I believe you can uninstall whatever version of SDK you currently have by going to CCC then uninstall.
But for whatever reason, you'll have to go into open up the SDK2.1 package as an archive and go to the specific file to install it. Don't ask me why since I don't know but I'm guessing that there's a reason why I was told to install SDK2.1 that particular way and it worked for me and others apparently.

Here's an old post of mine where I asked a similar question when I first started into bitcoin mining (which wasn't very long ago): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=62239.msg730227#msg730227And here is the download page for the older versions (official AMD site): http://developer.amd.com/sdks/AMDAPPSDK/downloads/pages/AMDAPPSDKDownloadArchive.aspxI've read that you have to go to the CCC setup and tell it to remove the older SDK but the very first time I just installed SDK2.1 and it worked for me so YMMV. Once you get the SDK program, open it using something like WinRAR and go into \Packages\AppsATIStreamSDK_Dev_win764a\ and run ATIStreamSDK_dev.msi to install SDK2.1. I went from getting like 650-700 mhash/s to 750-800 mhash/s on my 5970 by doing so. Other people posted in my post saying that it helped them too. There's a pretty big consensus from what I've seen that SDK2.1 is the go to version for 5xxx series.

From what I've read posted by others, SDK 2.1 is best for 5xxx series.
As for what version of drivers, possibly one of the Catalyst 11.x versions. I'm using 12.1 though with SDK 2.1 and my hash rates seem to be fine.

I was in an auction where top bid hit $430, I got a second chance offer for $325. My guess is at least some of that action is fake to pump up bids. Still $600 is insane fake bids or not. Eventually the prices will come down. Mining is a marathon not a sprint.
That's the first thing that popped into my mind and is the reason I went and looked at the bidders on the cards that went that high. You can't see specific names but you can see that it's the same two ebay accounts placing all those bids against each other and one of those guys has the high bid on several of the other more reasonably priced ($400ish) cards.

When browsing: 825/150 @ 1.05v
When sleeping (850 causes driver response problems when I'm browsing but completely stable if I'm not using the computer): 850/150 @ 1.05v
I keep fan at 50% and temps hover around 75-80C (case door off).

Seems like the same one or two buyers bidding high on the 4 or so 5970s that're currently around the 550-600 mark.
Will have to keep an eye on the ones that are ending sooner. Also there's like a 600 buy it now card but it's just sitting there.

Ah, true I was just under the impression it might be limited similar to how my 5970 was.
Tried doing some searches but found nothing beyond mention of how the 7970 underclocks memory to 350mhz when it's not in use.

jim, what are your setting for your 5970's? at 825/300 I'm getting 340/gpu
At 825/150 @ 1.05v I'm getting ~375 mhash/s from each core. Haven't tried dropping the voltage any to see if it'd remain stable at 825/150 though. I can bump it up to 850/150 @ 1.05v and get ~390 mhash/s but then I get stability issues where the screen will go black and I get a notification saying the driver stopped responding and it recovered but cgminer stops working until I restart it. This only happens when I'm actively browsing with the computer at this setting though. If I just let it run by itself overnight it's stable. BTW - is 1.05v the default voltage for a 5970? Tried Googling it but didn't get any concrete answers.

No worries. As long as things get settled eventually it's all good. Paid as agreed (with a bit extra as stated). Was gonna respond when I saw it earlier but then my power went out. Freakin' windy out here right now.

Our system was hacked last night. As soon as I can get the data payments will go out.
WOW. I remember telling you to make sure that your security was 100% because Ozcoin and btcserv.net got hacked. Damn assholes hacking pools I did submit about 205,501 shares and since you last paid me at 184 168 shares that means 21333 shares at rate of ( 60 / 1379647 = 0.000043489385328276 ) means a payment of 0.92775905 BTC. Hopefully I can fix my mining router and resume mining. Had about 20k shares to be paid out too. PM'd him yesterday and he responded saying he'd send it in the morning. Once I noticed the website giving me a blank white page I moved my hashing elsewhere for the meantime hoping it'd be up and running again when I woke up. Here's to hoping he gets it resolved or pays out the remaining shares at the least. Was intending to stick around for the long run too.

Thankfully not much.
I just got into bitcoining not too long ago so what I don't exactly have much to loan out anyhow.
I'm out like 2BTC.

Looks like I'm probably getting shafted on my two small loans.

Thanks, turns out it was just a youtube tab I had open that wasn't actually playing anything...
Sent you a small tip (it's not much but I've only just started into mining and it's gonna be like 2 weeks for my other GPU RMA; assuming they don't take longer).

In Trixx you have to disable ULPS (and possibly modify some registry keys). In Afterburner, you have to edit the MSIAfterburner.cfg file using notepad and cut and paste a EULA sentence in there (unless you use the beta or if the beta has turned into a stable release): http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=338906

Had it working after getting help in my other thread, but then just a day or two ago things started acting up in GUIMiner as far as "Speed" and "Accepted" statuses not updating or just sitting on "connecting..." instead of showing hash speed even though it was mining. I haven't made any hardware/software changes. Tried switching over to cgminer to see if it'd be better since there are threads about GUIMiner not working for others as it did before. Now it would seem that GPU0 is only putting out half the mhash it should be. Also, will the overclock settings done in cgminer reset to defaults once cgminer is closed? Just curious but my settings are stable for mining/browsing but if I decide to game those same settings will cause my computer to lock up. Screenshots of GPU0 & GPU1 (I've also tried changing the engine/memory/voltage settings for GPU1 in cgminer and it says that it's successful but it still displays 400/900 and 1v):

Well, from my understanding (which is very little lol), you can use an OpenCL miner or a Phoenix miner within GUIMiner.
If you use a Phoenix miner does it still use the OpenCL kernel? Because I've had weird occurrences when I used the Phoenix miner.
i'd like to know how to do this if anyone knows how Click File -> New Miner -> New OpenCL/Phoenix Miner or whichever you prefer. At least that's how I think it works... Well the new opencl files have beeb released anyone know how to fix guiminer?
I would like to know this as well to figure out if the weird things I've been experiencing with GUIMiner is a result of openCL or something else entirely.

I'd be willing to do this for you, but you'll have to send first as a PayPal gift (you won't get hit with fees as long as you have actual funds in your PayPal account, if you use a credit card to fund the gift they hit you with fees).
Check my post history here; I don't have much of one but I have made transactions with a few different members as well as made small loans (which probably aren't getting paid back at this rate).
Also got a heatware if you want.
Lemme know. PMs or a response here is fine.

About tree fiddy ghash/s.
Edit: Damn, nvm, guess I'm not respectable cause my mining rig is also my gaming rig.
I'd like to have 2.4 ghash/s but haven't found a decently priced 3rd 5970 yet, that and with my current set up they'd be right up on top of each other in my case and I think the heat would be a bit much.

Done and done.
He sent PayPal payment first.

Eh, he's made 3 payments for me shortly after I PM'd him for them. Good grammar or not, as long as he pays as promises I have no qualms with him. Plenty of other pools with great grammar and design have gone belly up (for various reasons stated) costing users hundreds of BTC. As long as you have him pay you out for your shares often I don't see the problem unless you got some massive mining setup where you can mine hundreds of BTC worth of shares a day that he can run off with. Will be staying here for the time being until he tells me to get out.
