801  Economy / Economics / Re: Why you should use spare money to invest on: May 18, 2023, 08:21:40 PM
There is no normal being that loves getting losses on business, career, investment and trades that's why even company holders make financial policies to keep record of investment and profits flows. And unlike other business bitcoin also makes sales and losses if you do not investment wisely....is nice when you put in what can not put you sickbed or gives you hypertension, don't invest out of what you cannot withstand the loss.
What must be known first is the principle of investing, especially in the cryptocurrency industry. We must ensure that we only invest money that we can afford to lose, as this is important for a good move in protecting our significant financial losses. Although investing in cryptocurrencies has high profit potential, there is also considerable risk due to market volatility and uncertainty. I think we must continue to follow this principle and continue to maintain it so that we can minimize losses.

Quote
Is better to use small money or learn risk management first before investing especially newbies.
These two points are actually very good and should be a guide. As a beginner, you really have to start by using small money and learning risk management is the best and wisest approach to investing, especially for beginners in the investment world.
802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 17, 2023, 02:45:47 PM
if you look at the statistics of some of Manchester City's matches this season it is indeed very good but the opponent they are facing now is Real Madrid and in the semifinals of the UCL, here it is not just performance but the team's mentality and confidence will have a big influence.
Yes, I agree that Man City vs Real Madrid is not about mentality, but about who can control the game until the end of the match. Of course Man City must learn from last season's mistakes, only because they were careless in the last 10 minutes Man City, who had already won 2 aggregate goals, finally lost because Real Madrid made a comeback.

Quote
Manchester City will indeed be highly favored to win the match but I think anything is still possible and in my opinion both teams have the same chance.
it will be very difficult to predict.
The Man City vs Real Madrid match is difficult to predict, Man City is very ambitious to win the UCL with the world's top coaches and extraordinary players. Real Madrid is also very ambitious because it's the only trophy that can still be obtained with a coach who is full of experience as well as the players who have a winning mentality and the club also has a long history in the UCL league.
803  Economy / Economics / Re: Deposits-in the bank or in gold? on: May 17, 2023, 01:55:26 PM
I agreed I would rather place my money into gold rather than deposits into bank, I know that some people will said that gold is high volatility but that is the main source of the double-digit APY  Grin
And if we buy gold I think it would be more liquid than the locked deposit that is offered by a bank. You buy and hold when you need money just sell with no waiting time.
Yes, it's true, this is one of the reasons why I chose to buy gold instead of depositing it in a bank. because of the liquidity advantage of gold we can buy and sell it relatively quickly, when we need money. For future savings, it's better to buy gold (long-term future savings, a minimum of 10 years is taken) for an emergency fund, it's better to have cash for the remaining 6 months of living expenses in the bank. This is what I've been doing all this time. Don't mess with funds for business + business development. be a smooth business + have future savings + have an emergency fund. Of course if we have more money, we can buy bitcoins to add to our long term investment in the future.
804  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 16, 2023, 09:39:26 PM
Finally,  irer Milan is leading with a 1-goal difference and the match has gone past the time to speculate what the outcome of this season is going to be,  but already the possibility of Inter Milan continuing in the spirit of the current situation position but then we can't underestimate any club.
At first, many underestimated Inter Milan. But now I think Inter deserve to be in the UCL final, the fact is that Inter milan is in the same group as Bayer Munich and Barcelona and Inter milan can qualify from the group which can be said to be the group of hell. Meet Ac Milan in the semifinals now proceed to the finals. It must be admitted that Inter this season in the UCL is better than Milan.

