101  Other / Beginners & Help / How is a privacy wallet any different from a regular one? on: April 17, 2021, 12:23:53 AM
Like for example say exodus vs wasabi?

Exodus for example, I dont think they collect your info. Let's say a government wanted to give a warrant for them to look into some random dudes wallet. Would they hand the info over or something or what?

What's the best privacy wallet that has the most amounts of token coins n stuff?
102  Economy / Exchanges / Crypto ATM questions on: April 16, 2021, 07:43:16 PM
So, why do some crypto ATMs require KYC but others just require a phone number?

Does this mean KYC is basically optional?

What types of info can they get from a phone number? I see this is the most convenient way to buy crypto..... sort of anonymously but not really if they have a phone number attached to your name.

103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the most commonly USED crypto currency in the future? on: April 15, 2021, 02:55:55 PM

Most used in terms of what? As a usual currency? As an investment?

I can say, at least 80% of all coins are being used, not in their respective use-cases but for investment type.

That trend will always be the situation so I would say BTC will be the only one that can hardly use both as a currency and investment within a long period.

Oh sorry should have clarified but used as a currency. Not just invested in and it sits or is traded. But used for day to day transactions
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the most commonly USED crypto currency in the future? on: April 14, 2021, 07:24:35 PM
I think the best chance has Cardano. With Africa deal they will already become one of most used crypto currency. With that project going on in next couple of years they have a good chance to be most used crypto.

Hmm... Yes, IF they can get the Africa deal, they might very well be. But that seems many many years away but if it happens. I think Cardano might be it. Then Doge, and the others. I really see Doge being up there.

What will be the most commonly USED crypto currency in the future?

Any reason why you did not mentioned Monero, GRIN or Doge?  All of them have secured network by emission and can keep transaction fees low. That is not the case with coins you mentioned.

I added Dogecoin as the first. Monero, unfortunately because it's much harder for people in the USA to obtain it. Other nations may follow suit.

I haven't heard of Grin
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What will be the most commonly USED crypto currency in the future? on: April 14, 2021, 06:17:05 PM
I think Bitcoin will be held like gold. Maybe even Ether as well.

But I'm personally thinking maybe dogecoin, maybe.... XLM and XRP, as well as Bitcoin cash, Dash, maybe lite coin. Of course USDT type.

I think many people, when the masses start using it more frequently. Will stick to older common coins that can be found at any crypto ATM and have the lowest fees and fastest transaction time.

Anyone disagree or have anything to add?

107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is Vechain overextended or just getting started? on: April 14, 2021, 05:58:03 PM
I'm thinking of making this my number one alt-coin, even to surpass eth. But, the charts showing it shoot up, looks like we'll have a big correction but I thought that a week ish ago and we had really really minor dips. I'm wondering if its gonna be another bitcoin/eth where it shoots up. I'm waiting for a dip that doesn't seem to come. Idk. I think we have a good bit of simmer till maybe fall for alt coins to shine so I'm guessing now is still a good time to get more in? I just feel like a dip is coming. But feelings are often wrong. So what do you guys think?

Also, any hope of it going to 14 dollars a coin within the next 5 to 10 years? I saw some youtube vids talking about how it might do that.
108  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What is the cheapest way to buy bitcoin? on: April 14, 2021, 02:16:46 AM
I'm gonna try coinbase. or coinbase pro?

My first bitcoin I got from an ATM for anoninimity. Now, I'm gonna just use a bitcoin mixer now that I know about it.
109  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What is the cheapest way to buy bitcoin? on: April 14, 2021, 02:12:46 AM
Aside from Binance USA that others mostly suggest, you can check if there's a local Bitcoin ATM around your area. Instructions including all associated fees should be stated there as you operate it.
No, I won't, I won't suggest buying Bitcoin on an ATM machine, they had terrible fees.

Man. The first bitcoin because I was desperate to get in months back. I bought bitcoin when it was only 40 something thousand dollars. You know how much the bitcoin ATM charged me? I bought it at its price of 58 or 59K

I just recently broke even on it. I really thought I was FOMO-ing in and it was gonna dump. I was kinda prepared for that but was just desperate to get just some for the sake of saying I had some because at the time I didn't want to do KYC verification and couldn't figure out how to do it online from home. But never again. I bet they're probably charging 80k for bitcoin now. Probably a reason I never ever saw literally anyone ever buy from that thing except for me of course. Oof.

Luckily later I found one that only charged a bit less and got some more on that one. But yeah. I'm thinking I need to get into peer to peer. As risky as that sounds. Anyone want to buy some say... walmart gift cards for bitcoin? lmao
110  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How come some KYC exchanges ask for more info than others? on: April 13, 2021, 05:27:11 PM
Why do some go above and beyond what is even actually required?

Also, which ones ask for the least amount of KYC?

