The developer /GeertJohan is working on a simulator at least once a week for about 3 hrs a week according to the live feeds , so it wil take another 3-6 months before it's completed at this rate as people are saying it will be a first for cryptos. So expect the development changes for the new algorithm to be done middle of next year.
Wrong.People, including my team, are already working on modified code to test against this simulator to see if the our code changes work. We can either bring down the network to test a bunch of possible changes with the network hashrate. OR... we can run a bunch of smaller simulated networks as a test with the simulator, each with their own code changes, and not disrupt day to day use. The simulator and ground work being done by /GJ is absolutely needed. Stop the FUD. -Fuse I think investeerder is trying to force the price down, if it was going to take 6 months it would mean iOS to Apple Store only middle next year. lol

Guldencoin Crossroads
The way I see things right now is that guldencoin devs doing work on something that is not going to benefit the coin against other coins who have more stable network. It has to be new algorithm to make it all worth it because it take too long to fix. I know it need to be done but it also prevents other advancements in guldencoin as devs keep all focus on algorithm change.
On positive side this last 2 month has shown how strong this community is who have added to Guldencoin, Don't get me wrong the updates still come fast but not from dev team and more from the users which is better as coin does not rely on team so much.
Patience, all good things come to those who wait, once our network is running smoothly we will have that plus A LOT of other things 99% of the other coins don't have Looking at the timeline on the OP always amazes me how much has gone into Guldencoin, if anything I would say marketing is most likely the biggest weakness.

Nice to watch! Any idea how long it takes to complete it? Feel no pressure by asking this Sure np; I've just finished some small bugs in the simulator (simple wave simulator adds/removes a random amount of hashrate between 0 and 10%). Then I got stuck on translating some code from C++ to Go so I skipped it and did a workaround. The algo was working with float's (numeric values) to calculate the diff, but the real algorithm works with a 256-bit unsigned integer. So I'm transforming the Go DGW3 code to work with that same type of data. When that's is finished we have a complete DGW3 simulation running. After that I'll have to implement the more interesting simulations: large miner joining/leaving at random, and multi-pool simulation (leave at high diff, join at low diff). I hope to have that done somewhere the comming week. Great work /GeertJohan ! I wish i could program like you do, saw you work last week friday. Respect!

Hi All, Coinmarketcap is now using our official block explorer and our figures are all showing correctly. Should you want to tip coinmarketcap for it's great service, below is the tip address. Ok, everything should be updated now. Thanks for your patience and the info!
My address for tips: GRwZ9J8APhWZJLicXtv3T15oVUcWz4MCZ8
We are officially ranked 66 at the time of this message and our aim is to be stable top 50 currency within the next 3-6 months. Just to add we now have a new API on the block explorer for all coins. Below are the 2 APIs showing the coins that are in circulation and total coins including premine. https://explorer.guldencoin.com/sapi/totalcoins --> Coins currently in circulation https://explorer.guldencoin.com/sapi/totalcoins?type=all --> All coins including premines not taken. I see Guldencoin is only countrycoin in top 100. We should be proud of this!

FYI: The Norwegian exchange JustCoin.com has shut down. In an email they informed their customers that their bank (and other Norwegian banks) have ended co-operation with crypto-related businesses. That is bad. JustCoin.com was a great way to change BTC to Euro and get paid directly on your IBAN account. If you have funds at Justcoin, you have to withdraw asap.
I wonder who is pulling the strings in Norway. Just shows you that governments serve themselves before the people.

I still think a longer maturity time for newly minted blocks is a nice and simple feature.
Yes we agree and this is something we could start with. Was digishield maybe not better because all the scrypt coins went with digishield or is it because of > 2 min block times that makes it more difficult?

This link is great https://distribution.guldencoin.com/#/stats and shows the honesty to me that not as many people have taken the coins yet as I thought. I remember another coin (won't mention name) that claimed over 50 000 people had claimed coins in under 3 weeks. The scary thing is what will happen when over 3000 of us have claimed and getting involved along with our great community users from around the earth. It will just keep growing exponentially and people can now see this is still very early days for guldencoin. Please excuse my English and grammer. This looks like a very honest representation of the current Dutch community and gives me more confidence and trust in this team. The whole environment you creating around the seeds page is epic /GeertJohan and which other devs are involved with it.

Offcourse i will! Sneakpeak : Have you thought about opening your own payment processor for merchants? You would have a good start with all the merchants that accept Guldencoin already and it wouldn't benefit the other shitcoins like EFL they have listed on litepaid.com ? I think the community would even raise funds for this so the hard work being put in by the team and community to get merchants wouldn't benefit other coins?

What is happening at the moment on bittrex, there is 1 million sell order and then over 1 million buys. Is the 1 million sell order there to keep people selling low so people get more coins for less?

Thing is, price needs to drop and lower difficulty needs to rise (read: more dedicated miners). This way the switching miner will not be interested in NLG any more. The question is where these limits are?
Let it drop to under 200 , I think that will keep them off our backs. It really doesn't matter what the price of NLG is for the next 2 - 3 months. We all know in 3 years it's going to be big.

Just looking back through the block explorer and Hardcore's block stats it appears to me that the new diff algo in it's current form has not worked. The only blocks that Hardcore are finding are the high diff blocks every hour or two which then opens the flood gate for Clevermining to rape the coin, leave, rinse and repeat.
I've mined NLG on and off since day 1 but I haven't mined it for weeks due to the diff adjustment problems and frankly, the recent algo change appears to not have made one iota of difference. This is a shame as I saw huge potential in this coin. How are your merchants going to be able to accept the coin if it takes over an hour for one confirmation?
Digishield and dgw3 work best with 1 minute block times If it's possible to set block time to 1 min and divide 1000 by 2.5 for block reward. That will help a lot.
