It's pretty obvious were organic and we will keep rising. Those who dumped form 60k down keep their buy walls at a range they want to accumulate giving them 15-30% more coins. Hold and keep your sdc if you want to see it rise faster Smiley

hmm… 30%?
u make dumping sound kinda cool… whether u meant 2 or not  Sad

It's just basic trading in general, I would do the same if had a stock increase in such value. Gotta make money somehow, cannot just baghold forever. It's risky trading though, veryyy risky trading.

sure

just sayin

one the one hand the message is hold
on the other the message is get 30% more by not holding

i dont like the ambiguity here

Yeah I agree with you guys.  Trading is good sometimes.  But I wouldn't recommend trying to trade your whole stack, because if the price moons one day you may be left behind.  But I think trading a small % of your stash is healthy.  It helps liquidity in the market, and it also reduces volatility.  I have noticed a few things on the exchanges especially on Poloniex and Cryptsy where volume is lower.  If you put a decent sell wall up slightly above market price, sometimes it brings in buyers.  Buyers need sell walls to buy into, or they just won't buy sometimes.  This helps to get SDC in more hands.  Then with the proceeds, just put up buy walls down cheaper and it supports the price and prevents a dump.

If volatility gets too high its not good for new investors, they get rattled easy.  Look what happened to poor Skip60. (By the way hope you will come back to the community Skip buddy).  So I think trading is healthy.  But yeah trading your whole stack in search of 30% gain is super risky when the coin is so cheap and undervalued at this time.

Interested in Shadow and want to try it out?  I am giving away 15 Shadows to any newbies who download the wallet and post a stealth address on shadowtalk: http://shadowtalk.org/topic/340/100-sdc-giveaway/

Please don't post addresses here on bitcointalk.

Otherwise Pline might get a 2 week ban  Angry

Good work Pline

Checked ur post.

Might be netter to ask 4 stealth addys if u want n00bs to check tech.
otehrwise they might be posting xchange addys + they wont get the anon aspect

Yeah DaDon originally started the thread, then I kept it going when he was away for a while.  Then he said he doesn't have much time now so he donated 500 SDC for me to keep it going.  He had originally been giving 5 SDC to regular addresses.  But I changed the rules to be 5 SDC for regular address, and 15 Shadow for stealth addy.

Not related, I used to be a huge Dash fan but dindn't feel like explaining myself to my ex Dash cryptobuddies when i left and sold w/e Dash I had left. After that I figured i'd just create a new account. Fresh start I guess, i'm loving the decentralized, open source community vibe in here already. It feels like the whole team is very capable but still open to suggestions, not very common.

All Shadow holders are equal and all have a say in the direction the project is heading. You are all invited to join Slack and discuss all ongoing projects. If you are a developer, you can use your powers to do good and contribute!

Yes, each individual is their own decentralized node in the ShadowProject network!

Hello everybody,

While most of Shadow's developers are busy doing what they do best, some of us have been working hard on a publicity strategy intended to create greater awareness of The Shadow Project.

As mentioned in rynomster's update, up until quite recently we haven't been as active as we could have been in keeping the community informed about development, or in publicizing the project outside the forums. One effect the recent Vice article had was to bring in a host of new users (including some developers) who'd like to learn more about - and to contribute to - the project. It's been inspiring to meet so many people who share our enthusiasm for the project's goals! The community is absolutely vital to Shadow and we wouldn't have achieved nearly so much without your help.

So with that in mind we're pleased to announce that today officially marks the start of a publicity campaign we have all been working very hard on.

Over the coming days we will:

   - Start a thunderclap campaign to create more awareness for Shadow.

   - Launch a new landing website for newcomers with the help of some community members.

   - Release a promotional video to help people better understand how Shadow works.

With this we hope to attract and inform even more people about Shadow, and to expand and strengthen the community and project further still. This will be far greater in scope than any previous efforts to publicize the project and in particular we're hoping to start reaching those in the more general public who might also be interested in what we're doing.

All Shadow holders are equal and all have a say in the direction the project is heading. You are all invited to join Slack and discuss all ongoing projects. If you are a developer, you can use your powers to do good and contribute!

This is great news, thanks for the update guys.  It will be nice to see thunderclap used to promote freedom, and something honorable rather than being used to promote government propaganda Smiley  I think the promotional video could also really be helpful for teaching newer people how Shadow works.  One problem with Shadow is its a little complex and very different from other coins.  It takes a while before people get that "ah ha" moment and realize how the SDC and SDT tokens work.

Looking forward to seeing that video, thanks guys and keep up the good work, it is much appreciated Smiley

what does it mean when it says shadow? and spendable on the top right corner? why do i only have 5 sdc to spend?

With ShadowCash there are two units of account.  One is SDC (call them ShadowCoins), the other is SDT (Shadow AKA Shadow Tokens).  The SDC is transparent and tracked on blockchain the same as Bitcoin.  But the SDT uses ring signatures and dual key stealth addresses for anonymity.  There are 4 options for sending.  You can send SDC>SDC, SDC>Shadow, Shadow>Shadow, or Shadow>SDC.  For the latter three it requires a stealth addy.  To make a stealth address go to receive tab and click new address, and tick the stealth address box.

To send your Shadows(SDT) to SDC, go to send tab, and choose the Shadow>SDC option.  Enter your stealth address and press send.  You will then effectively change your Shadows back to SDC once the transaction is confirmed on the network.
thats weird it wont let me send or change my sdt to sdc?

Make sure you account for a fee.  The fee to change SDT to SDC is much larger than normal transactions also.  Try converting a lesser amount than your full amount to see if it works.  If still not than you can click the button to suggest ring size, then try again.

