281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are the Green Days back ? on: April 19, 2018, 07:20:12 PM
It seems. that yes, market changed its trand.
As already almost a week we can see the positime movements of the maket.
And as it is seen from the chart, the third weekly candle is in green, what also show the positive dynamics.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency is a bubble? on: April 18, 2018, 09:06:35 PM
Hello Wink. I want to hear your opinion. Cryptocurrency is a bubble? How long will it last? Is it worth continuing to invest in it?
It is possible to say, that some investment mechanism is a bubble only if it does not have any basis.
Crypto is based on really powerfull technology - blockchain.
That is why, only becase of this fact, it is possible to say that it is not a bubble.

Update: Thursday, June 11 2015

It’s time for another development update to bring you up to speed with recent changes in the Shadow project. For the past weeks our development efforts were mostly focused on bip32 development, adding security improvements to ShadowCore and working on ShadowMarkets front-end. We expect some exciting development updates in the upcoming month. For now, let’s look at the changes implemented last month.

-Added new HTML address lookups and edit dialogues
-Added new HTML sign and verify dialogues
-Removed qt address, sign and verify dialogues
-Added preparations for gitian builds

Security Update

In light of the unfortunate incidents involving crypto malware hacks; going forward before we release any further Shadow updates we are implementing gitian builds into our releases so that we can distribute safe and secure executables to prevent any fake builds going out to the public for the purpose of malicious activity. We strongly advice you only download from official websites and if in doubt double check.

ShadowMarket Development

Due to the recent unfortunate malware hacks in the crypto community we decided the work we were doing on ShadowCore including the addition of hierarchical deterministic (HD) wallet required more time and resources to ensure that it was ready to support services such as “hardware wallet” in the future. This involved going back to the drawing board and redesigning the implementation. The good news is that once complete this will be the first native implementation of a hierarchical deterministic wallet within the satoshi forked codebase. In the mean time our developers are getting closer to finishing the front-end (html/css/js) of ShadowMarket and are building the best user-interface experience. Our goal is to finish the ShadowMarket front-end before the end of Q2 so that we can show you a sneak preview of how everything will work.

ShadowMarket Q&A and Roadmap

To answer some of your questions, we have answered a first round of questions that you asked us during the ShadowMarket Q&A last month. The answers can now be found on on the ShadowMarket section of our website. To summarize all progress and make things easier to understand we have created a very clear roadmap for ShadowMarket. As we progress we will actively update this roadmap so that everybody can follow exactly where we are in terms of progress.

Upcoming Releases

Our Android wallet (ShadowGo) is nearing a beta testing stage. QT5.5 beta just got released which, with its new qtwebengine will make everything much easier and faster to develop and get out onto the Android platform. The new version of ShadowGo will include the following new features:

-Latest HTML5 Interface
-Thin mode (lite wallet)
-Anonymous Chat
-Anonymous Transactions

That covers our development updates for this week. If you have any questions regarding recent or upcoming changes you can contact us via IRC, slack, shadowtalk or github.

The Shadow Team
Rynomster (lead developer)

Awesome update.  Your hard work is truly appreciated.  Keep up the good work Ryno, and team.

Lol, guys wtf, stop with this shitstorm stuff.  How do you think the devs feel reading this?  Everyone is caring about the price and just making money. For me that is a side issue. I am more interested in the technology than making money, although since I got into this project the price has about tripled.

Bottom line, this is one of the highest quality alt-coin projects out there.  The market is going to be a huge step for economic freedom.  The Zeuner thing sucks, but don't blame the Shadow team for that.  Blame Zeuner if anything.  I don't think they should really need to provide documentation when the code is open sourced.  Look at the cryptonote white paper, its very well done, but they wrote the white paper before the code was ever implemented in bytecoin.  For this project it was writing the code before the whitepaper, so I don't really agree that the team is at fault for not providing enough documentation.  I think there are more important places to put energy than documentation.  It is what it is, and frankly I am pretty impressed with what this team has delivered already.

