1261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT coin - A total scam? on: April 08, 2015, 07:22:41 PM
NXT is being used to launder BTC or other forms of money, and it's somewhere around 4-5 people who drive the whole thing and they collectively own 80+% of the coin. jl777 is one of those people. They go through phases of distributing the coins to people who they think can improve the profile of NXT(that would be me and Ian Knowles) and other tactics like 'swarm teams' and manipulation of the market ticker to make a steady profit. This goes to pay the promoters, infrastructure, etc. Jl777 in particular seems to have some kind of exalted status in this group as it's abundantly clear he is running multiple ponzi schemes, everyone knows it, but no one calls him on it. Jl777 has garnered at least .5 million USD from his ponzi investments and he has never a the end produced a return on any of them.
how large the group of friends is and what % they still own is debatable but yeh another scam in cryptoland

1264  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's the best free email service? on: April 06, 2015, 07:51:54 PM
Where you don't have to register your phone number like yahoo mail or gmail.... yet also legitimate and secure

I don't think you have to use your phone number with hotmail or outlook or whatever its called nowadays (at least you didn't the last time I used it), but I wouldn't say it's the best account that's for sure but it meets your criteria at least.

gave up hotmail/outlook as i could not skip 2 factor (phone number).
personaly using https://www.inbox.com/
what about https://unseen.is/  (closed source Anonymous ?)

Can  you not use an alt email address for that? Think that's what I did but don't remember being mandatory. Did you look to see if there was a skip this step button?
I did not want 2 factor, looked hard for skip button, but gave up on hotmail/outlook. Lucky as it was not my main account, have not been able to access it to this day.
Also have major problem with gmail at moment with 2 factor enabled and no working sim. Cant get a new sim for some time as i am in another country currently. Contacted gmail to disable, but no luck as i could not remember what month or year registered.

1267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The ICO/Pre-sale/Crowd-sale/Crowd-funding "Marketing Scam" on: April 04, 2015, 05:08:02 PM
For those who didn't figure it out yet, there's no such thing as "fair distribution" via ICO, it's smoke and mirrors. The end result is exactly like Ripple - ie you're investing in something with unknown dilution.

All ICOs without burn are inherently scammy, because issuer can self-buy up to unlimited amount. To illustrate:

1. New PoS coin is announced.
2. Coins are distributed according to BTC deposited to ICO address up to certain date (or asset purchases, or whatever)
3. Others buy 100BTC worth of shares
4. Issuer buys 900BTC worth of shares and gets his 900BTC back immediately. Can even repeat the cycle many times during ICO, if the deposit address is not guaranteed to be frozen.
5. Issuer now owns 90% of issue at zero cost

This is why only proof of burn distribution can be trusted (ie XCP did things right, NXT or master? not exactly.)
fishing for suckers to part with there money
1268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why volume of altcoins just dropped drastically ? on: April 04, 2015, 04:59:48 PM
There is a significant volume decrease at most of the altcoins. Except some coins , nearly all altcoins have very low volume (@cryptsy especially). What is your opinion about this? Why altcoins' volume dropped?

I have some conspiracy theories , but I like most the possibility of all whales went to holiday Smiley
because guys like you literally touch any junk and scam floating about
1269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do most known experts and widly-respected posters prefer PoW over PoS & PoI? on: April 04, 2015, 04:47:26 PM
Mintcoin was full pow then a hybrid and now full pos.  Seems to be doing great.

What are you talking about!!!?Huh

Many of the weed and hemp nice coins have been growing in volume or are about to.

CANN up 150% in the last month.

THC up 250% in the last month.

CCN, DOPE and POT are about to blast off.

The value of CANN and THC have also been increasing a lot. I only own these types of coins so I wouldn't know whats going on with other ones.

you have to pump a bit harder not working otherwise

Is OpenBazaar dead or something?
No, but its the new linux (go nowhere)

Linux has quietly taken over the world. Maybe this will be similar. You really know when something's succeeded when you didn't have to be aware that you were using it.
Yes and No depending how you look at it

personally i have not touched windows since the xp days
1272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Low altcoin trading volume on Bittylicious - VTC, QRK, PPC and WDC on: March 18, 2015, 10:47:38 PM
Personally i can not see a long term future for 5 coins you lack volume. (VTC, QRK, WDC, FTC, BC) Peercoin is an interesting one everyone seems to like it, but lately volume really nosedived and noone seems to spent money on.  Would love to see it going places.
If a coin has less than 50btc total daily volume, trouble is brewing.
Volume is the a and o in crypto a dead coin can have a marketcap in the millions
