361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: June 28, 2014, 10:21:08 PM
i can not loose 10k, if they cant deliver my asic then refund the total in current btc value.i sacrificed starting a company for this and my money is frozen in this asic for half a year...

I'm pretty sure you already DID lose 10k.
I have to ask, because I am sincerely curious what goes on in someone's mind when they do something like this.  What were you thinking?  Even if this company had turned out to be legit.  Even if they had turned out to deliver somewhere sort of near on time and on spec.  Even if everything had worked out perfectly, this was still a HUGE gamble with a substantial chance of losing money.  Why would you gamble money you couldn't afford to lose?

I'm looking for suggestions in regards to the premine and its use for supporting Quatloos.

Well you could get it listed on an exchange.

364  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bought 4 S1's at the end of march... on: June 28, 2014, 05:50:50 AM
Was told I would not break even.. I have broken even and still mining, all four operational.

Soooooooooooooooooo... ya... about that mining is pointless..

Well, congrat. Did you take into consideration electricity bills?

No as I have also not added the fact I could sell each for $350-400.

I wasn't there, so I don't know, but I am betting whoever told you that you wouldn't ROI probably didn't think you would pretend your electricity costs don't exist or pretend you could sell the device for twice what it is worth (even ebay has them for $200.00 now).  TBH, the fact that you have to fudge the numbers to break even probably proves their point....Just sayin.

.1 * 24 * 90 = $216, Cost for hydro over 3 months

4 * 200 = $800.

Something about something with fudging numbers about something?

Now onto fudging numbers  you're not to bad. Goes one Ebay, finds the lowest price with a week before the end of bid acts like that's what it will sell for.  Now Kijij when I see an item up, call them and they tell me it's sold I can assume it's selling at that price for around a week or two.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BITMAIN-S1-180GH-IN-HAND-AntMiner-USA-Seller-/271528849125?pt=US_Virtual_Currency&hash=item3f38616ee5

That took 4 seconds.  189, of which the seller will get about 160.
And of course, 90 days and 24Kw/h per day I assume you  had them underclocked quite a bit.  So maybe 150Gh/s each.  Going back 90 days to March 29th by my calculations yields earnings of 3.3BTC but the devices cost 4BTC for 4.

Anyways, Im not trying to argue with you, I have no horse in this race.  I just think it is disingenuous to ignore electricity costs in your calculations (unless of course you have free electricity).

So congrats on ROIing Smiley

See?  This is what I was talking about.  I know the ordinary average person pays little mind to TOS's and contracts and such, but companies meticulously plan every detail that goes into them.  This is what I was trying to say earlier, if a company put something in the contract, you can be certain they will take advantage of it if at all possible.
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: June 27, 2014, 06:02:55 PM
Well I know I mentioned it before but the "guarantee" was obviously a lie.  They told their customers that they were trying to get a payment processor but that it was completely beyond their control, and then in the same breath said they guaranteed one by July.  Obviously one of those mutually exclusive declarations had to be a lie.
I am going to stand by my original speculation that they never had any intention of getting a payment processor.  Taking credit cards means they have to do refunds as they would be forced by the CC company.  Not allowing credit cards allows them to play this "you're a business" game and make it as difficult as possible to get a refund, after luring in unsuspecting customers who thought they were protected with the refund guarantee.
368  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Bid: Selling 3 Antminer S2 - 1Th's on: June 27, 2014, 05:46:53 PM
Example:

If you sent 5.5 BTC and another user sent 6.0 BTC, you will lose the bid and your 5.5 BTC will be refunded.
The user that sent 6 BTC will still win the bid, if another user sent 7 BTC, the user of 6 BTC bid will lose the bid and their 6 BTC will be refunded.

Wait, you expect people to "bid" by blindly sending you BTC, and trust that you will refund the losing bids?

I don't noob there, already trade with some members. (see my last posts) never fail with them.

I don't like auction, will lose days and risk the high bid player don't pay.

I need the money until 01 of july to buy another hardware, so who send direct to my btc account i will control it, if 01 july i dont get any offer i will sell to a friend that offer me 5 BTC.

