21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 🔥 Project Pixel 🔥 - 🔥Blockchain Gaming Platform🔥 - PoW - CN Turtle v2 on: August 20, 2019, 02:16:18 PM
Came back to look at the progress and saw this in my terminal "Your Pixel node is syncing with the network (48.73% complete) You are 2692 blocks (0 days) behind the current peer you're connected to. Welcome to our 8-bit Dreamland!"

Not sure how I'm more blocks behind than the block explorer says have been mined.

I scrolled up a bit and found that it went from "New Top Block Detected: 1608" to "New Top Block Detected: 5251" in 38 seconds.

I'm also noticing the pool that I am connected to has been removed from the OP but without any information. Though, that shouldn't affect my wallet.

I should add, this only seems to be affecting pixeld. Pixelwallet shows correct height and says I'm synced.

So what's the first step? Getting yobit wallet working?

I don't know, seems like the chain is stuck now anyway. Stuck on block 1063430. Edit: Correction, not stuck, was just slow.

I figure, if anything is actually going to happen, then the dev will update the wallet and expect Yobit to actually update their wallet, which they won't, so it'll be pointless. lol

Yes. I´m  back.

Finally synchonized wallet today.

CRX is at block 1 052 822
Current supply 75 534 312 CRX

Today I created new crx node. It is syncing. (it will take around 48 hours)
Once node will be fully synced I will add this node into crx code at github. (Already added few active public nodes at github code today)

Also when daemon will be synced.  I will start to look for new blockexplorer + will post new wallets + create new website)

First important step is unification of the network. Means: New hardcoded active node, new wallets, new Blockexplorer, crx website, updated exchanges (cryptopia, Yobit)

Oh yeah... So, you're back? Or you bought this account.

I wonder.
Hi, Perryl. I remember you. Still in crypto?
It´s  really me. You can give me any question ,what could only be answered by the old crx dev.
btw i still have acces to everywhere btctalk, gmail, github.....

Well, the most obvious question... what happened to you? One day the site was working fine, price was climbing nicely, next day the price was down and you disappeared.

I'm definitely still in crypto. Never left.
We are in crypto. Things rarely look the way they are.
There were around 30 auctions and only like 1-2 ended in profit (for site).
From begining penny auction as a system was working fine. But it was wordpress based. When more traffic arrived, the site started to lag and throwing bugs that needed to be repaired.
At this point some users noticed they can use DDoS to win auctions easier.  It started with second 0.2 BTC auction. (I was not even able to login as admin for like 24 hours)
It is true price was climbing, but I was in terrible loss. (Even though the site was wp based, I spent a lot of thousands of dollars on development)

At final point i realized there are 3 critical areas at penny auction project.

First : insufficient software.
Second : lack of finance to run until the project is profitable.
Third : even when traffic was growing, the site would need 5-10 times more traffic to be profitable...

Now I´m here to repair the network. Crx network must be unified.
Whole Chronos network grew enough even without me. Coin is listed at 2 huge crypto markets.
First we'll all get to one chain. Once it's done. I will release new pennyauction project. This time focused on long-term operation + less valuable prizes auctions.

New Chronos node is synced and running. I will add this node at github.
Then I will re-compile new wallets. Linux will be ready today. Windows in next days (need to build compiling enviroment first) .

Alright, well, I agree that you sound like the original developer and I do understand about the problems with infrastructure for running any type of website.

It's good that you're back, maybe we can see CRX grow again.

I really like this idea and I hope you can make it work this time.

That's awesome . You come back again, Dev and I hope you are an old dev . I joined this project more 2 year ago and now I still hold my CRX coins for staking . Dev should have some new plans for developing crx . Bravo, you come back with us.

Hi Tom, good to see you.

Do not install this to Chrome browser. It's fake. Always check if the extension has many reviews before installing. It might steal your Ethereum private keys. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/metamask/ajhghapnjiaimhegcipdpehnihdkljdj?utm_source=chrome-ntp-icon

Too bad, this exchange was looking good with their staking features and regular airdrops and whatnot.

I had a bunch of stuff there but whatever. I'm not mad. My own fault for leaving coins on an exchange.

Everyone has been telling everyone for a good 5 years not to leave their coins on an exchange, if you do it, it's your own damn fault when you lose them. Don't cry, learn from it.

is there an active pool to mine it ?

Last PoW block was 20k. We're at 280k+, so, no. No pools. Just PoS now.

Good PoS, though.

Still unable to connect.

Didn't even need nodes before, not sure what changed. I'm using 1.1 too.

34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What's the best GPU for me to buy? on: January 31, 2018, 11:37:11 AM
the profits are falling down, so I'm sure the price for card will begin to fall as well, because of that
soon more card will flood the market at attractive prices and then you can easily pick what you want
in terms of some varieties -it's better to choose nvidia, you will have more coins to choice for mining

I prefer Nvidea. I don't really know why... I guess I just like baller things. lol.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What's the best GPU for me to buy? on: January 31, 2018, 11:36:00 AM
I personally like the RX570/580 cards.  Last month I was buying them for 300-330 each, hard to catch in stock but possible.  I average 29mh/s for Eth while dual mining and about 125w per card.  I wouldn't put more than 2 cards in a standard desktop unless you're using PCIE risers and have the cards mounted external to the case (ugly, but possible).

I don't have experience with the nvidia cards, imo they normally seem more expensive initial investment.  AMD cards seem to hash better on Ethereum compared to equivalent performance nvidia cards (Ethereum is what I want to mine).  Nvidia cards do better on other coins, I believe Equihash algo, than the AMD cards.

