That is a link to the power supply that I bought on ebay.  it said that it could run 2 x16 cards so I thought it would be ok. Could the power supply be the problem?

YES.

Sorry but in all seriousness, don't skimp on PSUs, particularly when you want to put them under heavy load like bitcoin mining  Cheesy
1022  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Difficulty drop preceding BFL's ASIC release? on: July 11, 2012, 02:59:34 PM
I've been thinking about where mining's headed with the (potential) release of BFL ASICs and such.

There's one factor that I don't think has really been discussed: Namely, when will BFL ask for their FPGAs back for trade-ins?
They could potentially be taking back a substantial number of singles and mini-rigs, so if this precedes the full ASIC release, is it not possible that this could knock several percent off the difficulty whilst we wait for their ASICs to hit the market?

I am touched. Thank you!

bit-who? Where?

Bithopper, hopping proxy  Tongue

I assumed that's what we're doing here?

You know something's up with the share stats when I'm showing -23 rejected shares  Cheesy

do I get some kind of bonus for being the first miner ever to achieve a <0% reject rate? Those are some quality shares  Wink

Hope you saw the notes down around eu3...had to estimate... Hope hope all the payment add up to cover your troubles...   I left the old stats as a base line for tomorrow...   Also,  today was for only for 15 hours since i pulled them late last night...

Aaaah no didn't notice that - cheers  Smiley

lol

-23 rejected shares.................. LOL

We are obviously in a parallel universe...so that is actually good, i think...   Or he is building a anti-reject mining rig... Next generation mining hardware... :-P
Up next, my anti-reject ASIC. Shipping next wednesday*, very limited supply**, 1 Petahash/s***, powered off a USB port and doubles as a vibrator for the missus.
Only 5000BTC, non refundable, join the queue today!

*Or not.
**Because it doesn't exist yet
***In my mind.

Do you do financing?  Lay-away?

Fraid not, I just send you tiny but vaugely entertaining (for me) small BTC payments to say thankyou in a small way for your work on projectx  Cheesy

By the by, what's the server load like on this sort of project? (not that I'm entirely sure what you're doing with our shares anyway)
I used to run a bithopper on my VPS, but I never loaded that above ~8Ghash of mining contracts and it never seemed to struggle even on my fairly small CPU/RAM allocation...

you are not  alone.  I blew a circuit and was down for 20 mins...  I'll keep the same rate for today and see if they get flushed out...by me just mining every were with your address...6770, so you won't get rich.  Wink

As always, just give me notice via however and I will fix it!

Thanks mate!

Sweeeet  Cheesy

Mine's all up and running now, sitting nice and steady at 1.8Gh/s and has been for ~25000 shares (fingers crossed...)

Also thinking about getting a single-slot 5770 a friend's selling just to put it in my last motherboard slot and nudge me over 2Gh/s average Tongue

Something weird from yesterday's sheet - I spent a big chunk of time yesterday mining us3, but I'm down as having zero submitted shares there?
I may have been offline when you collected the stats, as I had a couple of BSODs yesterday after some hardware changes, but I'm pretty sure I'm missing some shares...
1029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] Help me fix my solo-mining and I'll give you coins! on: July 08, 2012, 07:57:05 PM
which gpus?
7970s

Any errors being spat out by reaper?

Also, this might help but not sure.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=91979.0
No errors, just monstrously high shares and "GPU error" percentages...

Reaper is pretty shaky software.

Lower your aggression, that should help.

Also set your GPU ram to the fastest non-overclocked speed and your GPU engine to the slowest non-underclocked speed.

Tried it with aggression at 12, roughly halved my hashrate but I'm still getting >70% stales on any pool I join...
1030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [LTC] Help me fix my solo-mining and I'll give you coins! on: July 08, 2012, 05:43:57 PM
So, decided to try pointing one of my rigs at LTC mining:

Obviously, something is not going entirely to plan.