Congratulations to Inter MIlan for fighting for their first UCL Final this season since 2010 and their second European Final in the last four seasons.
Inter milan managed to Revenge against Ac Milan for the 2003 UCL semifinals which at that time Inter milan lost because of away goals.
805  Local / Ekonomi, Politik, dan Budaya / Re: Apakah Indonesia harus mengikuti saran Bank Dunia on: May 16, 2023, 04:22:31 PM

806  Economy / Economics / Re: Why America Can Be The Biggest Economy In The World? on: May 16, 2023, 01:03:14 PM
In this thread, I want to discuss the story of a country that for the last 100 years has succeeded in becoming the largest economic power in the world, especially if it's not the United States. even though about 150 to 200 years ago the American economy was nothing when compared to, for example, the British Empire, the Chinese empire and also the kingdoms in Hindustan, but only in a short time, the current American country could become a giant power in proportion to GDP (Gross Domestic Product). reached 24% of all GDP in the world.
Because in the past, America carried out a massive expansion, the goal of which was of course to control regions that were indeed rich in natural resources. And some have forgotten that one of America's benefits was when it participated in WW I and WW II. At that time, the Aryan nation's technology was actually very prominent, and more advanced than other European countries and the USA. America reaped the benefits by seizing the technology that the Nazis had when they won the battle. One of them is the mastery of rocket technology, during WWII it was only Hitler's troops who were able to develop long-range missile launches.

Quote
So the question now is why did America become such a big economic power? even though if we look at the history of America 100 to 200 years ago it was just a nomadic colony which was a runaway from the Europeans so at the beginning of their independence in 1776 the American people were still very far from the word prosperous, most people in America needed to fight to fight against the ferocity nature and winter even fought against the local population to be able to survive everyday with a GDP that was only 2% of the world's GDP at that time. The United States is by no means considered a force to be reckoned with. My question is what are the factors that make the United States the largest economy in the world?
There are 2 important assets for a country to become a developed country and at the forefront of its economy:
1. Natural wealth
2. Mastery of technology.

Countries with abundant natural wealth without mastery of technology will still be underdogs. Many countries have a lot of natural resources, but minimal technology. So that almost all sectors and lines rely on helping hands from other countries.

Likewise if the state is only able to master technology without the support of natural resources. Its progress will depend heavily on the support and cooperation of countries possessing natural resources, for example, Japan and Germany. Technologically they are quite advanced, but their management is limited due to the lack of local natural resources that can be processed.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: May 15, 2023, 11:52:05 PM
the president of barcelona is very confident that messi will choose barcelona over al hilal but if i become messi who has won all the trophies including the world cup then money is my ultimate goal at the end of my career as a footballer. al hilal dares to give messi a salary of up to 400 million euros per year, that is truly an extraordinary figure, while barcelona cannot promise anything including a high salary to messi so if messi chooses al hilal, that is very humane.
The question that popped up in my mind. If Lionel Messi is allowed to negotiate with any club because his contract will expire in June, why hasn't the Manchester City club negotiated and submitted a proposal like Al Hilal?

To be honest, I don't expect Lionel Messi to return to Barcelona, it will damage young players who are improving in performance because they will be unable to compete, let Barcelona be without Messi so they don't depend on Messi, unless Messi comes to Barcelona as a coach one day.
808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin IS an asset. Do you think it's bad? on: May 15, 2023, 08:23:45 PM
What do you guys think about that? Do you think it's okay that we as a community treat Bitcoin as an asset and not as a technology that should be used to give people freedom from the banks?
Bitcoin can be seen from various dimensions and can also be seen from various different points of view, of course. Since bitcoin was created by Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin has become more than just a crypto digital asset but has now become a means of payment in certain areas.

Of course, the existence of bitcoin does have an impact on banking institutions. What is certain is that banking will be rivaled by the blockchain technology that underlies bitcoin. So, banking here should also accommodate and adopt cryptocurrencies with banking products. Because after all banking and bitcoin still need each other.

people's view of Bitcoin really depends on the background and purpose of that person's point of view. Some see it as a potentially profitable investment tool, while others see it as a technological innovation that will change the way we interact with finance. Regardless of which point of view one chooses, for me Bitcoin is a technology and ecosystem that is constantly evolving, it is an innovative proof of concept that we can transact securely, transparently and decentralized.
809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: May 15, 2023, 06:06:29 PM
You seem neutral to all teams even though I thought you were a Real Madrid fan. Lol
I also have to congratulate Barcelona and its fans after they managed to confirm the La Liga title in yesterday's derby match. I'm really surprised Espanyol fans don't give the respect they deserve to Barcelona who have managed to get back on track with the championship, but emotions have not been suppressed by the rivalry.

