yes, scams are a problem. And i suspect a good  portion of those scams is orchestrated by the bitcoiners to hold the alts down and teach people "just stay with bitcoin". It also explains why these scams are allowed here.

I think its a shame that this forum has no one in charge....just a bunch of mods that act like kids.

Grow up and help bitcoin grow!

Maybe there needs to be a Bitcoin Mining Foundation with free membership and some perks for pool owners so you at least have the ability to communicate with them before a major change.

You must be trolling.

No, just making the point that there is no organization or consensus that unifies the miners like the org that unifies the businessmen. They can't even contact all of them anymore.

I'm already feeling sorry for posting this as I'm giving out ideas to take advantage of this great campaign, but that's just the way my brain works and in interest of full disclosure of what's true and possible, here it goes.
People can spam around with sock puppet accounts and report their own posts from their credible account to get paid more, it's easy and it doesn't take much time nor resources. This will have the opposite effect of reducing spam. Since the more spam people report the more btc they'll make, ergo spam == btc. Should take great care who you're paying.

I suppose you are better send a PM to OP instead of making public here if you are really concerned about sockpuppets taking advantage of such a great initiative.
Always think & take a breath before posting!

Just my 2 satoshi!

BTW from what I found on google you do have to pay the IRS taxes on bitcoins.

You don't want to pay taxes? Would you like being a freerider taking advantage of Social Security & Federal/State/Local services?
Bad baby, bad baby...

1216  Other / Meta / Re: Vod - taking a hiatus from the forum for a couple months to study on: January 12, 2015, 11:58:42 AM
Hey all, I figured I'd post this in Meta since I'm a substantial contributor to the forum, and I get a lot of PMs from people asking for information or giving me tips.

Someone I respect recently told me I seem like a different person lately and it's true.  I'm in a career change and it's not going well.

The last two months I have been studying Object Orientated Programming (before I used to do procedural programming).  The end result will be a certification from Microsoft in the C# programming language.  I'll be moving my business to 100% programming down from the 20% it is now.

I get frustrated studying (I'm not learning as fast as I was even 10 years ago) and I come back to the forum and the frustration follows me.  This causes stress, which in turn, causes me to have more distractions while studying.  It's a negative cycle that has to stop right away if I can even hope to meet my time goals.

I won't be logging into the forum (even to check messages) as any news on what's going on here will get me hooked and stressed all over again.  I plan on coming back only when I get my Microsoft certification, which should be March or April.

In the meantime I'd ask other default trust members to continue to be vigilant when dealing with newbies, ponzi operators, etc.. all the things I used to handle.

There are a few of you I'll miss chatting with but mostly, this forum has become a waking nightmare to me since I started studying.

Thanks for reading guys, and I'll see you in a couple months!

Vod

Good luck Vod with your study & career! You took a very wise decision and we all wish you all the best.

OK, I should stop being so cheesy and go back to my own books!

Shocked

Yesterdays withdrawal took a bit longer than normal.

For me, dodgecoin is the only reasonable withdrawing option.
PayPal: I definitly avoid to put PayPal and Bitcoin together.
Cryptopay: Their exchange rate is way to high (at the moment about 8% + 1% fee)

+1. However, I would like to say that Today dogecoin withdrawal are quite normal; it took only 1 hour to have them credited to my wallet.

I don't think they could run that easy.

Moreover, you saw office picture / videos with the people working in that company. they have a verified paypal and banking accounts where the money is going through.

I found access to 1 camera of the mining center : http://dc.cointellect.com/

Where you got such webcam url? What about such mining center? Could you tell us more about?
