241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You selling to buy Xmas gifts or using bitcoins to buy Xmas gifts? on: December 18, 2019, 10:01:28 PM
I work full time in crypto and my salary gets paid in Bitcoin now so what I am doing is just taking out my salary and the little bit extra I need for the holidays but am still growing and investing aggressively again my Bitcoin holdings and other crypto bags. I am not buying anything frivolous right now as I want to do what I did between 2015and 2018 and rinse and repeat but this time do it properly and take the profits on all the highs and rebuy on all the lows. I am also day trading, well swing trading and practicing this buy low, sell high, so when my big bags explode, I don't just sit there staring at a screen lol and watch them pump then dump, nope..On EVERY ATH I take profits and rebuy on the downside. I have decided though not to buy any unnecessary items until my money is working for me and I grow enough assets and capital to relax a bit. This is a frugal Xmas for us because am just starting to get on my feet. I will buy myself a bitcoin cookie cutter though, from amazon, that's my treat to myself lol.
242  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Will hit 5500 ? on: December 17, 2019, 12:03:52 AM
Holdays for many are coming, Xmas, New Year, Hanukah, Diwali. Eid, Chinese New Year..Everyone wants to cash out for their lambos at holiday time so I see a big leaching of the market and even tether will go down some points as there becomes the mass exodus into Fiat over the next two to three months. I see a fall in price inevitable, thanks to Bitmex traders killing the price and constantly shorting the market , every time there is a little breather of a pump coming. With leverage trading, we have no chance of a big rise unless we get tons and tons of hodlers coming in and even then the margin traders can still manipulate. I easily see us hittign a 5k Bitcoin by Chinese New Year. I learned the hard way through this long drawn out bear market, that you need to trade to survive, hodling ain't good enough anymore, you need to trade, to accumulate more and also some tether for hedging.
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to prepare for long term HODL on: December 14, 2019, 03:28:09 PM
I will 100% agree with you, coins and hodling should be looked at as an investment. I now have a full time job, working with a blockchain and getmy salary paid to me in Bitcoin which at least means I have money to survive and plus some, then I look at growing my bags and doing extra Crypto work to build up my retirement portfolio and get back what I lost in the dump of early 2018, which I started to build from 0 anyway. Don't go into these so called crypto and bitcoin programs either, promising you a daily roi, and expect to live off that income, that is a big fail and that is something I want to add here also. Diversify also your portfolio, choose a few nice unicorns, that could 100 x and sit on them. Also if you can, do some trading, to grow your BTC stash and maybe store some USDT into NEXO, which gives you 8% annual APR interest as a hedge against the fluctuating prices of crypto. Look also for staking coins, or coins that have real use cases that give you a bonus or dividend. That could also grow int a nice income if you pick the right projects.
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alibaba cooperates with new blockchain platform, Is this project worth following on: December 14, 2019, 03:22:04 PM
Well any form of partnerships with blockchain and businesses can't be a bad thing that's for sure. How it will affect the price and more people investing into Credits as a blockchain business itself/ That has to be seen. Chinese and the Chinese Government behave differently around Crypto that other people and countries, there is a different mindset per Se as to how they view the technology and how they associate themselves with risk. They are risk takers, but also they want to dominate now this space. The last Speech the Chinese Premier gave was  a big hint and a command to the Chinese people, basically telling the Chinese, we want to dominate the Blockchain, be the best but we also are highly regulating the risk associated with it by promoting our DIGITAL RENMINBI/YUAN. So the impact on Credits price will be quite interesting to watch, if there is a positive one, that is.
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So Italy is now anti-cash and pro-Bitcoin? on: December 14, 2019, 03:00:45 PM
The Italian Minister Council continues to wage its war on cash, with the latest ratification lowering the maximum allowed amount for cash payments. This could lead to the rise of Bitcoin in the country.

The current officials are cracking down on cash usage and have lowered the maximum threshold for cash payments from €3,000 to €2,000 starting 2020 and 1,000 Euros onward from 2022.

Click here for the full news

To all Italian crypto enthusiasts here, are you in favor with this or not?

It seems that the prime minister of Italy is now in favor of cashless payments than spending paper bills in various products and services.

I also like his idea that companies who are operating in Italy are penalized if they do not accept credit or debit card as mode of payments for their customers. One thing that Italy should solve is those who are “unbanked”. Of course, not all Italians have a bank account or qualified to have a credit card.

Enter Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. I think this is a baby step towards full cashless society, and I strongly believe that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will also be part in their future system. What do you guys think about this?

Is this a great idea for Italy’s future? Should they be a great example to other countries who needs to transition from cash to cashless?

