#Bitcoin is now more valuable than $TSLA, $FB and is the 6th largest asset in the world by market cap. Next up: $AMZN
https://twitter.com/Bitcoin/status/1457706508213497856

With a few differences.

- TSLA, FB and AMZN can print more shares and dilute the value.

- The shares and the value were first issued by one owner (person or group), then sold.

As Bitcoin becomes more and more of a denominator, then when AMZN or TSLA print more shares they tacitly increase Bitcoin's value precisely because it cannot be diluted.  But since the value of those shares is becoming more and more translated into Bitcoin - Bitcoin HAS to become more valuable to accomodate the continued *creation* of value.   The magnitude of this coming feedback loop is incredible.  And i't BARELY kicking in at all at $65k.

The fact that Bitcoin is THE coming base monetary layer has NOT really been priced in AT ALL yet.

... what you are talking about is called "unit of account"

.... bitcoin is far away from becoming a unit of account, first it must prove itself as a medium of exchange and store of value in the market for monetary goods, which it is doing quite well but there is more work to do

.... when it is widely traded and exchanged for goods with ubiquitous payment methods while maintaing a relatively stable value against a basket of physical goods like food, fuel, housing, transportation, etc over short,  medium and longer terms then it will become natural to account for economic activity and produce trading accounts using bitcoin in the bottom line

... I like your visions Edstradamus ...

... but that's so far out there, it might be true then .... or do you need your 'ead read Ed?

I had a dream last night..

In my dream I woke up and checked the Bitcoin price how I always do..
At first I saw 1.1 and 800 and thought we just cleared 100k and came back down to around 80k..
THEN I realized what I was seeing on the chart was a high of $1.1 million while I was sleeping and it came back down to in the 800k area..

I was trying to decide if I should sell a little piece immediately or not..

Then I woke up for real and we were only just over $60k still..

$1.1mm coming soon..
As seen by Edstradamis..

Really should be time to break out soon!

... here's the trick, you buy the latest and greatest Smug_Mobile EV 2000 to virtue signal your green status

... then you put a 50 kW diesel genset in your backyard (with solar, wind, micro-hydro, basement lab cold fusion, etc if it works for ya) and grid-tie inverter, maybe some batteries, to keep yourself insulated from the socialist madness that's about to swamp the power/energy systems in the next decade

... or get a big cummins diesel pick-up truck that has electric power take off Wink and run over people with their faces glued to the motorway

as well as everyone else in the same boat. cuz waiting for a charge at some charging station miles away from home just aint gonna happen.

And, of course, having a driveway of your own you can charge in is far from the rule in any case. A rarity in many cities.

never thought of those who only have on street parking. cables snaking everywhere.. not

i just cant see the existing power grid is gonna handle double (?) the power when everything (heat/transport) is electric.

now i do like electric stuff; i have a battery powered chainsaw, trimmer and week wacker for light yard stuff (with gas chainsaws and weedwacker for heavier stuff) and i love the near zero maintenance that electrics have. but once nearly all consumer stuff is electric.. is our grid gonna hold? no one seems to talk about that? or is our grid actually capable now and im worrying about nothing?

... it's a lot. Average personal EV annual use is estimated at ~ 4,000 kWh, average household annual electric use is well-known at ~ 10,000 kWh ... so not including commercial conversions.

Basically the whole electric grid needs to be scaled up by 50%, probably more including commercial transportation conversions.

So that's 50% more or bigger suburban transformers, copper cables, substations, transmission lines, power pylons and generation capacity (power stations) ... basic law of physics says more flow (joules)=bigger pipes(amps), so just the total copper volume alone will need to be increased by 50% of currently installed volume of copper in cabling, at least ... transformers, etc is additional.