Barcelona of course has a tough task next season if they force the arrival of several new players. Barcelona's financial condition is in trouble, they have to adjust salaries and maybe extend the contracts of some old players. Xavi has got a great job, but if Barcelona are struggling to find a budget, then Barcelona also don't have a higher chance in the Champions League next season.
Congrats to Xavi. I Salute Anyway xavi is a genius trainer. In the midst of a very difficult Barcelona situation, a mediocre player. Unstable finances Xavi is able to answer all the doubts many people have about him. Slowly Barcelona will return to the right path and be able to compete in the UCL again next season. Barcelona has never failed to produce formidable Lamasia products.

By the way Espanyol fans don't give respect. I remember the 2006/2007 season where Espanyol was the cause of Barcelona not winning the La Liga at that time and they were extremely euphoric. Finally 16 years later Barcelona retaliated by being their decisive team for relegation.
810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 15, 2023, 01:47:23 PM
Gunners defeat yesterday at emirate stadium scattered their plans to compete with city for the league title. Brighton cut their dream short with a thrilling win of 3 nil against gunners. Arsenal fans are frustrated with the current situation on ground, they qualify for UCL but they fall out from the title race. It was their ultimate target to win the EPL trophy this season,  I guessed they were wrong on that. Mike Arteta will keep pushing for another title race next season, although he will reinforced his squad for the top fight next season.
When a team is required to win at home, Arsenal lose instead, Arsenal's biggest problem is mentally. not technique, skill, or collectivity. because in terms of quality on paper Bringthon is far below Arsenal, the key to winning the EPL is in consistently winning against mediocre and small teams. Not winning bigmatch matches, it's useless to win against Man City, MU, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham if small teams often draw or lose against smaller teams.

Congrats to manchester city the epl championship is near. for Arsenal, hopefully this will be a better lesson for next season. This season, the target has been achieved, namely returning to the Champions League, it's okay, the most important thing is that the champions league can return to Arsenal. For me, Arsenal have improved a lot this season, they just have to wait for next season to transfer quality players and have a strong mentality if they want to compete next season.
811  Economy / Economics / Re: Without government job we can survive on: May 14, 2023, 01:24:36 PM
Usually a job in a government agency is only enough to meet a person's needs in a month so that person will take a very long time to grow to become rich, unless his monthly salary is very large because he is placed in a certain position that is better with a bigger position. That is why most government employees in many countries still want to work independently to continue to increase their income in life even though they can also live without having to work anymore because they already have a monthly salary through government agencies.
It's true that working as a government employee doesn't make us rich, but why do so many people still want to become government employees? Because the most valuable thing for government employees is a lifetime pension guarantee, even if they are widows/widowers they also get pension insurance and their first and second children also get it if they are not yet 25 years old. (this is what happened in my country)

While it is true that the salaries of government employees are generally sufficient to meet their daily needs and not enough to save or invest with existing income. So it's only natural that as a government employee you have to be smart to find additional income to become rich.

In essence, not all government employees have to rely on a monthly salary alone to achieve financial success. As a government employee, you must be smart about using your free time to run a side business or involve yourself in investments that can generate greater profits.
812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 13, 2023, 08:12:21 PM
Milan lost too, what is happening?

not it is time for Inter vs Sassuolo Shocked, do they will lose too?
This week AC Milan has lost 2-0 in a row. After losing to Inter in the UCL, in Serie A it was Spezia's turn to beat AC Milan. From here it can be seen that AC Milan is very dependent on the player R. Leao, without him the front lines are dull and always lose in every game.

Of course, this defeat made it even more difficult for Ac Milan to compete to finish in fourth place. On the other hand, Spezia's victory in the match has kept hopes of surviving in Serie A.

