Actually not even in the rebuilding phase, Tom14Cat14 took everything when he left FIRE. We would have to create a new ANN, Twitter, Reddit, Website, Github, etc... The only thing FIRE has going for it is a working wallet, block explorer & website (not sure who has control of firecoin.tk), but if we get enough people showing support? I will create a new ANN, but I don't want to be considered the developer, community manager or lead, just one of the community looking to help a broken coin work again  Yes, I am still here and doing what i can (not much) to help this coin. I like it very much and do hope we can bring it back online again. I am not a dev unfortunately so my help is limited. |

Yes, I have mine set at 8k and they usually stake by day 14. I plan on moving my block size to 10k very soon in order to have greater coin weight and thus hopefully the blocks will stake within 12 days. I'll keep you posted.

I think it would take a payment of some Bitcoin and donations of some Octocoins to find a decent dev that could dig us out of this.
I agree if the community wants someone to take over this coin there would definitely have to be some sort of payment in BTC to find a decent dev that would be willing to take on this project  But the best of luck to the OctoCommunity Ok, how much? I am down to give whatever if we can stop all this bs and ACTUALLY get something done. So much talk and absolute shit happens. VERY disappointed. So again, how much??? Hey all, i have a little problem with my wallet and some missing/lost opals/transactions. I did my last back up yesterday in the evening before i went to bed, same as usual. This morning i looked at my wallet and found it with an error. So i closed the wallet an opened it, but it crashed again, don't know why... anyhow i decided to create a new wallet with my last backup. Blockchain is now complete and i have almost all coins back, but i miss a few stakes and most important my last withdraw from Bittrex which was about 680 Opal. These missing stakes and my withdraw are my last transactions, from 02.01.2015 and they are marked as collides/conflict ? My wallet backup is newer, but i am not able to get my last missing coins back. If someone could help and explain, thanks a lot! Maybe i can get my last coins back... On the upside, the recent GAW fiasco has made me appreciate our community and its firm devotion to integrity even more. Just been getting a ton of stakes lately and was just wondering what block sizes are you guys using? Most of my blocks are in the 3-4k range, with my highest block at 5500. With diff hitting double digits now, what are you guys doing differently?
Well I have mine set to 8k as I believe that compound interest will win out. Mine stake within 12-14 days max so I get two stakes within a month. They are at max of 1k but get two each month for each block. Then compounded it works out better. Just my opinion. |

This morning it came to our attention that Coin-Swap.net had been purchased by GAWMiners, which disturbed me a bit to say the very least. Coin-Swap’s past owner, Ian, was and is still a great friend of the Opal Team, and we congratulate him that he was able to profit from his exchange, as he deserves it. However, over the past few days it has come to our attention that Paycoin may not be everything it was claimed to be. There are multiple reasons people have called Paycoin a scam, and while it is unclear at this point, there are too many red flags for the Opal Team to trust GAW with our communities Opal, no matter how large or small. These red flags include: - A promise to the community to purchase Paycoin’s at $20/coin ( https://i.imgur.com/OVQdmym.png), which is four times the current price of Paycoin. GAW has tried to hide this promise ( https://archive.today/W3OTH), and has shown they cannot be trusted. - In an audit by Opal’s lead dev, Whit Jack, he discovered that special addresses stake at a rate up to 350%, which was never publicly disclosed, again proving they are not trustworthy. This has been verified by other users. These reasons, plus a few more have caused us to request Coin-Swap delist Opal, as both a protection for our community, and as a stand against GAW and other companies that prey on cryptocurrency users. ~The Opal Team Thank you for being proactive. I downloaded 2.2 wallet and had no problem.
I downloaded 2.2.1 wallet and had no problem.
Ran walletcheck and repairwallet and everything is fine. Staked a couple of times now and added some more coin.
Everything worked okie dokie. I guess, I was one of the lucky ones?
In any case, I think we should show some love to Noise. Working tirelessly on wallet upgrades, block explorer and
the rich list. Without which, we would no be able to stake coins, check our wallet and make sure we are on the
right block chain. And the rich list that kept crashing before, Noise came over and helped out.

I'm like you apparently, haven't had a problem since the great forkage of 2014... guess we're both just lucky... I have never had any problems with the tek wallet. I read this thread moderately to make sure on things and go from there. Noise has been awesome and I am loving tek. Don't understand why anyone is having problems with it. Easy to follow instructions. Hmmmm. If you have any problems the devs here are quick to answer and help. Anyway Happy New Year to all and I will make serious numerical acquisitions of tek this year.
