81  Economy / Speculation / Re: What set of conditions can crash blockchain or bitcoin to zero USD? on: January 26, 2020, 01:31:54 PM
The reason which will lead to the crash of blockchain will only lead to he crash of Bitcoin. The fear of supercomputers is not unheard. Anything which can make blockchain unreliable will make Bitcoin go to 0 as the sole purpose for what the btc was created will no longer be valid.
The security is provides if gets threatened, the ultimate use case will cease to exist.
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people debate so much about BTC value? on: January 26, 2020, 08:36:32 AM
It is tough to define bitcoin's intrinsic value. There isn't any defined measure. No one knows the basic value. It is dependent upon the speculation largely. Thus, the debate is never-ending. Some people believe that Bitcoin don't have any intrinsic value and hence is overvalued and some go by the demand factor. That the supply is so limited and demand is ever increasing and hence, price is undervalued.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: sell bitcoin to buy fiat or altcoin? on: January 25, 2020, 02:35:47 PM
Recently we saw that the altcoins went up with more percentage than Bitcoin. That was a welcoming sign for altcoins. But the degree of risk associated with them is pretty high than Bitcoin. Usually after making an upward rally, they start falling Down the next day which can land you in trouble if profits are not taken at right moments.
I dont understand why wouldn't anyone like Bitcoin in their portfolio in this market. It diversifies the risk to a good extent.
84  Economy / Economics / Re: Halving is approacing: HOLD YOUR BITCOINS AND NEVER SELL THEM (118 days left) on: January 25, 2020, 02:15:20 PM
I like the enthusiasm this year after 2 years of bearish market. We are still not in a bull market certainly. But if the sentiments stay strong, we might get in one. Right now market is still trying to overcome from bear cycle. This speculation surrounding the halving could help in giving that one push after that the positive sentiments will do the rest. Let's see how it all turns out. Even I am accepting a fomo before halving.

Hodl your coins!
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Selling milk tea for Bitcoin on: January 25, 2020, 01:44:29 PM
I had a discussion with my parents earlier, saying that they want to start operating our milk tea food cart. We had the cart ready, materials for making the milk tea and so on. Instead of waiting for June or July until the new school building opens, we decided to put our business in a mall rather than the school sooner than later.

My dad was a traditional business style guy. He kept failing because of not being creative and innovative, and sometimes ignoring my suggestions and advice. However, this time, since I am into crypto and blockchain industry, he was thinking about displaying a Bitcoin QR code.

In the city that I lived, there were no businesses yet who accept Bitcoin payments. They do have QR codes, but mostly from a centralized provider and not crypto-related.

I already have my mom's Bitcoin wallet verified, and may need to upgrade it to a Business account as it needs business permit and other requirements necessary. It'll be used for the business anyways.

I think this is going to be a worthwhile experiment, and a great way to start letting people aware about Bitcoin. Maybe I should put some creative promos for those who will buy milk tea using Bitcoin. What do you guys think?
The only concern I have is that will people be ready to shred even a few cents extra as a fees over an item which is low on price when fiat transaction wouldn't cost extra at all. That's the big limitation of Bitcoin. The fee makes it really expensive for less priced items. There even 1 cent would make a difference.

Though this could stop people to use Bitcoin. But general awareness can increase if you put up Bitcoin sign and qr code on display.
86  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin value starts with people's attention? or with its technology? on: January 24, 2020, 12:13:33 PM
The technology underlying Bitcoin is groundbreaking. Bloclchain has many use cases which can disrupt many industries. But Bitcoin as a currency which challenges the present monetary system needs people's trust and support to actually become successful as a currency and/or replace traditional currency.

Bitcoin needs more adoption. Right now the people's attention is more important than the technology.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker talk - Specifically Hold'em - Hands and or strategy on: January 24, 2020, 07:52:39 AM
I was originally just planning on talking about how whatever your strategy is, no matter how much you plan there is still a weak link - and it's the player. I got on this thought as I was playing the other day, and got into that mind set of my bets and bluffs just couldn't miss. Had a pretty good run on taking blinds and chipping up after a good hand where I was just behind. Then I went loose on my range and just pushed a pure bluff, pre-flop and got caught. Had to fold the hand as they had me covered and jammed, this left me nearly crippled and I just couldn't recover.

It was in doing a bit of hand analysis - this one didn't take long - that I thought about sharing poker stories here. I've been playing a lot lately, mostly tournaments. So I figured I would gauge interest in sharing some more interesting hands, like key double ups, or beats both bad and deserved. Finally the hands that get me eliminated, often these won't be anything of interest as they will be an all-in from short stack, but I've had some beauties over the years that I didn't see coming.

