It was 6 years ago this month that Satoshi Nakomoto planted a seed, the first block of a technology that would grow to change the way that millions think about banking and commerce. "Culture Cultivation" is an artistic representation of how one mans seed, "bitcoin" as we know it, has grown over the past 6 years into something that has forever changed the world and will continue to grow like a well tended fertile garden.

"Culture Cultivation" is carved from the highest grade Purpleheart wood a person can ever get their hands on. This high grade Purpleheart only comes from the top 3 or 4 feet of trees that exceed 160 foot tall and contains the highest resin concentration of Purpleheart wood which leads it to turning the deepest "crown royal" purple color you will ever find.

When freshly cut the heartwood of Purpleheart is a  dull grayish/purplish brown. Upon exposure the wood becomes a deeper eggplant purple. With further age and exposure to UV light, the wood becomes a dark brown with a hint of purple. The high grade Purpleheart that this piece is made of has a super high resin content that leaves it more purple than others after aging. This piece was freshly cut and worked by hand so it still has 5-10 years to fully age to its darkest color but will start to show its deep royal purples within the next week or two.

The wood this piece is carved from is worth more than the 2BTC opening bid !!!

Guys, let it go, he was just stressing his need for someone to be serious about this offer, which is understandable given his exclusivity, I would probably do the same if I had that past.  I have seen his work and it is beautiful, and would commission a piece myself if I thought I could afford it. lol.  So let the art speak for itself and give the guy a break about his posts.

Thanks Debit,

i appreciate the kind words about my art.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that were past the antics and rhetoric with my post, i am happy to say i have found my team of guys and will be moving forward. Thanks to all who messaged me inquiring about the job/job's.

Closing the thread before it turns into 20 pages of peoples opinions of my methodology.

I guess I could get an article made and get it distributed. The results vary, but I know it is read by thousands. Pm me if you're willing to work with me and give me all the information needed for a press release. Definitely mentioning bitcoin would already stir up something.

PM sent good sir

It was going all well untill your decided to end this with a threat.

I am sure in our own way we are all possible to rain down "HELL" on somebody.
Fortunately enough i dont have to call somebody Wink

There are minors on this forum who are actively participating in this community.

Is this the example you want to set for them.

I suggest removing the last part and good luck with your venture.

Regards

Duke

You know, i though long and hard about your comment. Especially as you mentioned minors. And after a lot of careful consideration, the answer is yes, it is the example that should be set for them. Too many times people, minors included jump in blindly and put trust where it should not be. Especially in a situation like mine where i am targeting the services of one time shady characters directly, they need to be made aware up front that there is a strong possibility of recourse if they think they are going to turn me into their next victim when i am offering them a legitimate way to put their skills to use.

I truly do respect your opinion Duke, and i did think long and hard about it, but in the end, what i wrote is a "warning" not a threat. You dont get mad at your toaster oven because it says "can cause burns" on the bottom as if it were threatening to burn you, and i dont feel that i am in the wrong for warning "hell will rain down if you try to make me a victim" when working withing a select group of people who have already made victims out of thousands of people.

Again, i appreciate your opinion, and thank you for voicing it. It probably was something that needed a second consideration, but in the end, i am going to stand behind my decision.

Forget minors people who threat to use their power to do whatever they want will even piss off a 90 year old war vet.

Again, its not a threat, its a warning, please read the above.

WINNER = protokol

Raffle is now closed, Congrats Protokol  Grin
How did you determine the winner fairly?

www.random.org
In future, you should make a hash and show it here or something picking a number or providing some way that is provably fair. Unless you did this via a live stream that others were around, you could have used random.org multiple times or never have and just said protokol was the winner.

Protokol could've said I'll pay you 1 BTC to pick me as the winner, how would we know? I'm not saying you didn't conduct it fairly, but with all the things that go on around here if I was entered in this contest I would want the drawing to be conducted fairly and proven to me.

Look at my trust, you think if I was drawn by a member here they would want me to be the winner? Nope so just click random again and I don't win. Lot of people don't like me lot of people have favorites etc. Need to establish a provably fair method of drawing and stream that or prove verifiability.

Recorded with frapps. I will upload the video to youtube if MGGB requests it. I was informed of this before i even decided to have the raffle. The date and timestamp are on the video.

you should be banned for posting drug paraphernalia

You should be educated on what constitutes drug paraphernalia. A water pipe is a tobacco smoking device for people who like their smoke to be water filtered.

Just an update. There is only 1 coin left to be made for the 2015 wooden coin collection. #1-#4 are completed and already shipped out. #5-#8 are being made now. #10 is a surprise coin which i have designed myself to finish the collection. which means the only one left available is #9. If someone does not contact me within the next week for a custom design for it, i will be doing the design myself and placing it for sale in the goods threads.

All commissions are first come first serve so the first person to contact me for coin #9 gets it.
217  Other / Off-topic / Midphase Hosting ???? on: January 02, 2015, 11:14:51 PM
Has anybody here ever heard of or used a company called Midphase Hosting? I see a lot of bitcoin related sites hosted with them but am not 100% for sure if they are the host i want to use. I do not like Hostgator or GoDaddy as they are too large to care about the little guy with his $150 a year hosting plan.

If you have any other companies you could recommend that would be great.
218  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Exotic woods from around the world with Bitcoin on: January 02, 2015, 10:51:10 PM
would you buy really old wood? my parents have a 200 yearold table which they get from their parents and they want to sell it

95% of the wood i buy ends up being turned on a lathe. Tables are usually not much more than 1" to 1 1/2" thick and by the time i were to plane it down to remove all the finish and get to the core wood which is still usable there is usually nothing left.

I buy cants, turning blanks,  live edge and whole logs. I really dont have much use for old furniture for recycling unless it is made out of something extremely rare like an African Blackwood piano that is scrap or a pink ivory chair or something along those lines.

Thanks for the offer though, it was nice that you were thinking of me when they mentioned it.
219  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Exotic woods from around the world with Bitcoin on: January 02, 2015, 10:00:10 PM
Would you buy Koa and mangowood slabs or is it all logs?

Sorry i'm not exactly a Wood expert heh.

What is your price again as well?

Regular or curly?

Yes i would buy Cants or "slabs" as you called them if they were curly or flamed. I already have a good supplier in Hawaii for regular Koa and a fair amount of Mangowood.

Pricing on figured wood always varies by the amount of figure and the grade. If you can get large quantities (shipping container loads) i will fly out to meet you to inspect and grade the wood then give you a price and BTC payment in person. If you are talking smaller quantities i will buy on a Cant by Cant basis and will need a photo of each Cant to grade it and give you a price.
