Grrrr. I wish you could edit the initial post in an auction thread.

The auction ends on the 29th of March at 3PM GMT. After this, it ends within 2 hours of the last bid.

303  Economy / Auctions / [WTS] Bitcoin Talk Account - Full Member - Potential Senior Member - [24 Hour] on: March 28, 2016, 12:53:19 PM
Hi
Selling a full member, potential senior member account. A link to the info is here:
http://www.bctalkaccountpricer.info/?token=5jr2isou
The account is from a defaulted loan. I will also only accept bids from those with neutral or positive trust.
Starting Bid: BTC0.01
Bidding Increment: BTC0.001
I will openly answer any questions.

You may have noticed I already have an auction thread for this, but the auction was extended and now bidders aren't interested and are ignoring messages from me. Also, the message notifying of extension is in the middle of the thread so people are unaware of the extension and probably think it's already. Essentially, it's just a mess. The post has been reported to the admins to remove.
304  Economy / Auctions / Re: [WTS] Full Member Account - Potential Senior Member on: March 27, 2016, 06:57:35 PM
Hello again.
I would like to bump this auction thread. I asked the account owner to repay the loan after an extension by the 28th March. The user has 4 hours left and has still not even contacted me. Please continue to place bids, as I highly doubt I am going to see a repayment. Just remember the auction will be canceled though if the user makes a very quick turnaround in the next couple of hours.
Thank you for all of the bids so far.
305  Economy / Services / Re: [WTS] Custom Bitcoin Addresses - Customise To Any Prefix! - VOUCH AVAILABLE on: March 27, 2016, 03:26:49 PM
I would take vouch , if available

1JustDie will be good  Cheesy
I am not willing to take 8 characters for a vouch as they take much longer to generate, although I will generate 8 characters for a price Smiley Please choose something 1 character shorter for the vouch. Please read the original post for character length guidelines Smiley

EDIT: VOUCH HAS BEEN CLAIMED BY EMERGE
306  Economy / Services / Re: [WTS] Custom Bitcoin Addresses - Customise To Any Prefix! - VOUCH AVAILABLE on: March 27, 2016, 02:26:13 PM
Lol, Fishbones!
U copied all that from shorena's thread and made your own thread.

Do u have special equipment for this, or are you just doing this on you laptop/computer?
When u do it on a computer, u will burn up your cpu/gpu.
There is no special equipment. Users usually generate vanity address on their own computer using GPU.

Btw OP, the letter l and uppercase O are not allowed. You should change the example.
Thank you, good advice. I knew l was not allowed (but completely forgot in the example) but didn't know about the uppercase O. Will change the example now, thank you very much.

Yes this is the same service Shorena offers. I believe Shorena's service is cheaper for some addresses (especially case sensitive). However Shorena conceals some of the method, so I had to research around a bit to see how I could also offer this service. Yes I understand regularly cooled computers are not designed for mining and address finding, thanks for the advice!

Can I take the vouch account?

1Emerge?
Is this possible?
Yes. Please follow the steps and PM me Smiley
308  Economy / Services / [WTS] Custom Bitcoin Addresses - Customise To Any Prefix! - [VOUCHED!] on: March 27, 2016, 12:47:00 PM
Hi,
So I myself was interested in generating a custom Bitcoin address for myself, beginning in 1Fish78. I managed to do this with help from some members on the forum. Now through my own light research, I know how I can generate addresses for other users without ever knowing their private key - so even though I generate your address, I will never know your private key and therefore I will not be able to access your coins. You can do this yourself, but my service just gives it to you for pennies, securely.

Cost of service is 0.001 for any address, not case sensitive, up to 7 characters long (including the compulsory 1 at the start of each address - so you choose up to 6 characters). Yes, ~$0.40 for a custom address!
Optionally I charge 0.002 for a case sensitive address. This means when asking for "1Fish", you will get "1Fish". With the cheaper non-case-sensitive address (0.001 BTC), you'll get something like "1fISh".

I can create addresses with more characters if you wish, PM me for details. I am currently happy to use an escrow, but will happily just take direct payment to: 1FTua17f5hJvF2kTBbzUE2NsYo1eEQ3wFg

Once You Have Purchased
1) Go to https://www.bitaddress.org/ and generate an address. Bookmark the page once the address is generated.
2) Click "Vanity Wallet" and click the "Generate your Step1 Key Pair" button. PM me the "Step 1 Public Key" (and the prefix you would like) and save the "Step 1 Private Key" in a text file on your computer. DO NOT LOSE IT.
3) Give me time. Generating these can sometimes take hours.
4) I will PM you with a partial private key (this is partial, I need the whole thing to access your coins - don't worry). Go back to the bookmarked page and go to the "Vanity Address" tab. Paste the private key you saved earlier into the "Enter Your Part Private Key" field and paste the partial private key into the "Enter Pool Part Private Key (from Vanity Pool):" field. Click "Calculate vanity wallet" and you're done!
5) Now simply take the private key generated and import it into a Bitcoin wallet of your choice! You generate the private key, not me (I just do the working out) - so I can guarantee I do not have access to your new wallet!

#1 Emerge - Requested: 1Emerge  - Address Given: 1EmerGERzQt2o6rWhTV9fcvuySGUCougAk - Payment: VOUCH! - Status: Done!

These addresses are called vanity addresses. I don't quite fully understand how the address were generated with those patterns but you can check shorenas' thread in here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1257817.0
She can make one for you if you like.
I have literally just edited my post above with the link I found in their siganture! Thanks for finding it for me anyway though Smiley Locking thread now as this has been answered more quickly than I expected.
Thank you for the replies.
310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Custom Bitcoin Addresses (e.g 1Fishbones78xxxxx....) on: March 27, 2016, 11:36:47 AM
Hi
So I keep seeing some members with pretty cool addresses, like BoeLens. I've also seen a couple for dice sites that begin with 1Dice....