Currently Inter Milan is 3-1 ahead of Sassuolo, goals scored by Romelu Lukaku in the 41st minute assist from D. D`Ambrosio and the second goal was created very beautifully from a long-range shot by Lukaku and then hit by Ruan (OG) in the 56th minute. and the third goal was created by L. Martinez in the 58th minute. Sossuolo reduced the lag in the 63rd minute goal created by M. Henrique assist from D. Berardi.
the match was still going on very well, buying and selling attacks, now it's already 67 minutes, will Inter be able to add another goal?

I also doubt that Juventus will be able to handle Sevilla well in the second leg even though in the first leg Juventus managed to equalize by winning a draw. Because Sevilla will definitely play even stronger in the second leg which will take place at their own cage, but Juventus can also give their best performance in the second leg if they are able to surprise better in the second leg because in general both of them still have the same chance to win the match in the second leg.
The fact is that Sevilla had previously entered the UEL quarter-finals 6 times and won 6 times, the semifinals 6 times and made it to the final 6 times and all were Champions. This means that if Sevilla enters the Quarter Finals then they will be the Champion. This season they qualified for the quarter-finals for the 7th time and won. Now in the semifinals, the first leg is a draw, can they win the second leg? does the record stand or not? we have to wait, I think the second leg will be very tight.

I you were always following the latest update from roma and you will know that if dybala and wijnaldum were on the bench caused by they have been injured. Dybala and wijnaldum have not yet fully recovered from their injury. That will be so bad to force them to play against leverkusen.
Dybala has been facing severe ankle injury and that was making him unable to play against leverkusen. Im also feeling doubt if dybala will able to come back at the end of serie a.

There have been more players of as roma who have been suffering injury. It's smalling. The draw will be enough for roma to go to the final.

Roma didn't need to win against leverkusen in the second leg. I think that the special one has been fully preparing the match against leverkusen. 1-0 looks so small but it means a lot for roma. It can also boost the mentality from roma before it will be playing away.
With the quality of As Roma's squad this season plus the hurricane of injuries to key players, I really didn't expect As Roma to reach this stage. Jose Mourinho may just be ordinary for strategy, but to shape the mentality of players is truly extraordinary.

I'm sure now that Jose Mourinho is focused on UEL they will give everything they have because in my opinion it makes more sense to get a UCL slot next season than fighting in the league. In the league, even if you keep winning, if the other team also wins, you still don't enter the UCL zone. in the UEL As Roma can fight with their own strength without depending on the results of other teams.
815  Economy / Economics / Re: As an Economist how do you tackle inflation? on: May 12, 2023, 02:53:14 PM
The price of commodities are becoming more scary by the day. As an economist with lots of bills to settle how do you deal with the price hikes, the expensive cost of living, The fluctuation in volatile assets and the demand to meet our every day needs.

Most nations are facing currency devaluation, economic downturn, Static GDP and slow revenue generation. What are your secrets for meeting the day to day expenses regardless of the inflation.
the effect of inflation could be due to the war politics of government policies, but inflation is only natural, every month, week, it can change, maybe another solution is to increase income. For example investing in bitcoin, becoming a YouTuber, trading online, etc. because we really need to take advantage of increasingly advanced technological developments like today.  In essence, investments must use money management, as simple as that. When you have $ 100, don't invest all $ 100, from $ 100 only 30% is for investment.

Another way might be helped by starting to instill a minimalist life. so no longer buying things you don't need and money that is usually used for shopping doesn't need to be allocated for extra money for daily needs.
816  Economy / Speculation / Re: My advice to you regarding bear markets. on: May 12, 2023, 02:16:32 PM
Keep accumulating crypto and you will reap the rewards in the future!
For me for long term investment is Bitcoin because bitcoin is the most established and stable and this is my handle to be a good choice for long term investment. Therefore, if you want to reap good results for the future, buy bitcoin little by little instead of buying altcoins which may not necessarily make you good in the future.

