1761  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3+ Discussion and Support Thread on: January 30, 2016, 08:47:51 PM
My thoughts on home mining it will never be complety dead unless bitmain and Avalon stop selling to the public as for bw , bitfury etc  it remains to be seen, I don't trust one word they say they are to greedie now for there own good and want it all.

and all most any miner should be usable till July,it all depends what you expect etc after July well see no one knows for sure how it will impact us (but one and we won't go there). til it happens .

so yea the S3 or a few S3 running are still use able, it all depends what you expect or want form it not all of us are in it for RoI but more for the fun and the extra $$ you can make, at least till July.

Hey I still use a S1 and saving for future miners now .

I cant find any of mye GPU's on BFGminer, I have a GFX 870M, and updated it but I still acnt find it. What is wrong?

You could try adding it manually or go the auto option to see if it shows up.

or use for GPU it safer and much easier to use and sets up faster .

this is the results..

- /etc/config/network 1/39 2%

Not sure what I need to look for? Help please.

use the down arrow key and scroll down till it stops your not at the bottom of the list

look for  option ipaddr '192.168.1.99'
and change

99 to what ever you want it to be set to on your network . 100, 202 etc but make sure no other device on your network is using that IP or neither the S3 or the device will work after a reboot, network wise.

you should all ready be set to static .

sadly i can't remember the VI commands to save setting sense i like to use nano or this more http://winscp.net/eng/index.php?#utm_source=winscp&utm_medium=app&utm_campaign=5.7.6.

nano is not installed by default on most S3 and can be a bitch to install on one , VI is .
1764  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3+ Discussion and Support Thread on: January 30, 2016, 07:55:33 PM
Is it possible to change the default IP.1.99 to something different via putty? I can access the s3 with putty but the when I try using the ip in the browser it says bad gateway.

which  S3 is it a upgraded one or one in a box .

log n with putty
@
192.168.1.99
then use

vi /etc/config/network

the very last line is were you change it

try this first it might not be set to 192.168.1.99

http://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/

if you get a bad gateway .

if you can't find the IP at all then do a hard ware reset if that doesn't work you may need a controller or have to reprogram it .

This member sell controllers that work better then bitmains, he makes him self and they do work better, i can confirm that they do, I have bought one and am buying another in two weeks .

two places one hereon the forums

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0

the other if you live in the US i get all my miner supply's here

http://holybitcoin.com/

I'm sure  others have good suggestions, id say try ebay but it takes long to get there or costs to much for fast shipping even with deals.

is this the one your selling  ebay if so im about to buy one soon ?.
1767  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Antminer S1 Parts on: January 25, 2016, 01:55:41 PM
You can buy an S3 board and run it with your S1 controller.

I have a S5 running with S1 heat sinks it seems to run cooler i know the S1 to S3 heat sinks seem or are better then the cheaply made S5 sinks seem to be or feel.

it's over clock @ 381 doing a steady 1.2 th with no more then 0.03 HWE with temps staying at 50 to 54 C when it gets warm here the temps will prolly go up to 57 to 59c or so ..
1768  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: (WTS/WTT) (9x) GAWMiner Fury/ZeusMiner Blizzard on: January 25, 2016, 01:43:11 PM
You have any thunder X6s,  i messed up one of my TX6 trying to mode it only really need the hash boards  . but want one for around 100 to maybe 110 $ that's a bout all it's worth to me to buy one, sense in about two months time maybe one if the big guys do what they say we may see A2s drop down to 200 $ for the 110 MH or lower for A3 and A4 etc once there 500 MH + miners come out,  the Zeus miner will go even lower and maybe become worthless other then for parts if one of the makers does what they say we can use there parts for upgrades.

I have 2 questions about bfgminer.
1. is it possible to make a file and preload for example 10 pools instead of one and then adding the rest of pools using P then A
If it's possible how can I do that?

2. Is it possible for bfgminer to have some pools and we put somehow if the diff of that coin goes below 2 mine it, if it goes higher mine on another pool ?

Or do you know of any program that uses a script for number 2? Preferably for raspberry pi but windows is OK too

Thanks

one place but it costs sadly , but does work great, you pay for a well done service with emails all most daily, if you have it turned on .

https://v2.smarterhash.com/   is for script miners , only

For the PI try

Minera :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=596620.0

in a update yet to be done Mich said he plans to add pool switching till then there is no ETA, he is real busy with other things but keeps minera, running well .

