We are really close guys. Don't bail out and jump ship now...
As long as Ataxx gets his funds in today we should be well ahead the deadline.  Grin

This. And whenever MTGOX decide to show up with my funds ...

Anyone know how long it takes to transfer funds from bank (via Dwolla) into MTGOX account? I started on 4/22 - the money is gone from my bank and nothing is in my MTGOX ACCOUNT!

Ragin....  Can you tell us if there will be any issue in terms of taxes / customs on your end to receive the chips?

I can tell you that I have been selling on eBay and shipping computer and electronic parts worldwide without a problem. I don't think an item this small will cause any issue.
647  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as Escrow! Send coins to confirm! on: April 26, 2013, 07:20:20 AM
Are you going to ship to Canada?
If yes, I'm in for 40 chips (3.233 BTC)

Shipping worldwide. You are responsible for your own individual shipping.

If I'm interested, do I send BTC to address listed on 1st page?
Do I need to PM someone to send shipping address?
Anything else?

Yes how many do you want to contribute? Send to address on front page.
650  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Avalon ASIC] US-based burnin alternative on: April 26, 2013, 05:55:20 AM
I understand. However, we need people with sufficient experience in PCB layout and assembly. This is a time critical operation, so whoever delivers first gets the biggest piece of pie. There is no time for research / learning. You will need to know stuff beforehand - once the specs and plans are released, it needs to be realized and manufactured ASAP.

Well it is NOT included with the group buy but you definitely have other options available Wink - If my operation is a success then it will save you a lot of time and money because I can build machines with your chips and  just ship them right to you. I'm just hoping for the best.
651  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Avalon ASIC] US-based burnin alternative on: April 26, 2013, 05:38:01 AM
Do you have any specs available yet for your ASICs? I'm curious to at least know how many chips your boards will take.

Nope just getting our feet wet and researching right now.

Demo site is up!

http://neo-asics.com/

This is not good enough. Unless you have sufficient background or know proper people, you cannot just research and pull this.

ryepdx - I guess it is time for you to look into this as well.

Note that I am NOT offering any services yet. I'm simply getting it out there. Just tossing an idea around. I'm not taking any pre-orders or anything right now. Just gettin' my feet wet Wink
652  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as Escrow! Send coins to confirm! on: April 26, 2013, 05:26:49 AM
Yeah I know man the only reason why zefir's batches goes quick is because he took BTC instead of pledges. We wasted almost a week for pledges then started collecting. While we collected people ignore their PMs and over 400+ BTC pledged was pulled out. This isn't counting the guy that said he had 390 BTC to pledge. The best way is to get more people onto the wagon so we can fulfill the group buy! I'm going to make another post on Reddit now.

For all those wishing to create a deadline!

Please vote promptly in response to this message, so we can have a full process creating this!

Ok to deadline of Apr 29th 23:59 UTC. If Ataxx cash transaction goes smoothly, he/she should have the coins in a few hours tops so Monday is more than enough. Although it worries me a little about the pressure on John to return all coins as quick as possible.

We can populate the form with return addresses so he has an easy time.

I know he already has his own controlled payment tracker, and he will still get his very nice fee.  If he has 24 hours, that seems good. He'll be able to multiply all payments by 99% and send that amount back.

John, please let us know if you feel you need more than 24 hours to return funds, so we can pull back the deadline accordingly.

I honestly don't know why you're trying to take over the thread. I know you're trying to help but honestly you're just stirring up more anxiety for people. It's their BTC so it will be their decision. If you want out just be out.

I personally think we need to at least wait until Ataxx's final outcome would be. If he does not manages to get any BTC and we need to wait longer and you feel like you want your BTC then ask for it back. We don't have to return everyone's BTC. We only return if you want out of the group buy. I just want best for everyone and that is to push for that 100% BTC sent to Escrow so we can finally pre-order.