The miners are new, i brought on bitmain 3 month ago. them cost me 15 btc (5 each one) now bitmain are selling for 3.069 btc each, you can save 1.20 btc if pay the amount i want (8 Btc) or save very more if win the bid with 5, 6, 7.... BTC

Yea we won't save anything if you take all our bids and vanish.

GUE take forever to confirm.

There is no need to be offended.   If your happy with their service, more power to you.  I, and obviously other people as well, are simply not willing to send off thousands of dollars to an unknown company on the other side of the world that categorically refuses to do escrow or take any other steps to assure us they are legit.  If they choose to pass up the business, that is their choice, just as it is our choice to simply use another vendor where this added risk isn't an issue.
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: on: June 26, 2014, 05:26:25 AM
Is there anyone thats not a NEWBIE buy from x-hash ?

Nope.

Sorry, I don't know which customer is newbie or not, but if you need reviews from people with higher degree, I guess I can try to ask if they are full member.

Don't do it for my sake. I'm not buying mining equipment at the moment. Also to me newbie / hero member only reflects how many posts someone made and how long they've been around. If  some hero member that I do not trust claims to have gotten a miner from you I will trust you less.

What buyers want is convincing evidence that you're not scamming them. Find a way to provide that. The easiest way is by answering their questions. And in many cases that means jumping through some hoops. Once you've done that trust will build up, more people will buy and it's xhash to the MOOOOON!!!!one!1!!

Until then you're considered a scam. I try to err on the side of safety with this.

^  This.  You don't take anything except bitcoin but won't do escrow.  The only people who can "confirm" receipt of your product are newbie accounts (which actually makes you look MORE suspicious then no confirms at all.  Seriously, who goes to all the trouble of creating an account on here, and then gives a play by play description of every step of the way for their order, and then takes pictures at the end unless they are a fake account shilling for the seller? ).
I questions this back on June 9th (see above) and was promised that real testimony from real people would be forthcoming.  As of yet, none of it has been provided.
Now, I won't go so far as to accuse you of being a scam.  What I will say is that unfortunately, the current state of affairs is to assume scam until proven otherwise.  So far, we have:

1.  Seller offering products at well below current market rate.
2.  Seller only accepting non reversible methods of payment.
3.  Seller refusing escrow.
4.  NO real people who have been around a while can confirm receipt of the product.
5.  Lots of very new accounts posting about how awesome this company is, and giving suspiciously GLOWING accounts of each and every step of the ordering process from start to finish.

Of course, all this could be avoided if you were willing to do escrow like all unknown sellers, or had an established business with lots of confirmed deliveries (think like, GAW, Zoomhash, Hashra, etc.).
374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi's price on: June 25, 2014, 10:45:14 PM
I think people assign too much importance to the fiat value of Bitcoin. 1 Bitcoin is always worth 1 Bitcoin remember.

Maybe, but surely you can agree there is a huge difference between one bitcoin being able to purchase one gallon of milk versus one bitcoin being able to purchase one million gallons of milk versus one bitcoin not being able to purchase anything at all.  I guess you can pretend to not care about it's conversion rate into one particular currency such as USD but you surely do care about it's purchasing power, which is essentially the same thing whether you want to call it that or not.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUTO-SWITCH] Profit-switch auto-exchange pool: CleverMining.com on: June 25, 2014, 08:01:01 PM
I get it.  Since it's only a $1.65 it's okay for him to steal it, or because he stole more from you two it's okay to steal it from me?
Or how about it obviously would have been more but I stopped mining there as soon as I realized I wasn't getting paid the full amount?
Or perhaps you two just think it is okay for a pool operator to steal funds from their user's, as long as it isn't that much?  By the way, what's the limit?  2 dollars?  10 dollars?  a hundred?  How much does he have to steal before it isn't okay?  How much has he stolen between me and the other people "missing" transactions?

Or perhaps I am being harsh accusing him of stealing, but then what do you call it when you know you owe someone money and don't pay them for 3 weeks?  I tried to be polite and patient but how long does it take for a pool to pay out if they are competent and honest?

