1021  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] HaoBTC, mining dividend paid out hourly on: January 20, 2016, 10:13:47 PM
before people invest on your service. i think you must upload videos of mining farm. Don't just photos, they will make people are not doubt.
I think anyone who has followed Eric's threads here and done any research online knows that HaoBTC is a real company.  His photos and write ups speak more than videos to me.

Agree, I'm about ready to jump ship here...
1023  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: January 14, 2016, 06:08:06 AM
Hi guys, need your help. i have antminer u3 installation with zadig done and i have problem with this miner. No detected USB Devices.

With cgminer started unplug the usb cable and plug it back in and wait a bit. ==> i try and still not working

You also might look into devices and see if you see it.   Make sure it is not detected by pc and cgminer problem.

What version of Windows are you using?

it's detected by pc. cgminer using 4.8.0. cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:0.65 -o stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333 -u a.1 -p X --bmsc-voltage 0800 --bmsc-freq 1306.

using windows 7 64bit

When detected by the pc does it show the proper driver, i.e. did Zadig work?  Run Zadig a few times, unplugging and replugging the U3 between each time.

Also, try cgminer 4.9.2 and use the updated --au3 tags.
1024  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [10 PH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: January 13, 2016, 11:56:14 PM
Since I have mined since the start of the pool, I have a reward in every block.
Thus I also have the Pool hash rate shown for every (valid) block on the Rewards page Smiley
Comma separated, lf (not crlf)
Block,Block UTC,Miner Reward,N Diff,N Range,Pool N Avg
http://kano.is/kblocks.txt

Awesome, so the pool hash rate at block 23 was 1.31PH.  As I type this the pool hash rate is 9.9PH, 7.56 times larger.
The network difficulty at block 23 was 39,603,666,252. As I type this the network difficulty is 113,354,299,801, 2.86 times larger.

Is there a non-linear increase in how hard it is to find a share higher than value X?  If not, then it looks like the first streak was much more impressive.
1025  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [10 PH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: January 13, 2016, 10:01:16 PM
Was getting worried approaching 100% Grin Grin Grin

It's getting ridiculous... 96.907% and 12 in a row below 100% (is this the longest streak yet?).

Yes, I've jinxed it now. Brace yourselves for a long one.

They had a streak of 17 green blocks back in Nov 2014.

I think this streak is more impressive given the difficulty level today vs. end of 2014.  What was the pool hash rate back then?  I suppose we could compare pool hash rate then to now vs. network difficulty then to now and see which streak is "better".

Or we could just keep solving green blocks and render my wondering moot.  Grin
1026  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread Jan 13 to Jan 27 picks are closed. on: January 13, 2016, 08:22:52 PM
I think we're going to be high single digits again, too.  Simply astounding, hundreds of PH each adjustment amount to sooooo many machines being plugged in around the world.
1027  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3+ Discussion and Support Thread on: January 13, 2016, 08:20:35 PM
Cheers Kano. I'll get it up and running then take a look at updating it. I'm not massively compentent doing in depth programming stuff. But I'll search the forum for the necessary information and see what I can do.
All the info you need is on the webpage I linked above, it's a simple process if you use something like cygwin to ssh into the machine.

Here's a cap of Kano's status screen from my S3+:
1028  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: January 13, 2016, 08:14:07 PM
PM sent, let me know if you're interested or not.

If not I'll keep the dead U3 around for a little longer before sending it to the e-recycle bin.

User jlauzon has not got back to me yet.  I'll keep the dead U3 for another week then it's off to the e-recycle bin.  If anyone else wants it, let me know. 0.03btc to cover shipping to lower 48 and it's yours.
1029  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [10 PH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: January 13, 2016, 08:10:49 PM
Can a new thread be opened for the cheerleader squad and just keep this one pool related? Trying to blow through 20 pages of voodoo and chicken wings to find out pool related info gets more and more difficult. I try to keep up and my usual disclaimer, not trying to offend anyone. A good alternative for cheerleading type posts is Twitter. What is was designed for. Maybe use that for the chicken food and celebration tweets and leftovers will be all detailed pool related. Remember, some of us can't get on the forums daily and I would like to keep up to date on things but sometimes I can't because of 20 pages of "we will get this block" or "have some chicken".  While it is crazy funny wacky stuff us old guys read slower and can't keep up so fast. If I'm the only one that thinks this way, then stuff me right back down the hole from which I came.
Thank you.
How about no?

Here's a simple solution for you: Start->Control Panel->Mouse->Wheel->Roll the wheel one notch to scroll: The following number of lines at a time.

You don't have to read every post, you know.  I think there are way more people who enjoy the fun posts because, well, that's one of the things that makes this pool so fun.
1030  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [10 PH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: January 13, 2016, 06:42:30 AM
The Gambler's Fallacy annoyance
oh and of course a 666.666% or worse block is expected, on average, once every 785.8 blocks
Exactly my point, we can expect red blocks.