For pools you might want to try this

Stratehm/stratum-proxy

https://github.com/Stratehm/stratum-proxy

for loading in more then one pool the easy way:) .

This explains how to use the pool switching Strategy it uses here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=611338.msg12489739#msg12489739.

It all works with BFG on any PI type PC.

I have problems when running bfgminer 4.2.2 (for zeus miner) on two operating systems.
I am using three gawminers fury's (same as zeus blizzard) total 4.2mh/s

When using bfgminer on windows 7 with one pool it's hashing around 3.5mh/s
if I add three pools and select rotate every 20 minutes it just sends a little hashrate to 2 or 3 pools like 0.3 and 0.6mh/s
it does not send the full hashrate only to the pool in turn.
Later on I changed strategy to balance on 3 pools and it just giving rejected shares.

I see similar problems on raspberry pi too with low hashrate, not good rotate etc.

What am I doing wrong?

use 5.4.1 Smiley. maybe give us your setting .

This video is so apprioate for 10/10 scams. Most people just buy and invest without thinking ahead. If a investment is too good to be true.. avoid it like the plague.

This site is still around LMAO i invested 10 bucks back in Aug by mistake then lost my Pin which i can't recover due to the PO won't fix it .
That was one of the funnest vid i had have seen in a while, i wouldn't put it past this dick to being doing everything in that vid. and mean it , i know he is but joke about it to. Lmao .

My HM is up to 191 MH with some low ass a mount for a reward , that 191 MH should be paying more then what the ass hole running this pool is posting, i only really lost ten bucks .

You can still do nicely if you have enough power like maybe 7 or 8 AMD cards they work best 280X or better and mine the right coins.  and yea the older 7000 series still work ok  .
1774  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: site web scam? on: January 13, 2016, 07:14:18 PM
oo it is any site with  YES minders and  ZeusMiner VOLCANO 300Mh miners, be very case full. if it's a ebay type site or in this case don't buy anything from that site..

Zeus, never made that miner for the public, if it was even made. Zeus came on there site one day said they stopped making miners and they are not going to make that one.
1775  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S5 board temperature difference between boards on: January 13, 2016, 04:26:52 PM
also try re pasting the boards and clean out the heat sink give it a good cleaning if you haven't, i had that happen once i took it a part and cleaned it up real good and reapplied the themo paste ,  that S5 had a 2 or 3 degree difference after i cleaned it up etc. .

and here is a S5 i kept and fixed this is not the same one i talked about above.. This one had a 4 to 5 degree difference after i fixed it .  so i took it part once more did a really good cleaning re pasted etc..

now it runs better then it did when i bought it with one blade and replaced a blade etc .I'M also using S1 heat sinks they seem to work better then S5 heat sinks. and it also seems to run better over clocked then at defaults.
1776  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My next cooling system on: January 13, 2016, 05:42:52 AM
Make video as well that looks nice . I would even consider  something like that , just to say i did it and see if it works.
1777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Minera v0.6.2] Your next mining dashboard - Networked/CPUminer/CGminer/BFGminer on: January 12, 2016, 09:07:53 AM
If someone could help/advise me that would be great. I have over 200 Zeus Thunder x6's that i have been running on the zeus image for the past couple of weeks. I cant help but notice how shitty the interface is and how almost everytime it doesn't save pool changes and such.

My question to you would be how do i go about setting it up correctly in minera? ive read that the cgminer zeus fork doesn't always work to well with these units and that bfgminer would be a better option.

The chip count on these miners is 128 and the clock setting i prefer to use is 225.

Any assistance and help with setting it up would be great

Thanks!

go here http://getminera.com/help to start with for minera once you have a Gen idea,  please read the help first you may not need any help after you do. it is best to use a self powered hub with minera because the pi/s can't power all 200 with out a external powered hub/s.
You might need more then one PI because each PI will only do so many per PI, i forget how many .