Anyways, since you two think it is such a trivial amount then I will take you up on your offer to "mail" me the money, please by all means go ahead and send the stol....I mean "stuck" bitcoins to my listed bitcoin address and I will consider the matter closed.
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUTO-SWITCH] Profit-switch auto-exchange pool: CleverMining.com on: June 25, 2014, 05:33:26 PM
Ever plan on paying me?  3 weeks would sure seem like plenty of time....
Including your bitcoin address in your post would probably help speed up the support process..

I have already included it a half dozen times.   And been blown off each time.   Along with all the other people who haven't gotten paid either.  His software is obviously borked because I am not the only one having this problem; coins that were earned just stay in "waiting to be exchanged" forever.  Mine have been there for three weeks, others have had this problem longer.  He will eventually come along and promise "to fix it soon, just wait one more week please", at which point nothing will happen.

I don't know if he is intentionally stealing from his customers, too incompetent to fix his code, or just doesn't give a shit, but eventually your coins will get stuck too just like mine and some other people's, and then you can join us in waiting Smiley

378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This Family is Road Tripping Using Only Bitcoin... on: June 25, 2014, 03:56:44 PM
No matter how did they spend BTC through the entire journey and in what ways,  at least they were enthusiastic about BTC things. It was really a kind of big campaign for BTC.
Bingo. It can be a success for that regardless of whether you can call it "using only Bitcoin". Even the places that accept BTC online typically convert 100% of it to fiat immediately on purchase, so it's rare that you find a totally-Bitcoin transaction with a company.

It's a nice experiment that shows the current state of the Bitcoin economy as it relates to traveling the US: you can do everything you need to with Bitcoin, if you go a bit out of your way to book places and buy gift cards in advance. But the companies are usually only interested in holding the fiat, so it'll be converted sooner (when you buy the gift card) or later (when the company accepts your BTC and converts it immediately).

Wow really?  You think the average person sees this as a success story for bitcoin?  I see it as an abject failure.  How does this show that you can do everything you need to do with bitcoin?  He didn't do hardly ANYTHING with bitcoin.  He paid for everything with fiat cash and cash equivalents.
The average person seeing this is going to be thinking "yea, you can do anything you want with bitcoin, as long as you sell the bitcoin for cash first".  But of course you could say the same about anything.  The ONE transaction he actually made with actual bitcoin, was a failure, he lost the reservation waiting for transactions to confirm.
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: June 25, 2014, 03:49:08 PM
Unlike other companies who just does the manufacturing themselves expect chip,
this miner is completely manufactured in india by a company and ships it to alfaT as un-assembled parts.
AlfaT may not be getting proper updates from them. They may not give anything regarding manufacturing process.
That may be the reason for these confusions.

A better explanation is that Alpha T doesn't know what the fuck they're doing and they're just making it up as they go along.
380  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Horizon 4K VR headset pre-order on: June 25, 2014, 03:46:51 PM

Horizon could easily be working with QHD prototype screens from an LG G3 and waiting for the panels to arrive next year to up the resolution a bit- which is pretty similar to what they've hinted at.  But good luck convincing others that QHD phones don't exist too and that you couldn't strap them to your head with a couple of cheap fresnels!

Well put!  ;)That's what we're hoping.
QHD screens are already in the hands of so many kids and their new G3's.  Seriously, I bet if Horizon claimed to use these instead and give only QHD this guy would still cry they don't exist or some nonsense.   He doesn't seem to get the idea of a pre-order campaign. Or he's downright just slandering the competition.

Of course there's always risk in a campaign far ahead.  Oculus didn't have sh*t when they started.  At least guys show a prototype and have 4K screens coming from a couple of manufacturers in 2015 to back it up that it should be mainstream by then.

but what are you gonna do-  no one on this board hardly beleived KNC when they started either.  Just look at the beginning of that thread!

I have no regrets about my pre-order, and if they don't bring 4K next year, some other VR startup will- but that won't be Oculus since they use only one screen.

But why would you want to finance their operation?  They don't appear to be offering interest on this loan.  They don't appear to be offering equity in the company, or profit sharing, or anything.  Forget about believing in their business plan for a moment, why would you or I or anyone else want to give them an interest free loan?