These are my settings in reaper:
Code:
host 127.0.0.1
port 9332
user username
pass password

protocol litecoin

worksize 256
aggression 18
threads_per_gpu 1
sharethreads 18
lookup_gap 2
gpu_thread_concurrency 6144

This is my litecoin.conf from the roaming folder:

Code:
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=192.168.x.x
rpcport=9332
daemon=1
server=1
gen=0

block_nTime=1317972665
block_nNonce=2084524493

Whoever can fix this for me will get some LTC from me when I start mining successfully  Cheesy
1031  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [Project X] PPS Mining Club: High Mining Rewards *REGISTRATION CLOSED* on: July 08, 2012, 04:48:58 PM
LoL tit I am running a Litcoin Pool if ya want to send some CPU hashes it'sa way
( and yes we have found over 40 blocks on it already )

Roughly how difficult is it to mine Litecoin (I have no idea but thought I'd give it a bash with my CPU anyway  Grin )

Been mining on half my CPU cores for about an hour and just solo-mined my first block  Grin
1032  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5970 - 1 GHash/s - Bad Temps? on: July 08, 2012, 03:49:34 AM
Your VRM's will burn out.
Eventually you will see your hash rate fluctuated by 50 or so m/hashes
Once that happens your card will burn out in a couple of weeks or days.

I leave all my VRM temps below 100 now. 5970 is now hashing at 950 mhash/s and clocked at 1000 MHz. Will VRM temps in the 90s burn my VRMs?

Thanks

You should be alright I think...

What's the power draw on that thing?
1033  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [Project X] PPS Mining Club: High Mining Rewards *REGISTRATION CLOSED* on: July 08, 2012, 01:34:55 AM
I am moving everything back to 3 sepererate servers.  eu3 is going back as another option...  sorry to my mates accross the pond  Wink

If it's anything, I'm UK based, just switched from the EU servers to us3 as my primary and my rejected shares have gone from 3-4% to 0.2%

So I think I'll be using the US ones anyway  Cheesy
1034  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will ASIC mining destroy Bitcoin? on: July 07, 2012, 11:16:48 PM
The one concern I have is that it makes it effectively impossible to fork the network for any protocol change that would alter mining, because >95% of hashing power will be these ASICs, and so it would be impossible to get a majority of the hashing power to switch.

This may be totally unfounded on my part, as I don't know how likely such a requirement is, but regardless I'll be getting out of BTC once these start shipping until the dust settles and price+difficulty stabilise Wink
1035  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Converting BTC to GBP? (Paypal?) on: July 07, 2012, 11:11:32 PM
Intersango's great, have always used them for BTC->GBP.

If you must have it in paypal, you can get rates ~5% worse than the intersango spot price at spendbitcoins.com
1036  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Why would someone sell mining equipment for less then the equipment can generate on: July 07, 2012, 03:13:06 PM
I think the more interesting questions will be:

1-Will BFL deliver on their estimates?

2-Will they test their hardware mining? If so for how long? How many BTC will BFL mine for themselves before shipping their units?
1037  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Who's the unknown mining pool? on: July 05, 2012, 07:44:30 PM
I just had to jump in before this gets deleted: I assume Butterflylabs must be testing their new ASICS somewhere, no? :-)

I'm sure they will be. have they manufactured any yet? I think testing will come later in the year Smiley
they will be testing their fpga mini rigs tho I imagine

Didn't they claim they were testing them without actually mining any coins?

Not that I believe that for a second  Cheesy
1038  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5970 - 1 GHash/s - Bad Temps? on: July 05, 2012, 07:42:49 PM
Very impressive clocks and core cooling - Are you using thermal tape for the VRMs or what? Might want to take a look at that...

Also how much power is this thing getting through? I know for example I can mine on my 7970s up past 1200Mhz, but if I do so my humble rig will draw >1200W at the wall and it's no longer worth it  Cheesy Peak profitability for me is ~970Mhz @ 0.96V. Wouldn't be at all surprised if you can increase your actual profitability by downclocking and reducing voltages anyway...
1039  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [Project X] PPS Mining Club: High Mining Rewards *REGISTRATION CLOSED* on: July 02, 2012, 11:32:13 AM
Payouts screen shows me as paid BTC1.13052027 yesterday, but no payment's come through?

Also, request for the payouts page - any chance you could get all-time submitted shares across all servers? I think I've sent ~300k your way but I'd be interested in checking for the sake of it  Cheesy
1040  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: July 01, 2012, 03:09:28 PM
I'm gonna miss these jerry-rig pics once January 2013 arrives.

Tell me about it, there's some really... innovative solutions on here  Cheesy

Personally though I always liked the "total overkill gaming PC" model:

Does 1700Mhash @ ~580W.
Sadly will be pretty redundant as of next year  Cry