Lets have some respect for these devs who put in a huge amount of time and energy into this project.  They are talented developers and this is the best anon-coin project out there.  This shitstorm stuff does not do anything to motivate the devs to work hard.  They will be much more likely to deliver if the community gives them the respect they deserve.  We should be donating to them and encouraging them, not this stuff which will probably make them want to quit. They are advancing the tech that allows for freedom, and privacy.  That is more valuable to me than any price of a SDC.

This Gregory Maxwell video is fascinating, talks a lot about anonymity, privacy, zero knowledge proofs, etc..: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pyVvq-vrrM

Shadow... the weird red headed kid that nobody likes.
The weird kid is always the one that surprises everyone in the end. People are just now realizing that btc core is the way to go and a pow/pos is the only way to keep things fair and low power consumption. This weird kid is going to rip shit up soon I think. Maybe I am wrong, but I don't think so. Time will tell Mr. Kok.

No. Take a look outside of this trashy forum, and you will see what REAL developments looks like. Only noobs get sucked into this shit. All the vets with 2 or more years IN THE CRYPTO-WORLD simply don't believe this grass root BS. It takes money to develop. Nobody is going to review because the truth is, nobody cares. I care, that's why I am trolling. How sad is that?

The code is open sourced.  It is being reviewed all the time.  Just because there is no formal review does not mean it has not been reviewed. Many people have checked it out. Also if there were major problems in it you can be sure someone would speak up about it.  The longer the code is out without any big problems coming to light, the stronger and more trusted it becomes.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | ShadowMarket* | PR Firm on: June 09, 2015, 08:54:34 PM
I don't know, I could be wrong, but I really don't expect the Zeuner review soon if ever.  I think it would be good to start searching for others that could be capable of peer review.  I donated only a small amount to the Zeuner review.  I would have donated more, but I knew this might happen.  I feel bad for people who donated larger amounts.

The market is a huge project, I am kind of expecting it to be a month or two late, but that is just my prediction, could be wrong.  I can understand its no easy task to complete and takes time. I still think this team is very talented and hard working.  They have proven themselves a lot by delivering some very high quality stuff already.  I think they will come through with the Market, but possibly not in time for the end of Q2.  If the market drops this month I would be pretty happy though.

I saw an interesting thread on reddit about Gregory Maxwell's "confidential transactions" released in the new Sidechains Elements release: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/394k1t/petertoddbtc_gregory_maxwells_confidental/

You can see an overview of it here: https://people.xiph.org/~greg/confidential_values.txt

I guess it works to mask values to help gain more privacy.  When combined with other systems like coinjoin it makes it much more private and anonymous.  I wonder if this could also be implemented in the Shadow Project at some point as well.

Interested in Shadow and want to learn how it works?  I am still giving away 10 Shadow (SDTs) to any newbies who want to try out the wallet and the anonymity provided by ShadowCash.  Just download the wallet, create a stealth address and post in the ShadowTalk thread here: http://shadowtalk.org/topic/387/shadow-giveaway-thread/17

Please do not post any addresses in the Bitcointalk thread, as giveaways are banned here.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | ShadowMarket* | update v1.3.2.4 on: May 19, 2015, 08:42:48 PM
This to me is the major flaw in crypto. The decentralised idea is great until it goes wrong like this. At least if your bank account gets compromised, you have a certain level of protection.
Imagine seeing your lifes savings dissapear like that?

There are solutions like hardware wallets that are becoming better every day.  Once Shadow Project upgrades to be HD compatible then SDC can probably be used with hardware wallets like Trezor also.  Soon we will have hardware wallets that you can stake with.  You don't always have protections with bank accounts either.  In the US, the IRS and other agencies can seize your money with no crime required.  Banks can have bail-ins like in Cyprus where they steal your money too. Its a young industry and anything FIAT can do, crypto can also do.  Once the infrastructure is more established then it will be easy to hold crypto in a bank if you wish, and there is no reason why you can't have insurance on your deposits.  I prefer to hold it myself however, because of the benefits and lack of the need to trust others that it provides.

