Get a professional electrician to talk to you about how to split that sort of 3-phase to 220 spilt-phase (most commonly involves a transformer or three).

The Crome F@H app only used your CPU to fold with - it doesn't even look at a GPU even when present.

 Also, doing ANYTHING 24/7 on a laptop is a good way to make it overheat and die, not a good idea.

The Baikal has a few reviews around, it appears to be legitimate.

There is the question of "will it ever ROI" as usual though, given the fairly rapid increase in X11-based coin difficulties since it and the other 2 X11-capable ASIC were introduced.

 THe HIS Ice-Q models with a blower are ball bearing and tend to last.
 HIS has a bad habit of using sleeve bearing fans on non-blower models though from what little I've seen of them - might depend on the specific model though.

 The A2 did not NEED a special PSU - I've got 2 of them running with Seasonic X-1250 standard ATX power supplies, one that came from Zoomhash with a 1300 watt gold PS in it that I don't remember the brand of  and other folks have reported transplanting other standard ATX power supplies into them when the "included" PS died.
They would WORK with an EVGA 1300 G2 but those didn't fit into the case physically without major "too cramped" and "pinch the wires" issues.


 X1250 is pretty close to SILENT running a A2 110Mhs Terminator at the max turbo mode and appx. 1200 watts draw from the wall - definitely can't hear it over the Deltas in the miner unless you put your ear RIGHT at the fan of the Seasonic.


 I do note that Innosilicon is SPECIFYING a 1000 watt power supply, while the A2s shipped stock with an 1100, which strongly implies that the A4 is lower power usage all-up than the A2.


 Using a 1600 watt PS should be a TOTAL WASTE of capasity and money (unless you already have it sitting around, of course).

While the SP30 was a good and efficient miner FOR IT'S DAY, at this point it's a money-LOSER unless your electricity is free or *maybe* if you're paying less than 3c/KWH you might eek out a SMALL profit *IF* it has the same configurability as the SP20E did and you turn the voltage to the ASIC down as far as it will go to maximise EFFICIENCY.


As of right now, it is 2 full generations BEHIND the "greater efficiency through technology improvements" ASIC curve for Bitcoin miners.

There are ASIC for X11 - the Baikal is the highest efficiency one - but like ANY ASIC, they can only be used on the specific algorythm(s) they are designed to be used on.

That is the tradeoff of CPU and GPU in mining - higher flexability but less efficient.

Litecoin is Scrypt - you won't see enough earnings to pay squat out of ANY GPU-based rig due to the widespread deployment of ASIC devices for the last 3-4 years.

 ETH  - not sure if your HD 6950 can even DO ETH, worth trying perhaps if it as 2GB or more RAM on it but I suspect the power consumption is going to rival the mining income on that old of a card, unless your power cost is VERY VERY cheap - the "this is only card in the machine" aspect makes that worse.

 Grease is too thick. Standard motor oil works pretty well though, and is designed to handle MUCH higher temperatures than any computer (in working condition) will ever see.

 On the other hand, any fan in bad enough shape to NEED to be relubricated isn't very long for this world as a working item. Relube is an EMERGENCY SHORT TERM measure intended to get you by 'till you can REPLACE the bad fan with a good new fan.

 Avoid sleeve bearing fans (this SPECIFICALLY includes stuff like "rifle" "hydro" "permalube" etc) - they do NOT live up to their claimed MTBF due to failure in the seals intended to keep the lube in, and VERY rarely last even a year in 24/7 high-temp environments.
 Stick with ball bearing - which can run for YEARS with no lube at all if you keep the dust and grime out of the bearings.

 This is why I generally stick with Sapphire or Gigabyte cards - they come with Ball Bearing fans across the board AFAIK.
 (Might be true for some other brands, definitely NOT true for HIS).

Don't know of any list, but I've yet to see any PoS coin match the return of most BONDS, much less a good high-dividend stock.

800/900 might not be a shock for an Avalon 7 - if they do the same thing as they did on the Avalon 6 and make it a somewhat smaller capability miner vs. the same gen Antminer.

 6TH/600 watt ballpark and at least as quiet as the A6 for $800-$900 would sell a LOT of Avalon 7 units even though it would be somewhat higher on a $/TH basis vs the S9.

The "cash in office" refusal isn't all that uncommon. Try doing that with Bitmain, or Zoomhash, or Innosilicon, among other reputable folks selling miners.

 No Paypal is no big deal - Paypal is a RIPOFF.

 No Credit Card OR Bank Transfer is yet another BIG RED WARNING SIGN, especially when they try to link it to a "confidentiality policy".
 Yep, it's hard to keep their SCAM ARTIST confidentiality when there is a credit card or bank transfer trail to follow.

 How many of those did you end up with, and when are they going to get their share of the units / chips in accordance with the stated investment terms?





 To the dogjunior - hint, MOST miners that have ever been released had a *30* day guarentee, often with some major limitations.
 This is, UNFORTUNATELY, not out of line or uncommon in the industry.

 The difference is that Innosilicon has made tons of A1 and A2 miners and chips that have proven to have a ROCK SOLID reliability record, KNC made trash that frequently died for no reason at the chip level and had major design flaws at the miner level that caused a lot more issues.

 Not even CLOSE to "another KNC".
