10861  Other / Meta / Re: Fake Quotes on: October 18, 2015, 08:20:50 AM
A fake quote? Is it like:
Quote
Bitcoin is generating 10000 BTC per block.
Or:
Is it ok for members on this forum to post a true quote ?
(Note the bolded 'true' in the quote - I have modified it)

If it is the first type, it is hard to tell if it is fake without basic research (however everyone here should know a BTC block is 25 BTC not 10000).
If it is the second type, as the quote have a link to the post quoted, we can see if the quote is correct. We could report them to mods, however they are not likely to be moderated (as mods won't remove scam). If you think someone will be editing the post after you quote, use archive services like https://archive.org to save the page.
10862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the commercial banks must hate bitcoin? on: October 16, 2015, 01:05:49 PM
I think that banks refuse bitcoin because they can't collect fees on it  Grin One of bitcoin's advantage is it have zero/low fees, while most credit cards are charging few percent of fees (by bank). They would lost the huge income on fees, so that's why they hate it. They are greedy Grin
10863  Other / Meta / Re: Satoshi Discussions on: October 15, 2015, 02:22:49 PM
I have just checked the results, and the proposal 3 is leading for just 1 vote. I'll keep the voting open for a week from now.
Sometimes the Satoshi discussions are related with BTC.

For example, if it is discovered that Satoshi is and NSA agent or a criminal or Neil deGrasse Tyson of course BTC would be affected.

So I think it is not a good idea put all Satoshi threads in off topic as a rule
And that's why a board for 'satoshi discussion' is needed. Looking forward for it (but I definitely think signature campaigns won't pay for that board Grin).
10864  Other / Meta / Re: Satoshi Discussions on: October 13, 2015, 01:05:41 PM
I have added others in the voting option.
Thought question, is the person that made bitcoin possible off topic to bitcoin? Probably, because these threads are not about the work, but the person itself.

I dont think there are enough thread to create a special section though, but considering the number of Mt.Gox threads I wondered whether a bitcoin history board might be in order. Sastoshi Threads would fit in there as well as Mt.Gox threads, but I am not sure whether those topics are discussed enough for a new subboard.

I agree in this. I myself has my interest in the history of bitcoin. If there would be a sub section for it then it will be helpfull. Also the satoshi thread is where I also vote to move all the topics related to satoshi if there will be any such.
You signature spammer are agreeing something you disagree! Shorena disagreed on creating a new board about satoshi while you agree. Please read it more carefully before you spam.
4- move all of them to archival & an admin make a unique post about satoshi (bitcoin discussion ?) telling what they know about him until now.
After that all new topics related to satoshi should get removed.
Why they needed to move to archival? That board are for old stuffs, however questions on satoshi arises everyday. That's why I think there is a need for consolidating all threads about satoshi to avoid duplicate threads asking the same thing.
10865  Other / Meta / Satoshi Discussions on: October 12, 2015, 10:50:40 AM
Lately I've seen plenty of threads about Satoshi, some are in 'Bitcoin Discussion' board,  some are in 'Beginners and Help' board, and some are in 'Off-topic' board. Those threads bin Beginners board asking who satoshi is are fine, however some of the threads in 'Bitcoin discussion' board went off-topic.
Also as the threads are spread in different boards (I've even seen a thread about satoshi in altcoin boards), people may found it difficult when doing research on satoshi.
So I'll make 3 proposals here. Please vote or express what you think about this.
1. Add a 'Satoshi Discussion' board as a child board of Bitcoin Discussion/Off-topic/Beginners and Help
2. Move all of them to off-topic/Bitcoin Discussion
3. Keep them as what they are now
10866  Other / Meta / Re: Why is Theymos Admin and Not Satoshi? on: October 10, 2015, 01:18:48 PM
It is said that satoshi have started the forum, and before he gone he gave the admin status to theymos. Then theymos gave BadBear the admin status later. So that's why theymos is admin but satoshi not.
10867  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I get my coins back on their way? on: October 10, 2015, 01:08:00 PM
Can you post your txid here? I think it could be the 'double spend' attack makes your right tx don't got confirmed (like my signature payout, and they need to send me another tx).
If your coins showing up again, try to send them again.
10868  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should I delete my positive trust given to scammers? on: October 08, 2015, 02:20:04 PM
So as the title. I have left some positive trust ratings to proven scammers, before they started to scamming people. I then left neutral trust ratings once I found them starting to scam people.