It would depend on the week but I generally play 3 or 4 nights a week depending on my work schedule, and would maybe make a post or 2. I know it's not the general gambling discussion that goes on, but figured there's gotta be a few people who may take an interest.

I would also totally welcome others to post their tales. By the way I'm not pro, I play micro-low stakes, and just really enjoy playing (ignore those 20 seconds after some hands) and trying to improve.

I recommend to play more till you come with your playinf style and dont keep it stable and do have variations. Start playing with your friends , with small blinds before you more on to big stakes and play with professionals. Bluffing is helpful at times but should not be your style..if you bluff too much and include it in your game , people with experience might corner you . Play humble , set your budget and dont be shy to fold if you are not confident about your hand.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you know if a gambling site is scam or not? on: January 23, 2020, 06:54:11 AM
I wonder how you do your research if a gambling site is scam or not?

Community forums and review sites can be primary source of information to see if the site is authentic. Also , most of the times you can just tell if the site is a scam. A scam site might offer you out of the box deals , can have lot of irrelavant display ads and also no details about the developers and promoters. Even if you end up not knowing the site , try betting a little amount and withdraw as soon as you win. If you get the amount in time and peace , you can consider that site as not a scam and you are good to go.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if Ethereum replaces Bitcoin someday? on: January 19, 2020, 04:51:05 AM
There is no direct competition among cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin and ethereum works on entirely different model. Bitcoin competitive advantage is its capped supply and first mover whereas ethereum has smart contracts.
They are not at all competing with each other.
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alternatives Like BTC Becomes Necessary As World Debt Reaches $253 Trillion on: January 19, 2020, 04:17:28 AM
The problem with Bitcoin is that it's not really scalable because of the slow speed and increase in few when transactions increase. But yeah crypto can come handy and can solve many of the problem which presently exist in monetary landscape. Countries are struggling with hyperinflation and centralization of money. I think once people start understanding that a decentralized currency can be a revolution, the whole monetary landscape would change.
91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain the most desirable skill of 2020 according to LinkedIn on: January 16, 2020, 01:58:42 PM
Bloclchain has the power to disrupt many sectors and industries. In most of the industries, the bloclchain powered products are there but still in testing phase. Therefore, for r&d companies need labour force with bloclchain knowledge.
Bloclchain is an emerging technology which solves the very important issue of today's world which is data privacy. So, the important and relevance is natural to go up.

93  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Greta Thunberg is the time's person of the year 2019 on: January 15, 2020, 12:08:37 PM
Swedish teen who started by protesting in from of the Swedish parliament for action against climate change now is the major attraction for media around the world. Time like every year selects one of the most influencing person in the year as Time's person of the year.

Seeing this post I wonder where has she vanished now. I guess she was a deserving candidate to be nominated by times magazine as person of the year. She was very viral and effective with her speeches, especially "How dare you!". At a very young age , she was able to reach to UN and brought attention to very important topic of climate change. I did notice a shift in attitude of nations , organizations and even individual and they saw sustainability and recycling as important and duty.
94  Other / Politics & Society / Re: why socialism? on: January 14, 2020, 02:14:23 PM
Why is  the left pushing the idea of socialism/comunism so much even tho it showed that it doesn't work many times in the past?

I feel a capitalist society can be dangerous and selfish if given too much power. Specially when such society gets controlled by few conglomerate of private players. Socialism leads to equality and does not let power into private players. Indeed a good government is required to beer fruits from socialist society. Socialism , beside taking care of equality also takes care of price fluctuation, inflation and keeps a check on unemployement.
95  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The pain of playing unders in Football on: January 13, 2020, 05:37:24 PM
Does anyone of you play unders in Football ? I basically never did it and the few times I did, I hated it. Who in this world is watching/following a football match and doesn’t want to see goals scored ? Unless you are fan of a team of course and want it to win…..but even then, if your team is leading 2-0 you would be biting your nails and hope your team DOES NOT to score another goal – this is just madness.

The problem with this is, that I think there is loads of value in playing unders, just because people love playing overs and thus the odds are driven down a lot often times. This threads purpose is to get rid of my under-phobia and I will document my possible healing publicly.

I will mainly stick with german competitions (GER1, GER2 and Cup) mixing it up with other leagues every now and then if I stumble across something, in my opinion, worthwhile. If this whole thing isn’t too nerve-wrecking, I will try to play 100 unders and see where I stand after that.

I will start with only 500,- Euro and stake 2% flat to prevent any heart attacks. Will do short write-ups for the bets I am playing.

The first bets for todays cup matches in Germany:

#1 l CUPGER l Kaiserslautern – Nuremberg I under 2,5 l 2,08 l 10,00 Euro l Dafabet
Kaiserslautern sort of underish team, especially at home. For today they will probably park the bus and go on from there. Nuremberg has huge trouble against defensive-minded teams so I don’t see lots of goals scored.