How do people obtain these, surely it is just random and then the private keys go up for sale? But then couldn't the seller just keep a copy of the private keys? I would like to obtain one really, but I would feel it is a risk because the user could keep the private keys. If there is some sort of magical way of generating them, then how? I doubt it though because then people could easily crack other peoples wallets!

Thanks
There is a way that the seller does not have the private key.
U should contact shorena, because shorena knows how to do it and also sell these.
I'll send him a PM now, I will also have to investigate a bit on how I can ensure Shorena will not have the private keys (not that I don't trust them, but I have never interacted with him before).
Thanks for the reply.

EDIT: Sweeeeet! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1257817.0 Thanks!

Hello everyone,

I am currently seeking a 0.02 loan.

Repayment date would be 5 days.

Collateral available:

My BCT Account (not really worth anything)

Steam Account - https://steamdb.info/calculator/76561198239907234/?cc=us (currently trying to sell it on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1413735.0).

Twitter Account - https://twitter.com/TipsterCars

Thank you!
Twitter and Steam are easily repossessed. However, I will give you this loan if you have games in your inventory you can trade me as collateral? If not, any alt coins? I can fill this, but I really need some solid collateral unfortunately.

I can change the email to your personal email and desactive the Steam Guard on it so that you'll have the guarantee it won't be repossessed.

I only have two games on my inventory:

Frozen Synapse Prime
Advent Rising

Not really sure if you're interested in any of the two! Smiley

I do not have any alt coins, I'm completely broke and that's the main reason I'm looking for a 0.02 loan. Unfortunately I only get paid on the 1st of the next month! Smiley

No worries if you cannot fulfill it aswell, thanks for the reply!
Hi
I cannot fulfill the loan as those games are only worth around $2.00 to me. However I appreciate the quick reply and hope you can find yourself a safe and solid loan.

Thanks for the speedy reply.

314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Bitcoin Client do you use and why ? on: March 26, 2016, 11:31:12 PM
I use MultiBit. Although I use the classic (old version) rather than the new HD version. The reason for this is because the HD version just really irritates me, you must use wallet words and a few other features. It sounds ridiculous to be annoyed that it offers better security, but I like to control my own security, I don't want any of this wallet words and consistently fresh receiving address rubbish. Overall I chose a MultiBit because it is a light wallet. I don't see why people wouldn't just get a light wallet (unless I'm unaware of some cons...).

316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ridiculous Transaction Times on: March 26, 2016, 10:39:17 PM
Well, I guess that the recommended transaction fee isn't always so 'recommended'! I must have always been sending BTC when the blocks were very full! Thank you everyone for the replies, I will make sure to check the block capacity (if you could call it that) in the future. But I guess that if the problem is near full blocks needing higher transaction fees, we definitely need to keep asking for bigger blocks.

Once again, thanks for all of the replies.

Another post from someone who has used bitcoin forever,
but doesn't even know the most basic parts of the system.

I'll bet this person paid little to no fee.
There have been five blocks found since the OP created this thread.

If he isn't in a block yet, then there is no fee attached.
I said in the original post that I give a fee, so yes, I do know that you have to use fees for miners to bother with your transaction, don't jump to conclusions!  Tongue

What kind of fees are you using?

Personally, I haven't had any troubles getting my transactions confirmed in the first block after my transaction with the regular recommended fee of 10k satoshi. Are you sure it takes multiple blocks and it is not just the time it takes to find a block that is longer by chance?

If you are using sufficient fees there should be no reason for your transactions to take a long time to get included.
I also use a 10K Satoshi fee.

Are you willing provide the Tx ID of the transaction, so that we may see why you are having a delay?

It is possible you paid an appropriate fee, but the total size of your tx was much larger, thus needing a larger fee.
What was the data size of your tx?
No problem.
https://blockchain.info/tx-index/04f86b00ab6496957e35cb4b23e4bfd728954c2786b2f228069d3262d88e413c
Maybe the transaction time issues are on my end and not on Bitcoin, but I honestly don't see any problems. Once my transactions get 1 confirmation, they start gaining more very quickly.
Transaction times are not ridiculous, they're instant. How are they marked high priority? Did you calculate priority yourself?

As for dice sites, most required X confirmations before crediting.
No. Blockchain.info regards them as high priority. The dice site I was using requires 1 confirmation, and even in the client (as well as blockchain.info) I was still seeing 0 confirmations.

Blockchain.info seems to be quite inexact calculating priorities, so no reason to really take their word... Cheesy
You're probably right haha  Grin

It's just annoying that one of the bragging points of Bitcoin is transactions in minutes, but to me it really doesn't seem true.

320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Ridiculous Transaction Times on: March 26, 2016, 07:53:32 PM
Hi.
So since I have returned to Bitcoin, all of the transactions are taking nearly an hour if not more to get a single confirmation. This seems stupid to me, and it really puts me off Bitcoin. I buy things with Bitcoin but have to wait an hour to receive the item. I deposit into dice sites, and have to wait an hour to roll.

This is because of the small block size right? As if in my transactions can't fit into the next 6 blocks (approx.) so I have to wait 7 blocks to be moned for my transaction to confirm once? I'm not sure but that's what I think causes it? Yes I am paying a reasonable fee, all of my transactions are marked high priority.

Even if that isn't what causes it, it's really, really annoying. It's holding Bitcoin back if you ask me.

EDIT: Yes, I did write this whilst I was (and still am) waiting for a transaction to confirm once - coming up to an hour now. Took 62 minutes.