Can you name what exchanges are those? As far as I know, the only and normal way of requirements that we should submit on KYC is an ID that they want and a live selfie where you follow what the app asks like looking up or down. If it goes beyond that I would hesitate to complete the KYC on that exchange. There is this exchange where its KYC verification is very hassle. Except for the ID and selfie, they also want a picture of you holding the ID you submitted and a piece of paper that shows the name of their exchange and the current date. I did not complete it even if I have some bitcoin stuck there which amounts to $1000 now. Based on the experience of some users that attempted to complete it, submitting those doesn't guarantee you to be verified. They would ask for more documents which seem very suspicious.

I made an account on webull and they didn't even ask for a selfie. Where as coinbase wanted a full video of me holding an ID. Screw that. They're going above and beyond the legal requirement. Any company that does that doesn't have your best interest at heart.
111  Economy / Exchanges / What is the cheapest way to buy bitcoin? on: April 13, 2021, 05:23:18 PM
If you live in the USA and cant buy it on binance.

(Binance totally locked up my account for some reason and wont get back with me, which is whatever because I didn't have any crypto on it anyways... and I guess they think I'm trying to do something against their rules as they wont let me create another account)

Get it off the exchange and anonymize it ASAP
115  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low could the next bear market move bitcoin? on: April 06, 2021, 03:55:40 PM
And to everyone talking about the institutional money is in, so this time its different. Seems like that last part sounds familiar.

I do think there is a good chance bitcoin follows something totally wildly different this time. This time not only are there institutions, but more widespread knowledge among retail folk. AND mass money printing on top of world wide adoption of it. I hear people in India and China are getting into bitcoin which isn't something I was aware much of last time. Maybe they were there too but it seems like there is more interest from asia than last time.

116  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low could the next bear market move bitcoin? on: April 06, 2021, 03:51:50 PM
I'm really hoping the market doesn't rally at the top right now, I really really want this to be slower and reach the top in earliest 5 or 6 months. I am kind of enjoying this as I didn't really enjoy 2017 and would just want a few more months of this. Right guys? October is the earliest I'd want the top to come. But I hope 2022 is when it happens. Too hopeful?

I'd love for this to be the case as well, I'm still trying to accumulate more bitcoin. But lots of charts and graphs are saying we're near, if not already mid way through the top this time. But I pray you're correct. I'd actually love it to be a gradual ride up and maybe sit there without too much downside but..... I think that's just hopium.
117  Economy / Speculation / How low could the next bear market move bitcoin? on: April 05, 2021, 11:05:52 PM
I think we're reaching the peak soon. So I was wondering, how much do you think we could get down to?

Any chance of bitcoin going below 10,000 USD? I really doubt it. I'm thinking maybe it might go below 20k but that's a maybe and only if bitcoin only goes up to maybe 80 at the peak of this bull market here soon. I know a lot of people think bitcoin will go to 300,000 or even a million but I really doubt that. I can see 80,000 and 100k for maybe a week or so but hopefully I'm wrong. I'm gonna buy more bitcoin here soon and grit my teeth if we start going down sooner than later. I'm saving a bit of cash, only half of what I'd normally spend, to buy during the bear market when it's doom and gloom and people thinking bitcoin is over or "when it comes out... ZERO" Idk if anyone gets that reference lol but yeah.

What do you guys think?
118  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the absolute lowest fee per byte you can send on: April 04, 2021, 08:44:46 PM
Before it gets stuck in limbo indefinitely?

Can I just set it at 10 Sat/B and still have a payment go through? Even if it takes days or so?

Is there a sat/B fee per byte calculator where I can put in numbers and check? I know it varies by day as well.

I made a calculator myself, you can check it out here:
https://bitcoindata.science/plot-your-transaction-in-mempool.html

You need to know how many inputs/outputs you have, and what is the format of your addresses.
After adding all details you can choose a fee per byte (fee rate) and you will see how much you will spend in a transaction.

Quote
I want to go as low as possible but I hear if you go too low, it gets stuck in limbo for all eternity. Or something like that.

The lowest fee per byte you can use is 1 sat/byte, but it will take long to get confirmed.
You might need to broadcast it again if mempool gets full. It is easy to do it, we can help you here if you need.

If you are not in a hurry (like sending to another wallet you have), you can use 1 sat/byte

Thanks! I can set it that low? Thanks, dang I should have done that lol.

Also what is the input vs output thing on there? Sorry noobness here.
119  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the absolute lowest fee per byte you can send on: April 04, 2021, 08:42:18 PM
^ Wow. How long did it take for that to go through?

I know of this one but Idk what Im looking at or how it works. https://www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/fee-calculator/
I just need a calculator where I can put in how many sat/B for the fee to the amount I'm sending.

So like a payment of 20 dollars worth of bitcoin, then 100 dollars worth of bitcoin.

I want to go as low as possible but I hear if you go too low, it gets stuck in limbo for all eternity. Or something like that.
