301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins accumulated by institutional investors on: October 22, 2019, 07:18:28 AM
It looks like it can be a mix of both institutional investors, big lone whales and also exchanges. If you have noticed there are a plethora of new cryptocurrency exchanges opening up every month, so naturally, they will be housing some good number of Bitcoin in their hot and cold wallets for their customers. So although I do believe that institutional investment into the Bitcoin Asset Class has been going up steadily, I also think that OTC DESKS and Exchanges have also been cropping up in numbers as well. The big birds are for sure eating up all the little Bitcoin worms now. I want to see if more and more smaller holders will be popping up, as we want more decentralization to happen and this can only happen if we have many Bitcoin holders.

304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Before I Invest With Cryptoqurrency? on: October 20, 2019, 04:34:55 PM
I am done with following just one project and so now I am diversifying as much as I can into different earning avenues to do with Crypto. I do the no-risk ones, which is trading my time to get free tokens in various bounties and airdrops or I PM projects to do work for them such as promo videos etc. Then my investment risk now is covered into four areas. Low risk, medium risk, High risk and Extremely risky. So for now focusing 80% of my energy in to the no risk area to build up bags of coins/tokens and new capital. Then I divide myself in between the low and medium risk categories. High-risk category wise, I am in two programs which I was piffed into, so technically although they can fold any day, I didn't pay to invest in them.
305  Economy / Economics / Re: Millennial generation are screwed! on: October 20, 2019, 04:28:06 PM
My Son is a Millennial and he works very hard for a living. He has actually worked form the age of 16 and doesn't have time for video games. He might play two hours a week at most for recreation as he does a lot of other things in his spare time like exercise and go visit his girlfriend. He doesn't yet own any Bitcoin, although I wish he did have some when I told him to buy, I am hoping one day that will change at some point. Many millennials don't have the chance to go to University to even get student loans or live a privileged lifestyle to be able to sit eight hours a day to play and watch video games. My Son has worked form the age of sixteen as he dropped out of school and didn't want to go on. He did though now finish a level three security diploma so he is looking for a proper carreeer now in his field. A lot of youngsters nowadays don't have the luxury to be lazy and sit all day in their Parent's basements, so this is a really strong generalization there.
306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I just turned 40 today and want to be part in BTC Community (Beginner) on: October 20, 2019, 04:16:09 PM
Wishing you a great Birthday first of all and it's nice that older people are entering this space. Well, I am much older and will be 54 years old in January so I will be most probably one of the oldest people on this forum as most as Millennials and younger. I hope you have a prosperous journey with Bitcoin and its peripherals and this forum is the right place to get both an educated and informed overall view on the subject of Bitcoin and the Blockchain. There is a lot of scopes to cover and a lot of promise for the future. Where it all will bring us no one knows, but it's about enjoying the journey as opposed to just the destination. I hope your journey will be a pleasant one a mine wa smuch more difficult to navitate and I have experienced a lot of blunders, but I won't give up though. I think there is huge potential here for everyone to benefit from.

308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers are to be blame on: October 19, 2019, 09:58:32 AM
It's not just the project scammers but individuals lurking to scam everyone else. It's also about demographics and the problem with post-colonial issues. Many in Developing countries that were colonized by Americans and Europeans now have this manifesto going that their entitlement to scam others is because of what was taken from them by their colonial masters. A part of me gets the frustration that many are feeling because of what they inherited economically from these nasty Overlords, but many of these countries have become independent since then and their governments are riddled with corruption and Feudal and Archaic systems run by the Local Rich People, still enslaving a portion of their own populations, which again is causing all the scam rings to occur in Crypto. What we need to do is address the root causes of economic unrest, help people through being self-confident and empowered and also those colonial Overlords should give back what they took, well as much as they can for damages caused to generations of people and then the people wake up and use the blockchain to get rid of local corruption. Then all the scams will most likely be gone as people will be prosperous and healthy in their own countries, enjoying a decent lifestyle, good governance and no one ripping them off for their resources. Look at the miracle of Rwanda for example, how in just one generation Kigali is becoming like the new Singapore of Africa and it is one of the easiest countries now in the world to open a business in. We should all stop thinking of this us and them scenario, and start looking to the blockchain for solutions to the sick Human conditions that plague our planet. We all have to survive on this planet and feed our families, so if we thought of everyone else as our wider family, we would all stop to think and not rip each other off. Whether it's a colonial overlord or a scam ring in crypto.  Smiley
309  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Poloniex is leaving Circle - Discussion on: October 19, 2019, 09:36:38 AM
Poloniex was one of the first exchanges I used to trade in back in the day, after Cryptsy and some others. It's such a shame that the U.S has made it so complicated for its citizens to trade crypto, yet the WALL ST and Derviatvies Markets remain unregulated and unhindered as ever, to go and cause another economic crisis and collapse for another generation of people around the world. I hope they can still drum up enough customers for their exchange as POLONIEX was primarily a U.S run exchange with most of its customers from there. I remember I was living in Canada at the time I signed up I think if I remember correctly. It seems such a long time ago now though.
310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Opinion - The HK protesters should take advantage of Bitcoin on: October 19, 2019, 09:30:09 AM
Any form of decentralization is good to hedge your bets in a time of crisis etc. So it would be logical for people involved in any crisis demographic to grow at least a small bag of Bitcoin just in case things go more pearshaped in HK due to the rioting etc. I don't know though how far China will get involved in stopping the flow of money going out and how much of the Autonomy in HK will be affected monetarily though if everyone over there just started to buy tons of Bitcoin to hoard. I think it has to be done very subtlely and with small amounts, to make it easier for the hodlers to not get too much notice. If you do things too big and too drastically, then it may backfire on everyone involved and hodling Bitcoin over there. So my advice would be that they stealthily grow their Bitcoin bags unnoticed and unhindered.