PSA for anybody who didn't hear the news.  Poloniex will be requiring your identity before you can withdraw coins starting on May 20th, which is in about 24 hours.  Better get your coins off there ASAP if you don't want to be privacy raped.

What do u think?

Is it normal that dev team doesnt do any clarification-update about the review/market while all these discussions are going on???

It look like they dont care investors here, snoop

I am sure end of Q2,market wont be released.and investors will be begging here for an explanation or revised release day

Up to now, it was always the same. People here had to ask million times to get some info

You say to me, whatever you want now. But i will remind it to everyone when end of Q2 comes

There is a Shadow Blog, that was recently updated with a post by Rynomster the lead dev: http://shadowcommunityblog.tumblr.com/

They have made a lot of effort to communicate with the community.  They are aiming for Q2, but they did not promise anything.  Personally I wouldn't be surprised to see it go a few weeks past the end of Q2 before the release of ShadowMarket.  But I am sure you will find any excuse to complain Skip60.  You tried to manipulate the price downwards, and even caused a flash crash to 0.000425 the other day, and the price immediately bounced back to 0.0005. The only reason you dumped it was to try to save your damaged ego, then you came here to tell us how you dumped it to that low low price, and how you were so smart to predict it.  You predicted the price would be sub 40K this weekend and you were wrong.

There is a giant ShadowMarket Q&A to be released soon.  The community got to ask any questions it wished.  From the blog post May 11th:

Quote
As most of you probably know, last month we started a developer Q&A to provide an opportunity for non-developers, end users and community members to ask questions about the soon-to-be-released ShadowMarket directly to some of the developers responsible for writing the code. Now that the Q&A has ended we have gathered 30 unique questions through various communication channels like BitcoinTalk, ShadowTalk, Twitter, Slack and IRC. Today, we have forwarded all questions to the Shadow development team directly. They will try to answer all of your questions so they can share their vision on the first truly anonymous decentralized marketplace. We will soon post all comments and answers on our website and wiki page. Please keep in mind that ShadowMarket is still under development, so we may not be able to answer all of your questions just yet.

So your comments are completely false and misleading, and FUD.  If they do not come out with ShadowMarket until mid-July you will still claim victory, and point out how the strong man stumbled, while you sit on the sidelines doing jack shit.  They are in the arena, putting their blood, sweat, and tears into this project, and its a damn good project.  Just look what they have accomplished already.  To come here and be a naysayer and troll this thread non-stop is really dishonorable.
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | Market* | Thunderclap 1,3M+ on: May 15, 2015, 08:21:01 PM
soon we will see 43k sdc price, if it breaks 43k then we will be looking for new base

no volume, no newcomers/new bloods...

better core team updates the community and confirms that Q2 is still valid for marketplace, or they revise the date before it is end of Q2

if they need to revise the date, better they dont wait till end of Q2 to revise it

obvious troll is obvious

i will remind it to you when 43k comes

45k came, 43k price is not far, even lower we will see this weekend

Lol, only 2.5 BTC worth of Shadow for sale under 50K on trex.  I will pump it for you skippy.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | Market* | Thunderclap 1,3M+ on: May 12, 2015, 05:45:27 PM
We will have much more information on the marketplace when the ShadowMarket Q&A is released soon.  Seems like the devs are putting all of the building blocks in place.  The last release was pretty impressive, and shows they are working hard towards their goal.  Everything seems to be aligning nicely imo.
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | Market* | HARDFORK 6th MAY-> Please Update on: May 04, 2015, 11:00:09 PM
Trace Mayer gave ShadowCash another shoutout in a recent video May 1st, at the 31min mark: https://youtu.be/wmY-f1SX7aU?t=30m45s

