2241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: March 07, 2015, 09:40:27 PM
I put some small buy-orders with 0.5 UNO each.
They are not fake so if you want necessarily to sell me, I am willing to buy them at those prices I have set.  Grin

Thank you for selling.
I put the next set of buy-orders.
It is nice to collect the coins with low price.

So is this gonna end exactly the same as always. Risto stops buying and price drops like a stone....
Xmr is 50% above 1 month ago and about 10% above last week.  Stone?

When we dropped from the ~0.005 area was when he said we would never see below 0.004 again went up a bit above that realised that it was going down, stopped buying then ensued the drop 80% to our lows around 0.001 and below. By all means buy it up and prove me wrong. I'd quite like that...
WHEN it falls like a stone then feel free to say so. Currently that is not the case.

What I said was phrased as a question. Speculating on whether he stops buying now which I think he has and we drop like a stone again.
Its called a speculation thread not a confirmation thread.

rpietila and his clients are certainly a buying (now) force in the xmr market, but why people like you keep suggesting he is the only one?

We need to preach the good news of Monero to the whole mankind.
If each of us can make 5-10 disciples and those disciples themselves are taught to make 5-10 more disciples (just like MLM), the adoption goes viral. The religion called Xiaty is spread like this and it is the biggest religion in the world.
We need to have a plan, and one idea could be to create cashflow assets ("mining rig" could be one of like this - everyone participates with Moneros buying mining shares which pays the dividends in Moneros). The mining fund also could be a business that collects some Moneros from the markets + some of the owners of the contracts might hold coins (or being forced to hold if the payout is for instance one a month etc).

That's the problem, there is a lack of buying other than Risto and his friends via him.
The adaption needs to go further... I think creating cashflow assets for Monero is something that attracts certain type of people who wish to quit working and have passive income.
That's one way there is a good chance to get at least some adaption. This could be marketed to ordinary investors from business forums.
This type of thing has absolutely huge potential, it might bring even 1 billion usd money into Monero.
2244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 07, 2015, 06:41:59 PM
Monero needs to find more buyers.
Otherwise after Risto's friends have their positions, there need to be more strong hands holding the coins.
Some kind of new adoption is needed, too.
Perhaps a few merry news on Coindesk will bring more people into Monerosphere.

wow, my payout now increased from 6k to 14 k

this look like GM on recovery...cmon Gm i know you can do it...lol

What payout are you talking about? I have not received any payout today. Usually by now the payouts should have been sent.

BCX on polo says 500 BTC will be poured in the next 24h hour. He said yesterday there will be 600 in the next 48hours. User "TomCruise" says a lot of things about btc being poured in xmr in the coming hours.

WTF do they know that we dont?

They know nothing.. Probably tricking you to give them buy support?

Actually, they know quite a bit, especially if said btc is coming directly from them. I'm sure they also know whether or not they're lying to you  Smiley

Obviously, you shouldn't put much weight into anything being said in a trollbox.

Obviously they can tell you if they are going to buy them. However if they are at least a little smart they wouldn't tell unless they do not count on the counter-effect: Everybody believes they have their own self-interest and therefore are not buying but selling instead it could give them a nice entrance price.  Smiley
2247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 07, 2015, 12:53:56 AM
I am not planning to sell even my trading position.

I on the other hand feel short-term bearish. The price had a good chance of reaching or breaking the previous top of 194, but the high so far is ominously 192 and both the price and the volume are in a decline. There is a good chance that this is a major intermediate top, and many traders will feel that the uptrend is in question and trade accordingly.

We must remember that the organic growth of interest towards Monero is exponential, with a very low starting value. The nature of exponential growth is such that in the beginning, the absolute numbers grow only slowly, but over time they become very large. It is therefore prudent to compare the speed of the uptrend to the possible actual growth of interest. Otherwise the uptrend will tip over as soon as the traders so decide.

This uptrend has been in force for 16 days, which is quite a bit longer than the Christmastime one, which lasted only 6 days. The position now is much stronger, with (so far) mainly the (so far) failure to take 194 when it was possible (only 5k XMR or so to 194 at its lowest, now 28k) being the alarm signal.

Many things can happen, the interest may renew quickly and buy up the asks in the 190-200 range. Or perhaps the traders smell blood and exit the speculative positions that the long uptrend has caused to pile up. Equally many are speculative "short", which may ease the decline. Sometimes the market also stays the same.

I am going to sleep and predict that we wake up in the low 160s. If that indeed happens, it means that a longer corrective phase lasting weeks and reaching as low as 134 is in the cards. Bears will call it the end of the uptrend, which I disagree with. Even if we make a higher high now, I would still be wary. It was clear that nobody wanted to step in the 194-land even when it was open. It takes a strong push from here to deep in the 200s to get to the next resistance zone above 290. My clients have the funds for doing it, but my feeling is that the coins will be able to be bought cheaper during the breather. As usual, I exhort to prove me wrong, this time by using the green button Smiley

I remain neutral.. I will not sell even the trading position (this might be a mistake once again). However I am not a buyer neither. It is kind of neutral zone, and anyway I have invested probably more than I should into XMR.
I really hope this will go much higher than 0.0029 at some point. And no, not because I am planning to dump. Dumping is not the way money is maximized. My selling strategy is to put small "walls" or fences I would rather say when the price approaches my target prices.
When XMR gets big (if it gets), there should be functioning OTC markets, too which will squeeze the dumps from guys who wish to have complete/partial exit. Thi screates the much needed liquidity to the markets at those days... However it is probably more current thing to be considered in 5-10 yrs from now though... These low exit points (like sub 100 usd public markets can handle I assume).