It was very unfortunate that a few parties with 50+ BTC pulled out last minute when we have enough pledges to start sending to Escrow. That was the MAJOR problem. I was extremely pissed about that because it pretty much messed everything up.

Finally got a demo site up. I feel really good about it Wink

http://neo-asics.com/

Let's get these chips pre-ordered so we can move on to brainstorming about building housing for the chips.

Again if you are fully committed with the group buy then stay until the very end. If you feel like you need to pull out and put your BTC else where then feel free to do so. I ain't go anywhere!

I just called Mike (Ataxx)

he's currently at the BTC conference. Let's hope this goes through and we could have our batch done TONIGHT!

Woohoo good work OP -

Alright everyone - I have put together an excel document that will allow us to vote on the deadline, but I want some input on what a reasonable deadline is. I know the goal of the deadline is to get in before the deadline for the other group buy.

The deadline for the other group buy is zero hour zulu time may 1, which basically translates to April 30th 23:59:59 UTC, 2013.

I propose our deadline be 24 hours before this to give John K 24 hours to distribute BTC if we fail to hit the total.  That would be a deadline of April 29th 23:59:59 UTC, 2013.  For easy conversion, that means we would have all BTC in by Monday, April 29th 5 PM Pacific Daylight time, giving everyone until the end of the business day Monday.

Can I get some concensus on this deadline or discussion on anything that needs changing? I will commute home and reply to this thread during, and I will post the full discourse and excel document tracking votes after 11 PM EDT.

edit: for the record, this proposal includes giving JohnK his 1% escrow either way for his hard work.

I agree. I will call Ataxx right now to see how his meeting went.

of 801.6525BTC sent!

Let's get this 100% guys! Make this go viral if you have to! Ask around to see if anyone with BTC available is interested in filling the rest of this group buy.

Thanks for making this post Rye.

UPDATE!

Alright guys. I think I can move towards the next step in my little business plan as far as working with the local engineers in my state. I decided to purchase domains for my small start up group!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you:

(30 second paint job)

http://neo-asics.com/ will currently point to the updated spreadsheet

I will keep you guys updated on what we plan on doing as far as assembling these machines. After talking to my team we are confident that we can put together a machine using Avalon ASICs chips. But only time can tell until we can put together concrete evidence. We are just doing a lot of research right now but the enthusiasm is really high!

If you are interested in having machines made using your chips send me a PM! This will be a first come first serve basis.

As for pricing we will be asking for parts + labor. Pricing at this point is unknown but you can base it some what on:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/45698vk7bpvbdkp/BOM.xls - from the DIY thread.

Obviously you can opt out anytime you want  this is just so I can see who is interested in something like this!

P.S I need a photoshop guru to design my logo hehe

660  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as Escrow! Send coins to confirm! on: April 26, 2013, 12:50:45 AM

Alright, we need a bigger push to get these chips in.

I want to ask two things:

(1) OP - can you put your personal stake in?  I know you are waiting on partners but everyone will rest easier when your money is up.

(2) Ataxx seems like a nice guy, but he's very new on this forum.  We need to start closing out the remaining 200 BTC of stake.

That said, I propose we work to close out the outstanding 198 BTC through any purchaser available.

I will have an agreement for everyone to vote for or against for a deadline for the escrow tonight, so make sure to sign in later!

Remember, the deadline is to protect your bitcoins so that you can put your money down now with a guarantee that you will get it back should these 200 BTC not materialize at least 24 hours before the ship date for Avalon's large order in Germany.  This is to create options for people who bought in in good faith that this would materialize quickly, and as such the deadline will create safety for those still wishing to contribute.

Sent my original pledge (without my friends)

https://blockchain.info/tx/958472b565b5d19236383dd60bc499eda04351e8212532b4d04d5d8b306a47dd

Please confirm JohnK. P.S I did not include any fees yet. I will do that when  more BTC comes in from MTGOX! Sent raw 17BTC for now!

I hope this will alleviate some stress / pressure / anxiety for some people Smiley
