481  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How secure is bitcoin account from hackers on: July 04, 2017, 05:30:00 PM
Getting your BTC hacked is over exaggerated, as most of us do not have enough Bitcoin to warrant hackers to waste time on us. They are going after people with tons of btc where they make way more than someone with like 0.25 btc. Although, it doesn't mean you shouldn't be careful & use strong passwords with good security.
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Billions stolen from South Korean Bitcoin exchange on: July 04, 2017, 05:27:42 PM
BitHumb definitely isn't the 4th largest exchange in the world. Maybe in South Korea, but there are plenty of other, much larger exchanges than that one.
483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you include bitcoins in your will (and make it a quest)? on: July 03, 2017, 05:13:42 PM
LMAO. I don't know if I would make it a quest, as you say... but I would definitely put them in my will, including clear instructions on how to use/sell them!
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin accepted at New York pre-school on: July 02, 2017, 11:44:41 PM
Realistically, I don't think these kids will even learn about Bitcoin until they are at least in high school.

The reason I am saying this is at least we had computer labs, etc. when I was growing up - it just goes to show how long it may take for Bitcoin to become mainstream.
485  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] | 🔥 Bitmixer.io Signature Campaign 🔥 | Earn up to 0.035 BTC/week on: July 02, 2017, 11:10:48 PM
What happens if we change our deposit address?

As LocalBitcoins charges a deposit fee, I want to switch to my Blockchain address instead.

Must I start a brand new week?
486  Economy / Economics / Re: could bitcoin be replaced by another crypto currency? on: July 02, 2017, 03:47:27 PM
Of course!

Throughout history, most large empires have fallen.

If most large empires have fallen only to be replaced by another, why couldn't Bitcoin suffer the same fate?

Now, do we want this to happen? That is a whole different question altogether. I guess it depends how much Ethereum you own! haha
487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Offline Wallets Vs Online Wallets on: July 02, 2017, 07:56:25 AM
Personally, I highly recommend going with an offline, paper wallet. This is the safest way that you can store Bitcoins, and essentially the same as cash. It is quite cool how a piece of paper can be made into cash... almost like printing money!
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What Is Bitcoin? on: July 02, 2017, 05:27:21 AM
I personally know quite a bit about Bitcoin. However, this thread is for the community here. The idea is every post should contain NEW info which hasn't previously been posted in this thread.

For example, I will start with the obvious: Bitcoin is internet money

Is this a perfect explanation? Of course not. This is where you come in.

Please post the most detailed aspects about Bitcoin you know, without repeating any info previously posted in this thread.

The idea is as we scroll down, the discussion should get continually more complicated as we dig further into the technology, development, history, etc.

Make sense?

So I will repeat the starting point: Bitcoin is internet money
489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Resurrection of Satoshi Nakamoto on: July 01, 2017, 09:03:38 PM
Highly unlikely. A major factor of Bitcoin is anonymity. It wouldn't make sense for him to reveal his identity.
490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using Bitcoin as down payment funds to purchase a new home with a mortgage... on: July 01, 2017, 08:35:08 PM
Of course if the Bitcoins are first converted into fiat this is possible. Why wouldn't it be?
491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We won't have the people's money on: July 01, 2017, 08:33:34 PM
True. Without the internet, Bitcoin is nothing... whereas gold is gold internet, or not.
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Governments Shutdown the Internet? on: June 29, 2017, 10:12:43 PM
I am all for freedom of speech, etc. However, I really wish the government would censor pornography.
493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is an altcoin on: June 29, 2017, 10:10:33 PM
I must admit, all the people claiming this got me confused. I was wondering if there would actually be 2 different coins.
494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction not confirmed after 10 hours on: June 28, 2017, 09:05:16 PM
That is what happens when you send with low fees these days. Be patient and it will inevitably go through. Next time, consider doubling the fee.
495  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Paxful.com Moderators stealing people Bitcoins Codedly, Scam and Fraud Site on: June 28, 2017, 07:56:43 PM
It is hard to know if you are telling the truth (not saying you are lying), it is just difficult to know when we don't know both sides of the story. Tongue
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is interested in launching a new crypto currency? on: June 28, 2017, 07:52:55 PM
Good luck. Given the open source code, I thought this would be easy. However, been working on it for a long time and it is a lot harder than it seems...
497  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC will up. dont worrry on: June 27, 2017, 10:56:02 PM
I was thinking that the bubble was popping, but it just went up 3% in a few hours. So maybe not... wait and see.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS] Poland’s Largest Food Delivery Starts Accepting Bitcoin on: June 27, 2017, 10:53:10 PM
Never heard of this site, but I use food delivery a lot and would consider paying with Bitcoin, if the process was simple enough. I previously tried using Bitcoin on Fiverr back when they used to accept it, and it was a big hassle. Major improvements must be made in this respect before it will go mainstream.
499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is my bitcoin address constantly changing? on: June 27, 2017, 08:05:38 PM
No idea what you are getting at, but if you have your Bitcoin on an exchange they may often change the deposit address so consider downloading a wallet client to keep your Bitcoin safe.
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum VS Bitcoin - The FUD on: June 27, 2017, 07:18:55 PM
I thought Ethereum was being developed by Microsoft? Highly doubtful that it would outright collapse. With that said, I am not too well versed about it, so my opinion isn't very strong here.