It's okay if one or two houses on a block have EV's (those houses may need internal wiring upgrades also) ... anymore than that on the block then you're needing to upgrade local infrastructure, transformers, cables, etc, since every 10 EVs on the block is like another 4 new houses equivalent demand ... on an already full block with matched infrastructure capacity to demand

FFS, I just renewed my electricity contract, I only buy on a one year basis. This year I have been paying the equivalent of 58 USD a month, next year I will be paying 175 USD, and that is just to the producer, at least another 50 to 100 USD, depending on how much I use, to the company that owns the cables and in taxes comes on top of that.
Good thing I'm not poor anymore, but what about all those poor souls that live on a paycheck to paycheck basis, how are they gonna afford this shit.

Basically I'm going from 5 USD to 20 USD per kWh before tax and transfer fees. In the end, with tax and fees, its about twice as much.

.... climate change is an expensive fantasy, basically economic suicide by the arrogant

... it's the green new deal great reset building back better, we don't need to invest in new energy sources, you'll own nothing and be happier (or sent to Greta's re-education camp for deniers)

Ms. Haugen, in our phone interview, also resolved a minor mystery: whether she’s quietly relying on the financial support of Pierre Omidyar, the eBay co-founder whose groups started working with her in October, as Politico first reported.

The reality, she said, is that she has her own financial resources, and has accepted help from nonprofit groups backed by Mr. Omidyar only for travel and similar expenses.

“For the foreseeable future, I’m fine, because I did buy crypto at the right time,” she told me.

.... pretty sure this bitch is a spook or intelligence asset that is trying to use the recent public campaign of hate against social media to torpedo FB plans for end-to-end encryption roll out

... we've known for years FB and socials are toxic cesspits, so after embedding herself in FB for less than 2 years she comes out with this 'whistleblower' crap that has been obvious for anyone looking from the outside what FB has been doing to young minds

... the spooks have been happy to turn a blind eye to FB social crimes while they have been major beneficiaries of gaining all that juicy surveilled data and privacy-raping their citizens .... now suddenly they grow a conscience when FB rolls out end-to-end encryption plans?

.... cry me a river scumbags, after fiat banksterism, intelligence agencies are the biggest hindrance to freedom and good things, they're becomng a plague on humanity

https://bitcoinist.com/how-bitcoin-adoption-rate-is-beating-the-internet/

Quote
In only 12 years, Levin estimates that BTC reached 135 million users today with projections to have 1 billion users by 2025. In the chart below, it’s possible to distinguish that when the Internet was at the same point in its adoption curve, it took 7.5 years to reach 1 billion users. BTC will do the same in almost half the time.

https://michael-levin.medium.com/part-1-the-dual-adoption-curves-of-bitcoin-2ffafbc5d5e7

Quote

these two adoption curves can occur concurrently with Bitcoin, the asset, kickstarting the adoption process which helps Bitcoin, the network, to ultimately send and receive value. (…) Furthermore, the overall Bitcoin adoption curve is reaching a critical moment. And, the interplay of these two curves will be critical for Bitcoin to reach the mainstream.

...

Any reasonable measurement will show similar results. Bitcoin, the asset, is likely crossing into the early majority while Bitcoin, the network, is on the cusp of moving from innovators to early adopters. So, overlapping the two, Bitcoin, overall, is still early in its adoption curve, likely somewhere in the early adopter phase.

... we're still early

My greatest wish in life is that when she dies, there are numerous parades worldwide....

...not to honor her life, but to celebrate her death.

Joyfully singing "Yay, the wicked witch is dead!"

Fuck that wealthy elitist bitch.

Too bad she doesn't make movies with Alec Baldwin.

... Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney are on a set making a movie about going hunting together ... who gets shot?

Firework on Binance US.

I just zoomed in to the 1m chart and it seems as though someone did a market sell of ~590 bitcoin.  That's like diving into the shallow end of a pool.

... who would do such a thing?

Someone who knows exactly what the books look like and is playing in the derivatives?

Looks like Fuckery to me, no-one fat fingers 590 BTC.

... mmm, looks like institutional level fuckery, like to stall a massive run into a newly opened futures ETF