#2 l CUPGER l Wolfsburg – Leipzig l under 2,5 l 2,20 l 9,80 Euro l bwin
Both teams very well organized and with troubles scoring lately. Wolfsburg has played under in 8 of their 13 matches this season and they will probably sit back first and watch how things unfold, while Leipzig isn’t the most confident team in the world right now as well. Their Bundesliga match some days ago in Leipzig ended 1-1.

#3 l CUPGER l Dortmund – Gladbach l under 2,5 l 2,58 l 9,60 Euro l Pinnacle
Dortmund really poor right now, only scored one goal in their last 3 matches, but only conceded twice as well. Gladbach rather underish tendency on travels, Bundesliga match some days ago ended 1-0.

#4 l CUPGER l Düsseldorf – Aue l under 2,5 l 2,30 l 9,41 Euro l Bet365
Aue has surprised me this season. There is lots of goals scored in their matches this season, but I don’t see them doing anything for the game today. They will sit back and look for counter attacks. Düsseldorf is missing some important creative players and are not the most confident team right now, so they will struggle to find the back of the net against this Aue team.

Beside cup matches being risky , I hate betting on unders. Although the reward is many a times but risk associated is also high. Also , if you consider many review pre match sites , they also go for the uppers. You should very well know the facets of the game and have guts to really bet for the unders. Good luck for future games brother.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: War affects the Entire Cryptocurrency? on: January 11, 2020, 06:21:24 PM
That's just merely coincidence and it won't affect any part of crypto at all. If there's gonna be, it would most likely be because people there wouldn't want their money to be lost so they decided to buy BTC as their storage. It seems also that the price plummeted back to 7.8k sometime after there was like a news that there ain't a single war that's gonna happen.
I agree to your point. It was just a coincidence. Price going up has nothing to do with the Iran USA tussle. It was more of a technical. If you see altcoins too made movement. This shows that market in the whole is recovering. Altcoins had bottomed out. They got a support because of the Bitcoin price going up and now are following the price up movement.
97  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I am not lucky in trading - what am I doing wrong? on: January 11, 2020, 04:03:23 PM
Always put stop losses!
Always include stop losses to your trade religiously. People often forget that cutting losses is equally important to earning profits. Usually in cryptos you don't make profit out of every trade. In few trades, you hit profit once. The general ratio is 1:4. 1 profit for every 4 losses. In those 4 losses, you need to have stop losses at place to incur less loss and exit at soon as possible. This will make that 1 profit big.
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATMs should target developing and third world countries on: January 11, 2020, 02:45:49 PM
It won't make much of the economical sense then. Many such countries have regulated cryptos such as India, Bangladesh etc. There it is illegal to set up such things. Plus, people who are not really into trusting anything else than government when it comes to money. Bringing change though ATM will not achieve anything.
I guess these ATMs need to be properly embraced in developed countries and then only the wave will reach developing or their world countries.
99  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Counted Or Estimate All Your Losses And.... on: January 11, 2020, 08:33:36 AM
Some people are losing $100 daily or $200 a week or $500 a week how about you
Have you counted or estimate all your losses and thought what all your losses could you buy, do you sometimes stop and think on all of this.
I'm not a big gambler but I estimate I could already buy a good class mountain bike with all my losses, how about you?

I always end up regretting not counting my losses and not keeping track of them. I sometimes look back and is taken a back to know how much of opportunity cost i missed. What could I have bought from the money I lost , is there any better way to invest it to get more. Recently , I started with this activity of maintaining an excel to track my losses and even wins.
100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Gambling on Mobile Devices on: January 10, 2020, 01:24:40 PM
Have you ever gambled from your mobile device (preferably smartphone)?

I know that some online gambling sites adapt themselves to mobile devices. But I'm talking about applications that you install on your phone which allow you to gamble anytime, anywhere. For Android, I've toppled with an app called "CoinPoker" which allows you to play Poker on the go with cryptocurrency. I'm sure there are other apps out there, but that's the only one I've found. For ETH-based gambling sites, I use the "Cipher" wallet to interact with them on my phone. Per my experience, it's much more convenient to gamble on a mobile device than a computer. But everyone has their unique preferences within the mainstream world.

If you happen to know of good Android apps which allow you gamble with crypto, please let me know. Also, feel free to share your experience when gambling using a mobile device. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley

Sites like  bet365.com have their own personal app, not sure how well of experience they provide on their mobile app but I am sure it is avaiable on playstore. I generally dont gamble on move and always feel comfortable gambling on PC and not on mobile. Though I am certain that the sites are mobile friendly these days and I have seen few of my peers playing on their mobile.