Trace is a really smart guy and early Bitcoiner interested in anonymity.  He promoted Bitcoin as an investment since the price was about 5 cents to 25 cents per bitcoin.  He has invested in many Bitcoin businesses as well like Armory, BitPay, Kraken, SatoshiDice, and many others. He also has the websites runtogold.com and howtovanish.com

He was also mentioning homomorphic encryption, cryptonote, and indistinguishability obfuscation for more anonymous currencies.  I know Rynomster the lead SDC dev mentioned that homomorphic encryption was one of the things they were looking at for the future, as well as SNARKS.

For anyone interested, Trace was mentioning ShadowCash in another video a bit ago as well(18:40 mark): https://youtu.be/50_NfitNTkI?t=18m39s

He was mentioning ring signatures, zero knowledge proofs, SNARKS, and the ShadowCash whitepaper.  He says that ShadowCash is an example of where the libertarians may need to go as Bitcoin becomes more mainstream and regulated.  I think he is spot on with his analysis.

If anyone wants to check out some of his shows, he has the Bitcoin Knowledge podcast, it seems pretty good: http://www.bitcoin.kn/

Trace Mayer also did the initial write-up on ShadowCash for weusecoins.com
https://www.weusecoins.com/what-is-shadowcash/

I cleaned it up a bit: https://github.com/sunnankar/wuc-new/pull/31

Awesome, nice work!

Just be careful guys when ordering using the shapeshift/purse.io thing.  Personally I decide not to use such services because of situations like this: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2po40d/since_my_house_is_being_searched_right_now_small/

I feel people should just be aware of the risks, and be fully informed, then decide for yourself what to do.

i dont think ryno left sdc, but price really sucks

The price always sucks for you. When its up it sucks, when its down it sucks, when its sideways it sucks. Apparently everything sucks to you.

No one has left, no one has gone anywhere, just typical market behavior. If you don't want to be here sell and leave. No one forces you to hold your coins.

i bought @20k and sold between 40k-50k

then started to buy back around 45k but i feel like I am the onlyone who buys, not this time dude

i sold whatever i bought back, i am out be happy

no you sold at 14k, Don't you remebr your post about dumping and leaving shadow when you sold it down to 14k. Your the very thing you call out on others, a weak investor. Good riddence is what I say.

If you can't see the development going on then you must be blind.

i sold around 100k sdc till 14k price, that is true...but as u know very well that 100k wasnt all i had

and if i didnt sell that 100k , that pump till 90k wouldnt be...you know it very well

lets talk about the reality; yes there is some tech and development, but te price sucks for ages...why???

just tech or dev is not enough here at crypto world, accept it

so why crave and all other low tech dev coins  are way more valueable than sdc

note: why people cant read irc/ slack logs now???

According to coinmarketcap, crave has a market cap of about $222,000.  At current prices SDC has marketcap of $545,000.  Did you think because crave is worth 40 cent per coin, and SDC is worth 8 cents per coin then it means Crave is more valuable than SDC??? LOL.  Crave only has 530,000 coins, and SDC has 6.5 million coins.  Did you fail gradeschool math?  Anyways this is like the ultimate buy sign, whenever Skip60 tries to leave and spread FUD here. That is when you know price is at the bottom.  New trading strategy should be when skip cries and wants to leave time to buy.  When skip60 returns, it might be good time to take profits.  I think I may break out the cold storage bitcoin for this one Cheesy

Smart investors would take there money out of SDC

Crave will hit 1 dollar before summer ...that's a concervative estimate

Ha Ha Ha get real blazin604.  Big mistake to dump SDC for that shitcoin like you did.

I downloaded the client but it is not synchronizing since a couple of hours. Do I need to consider something on the first synchronization?

Did you try the bootstrap file for faster blockchain download?  Instructions here: http://shadowtalk.org/topic/308/bootstrap-instructions