You know why this is happening? Mainly to curb corruption and tax evasion. It's a little like what is happening in Greece. Now most restaurants etc have to use card and everything is processed electronically because they used to doge paying the V.A.T, so the last government stepped in to curb the mess. Everyone wants money, free healthcare, free education, infrastructure, defence etc, but no one wants to pay tax. I understand we all want to dodge the tax bullet legally, but this is the primary reason this is happening and countries are going digital. How it will affect Crypto and the use of Bitcoin as a medium of exchange? It might have a positive impact and only time will tell of course. It will be interesting to see the outcome, say over the next two to three years.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto/Blockchain hype over? on: December 13, 2019, 09:54:10 AM
Yes the hype is not what it used to be in 2017 and a simple Google trends analysis shows you this,

https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=today%205-y&q=bitcoin

Looking at the chart, when we pumped to $13.8K back in June the peak interest was only 25% of what it was in 2017. And most people I talked too who were involved in 2017 simply moved on to other things like stocks.

There are still investments being made like the Kraken futures purchase of like 8-9 figures (forgot which exactly) and there is still marketing being done by Gemini all over New York City, however its nothing like 2017 were everybody was talking about Bitcoin.

I think it would need to break the $20K mark to make the overall interest rise again. With price declining its certainly not the case anymore.

It seems like so. 2017 was believed to be the "Golden Year of Crypto". The fall of prices across the market within the beginning of 2018, has shown a steep decline in people's demand for crypto within the mainstream world. There are still many faithful crypto enthusiasts (like me) that hope prices will go higher within the future. But without demand for crypto, we cannot expect this to happen anytime soon. The next big step for bringing back the "Blockchain hype" would be increasing the scalability and fungibility of crypto in its entirety. Only then, people will be able to see the true benefits of crypto relative to Fiat.

Once Bitcoin gets past $20k per coin, then things would get interesting for the whole Blockchain industry. No one knows exactly when this will happen since prices are still low these days. Maybe the next halving in 2020, would have a positive effect over Bitcoin's price and the entire crypto market. As soon as people see prices increase across the market, you could expect the "Blockchain hype" to take place once more. Until then, things will be quite silent for very long time. Let's hope that more businesses, and mainstream companies adopt Blockchain technology for their own benefit in order to keep the hype going and prices rising within the crypto market. Just my opinion Smiley

its kinda sad really.  we had such good steam there, now its pretty quiet Sad
crazy part is that its not that crypto is dead persay, its more alive then ever, but its become institutionalized.   price cant rise without whales taking profits and dumping it
projects are so busy with cash grabs making separate projects, everyone should have been working together instead Sad
meanwhile the highest ACTUAL registers of crypto patents, banks, have been silently adopting the tech all the while continuing to condem it to everyday customers
what a shame really.  such potential, getting absorbed, like everything, by capitalism : /

