881  Economy / Lending / Re: 13 BTC loan, will repay 14.5 BTC on: February 08, 2012, 10:46:23 PM
From the 3 loans he admitted to on this thread: 14.58 BTC (15.95 w/ promised interest included)

chungenhung            8.2         9              2/7     14ZYVka4JkLvxdRJuuX9odyijGLEwJAbec
PatrickHarnett         4.88        5.15         2/7      1Luh4EDDwMoyY3M57JmgWBTPkC75zvbWMC
someone703             1.5         1.8           2/7      1MLEfcwGN9txSTCf96WSLdAqZcwURriTsK

The 13 BTC (w/ 1.5 BTC interest; assuming tomato ended up sending it to him or not).

And the PS3 BTC guy bought off him ($150 asking price; discount if payment in BTC; BTC guy didn't mention how many BTC he sent for it).

Seems to be about it that I can see from his post history assuming there weren't other loans made through PM.

Edit: Correction with lenders and amounts - I added an extra one in and fixed amount after checking the number from other post.
882  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Wanting BTC or MtGox Code for $40 in PayPal USD on: February 08, 2012, 10:30:22 PM
I'd be willing to do this but you'd have to send PayPal payment as a gift and also calculate in PayPal fees so that $60 is received after fees are taken out.

I also have a heatware but only 1 transaction on it.  Got some overclock.net reps and such too.  My post history may be a bit thin here but I do try and only make quality posts.

I've also made a few transactions here with other members such as trading Newegg GC for their bitcoins and buying stuff off eBay for their for bitcoins if that matters any.

Lemme know.  I'm around the house so I check PMs and stuff here fairly often.
883  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Moneybookers locked my account for outgoing transactions. on: February 08, 2012, 06:38:19 PM
They did the same to me.

I was having trouble adding a bank account to it, called in for help and they're like "OK we'll look into it and e-mail  you in 15-30 minutes".

I check my e-mail in 15-30 minutes and instead of a solution, they tell me my account is locked and under review lol.

Bullsh*t.  I've read lots of people have had their accounts frozen by that company with sizable amounts of cash in it and no way to dispute at all.  Moneybookers just said they're accounts were questionable and that's that.  No way of getting account re-instated whatsoever.

I made an account with them, got it verified, but after reading some of the stuff that goes on I never bothered to use it.  Probably stupid since I had to send them high res color scans of my driver's license and proof of address.  Who knows what they might do with it if they take peoples' money from them.
884  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GUI mining - updated Aug 24 with new miner versions on: February 08, 2012, 06:27:19 PM
Well, from my understanding (which is very little lol), you can use an OpenCL miner or a Phoenix miner within GUIMiner.

If you use a Phoenix miner does it still use the OpenCL kernel?  Because I've had weird occurrences when I used the Phoenix miner.
885  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GUI mining - updated Aug 24 with new miner versions on: February 08, 2012, 01:39:39 AM
Yup, same thing here.

I'm using Phoenix miner within GUIMiner.

Went back to the older version (and updated with the latest Phoenix beta kernal) and it appears to be working but it doesn't display the mhash/s speed, just says "Connecting..." but the "Accepted" count is ticking upward.
886  Economy / Lending / Re: 13 BTC loan, will repay 14.5 BTC on: February 08, 2012, 01:30:08 AM
Nothing here either.  Yesterday I received two weird small transactions from him though in the amounts of .001 and .02.
887  Economy / Lending / Re: 13 BTC loan, will repay 14.5 BTC on: February 07, 2012, 10:40:01 PM
Hmmm indeed.  Now to see if he makes good on his debts.
888  Economy / Goods / Re: Ebay Feedback for sales on: February 07, 2012, 06:16:55 PM
You could always have them verify by sending you a message from their eBay account to your eBay account or something.
889  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 6870 and 5970 on 750 Watt PSU? on: February 07, 2012, 05:56:36 PM
I'm currently running 1 5970 overclocked a little on my only computer (i7-920, got an SSD, 5 hard driver, 6 sticks of RAM, and like 6 case fans - not exactly energy efficient like some dedicated mining rigs people here have) and Kill-a-watt shows me pulling about 460w max or so while mining.

Site I checked says the 6870s pull about 150w so with a 750 you should have a little headroom still after getting your 5970.
890  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does it pay to mine in Denmark (0.35 $ / kWh)? on: February 07, 2012, 05:45:31 PM
Yea, with FPGA (if I recall correctly) you'd be looking at paying like double what you would for a comparable mhash/s GPU but the kWh usage is like 1/10th of the usage making it much more efficient.

I've never really seen any mention how likely or easily one could resell their FPGA at a later date though since it seems to be very much a niche product.

With GPUs you can resell to other miners or other gamers.
891  Economy / Goods / Re: Ebay Feedback for sales on: February 07, 2012, 05:38:14 PM
eBay feedback can be faked, BTC-otc feedback can probably be faked, bitcointalk feedback can probably be faked.

Worthless or not, a combination of good reputation from multiple places and skimming through a person's posting history on bitcointalk can help someone make a more informed decision on whether or not to take a risk on said person.

For all you know, someone with impeccable reputation here might someday decide they're done with bitcoin and wanna go out with a bang and take a bunch of people for what they're worth.