It is in uptrend when the price breaks resistance levels, as long as it has not broken any levels, it is still in bearish trend. Higher bottoms are not a sign of a bull trend. As long as the previous highs are not broken, it could be in best case a neutral/stabilizing but definetely not bullish.

When the inflation is low, the marketcap can go pretty much anywhere.
There is no even theoretical limit how high it can go. The marketcap can go higher than the marketcap of USD.

When emission is low, the highest the marketcap can go is solely determined by the bagholders.
Let's assume there is 1coin which I hold 99.99999%. I can drive this price basically to infinity - I just do not agree sell my coins but only a fraction of a fraction.

If you held that high a percentage of a currency i don't think anyone would want to invest in it.

I agree.

However it was a simplified example of my point. If the community thinks the coin is more valuable than the current price and as a community decides not to sell at any given price (at least any significiant amounts), the price indeed can go anywhere.

I hate also bullish talk since it makes people too excited and they over-position themselves and end up being the victims of pump. However, my scenario is very likely. At some point this could be more expensive than we can even imagine within the wildest dreams.

In the end this is a battle of how strong are the hands of the hodler.
The one who has the most strength will be the richest.

I hope Risto and others with contacts are able to find enough the strongest bagholders for Monero so that it could get to serious price range.

People talking about $10 and $100 XMR. Come on be reasonable. Don't be one of those people who gets manipulated into positions by hopium and bull dreams.

What shall we realistically aim for?

In my opinion I have pretty realistic view on Monero's price development. I gave it out on December so you can check this from my previous posts.

For those of you who are lazy, here is the recap of my predictions:

2015: 10 usd
2016: 100 usd
2017: 1000 usd
2018: 10 000 usd
2019: 100 000 usd
2020: Moon

Why to eat the cream while you can have a cake after the cake is finished?

Profit takers will be buying again later to get even more cake. Of course, it's possible that they'll never get a chance to buy cheaper (e.g. bitcoin profit takers who sold at $1).

Do not get me wrong, I am doing this also...
I have separate investment portfolio and trading portfolio.
Trading I am doing to get something to do which gives me also a little bit excitement. Investments I hold for long haul and am planning to sell if I need to purchase something bigger assuming the price goes as I wish.
Trading however is the gambling side of me and I am controlling it not to trade too much. If Monero goes viral, there are pretty high chance that at some point it is impossible to get Moneros even sub 100 usd levels and if my trading position is in other currencies, I have lost the opportunity cost of having the appreciating Moneros.

There is a wall of 200 btc wall at 0.00194....

Aaaaand... it's gone.

Instead, there is 200 btc buy support above the yesterday's low  Grin

It is divived into two pieaces.
The first one is at 192'ish and the rest is on 194.
This might be for real since it has been broken into pieces. Manipulative walls are in one piece, real walls are cut into pieces.

Why wouldn't it be real? As Risto has pointed out, there are accumulation zones. People have been accumulating at 90-190 for months. And supporting the price in the process. And now if the market wants to go higher, they need to pay the toll. After 194, the price will probably rip upwards (with big crashes and corrections to follow).

Then, when all the .004-average accumulators have a solid profit, there will be yet another toll. After .005, the price can truly rip because there will be little resistance. Greed and FOMO can send the price anywhere at that point.

I said: It is most likely real since it is divided into two different walls so that it looks less manipulative.
I have no plans to sell any coins even if it hits 0.01. Perhaps try to trade but my investment portfolio is here for long term (or high price). I am able to waite with them years, not weeks or months. I want a good price from my investment portfolio. Why to eat the cream while you can have a cake after the cake is finished?

Monero needs a fiat exchange...

I agree, and an exchange that is solely dedicated to trade xmr and fiat, not just another pairing in one of the alt exchanges.

I don't think it would bring too much people to the site having just one coin in the list :-(

how many people come to bitstamp? In alt exchanges the vast majority of coins are shitcoins that has no interest.

Well that is true, but in my opinion it would bring more visitors to the site having more coins to trade rather than just one. That's just an opinion : )

That would be a huge thing for XMR. Not many alts have an exchange like that solely focusing on one coin. Bitcoin has at least bitstamp + some other ones.

The daily shows a nice hammer

Sorry to brag.

It's only that every down-day proves me wrong in the minds of some trolls, and every up-day is so quiet, so might as well quote myself here  Cheesy

obviously the trolls have a mission and their own personal interest. When the trolls are bashing it means they want to buy low.

Talking of yourself two days ago?

Yes I bought in the dip.