I ran 2 cards in my desktop while I was waiting on my server power supply to arrive from China for my dedicated rig.  It's possible, but I'm much happier not mining on my main computer.  When I want to play a game, i don't have to make sure to turn my primary card off mining first, etc.  Sometimes I would accidentally overstress something and my computer would crash.  Dedicated mining rig stays up all the time and keeps me warm in the winter  Grin

Totally agree with you, especially if you plan closing the case, it will get hot in there very quickly, requiring faster fan speeds which leads to higher power consumption and noise.

Wish I got into all this mining a bit earlier, still bought my 1060 at a reasonable price compared to now, but still way too expensive.

I thought about 1050tis, they're good, but you will need more mainboards and so on, so not sure if it's really worth it and the 4gb may be too low by the end of 2018, nobody will buy them, so resale value is not high either.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I do agree that 2 GPUs is probably the limit for my main PC. I don't actually PC game, I console game, so the GPUs are purely for mining. I won't resell them either, I'm just going to pop my 1050ti into my daughter's computer and leave it mining too. lol. I'll mine with them until they burn out. Maybe eventually transfer them to a proper rig setup if I go that route.

I bought the 1050ti a year ago because that's all I could really afford at the time. Things changed pretty quickly as the Bitcoin price rose. I do wish I had put more money and effort into mining and pretty much everything. Shit, at this point I wish I had spent more time claiming from faucets, even. lol
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What's the best GPU for me to buy? on: January 31, 2018, 11:29:03 AM
I was interested in mining with the titan xp's, do they stand up well to mining and are they worth it at this point to buy them?  I'm just trying to figure out my next move with cards and really considering a titan xp unless someone else can tell me why I shouldnt.

That's one of the reason's I started the thread. I could buy 1080ti, but they're already a year old or so and I figured something new was coming and the Titans are what's new.

I figure a Titan has gotta be better than a 1080ti and will depreciate less in the next year than a 1080ti would.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What's the best GPU for me to buy? on: January 30, 2018, 10:44:18 PM
Nvidia 10 series (GTX 1060 and up), AMD RX Series (RX 470 and up). Of course, you can do mining with lower spec cards too, but then you have to take the following into consideration:
E.g: RX 460 does up to 14 Mh/s on ETH, one BIOS modded RX 480 can do 30+ Mh/s. Let's say you want to mine ETH at around 150 Mh/s - you can buy 5 RX 480s or around 10 RX 460s to get this result. Usually, more GPUs on a MOBO causes more problems with your rig -> more downtime -> lost money.
Also, more GPUs take UP more room.
 Smiley

Definitely. This is not for a rig, this is for a general use PC that is on 24/7 already for other reasons and since it is on should be making me some money.

I don't think this tower could support any more than 3 GPUs and I'm not even sure it could handle that.

But does it even make sense to buy 2  - 3 1080ti? I read somewhere that the 1070 had the best ROI and of course people are shouting about the 1060 a lot too. Some of this is about availability... I guess I should have bought one a few months ago when I first thought of it. lol.

I just want to know which one has the most potential, technically, to hash the most. How I ROI from that is up to me.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What's the best GPU for me to buy? on: January 30, 2018, 10:39:39 PM
If you are fine to invest on huge amount you can choose the cards such as Rx 570 8 GB, Nividia 1070ti and Nividia 1080ti These cards are best in the market for example it may give upto 36 to 46 M/H for mining Ethereum.
You cannot find the same hash rate for all the coins. It differs the mining power for each coins. This may find the cheap hash power for other coin.
Average amount you can bear to start mining you can go with the Nvidia 1060 6GB or Rx 470 4 GB cards. I personally use these cards to mine the altcoins such as siacoin, Zec and ethereum. I am really conformable with this earning alone for my monthly expenses.

Yeah, but you just stated all my options like... I get that I have these options. I'm trying to determine which would be most effective.

Not making assumptions like drastic changes in pricing or anything. Totally understand that others might not think it's profitable to mine shitcoins, but I do it. I'm purely looking for technical feedback.

Which of those cards would be the most effective for ROI? Is 3 1060ti better than 2 1070ti? I need to find that balance of power supply vs cost for just a normal PC that is going to be running in the family room 24/7. Used for streaming, porn, streaming porn, and mining.

39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What's the best GPU for me to buy? on: January 30, 2018, 10:36:28 PM
I think your psu will not handle 2x gtx 1080ti, but i think it can handle 2x gtx1070ti.
And my guess this gpu will be your best bet. imho.

Thank you. That's a helpful start.

Would it make sense to upgrade my PSU to be able to support 2 1080ti?

Which manufacturer would you recommend? There are many different 1070ti. I am partial to the 3 fan look, but really am not that knowledgeable about parts overall.

Two 1080ti (Asus Strix 3 fans) consumes 600W (one is 300W) at max overload + rest of the PC (150W) = you need at least 850W PSU (recomended 1000W)

Two 1070ti (Palit SuperJet stream) consumes 360W (one si 180W) al max overload + rest of the PC (150W) = you need at least 650W PSU  (recomended 850W)

Corsair is always best choice, some series have 5, some 7 years warranty. I prefer RM1000x (i have them on all my rigs, some rigs with one and some with two)

So it sounds like my PSU probably wouldn't support 2 1070ti very well.

Thanks for your input.

Do I need to redownload the windows wallet?
I had my wallet open for about 24 hours.
It looks like it is synced
But is it synced to the wrong fork?
How do I tell?
How does a coin get forked wrong?

You will probably need to download a new wallet for Windows, it's still building last I read.

It's possible you're on the right chain. You should still backup your wallet.

You can tell if it's synced to the right fork by checking the block height... You just need to know the block height of the correct fork, I don't know that. I just got here.

I don't know how to explain how a chain forks. I get it, I just can't explain it. lol