I am so happy with this news - thanks to Bery's s3 - kopi on me when you come to Clementi area.
This proves that Kano can scale up. I hope the solo pool in SG will help hit the winner soon too.
Same here, I love when an S3 solves a block at these large difficulties, it gives me motivation to keep mine running on cksolo.

Personally, I think that any site that wont show a picture and forces you to enable javascript is bad news to me.
I run FF noscript, and any site that doesn't let me on ... I don't use.
Ditto, it's amazing how many things are hiding on web pages that most people who don't use noscript never even know about.
1031  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dec 31 to Jan 12 Diff thread picks closed. on: January 13, 2016, 12:51:38 AM
added all the diff changes and i got 98.63

You can't just sum them all, they compound each other so you would need to analyze them sort of like compounding interest.
1032  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3+ Discussion and Support Thread on: January 13, 2016, 12:49:26 AM
The only things that im unsure of at the moment is what all the various stats are on the screen shots ive seen throughout the forum (Diff#1, getworks, local work etc etc)?
Well the first thing you should do is update the cgminer with Kano's latest update, it removes all the unnecessary fields and adds a few useful ones.  Plus it reduces cpu load dramatically and makes your S3 more efficient: https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/tree/master/AntS3
1033  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jan 11 to Feb 11 Sidehack Compac Stick pool new 30 day run. on: January 12, 2016, 07:57:26 AM
these are in order of joining club

http://poolmonitor.cryptoglance.info/
Will the crypoglance web page be purged of all the previous run info?  Maybe archive it for future reference?

Sorry for the delay, but I think I have correctly rejoined the pool. The Raspberry Pi requires essentially zero attention, and as long as my sticks were flashing, all was well.
I think you are supposed to post a worker link with Jan11 name to this thread so Phil can update his records and so all the users can follow the links.
1034  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee solo mining USA/SG/DE servers 147 blocks solved! on: January 12, 2016, 07:52:06 AM
-ck, I posted this in the gekko solo club thread but at Phil's suggestion I'm bringing it here, too.  I recall reading about some best ever share bugs a little while ago and am wondering if I experienced another one?
My current "best ever" as of this morning is approaching 1M.
Code:
"bestever": 989722

Hmmm, can someone explain how my best ever share has gone down over the last few hours?
Code:
"bestever": 374261

Is this a bug of some sort?

Worker in question: http://solo.ckpool.org/workers/1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.Jan11mikestangstick

Note the time stamps on the posts, I'm not sure what happened but could try to provide any other information if it was helpful.  Thanks.
I'm not aware of any issue with bestever any more. Was this a bestever on one of the secondary pools - only new best evers are carried over as of yesterday. Are you also sure you were looking at the same worker? I see one with just mikestangstick as the extension that has "bestever": 14155816

Worker "mikestangstick" was from the last gekko club run.  This morning I changed all my club workers from that to the Jan11mikestangstick name, checked the /workers/ link I posted to the club thread to verify the hash was going there (and I typically click urls when I post them to verify they work), and then copy/pasted the 989k best ever share.  I clicked the same link a few hours later and noted the discrepancy.  The best share reported on my home mining monitor matches the 374k best ever that is reported.  I suppose it could be user error on my part, but given the steps I followed I'm uncertain where the error could be.  Or maybe I'm just crazy.  Undecided

If it's not a bug then that just leaves error on my side.

And you sound like an immature, combative, jerk who has never had to deal with police before.  If you want the police to fuck with you, follow that guy's advice.

Be polite and know your rights.  Trying to act cool only gets you in trouble.
1037  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee solo mining USA/SG/DE servers 147 blocks solved! on: January 12, 2016, 12:20:57 AM
Basically it isn't said but those 0.5-1PH could all be small workers hashing little shares with minimum difficulty while if you had 1 or a couple rigs that equated to that you "might" have a better chance.
Nope, it doesn't matter if you have one machine at 1PH or one thousand machines at 1TH each, a hash is a hash is a hash and any one has just as much chance of solving a block as another.
1038  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dec 31 to Jan 12 Diff thread picks closed. on: January 11, 2016, 11:21:20 PM
today tons and tons of blocks made  173 with about 20 minutes left

Yeah today ended up being +17% for the day. But I don't think we will exceed +10% this diff period with only 2 days left.

Need some help with the maths here?  Smiley I think we made 175 Blocks Yesterday (392557-392731)
175-144 = 31 additional blocks.

Now I would have expressed the 31 as a % increase over 144? 31/144 = 21.5%

However I guess this is 31/175 = 17.7%

I assume the 17.7% is correct, but why is that?

Rich

You do (175-144)/175144*100%=   X

Fixed. Smiley

It's likely we will not see another flat diff adjustment until next summer, there's going to be a mad push to solve as many 25btc blocks as possible before the halving.  After that, who knows what will happen.

You should refrain from posting old worker links in this thread, it might confuse the record keepers.