Edit: Also make sure you are sending to a stealth addy
right??^ im trying to convert sct to sdc

Yes, its a bit counter-intuitive.  But you also need to use a stealth address for sending SDT to SDC.  The only one that does not need stealth address is SDC>SDC transfers.

If anybody wants to download the ShadowCore wallet to check out how awesome it is, there is a giveaway thread on shadowtalk where you can get a few Shadows/SDC to try out: http://shadowtalk.org/topic/340/100-sdc-giveaway/

Please don't post any addresses in this thread because giveaway threads are banned on bitcointalk.

If youre going to fud at least write something good.

This is just child talk we can do this with any coin out in the market.

What I care about is that SDC has a working anon, and it is backed by a team of Dev's who are known and deemed trustworthy.

You're right shitcoins aren't being pumped anymore, only the real ones are.

There aren't many left but there are still a few and Shadow is a powerhouse.

Iv'e been in the altcoin game long enough to see the difference. SDC is a pure winner and it has nothing to hide.

Of course you are protecting your investment by saying dumb shit you don't even believe in. I understand that...

But, can you please tell me who are the developers ? Their real names and credentials ? Thank you!

So much projecting, let me guess you hold XMR or DASH and can't handle competition. I have seen diarrhea coming from both camps but you guys need to give it a rest. It's amazing to see what a few satoshis will lower people to.

This is most likely the case.  Now that Shadow is rising and gaining mindshare, they are feeling threatened and trolls come out of the woodwork.

You do know that cloak never "happened" right?

Hello everybody,

It’s good to see you all so actively supporting Shadow and staying positive as we work towards the release of our decentralized market. As some of you may have noticed, we’ve been a bit quiet on these forums lately when it comes to actively reaching out to all of you with development updates. This doesn’t mean we’ve been sitting still though, because we have a fun week ahead of us. We'll come back to that later.

First of all we are very happy to announce that both Tecnovert and I will be working full-time on Shadow from now on! We're setting our main jobs aside for the upcoming months so that we can really focus on the job at hand. This will obviously result in quicker progress when it comes to releasing new features. Going forward we are also going to post a lot more in terms of development reports. Our team has been working with Shadow community members who are setting up a new website with a development blog to keep you all up to date. So expect regular updates from now on - this one being the first.

The weeks ahead of us are all about ShadowMarket so we are pleased to announce that we have started integrating it into Shadowcore’s back end. We're currently switching from scrypt to SHA-256 so that staking requires less cpu cycles, updating to PoS v2 to improve network stability and working on BIP32 and BIP44 support so that we can support hierarchical / tree categories for the market. Once we are finished with these enhancements, things should start moving significantly faster. We will be making radical changes to the Secure Messaging (ShadowChat), to support Pub/Sub messages, so that people could subscribe to certain categories for the market, where we will then move towards our first round of public alpha/beta testing. We’ve noticed there are lots of questions about how ShadowMarket will work so we have begun gathering them and will answer them in an overview later this week. So much about the upcoming Shadowmarket for now.

We are all still waiting for Isidor Zeuner’s review of our ShadowSend anonymity system in comparison to other anonymous cryptocurrencies. It is still ongoing and we are currently writing more documentation, which is currently our weakest point. We’ve been in contact with Isidor and are trying to give him a helping hand where needed. Please note that it’s quite a task seeing as he will not only study our system but also compare it to the alternatives out there.

As said earlier, we have a fun week ahead of us. We will try to give more specific details on that later this week.

Thank you all for your support!

Nice update.  Thanks ryno, tecno, and the whole Shadow team/community.  I feel really good about this project.  A lot of talent, hard work, and professionalism here compared to other coins.  I wonder what they mean by we have a fun week ahead, must be something good Smiley

whoops, I think I have it figured out, wallet is back where it should be, but I can't find the link to the giveaway, so, if any of you are feeling generous (drunk) here is my address for donations: SkWV7wpyM6k8kgVThabqADYpTwSz8L8JUG  Can't for the life of me find that give away site for some reason.  Thanks, and sorry for the stupid post up above there.  Something just wasn't synced right.  My bad.  Super excited about this project, just as excited as openbazaar.

Check out http://shadowtalk.org/  Wink

Edit:  You may want to be careful of cryptsy, their wallet kind of sucks.  Bittrex is the favored exchange, and poloniex has been pretty good, with volume increasing lately.

oh wow thats cool on vice will read more then prob invest!

You may want to check this deepdotweb article too: http://www.deepdotweb.com/2015/01/28/shadowcash-zero-knowledge-anonymity/

I think its more well written, and more in depth than the vice article.

I have a transaction that is sitting in my wallet still unconfirmed with a question mark that I sent to another wallet...what is the command to fix this again? This has happened to me before but very rare.

This happens to me now every time I send a transaction.  I have to restart wallet for it to update confirmations.  I think it may be because my wallet is massive with tons of transactions.  So I may clean it out and make a new wallet soon to see if that fixes it.  You could try restarting wallet.  If that doesn't work I think you can try "resendtx" or something.  Also you can try "repairwallet" or some other things if it still does not work.
340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | Ring Sigs | Decentralized MarketPlace (w) on: March 29, 2015, 08:30:27 PM

im assuming the shadowgo walets will be able to scan QR codes (and stealth addy QR codes) using the phone's camera. im also assuming mymonero cannot do this on a phone.

Yeah maybe.  I saw on IRC, ryno mentioned he was running into major performance issues when working on the android wallet.  It must not be an easy task.  Hope he is able to work it out soon.