Sometimes you gotta go out on a limb to give a person a chance to prove themselves.
892  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Problem underclocking 6870s on: February 06, 2012, 11:58:25 PM
Probably a dumb question but have you disabled ULPS?
893  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Bad GPU Core? (Sort of long post) on: February 06, 2012, 12:35:08 AM
Damn, that's kinda what I was thinking too but was hoping it might be a BIOS thing.

Seller responded and said if I send it back he won't have any problem with me doing a chargeback on the payment.  Not sure why he wouldn't just let me get some info to RMA it with Sapphire but that's his prerogative.

2 options now I suppose:

1.  Send it back; look for another 5970 or wait for 7990.

2.  Try and troubleshoot it with Sapphire warranty support (without a receipt) and see if they'd let me RMA & what kind of fee they'd charge (and be short a card for 2 weeks or so).  Although I'm paranoid he might already be in their system and it'd send up a flag if I tried to submit a ticket with the serial number lol.
894  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Bad GPU Core? (Sort of long post) on: February 05, 2012, 11:42:06 PM
Just got home and tried Catalyst 11.9.

Still no go...

Will try and use Drive Sweeper and give it another go.

Sapphire BIOS: 012.013.000.002.034996

Will check the Diamond one after.
895  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Bad GPU Core? (Sort of long post) on: February 05, 2012, 06:17:58 AM
Got 2x5970; a Diamond and a Sapphire card.

Diamond is definitely working fine.

The Sapphire seems to be giving me issues.

Tested my PCI-e slots by swapping the Diamond card around so they're fine.  1200W PSU so it's not a power issue.

Did a fresh install of Windows to be sure.

I can boot into Safe Mode fine with both cards in.

Safe Mode Device Manager shows this (before installing Catalyst):

I was able to boot into Windows fine without Catalyst Control Center and drivers installed.

After installing Catalyst + drivers, my screen just went completely black with a blinking underscore cursor.

If I try to restart it'll just either hang at the Windows loading screen or just say that there's no signal getting to my monitor.

Device manager shows this (after Catalyst installed):

Anyone experience similar issues before?  Is the Sapphire card bad?  Or is it because I don't have a Crossfire cable/dummy plug set up?

Bought it off a guy on Craiglist (non-local so I used PayPal).  Tried texting the guy to see if he has a receipt and whether or not the warranty would still be valid if it's the card.  Haven't heard back yet so will give him a bit before I decide whether to dispute with PayPal or not.

----

I've been messing around with it for several hours and I'm kinda annoyed since I didn't get any mining done today with just the solo card.

Pretty sure if I remove the Sapphire it'll boot fine.  Will try and remove all the drivers again, pull out the Diamond, and install Catalyst with just the Sapphire but I think I already tried that but will again to be sure.

Edit:  Yup, booted fine to Windows, after installing Catalyst and restarting it hung at Windows loading screen...  Was able to boot into Safe Mode fine right after though.  Is it a driver or hardware issue?
896  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Power Pricing - What is your Cost per kWh ? on: February 04, 2012, 05:54:58 PM
Your costs are below average I would say.

I'm in eastern US and mine is ~$0.10 per kWh after I calculate the taxes and other stuff into the total electricity bill.

I've read that the national average in the US is $0.095 (don't recall the date on the article that stated this), but prices can vary a lot depending on area of course.
897  Economy / Goods / Re: Interest in renting DOTA 2 or Diablo 3? on: February 04, 2012, 05:21:46 AM
Ah, thanks for the heads up as far as Blizzard watching IPs.

Vual:  The test has been open for awhile now I believe, not sure exactly but at least several months.

Considering that bluefirecorp mentioned that they do ban if too many IPs show up I would hope to rent it out for a longer timeframe...

Gonna have to look into how long the beta is supposed to last to decide on that I guess, maybe rent for at least a couple weeks to a month at a time?  (And if the beta ends while your rental period is still going I can give a pro-rated refund of some of the BTC as well)
898  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: 120% PPS Opportunity. on: February 04, 2012, 04:56:46 AM
He paid as agreed after I PM'ed him for payment.

Wish I had the PSU to get my 2nd 5970 up and running already...
899  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: random trolls 0_o are they common here? on: February 04, 2012, 04:51:20 AM
Lol, I think if people are a bit skeptical of what you post about they can troll a little but for the most part people don't do that from what I've seen.

Most everyone is fairly helpful.

Of course, I haven't gone into the "Other" sections of the forum really so as long as you stick to the ones that have to do with mining then you'll be good to go.
900  Economy / Goods / Interest in renting DOTA 2 or Diablo 3? on: February 04, 2012, 04:38:47 AM
Just trying to gauge interest and whether or not doing so would be worthwhile.

Got beta accounts for both of them (both linked to my BNet and Steam accounts though).  I got into DOTA 2 beta after they decided to stop including 2 beta invite keys when you got accepted so don't have keys to sell.

So you'd basically be renting out my account/s for either the entire duration of the beta or a pre-determined duration if desired. (I haven't actually played D3 myself yet)

I also have Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 2 on my bnet account.  My Steam account has a small selection of games you'd be welcome to play.  http://steamcommunity.com/id/idshadow/games?tab=all

Of course, re-activating my WoW account would be frowned upon, nothing to get anyway as I gave everything to friends before quitting way back.  And chatting with people on my Steam friends list wouldn't be too cool either lol.

------

Suggestions on reasonable rental rates are appreciated.