312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you use crypto? on: October 18, 2019, 02:21:54 PM
I use it to live on but am running out soon so not sure if I can still sustain myself through Crypto alone or if I will need to emigrate and go abroad to find a normal day job outside of the internet. I got two more months to decide if working crypto full time is still viable for me or if I need to choose another path and just do this in my spare time. I do hope that I get another chance to grow some crypto bags and do well like I had done in previous years but this time be wiser and try to take much more profit out so I can do something substantial. I at least in the last three years had a chance to pay my rent, food, and bills in crypto and last year helped a few family members too, but a few unwise investment choices and the bear market have made me very thin now on crypto resources so am battling it out now to stay afloat. So for now at least I can still say I pay my bills and food in crypto.
313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Popularity of BITCOIN on Twitter Declining? on: October 18, 2019, 02:17:58 PM
Ever since the big bull run we had in 2017/2018, we have seen a tailing off of interest, but that doesn't mean that people are albeit less interested. Maybe there is a restructuring of interest and it's usually now big traders who talk more about Bitcoin, so it has become more of an expert or niche market revolving around day traders, etc. I think over time as more and more people become aware of Bitcoin and its uses we might get a bigger interest and Twitter and other Social Media outlets will reflect this of course. Let's see if the Bitcoin halving event taking place in 2020 will help bring about more awareness and buzz around BTC on Twitter.
314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to Bring Water to Ethiopia on: October 18, 2019, 01:50:56 PM
It's awesome to see some positive change and impact coming through Bitcoin and not us constantly hearing stories of scammers, hackers and criminals getting away with everything and training the name of Bitcoin all the time. Water is the most primary asset in my books and without it, we would all be toast anyway, so this is a welcome initiative and every village having fresh water, creates a sense of well being in all of us, not just for those who have been empowered and helped with this vital resource. I hope we can find more positive impact stories to read through and also when we have spare bits, be directly a part of. If all of us did a little to help, it would go a long way in changing how our world is shaped today.

318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which one is better for you guys ? on: October 16, 2019, 01:34:41 PM
I doubt an IEO that hits a top exchange would get no response rate. I think the question in itself is a little absurd to be quite honest. I wouldn't think Binance or a huge exchange of that caliber would want to list a crap project that no one would be interested in, so I think your question doesn't make much sense and is totally illogical. I would do my due diligence also on many accounts, not just if investor confidence is big or small on a specific project. I think you need to rephrase your question in a more appropriate way to engage some good debate. I think we need to see more in-depth education for investors in the Blockchain Arean than what we have already, so we can become much savvier as investors over the elong term.
319  Economy / Economics / Re: If you want to be rich..! on: October 16, 2019, 01:25:20 PM
Working smart is o.k if you already have some capital, but if you don't, you need to work hard and smart in the beginning. Then once you have a big lump sum of capital, you then make it work for you. I lost everything in the last bear market because unfortunately I worked very hard and amassed lots of coins but I didn't do the work smart part. Now I am starting all over again from literally 0, so if this time I do make it at least to one-fifth of what I earned in last bull run, even one-tenth, I will make sure I will be much smarter than before and learn from my previous mistakes. So I believe you need to work both smart and hardcore in order to become wealthy and also to maintain and grow the wealth you are going to build. That is where I failed miserably, so I learned a hard lesson form my mistakes.
320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Honestly, do you guys think cryptocurrencies will be gone anytime soon? on: October 16, 2019, 01:20:42 PM
Bitcoin and Blockchain technology will last a long time I think and it will take at least another ten or twenty years for it to reach the mass adoption phase. Just like the automobile Industry and the Internet and Computers took time to become widespread, the same will happen here. As for the rest of the cryptocurrency market, no one knows as many of the projects are just tokenized startups, so we don't know if they will survive or if they will die off. Many also projects are scams as well, trying hard to take everyone's hard-earned Bitcoin in a different way. I just hope Bitcoin outlives both my Son and my future Grandkids. I am sure it will outlive me.