Should I delete both the positive and neutral rating and change it to a neutral/negative one, or just let them be? Please give some advice.

If someone has started scamming people, I would remove the positive trust right away, as it reflects poorly on you.

Neutral trust is different, it doesn't really affect their score.
Thanks for your suggestion, I'll delete my 2 old feedbacks given to scammers.

I finally decided to donate the 0.001802 BTC to the address shown on the donate page of the forum.

10871  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] OPEN SPOTS Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: October 06, 2015, 01:34:54 PM
Still no updates for the delayed payments? Almost 48 hours. Sad
For mine it is 60 hours Sad However there is a tx shown up in my page, the only difference is that the tx is a double spend Sad
10872  Economy / Services / Re: Redesign of my avatar - Competition (Ended) on: October 06, 2015, 01:33:19 PM
sound interest, but i think its too late to join this contest..
Well, the contest is over now... Maybe I'll open another one a year later (but it is not guaranteed).

Also the prize and tips of participant #16 have been paid: https://blockchain.info/tx/fc77c17885878ab5b575a530f55274bcd57fb23b1feb4f49eea5ad70a418405b

Users of #8 and #9 have given up their prize and tips, totalling 0.001802 BTC. I'll donate them to charity or the forum. However I want the decision be more objective, I'd like to ask community members to decide.
10873  Economy / Services / Re: Redesign of my avatar - Competition (Ended) on: October 05, 2015, 10:48:43 AM
The avatar looks great in your profile, about the payment of signature campaign i think that it will be solved too.
Would that amount be included here (divided for all participants) or that was all. Smiley
Well, 0.002 of 0.01 there was already included (and paid out from my existing coin). I am almost ran out of coins (I have only 0.012 BTC left in my another wallet Sad) so that's why I really need those BTC Sad
10874  Economy / Services / Re: Redesign of my avatar - Competition (Ended) on: October 05, 2015, 08:50:18 AM
You should change the avatar now or you forgot hehe Tongue
All designs was good, i was also impressed from some.
It was good to be part of this competition, congratz to the winner.
I really forgot it because I was so busy and got exhausted during the weekend (plus bit-x isn't paying my signature funds), and that's why I take 3 days to review the entries. I'll download the avatars and change them now (I finally have time now Smiley).

Edit: I'm contacting owners of entry #8 and #16 for their address. For #9, as he said he don't need the coins, I may donate them to bitcoin-accepting charities, or simply the forum.
10875  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] OPEN SPOTS Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: October 05, 2015, 08:46:43 AM
I see I have received the signature payout last week: https://blockchain.info/tx/dff8e50ca0298676e3411b2bcf859510fb4e51682efd55b25921087b913c08b7

However its previous output is a double spend: https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/e365e9ca0a7df19fcf3b80ff9f10e9e240b1fef7fa0bea911e287d7eb621963c!!!!!

This means, my signature payout is not valid and I cannot use it!!!!!

Please fix it (send me a new tx) or I will start an accusation.
Well my issue isn't dealt and I still don't got my payment! Please send them to me ASAP or I will really start an accusation!!!
10876  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Double spent on my address on: October 04, 2015, 07:37:48 AM
I have just spent a transaction and this occurred to me too. After sending the transaction, I saw two transaction, having the same send time, amount and address. The client got confused and deducted my balance twice. The reason being that there is a ongoing transaction malleability attack by various nodes. They change the TXID but the contents of the transaction remain the same. Blockchain.info got confused and recorded it as a double spend. Only one of the TXID will be included in the block.

Edit: Ah shorena beat me to it! Smiley
Am my signature payout affected by this? It is also a double spend. (My post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=877765.msg12596174#msg12596174)

If yes, then I can confirm it is scam, and I will start an accustaion.

10879  Economy / Services / Re: Redesign of my avatar - Competition (Ended) on: October 03, 2015, 12:54:55 PM
Just calculated the marks (with biased marking, due to my own preferences, and I am finding an avatar for myself), and the trending design is entry #2. I'll re-calculate the marks when I'm available again (I'm quite busy on my work at the moment), and announce the results(1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th-13th) and the tips going to be sent officially within 24 hours from this post.
