously poor when it comes to 3.0 support, but 3.0 power 900ma is what I Need to overclock!  Oh I can spend $75 from China on a monster 2.5a/port x 20 ports that will take a month and and then some to arrive, just to run 4 Compacs?  I can't find an inline 10 port USB 2.0 that will go > 500ma in specs (whether it will allow you to do 1000ma every other port or not in reality I haven't found), and since I have the RPI 0, daisy chaining 3 -> 2 -> PI doesn't work, whether or not the 2 is powered.  I can GET the Compac recognized in the 2 while powered, haven't tried running (was going 310mhz @ approx 740mv I think - but she was stable, hot but stable) - but even if she does work the layout wont allow for 4 sticks + 2 fans + a power line for the RPI 0.  I can get the nic/mouse/kbd daisy-chained to an unpowered 2.0 hub off the powered 2.0 hub, but i just can't see how I'm going to get it all to work together.

So, I can return the Anker (btw I love Anker products, its the RPI 0 that I have issue with), but the only inline properly oriented USB 2.0 10 port hubs on Amazon all specifically say NOT FOR ASIC MINING and warn max output is 500ma (which I don't even think is enough to power the RPI 0 which I believe takes 700ma).

Even with 10 ports and Y bridges on 2.0 you're looking at having to daisy chain two of them together which is... drumroll.... about $70 (at least its in the USA and can be shipped from Amazon - but I haven't sourced the bridges/y-adapters yet)

I could B+ maybe, some in this thread have gotten it to work, but nothing on the poor 0.  I haven't opened the 128gb SD yet so I can still take that back, the fans are amazon so I could return them, for a fee that makes them might as well keepers, and the sticks are already en route from Canada, so no refunds there.

I'm at a loss...  Ideas?  Anyone?  Bueller?

This is better if you want a rpi get this http://x2t.com/422355 rpi2 some say this  http://x2t.com/422353 hub will run off a rpi2, I'll find out tomorrow i have one coming . usb 2 hub work best on rpi any model over udb 3 you want a self powered hub. Mybad linked the wrong pi kit fixed it .
1816  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: December 31, 2015, 02:49:30 AM
This is what BFG is doing with one stick, the new one and picks up the old one with NP. I have a USB 3 hub due to me tomorrow to see if that's why it is no good in BFG and both work in CGminer with my hub now .

I'm not even sure what that the version request is it keeps asking for one stick  it's not finding and sense it does work with CG miner it might just be my HUb. I'll know around 2 pM est tomorrow afternoon.

he used FedEx bad idea they do tend to charge after the fact then lie to you, i had it happen a few times i avoid FedEx as much as i can. they may be the cheapest shipper Bitmain offers but are they really . when all  is said and done.when I order from Bitmain now i just pay the extra in shipping less pain and no hidden bills in the mail . it may have been the shipper and Bitmain both but I wouldn't call it stealing yet , find out what happen first .

They get 17% from chinese government out of everything they export, or what they say they do.
If this is true, everyone who was charged a higher rate by customs should contact their carrier and dispute the customs charges. Provide the invoice given to you by Bitmain at the time of purchase that shows the dollar value you paid.

DHL is capable of doing this, but I'm not sure of the others.

They can at least i know UPS can, i don't trust FEDEX they did steal from me. Got a feeling it's more the shipper , Bitmain does come thu and doesn't steal they make big mistakes at times but make good .

I did that one time with FedEx and was told I would not be charged they did any way and on top of that told me custom charged them what the bill said  but it wasn't, it even said what the other addon charge was on the bill after i pointed that out, i was told no charge then they charged me any way to my CC, i had on file with them, i don't file my cc info with them any more, only use them if i have to .

@ marvykkio

Just be care full what shipper you use and pay that little extra no pain and supersizes, later on.  That Might cost more.

hes so right you need to look here : https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=software#gpu you still can make some thing doing x whatever stuff but not with one  card you may need more like 80 to 90 mh to see some thing .

you'll be lucky just to get a video card running on BFG they do but not worth it and may take forever to get it right .