For example, as you said about LUNA, which has bankrupted investors even though they have a strong development team and innovative products, and have a large and loyal community that supports the project but can go bankrupt too. It's true that it doesn't mean that all altcoins will have the same fate but for me for long term investment it remains the right choice collecting as many bitcoins as possible.
817  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 11, 2023, 09:39:57 PM
Definitely the odds are for Manchester city not because of the past encounters with those clubs but Real Madrid have played badly when they usually visit the Etihad Stadium. Although Manchester city do not have natural fans to make the stadium a night mate for its visitors yet but they will rally behind their team like the one they saw in the Bernabue. Real Madrid also are somehow homeless when it comes to the champions league football. They can build just any team, any where. So this match is still just unpredictable but certainly the odds are for Manchester City.
Leg 2 Man city is indeed a favorite because they are playing at home, Real Madrid has the burden of maintaining the UCL title. But Man city is still on fire for the new champion. From the history of the last 4 meetings between Manchester City vs Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium:

It was very hard for Real Madrid to play at the Etihad Stadium because they had never won (2 draws and 2 defeats). Only Real Madrid's champion Mental DNA can determine their steps to stop in the semifinals or continue to advance to the final this season regardless of Man City's performance which is currently doing well. The chances of the two teams are still 50:50. Anything can still happen in the second leg later.

Quote
Inter were just on their best yesterday if not their attack also hasn’t been great all season. The Milan played woefully in the first 25 minutes maybe they missed the presence of Rafael Leao in the attack. With this score line in the first leg I strongly doubt that Milan will triumph over inter in the second. As for the record inter has won all their games against Milan this year (3 out of 3) and this will give them the much pump they will need for the second leg.
I am sure that in leg 2 Simone Inzaghi will definitely play reactive by playing waiting for a counter attack because he is already 2-0 up. Simone Inzaghi will play with a standard formation when in possession of the ball 3-5-1-1 (5-4-1 when losing the ball or when defending) the same way when he brought Lazio to the supercoppa and supercoppa championships with Inter as sober players. Because it must be admitted that Simone Inzaghi is one of the specialist coaches in competition championships.
818  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Technical indicators vs the News on: May 11, 2023, 09:08:20 PM
Analysing the trend of the crypto market can be very complicated, base on the fact that their are two major deciding factor in price analysis when trading, which are the technical indicators an news about a project.
I have not been in the crypto space for not too long but I have come to the conclusion that the news is more influential in the trend of the market than the technical indicators, guys what do you think?
For me these 2 factors can influence the trend in the crypto market. Because in some ways, news can have a bigger impact on the market than technical indicators. Because news deals with global economic developments which can have a huge impact on market trends. An example is the announcement of a ban or restriction on crypto by the government or a large company announcement about crypto adoption that can affect the price of crypto. News can also trigger panic among investors which can impact market volatility.

Meanwhile, technical indicators can provide indications about market trends and support levels. This indicator measures the momentum and direction of price movement and can assist traders in making trading decisions. So, it is important to consider both factors, namely fundamental and technical factors. we have to stay updated with the latest news and understand how it can affect the market, but also have to understand and master technical analysis.

820  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are there boards or threads that a newbie is not supposed to post in? on: May 10, 2023, 10:36:49 PM
Hello everyone.... I've seen handful of boards and threads that I can make reasonable contributions to by sharing my knowledge about some of the topics that are being discussed in these boards and threads but as a newbie, I don't wanna make unnecessary mistakes and that brings me to the question of "Are there boards and threads I'm not supposed to post in as a newbie"?
technically no board is out of bounds for beginners. However, there are some boards that may be more difficult to understand or require more in-depth knowledge of certain topics to contribute effectively. For example as others have mentioned above, Serious Discussion and Ivory Tower should only be for high quality posts and not for spam. These two boards are designed to address more serious and complex topics, thus requiring more focused and in-depth contributions.

Advice to you OP As a beginner it is important to choose a board that matches your interests and knowledge. Try to start with more general or easy-to-understand boards and then gradually expand to more specific or complex boards.
