841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think that Bitcoincash will replace Bitcoin on: January 01, 2019, 06:23:34 PM
Nothing will replace the original bitcoin. There have been more than ten forks of bitcoin already and more coming in future.
Oh, chee and what is your opinion of "original bitcoin".
I can tell you something the Bitcoin Satoshi created is peer to peer and not creating a banking channel.

BSV is Hardcore Bitcoiners the way Satoshi created it. None of this none bitcoin 3rd party  segregated witness (segwit) bullshit, aka creating banking channel or tinkering with max supply or what not.
It is a staunch community thats why they carry forward the creators way of bitcoin chain, aka Men to Men (Peer to Peer like in White paper) transaction.

ABC is Chinese miners version

First time ever happened to bitcoin. 5 negative months in a roll.

You forgot a few bits and pieces

Also emission rates (inflation) are in
846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have I joined at the wrong time? on: January 01, 2019, 01:07:15 PM
There is no wrong time to join as Bitcoin (most versions) is deflationary supply of new coins halving every 4 years.
Fiat inflates 2% or more per annum,

Here, coin emission rates. For long term investment you want it as low as possible, previously gold was the best option.
Look at bitcoin in 2040

Happy New Year to everyone across the globe !
Would't it be "around the globe", across is like the other side of the lake.
Or you literally just mean happiness to the opposite of the globe, and ignore the rest?

Is Crypto A Way To become Rich / Millionaire ?
Deflationary crypto coins is a way not to lose 1-2% of your wealth because of inflation.
As a payment system it will fail, it is a way to protect your wealth and increase towards retirement not decrease year after year

Paper wallets are great and better than Ledger and co, but two issues: Water and Fire.
Metal wallets like;
 https://cryptosteel.com/ or
https://bitkee.com/ or make your own dog tag
 https://www.amazon.com/punch-set-numbers/s?page=1&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Apunch%20set%20numbers
is the best choice in my opinion.
850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple will Die on: December 31, 2018, 01:25:04 PM
As long as the crypto currency community exists. and they trade the crypto currency will not die including Ripple (XRP). they will not die if the trade circulation is still running
Everyone understands this. Especially if you understand that today many rich people are starting to invest serious money in cryptocurrency, I think that today cryptocurrency is a very profitable business. Today we need to try to invest faster.

Why does Bitcoin exist in to begin with?
One of the reasons, people are sick and tired of getting there wealth diluted every year by 1-2% or even more.
Ripple apply the same  old fiat style system, 1-2% new XRP every year, no differed than printing new fiat.
Bitcoin coin emission rate halves every 4 years and 83% on the marked so far. Next haling about May 2020.
Deflation will kill Inflationary system in long the run, only a matter of time.
Wait, well, in that case, why bother with XRP at all? Today we already have SWIFT which works very well what is the difference between XRP in this case? Personally, I do not see the point in using XRP if in general there is no difference

There is one massive difference, privacy. Cash is anonymous, xrp is not, how much i smoke is known when transacted with xrp and data is then sold to insurance company who then charge me more to take out insurance.
Other then the enslaving non private part is the same as fiat
Single entity controls all Federal reserve, Ripple Inc
Same yearly wealth loss of 1-2% through inflation.
Neither belongs to me, just care-taking in wallet.
851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is going to convince me which is the best! on: December 31, 2018, 12:18:48 PM
BTC (most versions) supply of new coins to be sold halves every 4 years
XRP same as Fiat 1-2%  inflation per year, for ever
ETC how knows, original story 90Mil will be max coins, well past that mark, new day new story, maybe at some stage staking a x% flat
852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why everyone becoming the holder? on: December 31, 2018, 12:07:50 PM
Holding is easy and no hassle.
Trading coins takes time, skill, and is risky to have coins on exchanges.
853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin is good for future ? on: December 31, 2018, 11:57:23 AM
Anything deflationary
(except maybe ABC as Chinese miner controlled chain may change total supply to make profits sometime in future)
One of reasons Bitcoin exist in first place is the fact that people need place to store value without loosing 1-2% or more in inflation.
Bitcoin supply halving every 4 years, next one about May 2020
854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple will Die on: December 30, 2018, 06:49:12 PM

.....................Bitcoin, the original.

If you would be so kind and point me to the section of segregated witness (segwit) here is Bitcoins white paper
https://www.bitcoin.com/bitcoin.pdf

Creating a banking channel (lightning) is like opening a bank account and has nothing to do with original Bitcoin.
Satoshi's version  is Peer to Peer (Men to Men, Person to Person) without 3rd party. Unwanted, not necessary or needed.

Satoshi quote
Quote
A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution.

what do you think about electric cars?
Craziness in purest form. Lets for a minute assume every car on the road now is electric, can you imagine the amount of toxic waste from batteries. It would cost halve the new price just to dispose of it.

The first electric car cruised the roads over 100 years ago and there is a reason the 1000 year old technology (yes batteries exist a long time) has not succeeded. We suppose to move one forward, not go back to proven failures.
857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash vs Bitcoin SV on: December 28, 2018, 05:49:50 PM
Cryptocurrency this days is just overrun with worthless greedy money whores. Only care about get rich quick.
Hard core Bitcoiners, Satoshis implementation (Bitcoin SV) price is secondly, it will still be around long after everything else is gone.
Chines miners version ABC, future is uncertain. In my opinion i will outlive it.

Ripple will Die
I am taking bets, the question is not if but how man years if can survive.

Why? in the age of deflation, inflation systems like fiat and xrp  can long term not compete.
One of the reasons  Bitcoin exist is the fact people are sick and tired of losing 1-2% of there wealth because of the inflation year in year out.
Bitcoins supply halves every 4 years and over 90% of coins already on market.
In some years 0.1% of new Bitcoins hit the market and with fiat or xrp 1-2%.
bitcoin will half supply again and again.....
At some stage even the most daft will realize diluting forever at over 1% sucks big time.

BTW, Ripple is a company which sells xrp and the company has plans to become a software company after xrp sales collapse.
859  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 18, 2018, 09:37:29 PM
BTC Difficulty adjustment in 2.9 hours. Watch the price after that, I suspect it is going to go down.

Difficulty follows price.  Price does not follow difficulty.

Before you can put more money in safety deposit box you have to increase security. In Bitcoin lingo Hashrate is security.

This is really fundamental, some post around here outright scary.

860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP really better than ETH??? on: December 18, 2018, 09:07:25 PM
If the capitalization of XRP is greater than ETH, this does not mean that it is better.

It certainly is a better scam. XRP is not a cryptocoin, you can never own it, it will always belong to Ripple INC.
Same as a casino chip/token/jeton/coin always belongs to the casino. You may take it home or whatever but it still belongs to the casion/Ripple.