Basic lines needed on manual setting are
Code:
 --scrypt -S zus:all --set zus:chips=128 --set zus:clock=200 --retries=1

If you use the guided set up in minera this line should be all you need
Code:
--set zus:chips=128 --set zus:clock=200 --retries=1

In the guided set up  tun on scrypt ,scan all and the java setting if it's not on and logs , so you can see what might be wrong

you can  play with the clock setting to see what works best . ID say from 200 to 248 any thing over might give tons of Hard errors or the miners may not work .

Those lines under manual or guided with bfg loaded  should see all 200 and list them all if they are all X6.
Yes BFG is your best bet, it is really the only Script software miner kept updated.

You can set minera to see 50 per page.

This info is for setting up per different type of Zeus miner with BFG.

This is from the BFG read me

You should also configure the driver for your specific device:

--set zeusminer:clock=N        Clock frequency (default: 328)
--set zeusminer:chips=N        Number of chips per device
        Blizzard    :  6          Cyclone     :  96
        Hurricane X2: 48 (2*24)   Hurricane X3:  64 (2*32)
        Thunder   X2: 96 (4*24)   Thunder   X3: 128 (4*32)
Note: if you set this option incorrectly, the device may underperform and/or
      misreport hashrate.

For example:

Code:
bfgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pool:port -u user -p pass -S zeusminer:\\.\COM3 --set zeusminer:clock=328 --set zeusminer:chips=128

This is  only so you have some thing to follow

This may help some for BFG  some of the setting in that post are not needed anymore, it's just to help more then anything .

https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=20477.0

I still run one of two Zeus miner from time to time they still can make some thing but with the new Script miners that are suppose to come out in two months they will become use less, other then to learn on .

one of the two company's coming out with faster and more efficient miners, said some thing about having a upgrade path for the old Zeus miner parts.

Chips-Count
   Blizzard: 6
   Cyclone: 96
   Hurricane X2: 48 (2*24)
   Hurricane X3: 64 (2*32)
   Thunder X2: 96 (4*24)
   Thunder X3: 128 (4*32)
   ThunderX6 : 128 (4*32)
   lightningX6: 256  (6*32)
   hurricaneX6 :64 (2*32)

These 2 are the same miner as far as speed and layout go.
Cyclone: 96
Thunder X2: 96

all speeds can start @ 200 and up , some may need to start @ 328 speed

if I renumber right all x6 start at 200 to 250 .
1778  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Using Washer/Dryer power outlet for mining rigs? on: January 11, 2016, 05:06:22 AM
Don't they have a splitter for that plug? Because he would have to plug and unplug the miners everytime he wanted to use the dryer

either rewire the plug or replace the wall plug to match the PDU plug , is what i would do for peace of mind or run a new line to be even  safer then he doesn't have to worry about it being plugged in  or  forgets to unplug the PDU when he  uses the dryer or turn  off the miners , don't run a dryer on the same line as the miners at the same time , i couldn't get a friend or Electrician to give me good advice on sharing a dryer plug other then it's safer and cheaper, over time to run a new line for the miners . but if hes not using it, then why not replace the wall plug to match the PdU plug.

Some people aren't comfortable changing out plugs themselves plus depending on whether you rent or own, you might not be able to change this or the next owners might have a dryer that needs the plug. An adapter is an easy solution, plus the adapter is used all the time for electric cars so it works well.

I said do it your self were ? Smiley. he doesn't really say were he lives rent or own wise, he does say house and most rented houses allow you to do this kind of stuff, ask the landlord first he might just allow it, apartments don't or any apartment, i ever lived in didn't and all the rented houses ,I lived in, did, just ask first.

I'll bet some place down the road he will end up doing it right. and I did ask a electrician he told me it is safer with out a adapter, I wouldn't do it my self, I would pay a electrician because, I don't feel comfortable changing out plugs my self, shop for electricians and I won't own a electric car and it may be a adapter but you can bet it plugs direct, some how .

All i did, was give good sound advice, take as you see it .Smiley.

1780  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Should i upgrade firmware? on: January 09, 2016, 03:14:02 AM
AS a rules never upgrade the firm ware unless there is some thing new in the upgrade or you are having issue that the new firm ware might fix and the Warning is do it at your risk .

but if your like me i do it if it needs it or not @ my own risk , i have this thing about all my PC's etc and keeping them  updated with all software they use including the firmware, on any thing i own .