Yeap, the problem is whales are making so much money by shorting the market when trading on Bitfinex etc, that this is what has mainly killed the prices. I don't think Crypto is over, it's just the beginning, but I think only once we start hitting critical mass and real wide mass adoption will we see anything like 2017 again. We will need a ton of hodlers to come and start buying up everything and anything again and I don't see that happening as people are much savvier now. I now like to day trade, spot trading though, not margin trading and am still looking out for soem unicorns. I beleive that you just need to have a decent sized bag in one or two good projects that still have a potential to 50 or 100x over a two year period. You need to really be fll time in crypto to find out the latest trends and to be looking out for those winners. It's still possible to make a killing in crypto, but you need to put the hard work in it, the discipline to want to succeed and also the knowledge to get ahead. Coming in as a noob and going into a telegram group and buying a coin at ATH, is not the way to go and believe me, a lot of us here have been there and done that lol.
247  Economy / Economics / Re: what should consider before investing in a coin? on: December 13, 2019, 09:48:04 AM
There are too many deciding factors to take in consideration when one is doing any kind of due diligence. I at least from experience can say one thing. Now I don't trust FUD or FOMO for any project and also what goes on in telegram groups, unless it comes form official announcements form the project Teams themselves. I like to see how well the Team communicate with their investors, how much capital the team itself is willing to put up at the start of their project, if the project has a product or service that is solving a much needed problem, if the community behind the project is a solid and serious one and lastly, are they innovative enough to be ahead of the curve and the competition. These are the kind of things I will look for if I am investing in any sort of start up. We have to be vigilant and not lazy when we are doing our research, that's for sure.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Projects that failed to keep their promise in 2019 on: December 12, 2019, 08:55:58 AM
It's unfortunate that we have so many scammers in this industry due to the fact that it's still by and large a very unregulated one in many countries. Once we get more regulation, then there should be more accountability as well in regards to all of us who are involved in this niche market. I hope that in the future there is just enough enough regulation in place to make the crooks and criminals accountable for their bad deeds, yet lax enough to make it attractive for more investors and users of digital currencies to want to enter or remain in this space as a whole. I have one project in mind that failed miserably in 2019, that is ARB or APX, but I still hold out a 5% hope that it might deliver some product or service either be the end of this year or by the first quarter of 2020. Many people have left and gone and given up on the project but I hodl out a candle in case a miracle happens and the Team realize the potential of that platform and what it can do financially for all the token holders and investors who believed in that project, including myself.
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Eureka Coin on: December 12, 2019, 08:48:33 AM
Volume and trading will increase, I noticed the telegram room has exploded from like 150 members to over 800 in less than like 2-3 weeks. People are getting to know the project and I have noticed also in the exchanges, low ball buy orders at between 79-85 sats are being gobbled up by whales. I saw one whale literally eat 41k in one swoop because he gazumped my own buy order and I saw him eat those coins live. So more and more hodlers are coming to eat. Also the 50k coins hodling on EUREKAX exchange is going to be very attractive, because all future airdrops that happen  on EUREKAX form new coin listings will go to those that hodl 50k #ERK COINS on the exchange. That's like dividends or staking on steroids. Also more people hodl a bag of 50k there, less coins in circulation to be dumped. More and more hodlers are coming to buy up the swapped coins that are getting sold from the old coin swappers who are selling out. So fresh new hodler strong hands are coming now to scoop up the remainder of anything cheap that's left.  Smiley
250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10 Reasons Why Bitcoin Is Strong Today And Will Continue To Grow on: December 12, 2019, 08:38:05 AM
The Limited Supply of Bitcoin, plus all the value it produces, technology wise are just two reasons why Bitcoin will be attractive to many generations to come. It takes around 15-30 years for mass adoption to arise from any new technology, but as technology progresses faster and modes of communication improve, we should see the popularity of Bitcoin reach critical mass much earlier. I believe within the next five years we will see Bitcoin reach the same popularity that computers reached, then there was one in every home almost in the Developed World. Now people have also gone more mobile and as more unbanked people get roped in the financial system via the Blockchain and use mobiles to interact, there will be more and more adoption of Bitcoin, both as a currency and as a store of value.

Good news also those who hold 50k ERK COINS ON THE EUREKAX.IO EXCHANGE will be eligible for future airdrops of every project that will be listed on the EUREKAX EXCHANGE. So this will be another way to earn passively, just by holding the 50k erk coins on the exchange. Now that 41 million got burned off of the whole supply ( NOW 109 MILLION ONLY), This will give more incentive for long term hodling.

BLOCKCHAIN REVIEWS: INTRODUCTION TO THE HAWK NETWORK

The new video review of the project can be seen at the following link

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rUZ0KpFwgk&feature=youtu.be

The channel that posted the video has about 3 thousand subscribers

WOW Thank you for that, I think this project will catch on because the shared smart Scooters, will become like the Uber for shared transportation in a cheaper fashion, also it is decentralised as well, which makes it a really unique way to move around short distances, cheaply and effectively. I really hope someone open mnded enough will bring them to where we live. I can't drive or own a car, so getting around the village and seven kilometers to the nearest beach would be a treat using one of these. I would love to own one.  Smiley. This is why I stick with the Blockchain, because of these kind of forward thinking innovations, forget the scammers out there, this is real time use of Blockchain tech with AI.

I really do like where this project is heading and I regularly check the telegram group also for details. I am waiting to see how the pre sale went and it would be good to know and I asked this in the group, hopefully we will get some answers on that soon. I do hope the whole IEO process is successful as we want to see some good projects flourish in 2019, going on into 2020. We are fed up with all the scams that have plagued this Industry voer the last two years and have ruined many of us. I will report back if I hear news soon from the Team there in telegram.

I am following a really nice one right now called RIWIGO, I made a%video on it as well because I really think this one has promise because they are already an established business and gone past the start up phase and they have established a large clientele already. They are only selling 255 of their tokens in the IEO so they really don't need this money like normal startups do and their soft cap is 0, so whatever they sell, they sell, it will just help with their expansion into other countries. They are based out of Thailand at the moment but have had backing from Singapore.  Here is one of the two videos I made about this project as I think projects like these ar ethe ones that will shine in the future:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XEKvOuDnMc&t=61s
