Wow that looks incredible. I wonder if these will be a good investment like the Cassicius coins? I imagine these will be a lot harder to counterfeit  Cheesy. Are you numbering them at all?

The come with a certificate of authenticity which uses Bitcoin technology to ensure they cannot be counterfeit. Each CoA bears a bitcoin address on the front and is accompanied by the private key for that address on the reverse. Also every coin sold thus far has had an address carved in the reverse side of the coin. The chances of someone being able to forge my work are also very limited in the coin itself as every coin has a very different and unique "hidden mark" that not even the owners of the coin know about unless they are going over the coin with a 10x magnifier glass and a few more tricks i am not revealing they will never find. Not to mention there is an archived photo of every art piece i make, and unlike metal, wood has grain, and the chances of finding two pieces of wood with the exact same grain patterns is worse than your chances of brute forcing a bitcoin address.

At a gallery event i went to in 2007, one of the worlds top Dendrologists who was speaking said the odds were 2^1024 over a 100,000 year period. So needless to say even if the CoA could be forged the art piece could never be.

As for an investment, I am an artist not a financial adviser so i would not be the one to speculate on that. Although i can tell you that in 20 years i have never had a client let go of anything they have bought from me for any less than 2x the money they invested in the piece to begin with. I do not know if that will hold true with the bitcoin art i have been doing, but its a reference point to say the least. To be honest, i do not think that anyone who has bought my bitcoin art will ever be selling it, i actually had one client from here tell me he was adding the art piece to his living will that it is to be buried with him when he dies. With its $19,000usd i would probably want to be buried with it too  Grin

This is awesome! Do you plan on making small standard coins?

Very doubtful. I am only making 10 Coins for the 2015 year and have 4 finished and sold, and 3 more i am currently working on that were commissioned by forum members which means there is only 3 left to be commissioned and there will be no more this year.

1.5 BTC available today

Not trying to pry into your business, but i am ALWAYS buying BTC for vanilla. Are you one of those who thinks everyone should pay a premium to do business with you? or do you use actual market value like bitstamp or preev? If you use actual market value, i can and will buy any and every BTC you ever have up to millions of dollars if needed with vanilla within 24 hours of notification that you have some to sell.

1.5 million USD worth of BTC? Do you make a lot of money from wooden art? I am big fan, your art is very beautiful.

I have been a Master Artisan wood carver for 8 years now. 20+ total years carving, and turning wood. Outside the Bitcoin community i deal with a very limited but very wealthy clientele creating some of the most unique pieces ever to be made on the planet. It has paid very well over the years but i do not make art for the money, or i would be charging about double or triple what i have been for the Bitcoin art i have done instead of practically giving it away for the cost of wood and materials, i make art for the love of creation, to take something that is nothing and transform it into beauty which speaks to people on many levels.

I have actually bought about $1.7Million usd worth of bitcoin since i started, only $1.5m through coinbase. It is only for wood purchases and is normally sent to someone from this forum somewhere in the world who has access to wood for me within a few hours of me getting it, its not like i am hoarding it. I dont treat Bitcoin like an investment. It is strictly a great utility that solves about 100 problems i have had conducting business in the past. Even if bitcoin fell to $1.00usd i still have a use for it, and wont lose any money in the process.

That's fine with me, I just need in the next 24 hrs.

Can do for sure Max, i will message you as soon as i have it in my hands. Thanks for your patience.  Grin

I don't smoke much anymore, but that piece is properly beautiful, so I'll try my luck. Ticket #9 please!

My wife is heading back towards home from about an hour away and is going to stop at walmart on her way home and grab them for me. I will message you when i get them in hand. If you need to run, i can hang on to them until morning for you its not a problem. Sorry for the delay, things have been crazy this holiday season. Things normally go much smoother than this and i normally have a lot of cards on hand.

Thanks guys. I have made a decision. Although not from the names given it was a name given by a member who gave me the idea, so I am giving the bounty to the name that gave me the inspiration when I get home on Saturday. That member will be getting a message from me soon.

So your bounty is closed?

Yes the bounty is closed and the winner was paid as of 5 minutes ago
