1241  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitcoinToss No Payment Received on: May 13, 2012, 03:41:22 AM
I just made a bet, won, and then saw this thread, and thought all hope was lost. Then I received my winnings.

Granted, it was a .01 bet, so it's not much, but here's the info on it...

Its unattended mate, try making a bet of 1btc and see what happens.
1242  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!!!!! on: May 11, 2012, 12:19:24 PM
I also see strange buying pressure. Who are these buyers? Non-speculative demand? (except for the new "wave noise" and the followers of the blue font "cannon salvo" today Tongue), why they buy, if it is obvious that now will be tested ~4.7 support line? surely the market growing?

I keep thinking its ideal for money launderers and "discrete accountants" to use a small bank for long distance/international transfers of money between each other. It solves trust and transportation issues easily.,and if used as a bank cashouts are less likely to occur.

Disclaimer: I know shit about finance and I love mafia/ gangster movies.

Sorry to interrupt the flow Tongue
1243  Economy / Speculation / Re: Recent spike in output volume on blockchain: Breakout imminent? on: May 11, 2012, 12:02:44 PM
SatoshiDice.com , that's the reason. Fuckin' gamblers, poluting the blockchain, hence poluting my HDD, with their tiny transactions

sorry Tongue

I do pay the default tx though and most people using it are newbs (some bots Wink so they do as well. As someone else said, this looks to be a good thing, its increasing miner reward and could possibly make up for the halving due to tx volume.

If btc really takes off it will only get worse/better (depending how you see it) as more and more gamblers flock to it.
1244  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2012-05-10 Bitcoin Report: A Breakout Warning on: May 11, 2012, 11:57:41 AM
I bet 1 btc that within 48h of op's post the price will not hit 30+ as claimed, any takers ?  Tongue.

1246  Economy / Gambling / Re: mem's BITCOIN GAMBLING LIST (no 404's, Scams, Pyramid's or Ponzi's) on: May 11, 2012, 10:52:18 AM

New addition: The ∑ Number Game added to the pending lsit.
1247  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Introducing the ModMiner Quad 800Mhash @ 40 Watts http://www.BTCFPGA.com on: May 10, 2012, 09:37:51 AM
wish list

  • 8x, 16x & 32x motheboards
  • souce code used for your arm chip
  • rj45 lan port connected to the arm cortex
  • more screenshots Wink
  • lower price Tongue (not complaining just wishing)

The arm chip you are using may be powerful enough to run a rtos, even if not Im sure there are plenty of people (myself included) that would love to attempt adding a webui, the miner/ a miner and a TCP/IP stack to the code so these devices could become stand alone network devices configured via web interface removing the need for a pc entirely.

Just me thinking out loud, absolutely love the design.
1248  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 5970 boots in safe mode, blue screens in regular on: May 10, 2012, 07:59:58 AM
Id suggest booting up into BAMT or Knoppix to do some testing.
1249  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: PCI -> PCIE adapter on: May 10, 2012, 06:03:45 AM
yes I have done it and have 10 more in stock. Some older boards have problems with it but normally it works. my MSI 890FXA powers on when the card is plugged in, so switch your psu off befor plugging.

sweeet, I have some older amd Asus boards with 6x pci slots Cheesy
1250  Economy / Gambling / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Human vs human chess matches. BTC wagers. Looking for beta testers. on: May 10, 2012, 05:42:49 AM
looks interesting, added to my list under pending.
Nice to see something different offered.

reminds me of cheating in online chess tournaments:
start chess prog, set your color to the one your opponents color and let the computer predict the moves for you.

added game review section.
Needs a better title but this section is intended to hold info for new site admins looking for advice and publicity for their new games.

note to self, review game rules as requested.

Always happy to see more games available.

bumping old post.

these can be sourced from aliexpress for $22.99 inc postage, cheaper if bought in bulk.
Um.
You realize that one goes from PCI Express TO regular PCI, and not the other way around?
Make sure you get one that goes from PCI TO PCI Express, and then find a price for that.

wow, its not my day today Tongue

Here is a PCI -> PCIE adapter for $24.99 inc postage.

1255  Bitcoin / Mining / PCI -> PCIE adapter on: May 10, 2012, 03:22:10 AM

Has anyone tried putting a 5970 (or another GPU) into one of these and using it to mine ?

Seems like an ideal way to get even more slots out of your motherboard.
Its unlikely but when mine arrive I will be trialing it in older motherboards that did not have PCIE (if it works Im set for motherboards).

cost is about $20 ea.

edit: as pointed out to me by a user, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4894.0 it works great.
Ordering some meow.

edit: really not my day, another user pointed out that I was looking at PCIE -> PCI not PCI -> PCIE (damn you dyslexia you win again).
Fixed.

WE GET IT, YOU THINK IT'S A SCAM.

WE GET IT, YOU THINK IT'S _NOT_ A SCAM.

its unfortunate some people are fairly ignorant of scams, bitcoin users are frequently hit by them.

It simple, I sell <item>. I accept 1000 orders with only 100 items available. I sell 100 then laugh at the other 900.
1258  Other / Off-topic / Re: OK, i confirmed the model of FPGA they are using in BFL single. on: May 10, 2012, 01:41:38 AM
...BFL singles have so long waiting times - BFL can't buy enough FPGA's.

Bingo! Mystery solved!!! Now BFL is not a SCAM, not a CON, just lack of production supplies.

How ridiculous can a human look, when he is so jealous, that he can not afford himself to accept a simple fact...

Well he is least guilty of shady business tactics.
If he played by the rules he would have come forward straight ahead with the real, not inflated specs, the fact that there will be a limited supply and what hardware he is gonna be using. I would have bought one if I knew what I get.
Instead he decided to claim he is using a custom chip and stated the product will have 120% the performance and 60% the power requirements it actually turned out to be.
Lots of people are feeling the same way.

He fucked up, he could have secured himself a cutting edge position in the market with a innovative idea. Now BFL will probably end up as a side note alas:
'First closed source mining implementation using discount pro-grade fpgas'

And BTW: This could very well still turn out to be a scam.
What do you think will happen if there aren't enough EP3SL150 available for cheap to actually build the rig boxes people ordered?

Still looks like a scam to me, lying about custom chips, lying about delivery, lying about availability, possibly using 2nd hand parts.
The BFL company is like a rotting sheep carcass in the sun, the more time goes by the more it stinks.

satoshidiceKiss฿0.001฿?Dice฿0.001฿?Slight questions raised regarding randomness.
Admin is a forum member.

might need to add a little warning here that some bets being placed are getting missed. (No win/lose response whatsoever).
i'm sure the reputable owners will sort them out eventually, but it's still a bit of a downer.

Actually the whole entry needs updating, thanks.
