1421  Economy / Speculation / Re: is it a good idea to buy bitcoins now ? will bitcoin go up or down in next 2-3 y on: January 09, 2016, 10:11:23 AM

not sure if the price will go up or not so im askin the expert what do you think. i got about 700 dollars going to buy 2 bitcoin or 3.

Let us know if you bought more bitcoin until now, because the price cchanged very much from August.
Now with 700 we can buy max 1.55BTC which is around 50% less, buying bitcoin is good for now as we expect an increase at the end of 2016
1422  Economy / Speculation / Re: 500$ This Dec ! on: January 09, 2016, 10:02:59 AM
Unfortunately for us bitcoin holders it did not reach 500$ in december. But I am really hoping that it reach that level before march. Meanwhile, lets buy/sell intraday and hold some for the big raise lol.

why unfortunately? i am very happy with the fact that we have reached a price of +$400 after staying under $250 for a very long time. the price has increased more than enough in 2015. this year the price will continue to go up.

I think 2015 is the best year for bitcoin. It is know by more people. Banks are starting to use blockchain technology.
Of course that 2015 was the best year because it is the last year,
But this year will be more interesting because of halving and we expect an increase of users using bitcoin.
Yeah, The halving will be very interesting to watch. Let's hope this halving goes as well as the last one.
The last one was not best because if we check the graph at the time of halving there was no change in price, the bitcoin value was affected after a while, but this time in 2016 i think that will be different Smiley
1423  Economy / Services / Re: THE MERKLE | Signature Campaign | Earn 0.04 BTC a week on: January 09, 2016, 09:56:56 AM
OP just received negative feedback from shorena because of this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1307879.0
Maybe OP should remove that article from TheMerkle website.
Can someone be given negative trust for his acts outside of this forum? thats ridiculous
Yes it is possible, last time that i remember was wangxinxi which leaked some emails (by putting the users not in bcc) and was marked as negative account by mitchell and then it was changed to neutral but that was just as a warning, same i think is with themerkle, i think that by removing that article shorena (maybe)will change it to neutral.

1425  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your plan to get rich with Bitcoin? on: January 09, 2016, 09:30:03 AM
Hey guys,

I just spoke to a guy over chat who told me his plan was to get 100 BTC, wait for the price to reach $5k per BTC and retire after that. Since he lives in a third world county, that might be possible for him. I know this is a simplification of the problem but I d like to know what s your plan. How many BTC is your goal, at what price and what happens once you reach that goal. After all, we have all been involved in a dream, why not dream it a bit more.  Grin
Half million dollars is not a small amount and he can maybe retire,
Everyone has his goal to have lots of btc but it depends how much we can afford to buy.
1426  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your predictions for 2016 on: January 09, 2016, 09:27:39 AM
I expect the bitcoin price to be around 600-700 by the end of the year.
Also more startups and more business will focus accepting bitcoin as a payment method.

1428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantages And Disadvantages According Bitcoin on: January 09, 2016, 09:17:56 AM
Disadvantages: the payment is not confirmed instantly, without paying any tx fee your tx will stuck for days.
Advantages: being accepted mostly everywhere, no chargeback(good for sellers)
1429  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: NEW TO MINING on: January 09, 2016, 09:16:03 AM
Dear All,

I am new to mining and would like to go for Antminer S7 Batch 8-what should be my computer's specification like Processor, RAM, MotherBoard, Operating System and mining software along with what is best mining pool should i join ?

I am from India.

Please suggest and guide accordingly

Thanks

If your current OS is windwos then you should not worry about it, about other things it is not important you can even have a very cheap computer to run your S7 but as Amph said a rasperry pi would do it job.
1430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why you mostly like bitcoin compare to other digital currency? on: January 09, 2016, 09:14:10 AM
I don't always compare bitcoin to other digital currency as bitcoin value is unstable.
Sometimes i compare to usd because it's more stable and i don't want to see after a time that another coin changed it value if i compared to bitcoin.
1431  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin better or paypal? on: January 07, 2016, 06:42:38 PM
Both are good, both are for online transaction, paypal has chargeback and bitcoin doesnt.
For some reason paypal is better (for buyer) and sometimes bitcoin is great i use both of them

But bitcoin and paypal are not same. Bitcoin is far better than paypal. If we use paypal it has huge amount transaction fees than bitcoin. If wanna compare paypal means We can compare with Western union. Transactions are open and transparent in bitcoin Not like transaction medium.

It depends because using sometimes the paypal it does not charge fees.
Sometimes it charge to the merchant side sometimes on both ways, but is good in this case because of small fees.

1433  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [Hands On] Ledger Nano Hardware Wallet - Notlist3d on: January 07, 2016, 08:38:09 AM
The Ledger Nano is still working very well.  I recently tried using it with android mobile phone and it is a nice feature for those who need access to it on the go.    A update to hands on is coming to show that.

There is a reason I save those posts under Smiley.  I do intend for it to be there in the near future.
If you loose the ledger nano and you don't have another one can you still backup the wallet?
Can you backup the wallet only with the 24 seeds in another client or mobile app? as PIN is used only with ledger

The good news if you lose it you can restore with seeds on another wallet here is official response: "In case of loss or theft of your Ledger Wallet, or at any time, you can restore your entire balance either on a new Ledger Wallet or on any BIP39 compatible software wallet such as Multibit HD or Mycelium."

So the pin is just used as extra security on the hardware wallet.  Those seed's should be stored very safely as it is the way to restore your holdings.

I read fast in their FAQ and was thinking why should i order 2 (1 active and 1 for backup)
Checked in Mycelium and they support restoring the wallet with 24 seeds from Ledger thanks for the helpful info.

Well this seems interesting as most(maybe all) users that have negative feedback are removed from DT
They aren't automatically removed, it is done manually by the person with the negative trusted user on their trust list.
For this user to be removed, Badbear must remove him from their trust list.
Who manges then the DT as i see that master-p is removed but his alt not?

theymos manages the user "DefaultTrust", those on level one (e.g. BadBear, escrow.ms, tomatocage and doog) manage those on level two.
Thanks shorena, you are really a live and updated "encyclopedia"  Cheesy Cheesy

Is only BadBear the one who has the access to edit the DT or and theymos

-snip-
I see it as:
Trust:    Huh: -2 / +9

A user can have negative trust and be trusted at the same time. The rating and whether someone is considered trusted are two different things.

IronMarvel is an alt of master-P according to Quickseller.

They are on BadBears trust list which puts them on Default Trust level 2. If you want to remove them from your personal trust list, go here

-> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust

and put them in your list with "~" in front of the name. This will explicitly make them untrusted no matter what anyone else in the network thinks.

Well this seems interesting as most(maybe all) users that have negative feedback are removed from DT
I have not modify my default trust list ever but it's not just me that i see red.
